WWE RAW Results: May 28, 2018By Cassidy| May 29, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with one of the eight Superstars who will compete in the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match in a few weeks and likely the biggest threat in the match, “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. Braun says that, when he sees the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase, he gets “motivated” because he knows that the contract inside guarantees him a shot at the Universal Title any time he wants it. Braun then says that, at Money-in-the-Bank, he “destroys” seven other competitors before becoming “Mr. Monster-in-the-Bank”, saying that no one will be able to stop him from winning the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, vowing that, after he wins, Brock Lesnar is going to “get these hands”. This brings out fellow Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match competitor Finn Balor, saying that he is “determined” to get back to the top. Finn then says that he is going to take back what is his before saying that he gave Braun everything last week, saying that it’s going to be every man for himself come Money-in-the-Bank. Strowman responds by saying that Finn put up a pretty good fight for a “little guy”. Finn responds by slapping “The Monster Among Men” across the face and Braun fires back by tossing Balor across the ring before Finn rolls out of the ring. This brings out RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, who makes a rematch between Finn Balor and Braun Strowman to take place right now! Per the orders of Kurt Angle, the opening match of the night would see Finn Balor go one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman with fellow Money-in-the-Bank competitor Kevin Owens a guest on commentary. During the match, Kevin Owens would decide to grab a microphone to try and encourage Braun Strowman to destroy Finn Balor, telling Braun that he can “do better than that”. Later on in the match, Braun Strowman would show his power, getting a full head of steam before blasting Finn Balor with a shoulder tackle on the outside, sending Finn over the barricade into the crowd. However, after Finn sends Braun into the ring post, Finn would start to battle back and this is when Kevin Owens would again grab a microphone, this time shouting encouragement at Finn Balor. Finn would get the better of “The Monster Among Men” with a flurry of his best moves, even scoring with the Coup de Grace. However, when Finn goes to the top rope for a second Coup de Grace, Kevin Owens knocks Finn off of the top rope, ending the match in a disqualification. On the outside, Owens would pull a ladder out from under the ring, using the ladder as a weapon against Finn Balor, driving the ladder into the mid-section of Balor. Owens then brings the ladder into the ring but Braun takes the ladder away from Owens, shoving Owens down. Owens the rolls out of the ring before Braun hurls the ladder at Owens who, thankfully, just manages to avoid getting hit with the ladder before Owens flees to the back. A performance by Elias is then interrupted by Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins and, before Seth’s scheduled title defense, Rollins would toss Elias’ stool out of the ring, signaling Elias to leave with Elias reluctantly complying. The Intercontinental Championship match would then get underway as Seth Rollins would defend the prestigious title against “The Modern Day Maharaja” Jinder Mahal, with Sunil Singh in his corner. During the match, Seth Rollins would size Jinder Mahal up for the Curb Stomp but Sunil Singh would grab the leg of the champion. The referee would spot Sunil’s involvement and would eject Singh from ringside but, as the referee’s attention is on Sunil Singh, Jinder would grab a steel chair, delivering a chair shot to the mid-section of Seth Rollins. Jinder then gets back into the ring to go for the pinfall but Seth would manage to kick out! Despite being ejected from ringside moments earlier, Sunil Singh would again get involved, this time getting on the ring apron. Fed up with Sunil’s involvement, Seth Rollins would bring Sunil into the ring and, after hitting Jinder with a super kick, Seth would pick Sunil up and toss Sunil right into Jinder with a buckle bomb! Rollins would then let his emotions get the better of him as Seth would grab a steel chair from ringside to exact some payback on Jinder Mahal, attacking Jinder with the chair to end the match by disqualification. Rollins then delivers a chair shot to the shoulder of “The Modern Day Maharaja”, sending Jinder out of the ring. Seth wasn’t through, however, as Rollins would follow Jinder to the outside, continuing to waylay Jinder with steel chair shots all the way up the ramp. Sunil Singh then grabs the leg of the Intercontinental Champion and Seth would make Sunil pay the price, delivering a chair shot to the back of Sunil. This would give Jinder the opportunity to escape to the back before Seth Rollins stands atop the announce table with steel chair in hand. However, this is when Elias would attack out of nowhere, smashing his guitar over the back of Seth Rollins, sending Rollins off of the announce table and all the way off of the stage! Referees, agents, and EMT’s then try to put Seth Rollins on a stretcher, but the Intercontinental Champion would refuse medical assistance, getting off of the stretcher and hobbling to the back. RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax would then make her way to the ring but not before being upstaged by her Money-in-the-Bank opponent Ronda Rousey, who takes her seat to be a guest on commentary. In a unique display, Nia Jax would ask her opponent to try and put an armbar on the champion and the local competitor would apply her best armbar but Nia would easily power out. Nia then continues to taunt Rousey before delivering a Samoan Drop to Michelle Webb and squashing Webb with a big leg drop. Nia then tells Ronda that Ronda has never faced anything like Nia Jax in UFC, saying that she could easily crush a woman’s chest with her leg drop. The RAW Women’s Champion then hits a rolling senton on her opponent before daring Rousey to come down to the ring and help Michelle Webb. Ronda shows no fear of Nia Jax, coming down to the ring and staring down the RAW Women’s Champion. Nia then gets in the face of Rousey, saying that she’s not “intimidated” before literally laughing at Ronda Rousey and leaving the ring. The RAW Tag Team Champions were in action on RAW as Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt would face The Ascension in a non-title match. In the end, it was Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt hitting Viktor with the Kiss of Deletion with Matt pinning Viktor to pick up the win for the RAW Tag Team Champions. Two of the eight competitors in the Men’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match would square off on RAW as “Glorious” Bobby Roode would go one-on-one with Kevin Owens. In the end, it was Kevin Owens countering a roll-up attempt, keeping Bobby Roode down for the three-count. After the match, Braun Strowman would come out for some revenge on Kevin Owens as Bobby Roode would keep Kevin Owens from escaping as “The Monster Among Men” would plant Kevin Owens with the running powerslam in the ring. With the encourage of Bobby Roode and the crowd, Braun then delivers a second running powerslam to Kevin Owens before Strowman grabs Bobby Roode, planting “The Glorious One” with a running powerslam as well before Braun leaves the ring. After last week’s farce where Sami Zayn brought out three men dressed as Bobby Lashley’s sisters, Sami Zayn would appear on RAW to issue a “public apology”. Sami says that he went a “little too far” last week and WWE management has given him time to issue a public apology. Sami then puts on his reading glasses and pulls out a written apology, saying that his interview last week was described as “brutal” and “cringe-worthy”. Sami continues, saying that he “lied” to the fans last week, saying that those were not Bobby Lashley’s real sisters before saying he’s sorry to the Bobby Lashley family, WWE management, and the fans. Sami then says that his expose on Bobby Lashley was “rooted in reality” and history will look back on last week’s segment “very favorably”. Sami then says that the fans should be feeling sorry for him, saying that he deserves more than having to stand in the ring and having to issue a public apology. This brings Bobby Lashley down to the ring, saying that they should “settle it like men”, challenging Sami to a match at WWE Money-in-the-Bank. Sami then shakes Lashley’s hand to accept the match before Sami vows to kick Bobby Lashley’s face off at Money-in-the-Bank before Lashley squeezes the hand of Zayn, bringing Sami to his knees as Lashley tells Sami that he wants to “apologize” for what he is going to do to Sami Zayn at Money-in-the-Bank before Lashley leaves the ring. After Dolph Ziggler defeated Chad Gable last week, Drew McIntyre would be looking to do the same as McIntyre would face Chad Gable on RAW. In the end, it was Drew McIntyre connecting with the Claymore Kick to Chad Gable, pinning Gable for the win. The B-Team would then host a B-Team BBQ for Memorial Day with other tag teams on the roster but the festivities would end with a food fight amongst the tag teams, ending with The B-Team beating Rhyno down before putting Rhyno through a table. Then it was time for the main event as seven women would compete in a Last Chance Money-in-the-Bank Qualifying Gauntlet Match as Sasha Banks, Bayley, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Mickie James, and Dana Brooke would each compete in a series of one-on-one matches and, when one Superstar is defeated, another Superstar will come out and this would continue until all seven women have entered the match. The first pairing would see Bayley going one-on-one with The Riott Squad’s Liv Morgan with Bayley making quick work of Liv Morgan, hitting Liv with the Bayley-to-Belly and pinning Liv to advance in the Gauntlet Match. The second part of the Gauntlet Match would see Bayley face The Riott Squad’s Sarah Logan, taking little time to roll-up and eliminate Sarah Logan. However, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan would then assault Bayley, leaving Bayley prone for their leader, Ruby Riott, in the third part of the Gauntlet Match. Riott would take advantage, hitting the Riott Kick to eliminate Bayley from the Gauntlet Match. Shortly after this, Ruby Riott would keep on rolling with a Riott Kick to Dana Brooke, advancing to face Richmond’s own Mickie James in the Gauntlet Match. Ruby Riott would continue her impressive performance in the Gauntlet Match by rolling up Mickie James and hooking the tights to score the three-count. This brings it down to Ruby Riott facing Sasha Banks in the final portion of the Gauntlet Match. Despite the interference of Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan, Sasha Banks would still trap Ruby Riott in the Bank Statement, making Riott tap out to pick up the win as “The Boss” wins the Gauntlet Match to earn the final spot in the Women’s Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match as it will be Ember Moon, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Lana, Naomi, and Sasha Banks battling for the briefcase in just under three weeks in Chicago.
