WWE RAW Results: August 6, 2018By Cassidy| August 7, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After he was manhandled by Universal Champion Brock Lesnar last week, RAW kicks off with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and RAW Constable Baron Corbin. The GM says that, unlike some other former UFC champions, Ronda Rousey has no problem competing on RAW. Kurt then says that Ronda doesn’t “whine or complain” before saying that Ronda, as well as every other RAW Superstar that shows up every week, is a “champion” in his book. Kurt continues, saying that Brock Lesnar has “no class” before saying that he is a man of his word so Paul Heyman is still employed. The GM then starts to discuss Brock attacking him last week when Kurt is interrupted by Roman Reigns, who makes his way to the ring. Roman claims that “nobody” is going to “protect the yard” when he’s not in the building and that is why Kurt got tossed around the ring by Brock Lesnar last week. Roman then takes issue with Constable Baron Corbin for backing down from Brock last week. Kurt then says that nobody liked what Brock did last week, which makes Roman question if Brock is going to be suspended for his actions. The GM says that he made sure that Brock did not got suspended and he made sure that Reigns will still get his Universal Title match at SummerSlam, adding that he hopes that Roman kicks Brock’s ass. Corbin scolds Kurt for taking sides before saying that he was “worn out” from beating Finn Balor last week, saying that he can’t possibly think of anything else he could do. Kurt responds by saying that Corbin could have “acted like a man” last week with the Constable telling Kurt that he shuffles out there week after week and welcome the fans like it’s Kurt’s show. Corbin then says that Stephanie McMahon is the Commissioner of RAW and Kurt’s job is to “make matches”, saying that Stephanie assigned him the role of Constable because Kurt “can’t be trusted”. The GM responds by making an impromptu match between Roman Reigns and Constable Baron Corbin. Following a confrontation moments earlier, the opening match of the night would see Roman Reigns square off with Constable Baron Corbin. During the match, Constable Baron Corbin would try to abandon the match but Finn Balor would come out, forcing Corbin to come back to ringside where he is caught with a Superman Punch from Roman Reigns. Roman then rolls Corbin into the ring, connecting with the Spear and pinning Corbin for the win. With Corbin vulnerable, Finn Balor would take advantage, dropkicking Corbin into the corner before taking flight with the Coup de Grace to the Constable. After a backstage brawl between the two last week, “Glorious” Bobby Roode would go one-on-one with Mojo Rawley on RAW. In the end, it was Bobby Roode planting Mojo Rawley with the Glorious DDT, pinning Mojo for the win. With his own, personal crew by his side working on his next documentary, Elias’ performance on RAW was once again interrupted by Bobby Lashley. Lashley says that he thought Elias’ documentary was good but Elias argues that the documentary made him look “vain”. Elias then says that Lashley wants to steal his “spotlight” before saying that Lashley’s entire comeback has been a “joke”. Lashley fires back by saying that everything about Elias is a “joke” but, if Elias mentions his name again, it won’t be a joke. Elias then escorts his crew out of the ring before delivering a cheap shot to Lashley. However, Lashley would fight back, planting Elias with a spinebuster before bringing Elias’ crew back into the ring so they can film Lashley as Lashley hits Elias with a stalling suplex. Lashley then salutes the crowd, standing tall over Elias. After Akam was defeated by Apollo Crews last week, Rezar, with Akam in his corner, would go one-on-one with Titus O’Neil, with Apollo Crews & Dana Brooke in his corner. During the match, a distraction by Akam would allow Rezar to take advantage as Rezar hits Titus O’Neil with a spinebuster, pinning Titus for the win. With his match against Braun Strowman with the Money-in-the-Bank contract on the line at SummerSlam, Kevin Owens would be seated in a special section set up by the stage as Owens hosts The Kevin Owens Show. Owens welcomes everyone to The Kevin Owens Show before introducing his guest, his “own personal guru” Jinder Mahal, who comes out to The Kevin Owens Show with Sunil Singh by his side. Owens says that he’s never been more “at peace” and that is thanks to Jinder Mahal, saying that he woke up this morning with “no pain”, thanks to Jinder. Owens then crows about his Steel Cage win over Braun Strowman at Extreme Rules before mentioning Jinder’s count-out win over Braun last week. Refusing to let his guest talk, Kevin Owens vows to beat Strowman at SummerSlam, becoming known as “KO-in-the-Bank”. Owens then says that what needs to happen is another match between Jinder Mahal and Braun Strowman. While Jinder appears apprehensive about having to face Strowman again, Owens tries to bring Braun out. However, “Mr. Monster-in-the-Bank” does not come out but Braun does emerge from underneath the stage for The Kevin Owens Show as Braun uses his brute strength to tip the entire set over, sending Kevin Owens, Jinder Mahal, and Sunil Singh tumbling to the floor. In a match made by Kevin Owens, RAW would see a reluctant Jinder Mahal, with Kevin Owens and Sunil Singh in his corner, face “Mr. Monster-in-the-Bank” Braun Strowman in a rematch from last week. Much like last week, Kevin Owens would run off with the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase in an attempt to get Braun counted out. However, Strowman would not fall for it. This wouldn’t stop Kevin Owens from trying again with Braun catching up to Owens on the stage, dropping Owens with a right hand. However, Jinder Mahal would approach Strowman from behind and Braun would inadvertently strike Jinder with the briefcase, which gives Jinder the win by disqualification. “Mr. Monster-in-the-Bank” then takes his aggression out on Sunil Singh, leveling Sunil with a big boot before standing tall in the ring. Backstage, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are on their way out to face Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre but they are stopped by Kurt Angle and Constable Baron Corbin as the Constable informs Roman that Stephanie doesn’t want to endanger the Universal Title match at SummerSlam. Corbin then tells Reigns that Stephanie is forbidding Roman from being Seth’s partner tonight since Roman already competed. With the Constable threatening to take Roman’s Universal Title match away, Seth Rollins would assure his former Shield brethren that he will “figure something out”. However, Roman Reigns would not leave quietly, deciding to deliver a shot to the ribs of the Constable before walking off with a smile on his face. Having no choice but to go it alone, Seth Rollins would face both Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. Despite the best efforts of Seth Rollins, the numbers game would prove too much for Rollins as Dolph Ziggler puts Seth down with a super kick, pinning Rollins for the win. After The Revival defeated former champions Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt last week, The Revival would get their shot at the champions as Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson would face RAW Tag Team Champions The B-Team in a non-title match. During the match, Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt would appear on the ring apron in place of Curtis Axel and Dash Wilder! Matt & Bray then attack Bo Dallas and Scott Dawson, ending the match in a No Contest as Matt & Bray beat down Bo and Dawson with Matt hitting Dawson with the Twist of Fate while Bray hits Bo with Sister Abigail. Matt & Bray then lord over their destruction, making an emphatic statement about their standing in the RAW tag team division. After being abused by his longtime client, Brock Lesnar, last week, Brock’s advocate Paul Heyman would participate in a sit-down interview with Renee Young on RAW. Renee asks the advocate where his relationship with Brock Lesnar stands after last week. A tearful Heyman says that he doesn’t know where his relationship with Brock stands, saying that the Universal Champion has cut off all forms of communication with Heyman, saying that he hasn’t talked to “The Beast” since last week. When asked if Heyman considers Brock his friend, the advocate says that he does consider Brock his friend and they have always talked about “riding off into the sunset” together. Renee then asks Heyman if he has his sights set on anyone else as his next client but Heyman says that the prospect seemed “inconceivable” before last week. The advocate then says that he has “never” seen Brock Lesnar like this in sixteen years, saying that he has never seen the Universal Champion be this “violent”, saying that Roman Reigns does not “stand a chance” against this iteration of Brock Lesnar. In a rematch from last week, best friends Sasha Banks & Bayley would face Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan in tag team action. During the match, Bayley would dive off of the ring apron to try and take out Liv Morgan but a mysterious, hooded person would pull Liv Morgan out of harm’s way as Bayley collides with the barricade. This individual would reveal herself to be the leader of The Riott Squad, Ruby Riott. Ruby’s return would distract Sasha Banks long enough for Sarah Logan to take advantage, rolling “The Boss” up to pick up the win for herself and Liv Morgan. Then it was time for the main event as, before she faces Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Title at SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey, with Natalya in her corner, would make her RAW in-ring debut to go one-on-one with Alicia Fox, with RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss in her corner. Early on in the match, Alicia Fox would do everything in her power to avoid contact with Ronda Rousey as Alexa Bliss repeatedly gets on the ring apron. Tired of Alexa getting involved, Natalya would pull the RAW Women’s Champion off of the ring apron but Natalya would pay for it as Alexa sends Natalya face-first into the ring post before Alexa trips up Rousey. This would allow Alicia Fox to briefly get the better of Ronda but Alicia would take time to gloat and Rousey would unload on Alicia, tossing Alicia around the ring by the arm. Ronda then brings Alicia to the outside, whipping Alicia into the barricade. Back in the ring, Ronda would take a swing at Alexa and Alicia would try to take advantage. However, Rousey was ready as Rousey takes Alicia down and, as Ronda looks directly at the RAW Women’s Champion, Rousey would lock the armbar in on Alicia Fox, quickly making Alicia tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Ronda Rousey would be interviewed in the ring and Alexa Bliss would try to attack Rousey from behind. However, Rousey would take the champion down before telling Alexa that it doesn’t matter how tightly Alexa holds onto the title because, at SummerSlam, the RAW Women’s Title is hers! With fear in her eyes, Alexa runs to the back as Ronda and Natalya celebrate Ronda’s victory. What did you think of this week’s RAW? Post your comments in the box below.
