WWE RAW Results: May 7, 2018By Cassidy| May 9, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results With ladders on the stage, RAW kicks off with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. Kurt says that WWE never stops before saying that he is excited for next month’s Money-in-the-Bank pay-per-view. The GM then announces that both RAW and SmackDown LIVE will have two Money-in-the-Bank Ladder matches at WWE Money-in-the-Bank, one for the men and one for the women! Kurt then announces that, tonight, they are going to have two Money-in-the-Bank Qualifying Matches as Ember Moon, Ruby Riott, and Sasha Banks will compete in a Triple Threat Match to decide the first spot in the Women’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. Also in a Triple Threat Match, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, and Sami Zayn will compete for the right to take part in the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. Kurt is then interrupted by the arrival of “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman, who makes his way to the ring. After telling a story about knocking a treehouse over when he was a kid, Kurt says that Braun has been a major roll lately and, if anyone deserves a spot in the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, it’s Strowman. This brings out Kevin Owens, who says that he deserves a spot in the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, saying that he’s the “MVP” of RAW. Owens then says that he “respects the rules” unlike Braun Strowman, saying that Braun pinned the illegal man at Backlash. Owens then says that he should be given a spot in the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match before calling Braun a “bad monster”. Braun says that all Owens deserves is to “get these hands” before Owens says that Kurt should make the smart decision, telling Kurt that Stephanie McMahon is watching and the GM should announce that he is the first Superstar in the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. However, Kurt doesn’t give in to the veiled threat, announcing that Braun Strowman will face Kevin Owens in a Money-in-the-Bank Qualifying Match and it will start right now! The opening match of the night would be a Money-in-the-Bank Qualifying Match as Kevin Owens would go one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman with the winner earning a spot in the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. While Kevin Owens would do everything in his power to try and defeat Braun Strowman, including getting the win by count-out, “The Monster Among Men” would use his power to overwhelm Owens, hitting Owens with the running powerslam, pinning Owens to gain entry into the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match! In 6-Man Tag action, No Way Jose would team with Titus O’Neil & Apollo Crews, with Dana Brooke in their corner, to face the team of Baron Corbin and The Revival. In the end, it was Baron Corbin hitting No Way Jose with the End of Days, pinning Jose to pick up the win for his team. A Triple Threat Match would then decide the first of eight spots in the Women’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match as Sasha Banks, Ember Moon, and Ruby Riott, with Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan in her corner, would compete with the first Superstar to score a pinfall or submission gaining entry in the Women’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. During a hard-fought match, Sasha Banks would counter a hurrincanrana by Ruby Riott into a pinfall attempt and this is when Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan would take advantage of the Triple Threat rules, breaking up the pinfall. Morgan & Logan then beat Sasha down on the outside before Bayley comes to the aid of “The Boss” as the former best friends work together to take out Morgan & Logan. Shortly after this, Ember Moon would come off of the top rope with the Eclipse to both Sasha Banks and Ruby Riott, pinning Riott to pick up the win, earning her spot in the Women’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match! In a rematch from a couple of weeks ago, Chad Gable would go one-on-one with Jinder Mahal, with Sunil Singh in his corner. In the end, it was Jinder Mahal hitting Chad Gable with the Khallas, pinning Gable to pick up the win. After the match, Jinder Mahal would attack Chad Gable, literally kicking Gable out of the ring. In tag team action, Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre would face Heath Slater & Rhyno on RAW. In the end, it was Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre hitting the Zig Zag/Claymore Kick on Heath Slater with McIntyre pinning Slater to pick up the win for his team. After Bobby Roode was one of the many Superstars to interrupt Elias’ performance at Backlash, where he hit Elias with the Glorious DDT, RAW would see “Glorious” Bobby Roode go one-on-one with Elias in the latest of their series of matches. In the end, it was Bobby Roode hitting the Glorious DDT on Elias, pinning Elias to pick up the win. After successfully defending the Intercontinental Title against The Miz in a show-stealing performance at Backlash, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins would make an appearance on RAW. Seth says that he wants to be the champion that The Miz can only “pretend to be”, saying that he’s a “fighting champion”. Rollins then says that Money-in-the-Bank is not his focus right now as his focus is making the Intercontinental Title “the title” on RAW. The Intercontinental Champion then issues an open challenge to anyone who wants to challenge him right now for the Intercontinental Title. This brings out Mojo Rawley, who says that this is the RAW debut that he deserves, saying that he “knocks people down”. Mojo then vows to take the title from Seth Rollins before saying that he is going to win the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, declaring that this is “Monday Night Rawley”. In an impromptu title defense, Seth Rollins would defend the Intercontinental Championship against Mojo Rawley on RAW. In the end, it was Seth Rollins hitting Mojo Rawley with the Curb Stomp, pinning Mojo to successfully retain the Intercontinental Title. The RAW Tag Team Champions were in action on RAW as Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt would face Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel in a non-title match. In the end, it was Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt hitting a double team Sister Abigail on Curtis Axel with Matt pinning Axel to pick up the win for the RAW Tag Team Champions. Then it was time for the main event as, in a Triple Threat Match, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and Roman Reigns would compete for a spot in the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match as the first Superstar to score a pinfall or submission will join Braun Strowman and six to-be-named Superstars in the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. During the match, Finn Balor and Sami Zayn would form an unlikely alliance to try and take Roman Reigns out of the match. This would lead the three competitors into the crowd where Sami Zayn would deliver the Helluva Kick to Roman, sending “The Big Dog” into the tech area before Finn Balor connects with the Coup de Grace to Reigns on the floor! With Roman out of commission for the time being, Finn and Sami would return to the ring to battle amongst themselves. Roman Reigns would ultimately return to the fray, taking Sami Zayn out with the Superman Punch before catching Finn with a Superman Punch as well. Roman then sizes Finn up for the Spear, but this is when Jinder Mahal would get involved, tripping “The Big Dog” and, after Sami catches Roman with the Helluva Kick, Finn would take advantage, hitting Sami with the Coup de Grace to pick up the win and qualify for the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match!
