WWE RAW Results: July 30, 2018By Cassidy| July 31, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results With Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman lurking backstage, RAW would get underway with Brock’s opponent at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns. Roman says that, after last week, he “respects” Bobby Lashley but that’s more than he can say for Brock Lesnar, who he doesn’t respect at all. Roman then says that Brock doesn’t “show up for work” but the Universal Champion has no problem showing up at a UFC pay-per-view to confront Daniel Cormier. Roman then says that Brock will not come out to his “yard” and get in his face. This brings out Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman, who does his trademark introduction before saying that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again but expecting a different result. Heyman then says that Roman should be in a “padded cell” instead of the main event of SummerSlam, saying that Reigns can talk all he wants about being the “uncrowned champion”. The advocate then vows that Brock will walk out of SummerSlam as the Universal Champion and go to the UFC to become a “dual-sport champion”. Roman then tells Heyman to bring Brock Lesnar out to the ring but the advocate says that the Universal Champion that, while “The Beast” is in the building, Brock will only come out to the ring if he feels like coming out to the ring. Reigns then interjects, saying that, if Brock shows up at SummerSlam, he’s going to send Lesnar back to UFC and he is going to send Brock back as “Roman Reigns’ bitch”. The opening match of the night would be a rematch from Extreme Rules as Finn Balor would go one-on-one with Constable Baron Corbin. In the end, it was Constable Baron Corbin avoiding the Coup de Grace before connecting with the End of Days, avenging his loss at Extreme Rules with a victory over Finn Balor. After the match, the Constable was not done with Finn Balor as Corbin would hammer Finn with right hands on the outside, leaving Finn down before walking to the back with a smile on his face. “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey would then return to RAW to be in the corner of Natalya as Natalya would go one-on-one with Alicia Fox, with RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss in her corner. During the match, Alicia Fox would taunt Ronda Rousey and Ronda would respond by trying to get into the ring. This would distract the referee long enough for Alexa Bliss to deliver a cheap shot to Natalya, which would allow Alicia Fox to hit a big boot on Natalya, pinning Natalya for the win. After the match, Ronda Rousey would set her sights on Alexa Bliss, chasing the RAW Women’s Champion into the ring and trying for the arm bar. However, Alicia Fox would intervene and Rousey would take Alicia out with a neckbreaker. On the outside, Ronda would corner Alexa but Alicia would again get involved, repeatedly tossing Rousey into the barricade before Alexa and Alicia make their way up the ramp as Ronda checks on Natalya. A performance by Elias on RAW is then interrupted by Bobby Lashley as Lashley says that he’s a “big fan”. Elias responds by saying that Lashley wants to “sing with Elias” and, while Lashley is reluctant, Elias uses the fans to try and encourage Lashley. While Lashley would sing with Elias, Elias would waste little time in attacking Bobby Lashley from behind but Lashley would toss Elias across the ring, getting the better of the musician as Lashley stands tall. As he prepares to face Kevin Owens at SummerSlam with his Money-in-the-Bank contract on the line, Braun Strowman was in action on RAW as “Mr. Monster-in-the-Bank” would go one-on-one with Jinder Mahal, with Sunil Singh in his corner. Early on in the match, Kevin Owens would emerge through the crowd and would grab Braun Strowman’s Money-in-the-Bank briefcase. This would lure Braun out of the ring as Owens would run around the ring with Strowman in pursuit before Owens tosses the briefcase to Sunil Singh, who gets mowed down by “Mr. Monster-in-the-Bank”! Braun then grabs his briefcase and chases Kevin Owens to the back, oblivious to the referee’s ten-count as, thanks to Kevin Owens, Jinder Mahal picks up the win by count-out. Braun would storm back to the ring but Jinder was long gone, escaping with a victory over an enraged Strowman. Backstage, a confrontation between Mojo Rawley and Bobby Roode turns physical as the two men brawl before agents and referees jump in to pull the two apart. With Titus O’Neil & Dana Brooke in his corner, Apollo Crews would go one-on-one with one-half of The Authors of Pain, Akam, with Rezar in his corner. In the end, it was Apollo Crews surprising Akam with a roll-up, scoring the three-count to pick up the win. With an Intercontinental Title match against Dolph Ziggler coming up at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with Drew McIntyre, with Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler in his corner. During the match, Seth Rollins would connect with the Curb Stomp to Drew McIntyre but Dolph Ziggler would interfere as the match ends in a disqualification. However, Seth would battle back against the Intercontinental Champion, taking Dolph out with a dive to the outside as McIntyre is left enraged in the ring while Dolph lays at ringside, clutching his Intercontinental Title. Backstage, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and RAW Constable Baron Corbin confronts Roman Reigns to inform Roman that he has been told by RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon to escort Roman out of the arena! Roman refuses but the GM tells Reigns that, if Roman doesn’t comply, he will not get to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at SummerSlam! Reigns tells Kurt that the GM knows what it’s like to be in his position before Corbin calls for the police to escort Reigns out of the arena. Roman would have no choice but to leave with the officers but not before popping a grinning Baron Corbin with a right hand. Charly Caruso was then in the ring to conduct an interview with RAW Tag Team Champions The B-Team. When Charly brings up Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas calls them “sore losers” before Curtis Axel dares Matt & Bray to come out there. Matt & Bray do just that, appearing in the ring with the RAW Tag Team Champions. Matt says that it up to them to “mend the drapery of all space and time”. Bray then says that “dreams are fleeting” but nightmares are “real”, saying they are The B-Team’s “nightmare manifested”. Matt then says that they will “haunt” The B-Team until they are “deleted”. This brings out The Revival as Scott Dawson calls the two teams “delusional buffoons” before Dash Wilder says that defeated Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley. Dawson then tells Matt & Bray to step aside so that two “real top guys”. This leads to Bray Wyatt shoving Bo Dallas into The Revival and, while the RAW Tag Team Champions make a quick escape, The Revival and Matt & Bray brawl with Matt & Bray getting the better of The Revival. This would pave the way for an impromptu tag match as The Revival would face Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt with RAW Tag Team Champions The B-Team guests on commentary. In the end, it was The Revival hitting Bray Wyatt with the Shatter Machine as Scott Dawson pins Bray Wyatt to pick up the win. Backstage, an interview with Seth Rollins is interrupted by Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre as Dolph & Drew blindside Rollins, beating Seth down and leaving Seth laid out on the concrete. The newly reignited friendship of Sasha Banks and Bayley would be put to the test on RAW as Sasha & Bayley would face The Riott Squad’s Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan. During the match, Bayley would tag herself into the match and, with an assist from Sasha, Bayley would hit the Bayley-to-Bayley on Liv Morgan, pinning Liv to pick up the win for Sasha & Bayley. Backstage, after spending much of the night trying to convince Brock Lesnar to go out to the ring so that he can keep his job, Paul Heyman explains to the Universal Champion that Roman Reigns has been removed from the arena and, if Brock doesn’t go out to the ring, he might lose his job. Heyman then asks Brock to go out to the ring because Lesnar is his “friend”. This gets “The Beast” to stand up before Brock grabs his longtime advocate by the collar, telling Heyman that they’re not friends and that Heyman works for him, not the other way around. Brock then asks how long Heyman has been “leeching” off of him before telling his advocate to go out to the ring and do his job. RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and RAW Constable Baron Corbin then make their way to the ring. Kurt says that they have been waiting all night for Brock Lesnar to come out to the ring, telling Paul Heyman to bring Brock out to the ring or this will be Heyman’s last night on RAW. A dejected Paul Heyman makes his way to the ring, saying that Brock Lesnar is not coming to the ring tonight. Fed up with the shenanigans of Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman, Kurt says that a “real champion” shows up and defends his title at “all costs”, saying that a champion does things for charity but Brock Lesnar does “none of that”. The GM then says that Brock has to be the “worst Universal Champion of all-time” with Paul Heyman actually agreeing with Kurt. The advocate then goes on a tirade about trying to reform Brock Lesnar, saying that Brock only cares about himself and that he has tried to mold Lesnar into Kurt’s “image” but Lesnar won’t listen to him, urging the GM to take action against Brock Lesnar, not against him. However, Kurt isn’t buying it, telling the advocate that Heyman is “full of crap”. Heyman continues, saying that Brock doesn’t respect Kurt or the fans but he respects the GM. The advocate’s flattery would not work on the GM as Kurt tells Heyman that Heyman’s contract is “terminated” with Heyman literally groveling and begging for Kurt to reconsider. However, Heyman’s demeanor would change with the arrival of Universal Champion Brock Lesnar as “The Beast” slowly circles the ring before entering the ring and handing the title belt over to Heyman. Brock then grabs a microphone, getting in the face of both Kurt Angle and Baron Corbin, asking each of them if they’ve “got a problem” with him. Brock then puts his hands on the RAW General Manager, delivering an F-5 to Kurt Angle! Brock then stares down Constable Baron Corbin, who opts to leave the ring instead of trying to contend with the Universal Champion. With a big smile on his face, Heyman would hand the Universal Title back to Brock Lesnar, who at first grins before the champion grabs the advocate by the face, forcing Heyman to the mat as Heyman says that he can’t breathe. Brock then lets Heyman go before picking up his title belt and leaving the ring, having bullied both Kurt Angle and Paul Heyman. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
