WWE SmackDown LIVE Results: June 26, 2018By Cassidy| June 30, 2018 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results SmackDown LIVE kicks off with The Miz in the ring as “The A-Lister” would host Miz TV and his guests would be SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bludgeon Brothers. With the champions glaring at The Miz with hammers in hand, The Miz says that they proved last week just how “easy” it is to beat Daniel Bryan. The Miz then asks Harper & Rowan for an explanation but The Bludgeon Brothers stay silent. The Miz continues, saying that Daniel Bryan interrupted the tag team champions’ celebration last week, calling Daniel a “glory hound”. The Miz says that Bryan tried to steal their thunder with his “Yes” chants before claiming that Daniel was at “100%” when he beat him in the Gauntlet Match last week, saying that he “stole the spotlight”. The Miz then says that The Bludgeon Brothers seemingly want a spot in the new Miztourage before the tag team champions slap the microphone out of The Miz’s hand. This brings out Daniel Bryan, who tells The Miz to “shut up” before addressing The Bludgeon Brothers, saying that he’s “not afraid” of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions and he’s not afraid of The Miz. Daniel then asks which one of them is going to fight him first and, while The Miz takes off his jacket and Rowan begins to step forward, Harper halts Rowan. Harper grabs The Miz’s microphone with The Miz still holding it, telling Daniel that he never learns but, tonight, he’s going to learn as Harper accepts Daniel’s challenge for a one-on-one match. After winning the #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match last week to earn the right to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules in less than three weeks, the opening match of the night would see “The Lion of Bulgaria” Rusev, with Aiden English in his corner, going one-on-one with The New Day’s Xavier Woods, with Big E & Kofi Kingston in his corner. In the end, it was Rusev locking in the Accolade, making Xavier Woods tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Rusev says that tonight wasn’t about Xavier Woods, it was about AJ Styles, saying that the WWE Champion is “scared” and he proved that last week when he punched Aiden English in the face. Rusev then vows to take the WWE Title from AJ Styles at Extreme Rules, saying that it will be a “great Rusev Day” before Rusev & Aiden English leave the ring. Despite Shinsuke Nakamura being unable to compete due to injury, Jeff Hardy would still be looking for competition on SmackDown LIVE as Jeff Hardy would issue a United States Title Open Challenge and the Superstar to answer the challenge would be the leader of SAnitY, Eric Young, with Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe in his corner. During the match, The Usos would come out to ringside with revenge on their minds as The Usos brawl with Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe on the outside. This would bring Eric Young out into the fray and, after Jey Uso attacks Eric Young in the ring, the match would end by disqualification. Jeff Hardy then gets involved in the brawl, working with The Usos to clear the ring of SAnitY. This would pave the way for a 6-Man Tag match as United States Champion Jeff Hardy would team with The Usos to face all three members of SAnitY. In the end, it was Jeff Hardy hitting the Swanton Bomb on Alexander Wolfe, pinning Wolfe to pick up the win for his team. Following her victory over Billie Kay last week, Becky Lynch would be looking to continue her momentum as “The Irish Lass Kicker” would go one-on-one with Sonya Deville, with Mandy Rose in her corner. During the match, Becky Lynch would send Sonya Deville into Mandy Rose and this would give Becky Lynch the opening to take advantage as Becky would lock the Dis-Arm-Her in on Sonya Deville, making Sonya tap out to pick up the win. James Ellsworth then makes an appearance on SmackDown LIVE, saying that he stands up for what he believes in and Asuka attacked him for “no reason” last week. Ellsworth says that it’s a “man’s world” before saying that he “loves and respects women”, saying that his love life is so “hot”, you could “fry an egg” on it. Ellsworth then says that he wasn’t ready for Asuka last week, but he’s ready now before Ellsworth calls Asuka out. However, Ellsworth instead gets SmackDown LIVE General Manager Paige, saying that Ellsworth knows that Asuka isn’t here. Paige then announces that, at Extreme Rules, Asuka will challenge Carmella for the SmackDown Women’s Title! James Ellsworth argues that Asuka doesn’t “deserve” another title shot before saying that the GM is out there to ask him on a date. Paige responds by asking Ellsworth how next Tuesday sounds before saying that Ellsworth isn’t going on a “date” next week but rather a match as Ellsworth will face Asuka next week! Then it was time for the main event as Daniel Bryan would go one-on-one with one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions Harper, with Rowan in his corner. During the match, Daniel Bryan would lock in the Yes Lock on Harper but Rowan is quick to attack Daniel, ending the match by disqualification. After the match, The Bludgeon Brothers would proceed to beat Daniel Bryan down. However, a demon from Daniel’s past would make his unexpected return to Tuesday nights as “The Big Red Machine” Kane would make his way to the ring! Kane would tee off on the SmackDown Tag Team Champions but Harper & Rowan would overwhelm Kane before Daniel Bryan gets involved, taking Rowan out with the running knee before Kane plants Harper with a chokeslam. This leaves Daniel staring quizzically at Kane with Kane extending his arms as the crowd encourages the two former partners to “hug it out”! While Daniel is initially reluctant, Team Hell No would reunite with a hug in the middle of the ring with both men leading the crowd in a “yes” chant! This brings Paige out to the stage, who announces that, at Extreme Rules, The Bludgeon Brothers will defend the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Team Hell No! Daniel Bryan & Kane then celebrate in the ring as the popular tag team reunites with a shot at the tag titles in their future at Extreme Rules. What did you think of this week’s SmackDown LIVE?
