WWE RAW Results: April 2, 2018By Cassidy| April 5, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with Jonathan Coachman in the ring as “The Coach” would serve as the mediator for the face-off between “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle and their WrestleMania opponents Stephanie McMahon & Triple H. Coachman first introduces RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and her husband, WWE COO Triple H, who make their way to the ring. “The Coach” then introduces WWE Hall of Famer and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and Kurt’s tag team partner, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, who also make their way to the ring with all four competitors taking their seats at their respective tables. Jonathan Coachman then says that he is going to read some questions asked by fans on social media, but Triple H cuts Coachman off, responding to the fans chanting for Ronda Rousey by saying that they will be silent after WrestleMania, saying that he’s never gotten “intelligence” from Kurt Angle. Triple H then says that Kurt has set Rousey up for a “loss” on the grand stage of WrestleMania before asking Kurt “why?” However, Kurt’s response is interrupted by Ronda Rousey, who has a question of her own, asking why Triple H & Stephanie were so “two-faced” by signing her to a WWE contract despite having “ulterior motives”. Stephanie responds by saying that they are going to “polish” Ronda up after they “re-build” her career after they beat her this Sunday at WrestleMania. The RAW Commissioner then asks Jonathan Coachman for the first question, but Ronda doesn’t let her question go unanswered, saying that she understands the format, saying it’s a “Q&A”, saying that she asked a question and she wants an answer. Stephanie says that they signed Rousey because she’s a “big star” and, despite her “appalling attitude”, they brought her to WWE because she is what is “best for business”. Stephanie then says that Kurt Angle has “derailed” Ronda’s career before saying that Kurt works for her and Ronda works for her before asking Rousey who the hell she thinks she is. Kurt responds on Ronda’s behalf, saying that she’s “Ronda freakin’ Rousey” and she’s an Olympic medalist, a UFC champion, and, at WrestleMania, she is going to make Stephanie “tap out”! Triple H says that what Rousey has accomplished outside of WWE means “nothing” and, while Ronda has dreamed of coming to WWE her whole life, WWE is his and Stephanie’s whole life. Triple H then says that they are confident because they know the rules and they make the rules, saying that it’s a foregone conclusion that Rousey is going to “lose” this Sunday. Jonathan Coachman then asks the first question to Triple H & Stephanie, asking how important it is to both of them to win at WrestleMania and how will it impact the future of WWE. Stephanie says that they will “shut you down” and Ronda Rousey, as well as everyone in the locker room, will learn to “respect authority”. Coachman then asks Kurt Angle how he feels about teaming up with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania. Angle says that Rousey is “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” and she is going to prove it this Sunday by making Stephanie “tap out”. Coachman’s final question is for both teams, asking if they have any final thoughts before WrestleMania. Stephanie says that Ronda Rousey is going to lose at WrestleMania and the whole world knows how Ronda handles losses. Ronda responds by asking if Stephanie is left or right-handed, saying that she wants to make sure that Stephanie can still sign her checks after she rips Stephanie’s arm off this Sunday! Coachman then calls for a photo op between the two teams, bringing photographers into the ring as the two sides confront each other. Triple H and Kurt Angle shake hands with each other, but there is obvious tension between Ronda and Stephanie with the Commissioner pointing and shouting at Rousey before Rousey gets right in Stephanie’s face. Kurt then steps in to try and keep the peace but, in doing so, the WWE Hall of Famer would make the mistake of turning his back on Triple H, who pops Kurt in the back of the head with a microphone, knocking the GM out of the ring! Rousey then grabs Triple H by the throat but Stephanie grabs Ronda and slams Rousey through one of the tables! Stephanie then stands over Rousey, badmouthing the former UFC Bantamweight Champion before Triple H & Stephanie leave the ring, looking strong heading into WrestleMania this Sunday. Before they are both a part of the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal this Sunday, Bayley would go one-on-one with Absolution’s Sonya Deville, with Paige & Mandy Rose in her corner, in the opening match of the night. In the end, it was Bayley rolling Sonya Deville up for the three-count. After the match, Mandy Rose would attack Bayley, leading to a two-on-one beatdown by Mandy & Sonya. However, despite the fight between the two last week, Sasha Banks would make the save for Bayley, disposing of Mandy Rose before Sasha and Bayley work together to toss Sonya out of the ring as well. Sasha then tells Bayley to raise her hand but Bayley says that she didn’t need Sasha’s help. This would lead to the former best friends duking it out again but, this time, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville would take advantage with Sonya dropping Bayley with a kick to the head before Mandy slams Sasha face-first, leaving Absolution standing tall heading into WrestleMania. With Intercontinental Champion The Miz a guest on commentary, his two opponents in the Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship would go one-on-one on RAW as Finn Balor would go one-on-one with Seth Rollins. At the end of an incredible match, it was Seth Rollins finally putting Finn Balor away with the Curb Stomp, pinning Finn for the win. After the match, The Miz would stand on top of the announce table, holding up the Intercontinental Title as Seth Rollins stares The Miz down. Before they defend the RAW Tag Team Titles against Braun Strowman and a partner of his choosing at WrestleMania this Sunday, RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus would appear on RAW. Sheamus says that it doesn’t matter to them who Braun picks as his partner with Cesaro explaining that this is a tag team match and, sooner or later, Braun will have to tag in his tag team partner. Sheamus then says that Braun and his partner need to be on the same page before saying that Strowman and his partner will never be a “real team” and they will never get the titles. This brings Braun Strowman out to the stage, who admits that he doesn’t “play well with others” but, since management has made it clear that he has to have a tag team partner for WrestleMania, he got one. Braun then says that he was just talking to his tag team partner in the back and he doesn’t appreciate what Cesaro & Sheamus have been saying. Cesaro responds by saying that, if Braun’s tag team partner has a problem with them, then why doesn’t Braun’s tag team partner come out there and say it to their faces. Strowman says that his tag team partner will do that but under one stipulation and that stipulation is a match with either Cesaro or Sheamus. Cesaro & Sheamus then briefly discuss the matter with each other before Sheamus agrees to this stipulation! Braun then says that he is going to go and get his tag team partner but not before warning Cesaro & Sheamus that his tag team partner is “a lot like me”. Braun then heads to the back and, after a short wait, Braun comes back out, but in disguise, wearing a white shirt and glasses, saying that he’s Braun’s brother “Brains” and he’s about to knock one of their brains out. “Brains” then gets in the ring before ripping off the disguise and this is when Cesaro & Sheamus would attack Braun, beating Strowman down with Sheamus taking Braun down to one knee with the Brogue Kick before the RAW Tag Team Champions continue to pummel “The Monster Among Men”. Braun then fights back, using his power to take it to Cesaro & Sheamus, tossing Cesaro across the ring before the champions head for higher ground as Braun is left standing tall in the ring. Before they are both a part of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania, “Woken” Matt Hardy would go one-on-one with “The Bizarre One” Goldust on RAW. In the end, it was “Woken” Matt Hardy hitting the Twist of Fate on Goldust, pinning Goldust for the win. After the match, Matt would chant “procure” on the outside before hugging the Andre The Giant trophy. Having repeatedly challenged, as well as insulted, The Undertaker in recent weeks in the hopes of facing “The Deadman” at WrestleMania with no response from The Undertaker, John Cena would make an appearance on RAW for one final attempt to get a match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania this Sunday. Cena says that he was wrong and that The Undertaker’s “silence” means “no”, saying that some people might be upset at that news but he’s not. Cena then says that he did everything he possibly could to get The Undertaker to “do something” before saying that he’s not going to enter the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal or any other scheduled match at WrestleMania because he would be taking a spot away from a full-time WWE Superstar who has “earned” their spot at WrestleMania. Cena continues, saying a match against The Undertaker is a WrestleMania worthy match but it’s also a match where neither of them could be blamed for taking anyone’s spot. Cena then says that there are things outside WWE that change his life every single day before saying that, maybe, it’s time for a “change” at this year’s WrestleMania. Cena then says that he is “damn proud” to be going to WrestleMania as a “fan” before saying that he wants to “apologize” for The Undertaker, saying that he and the fans have tried their best to get a response out of The Undertaker. Cena then points out that they haven’t tried in Atlanta yet before making one last pitch to The Undertaker, saying that it’s obvious that The Undertaker left his hat in the ring but it’s clear to everyone in Atlanta that he left his “balls at home”. Cena then looks around before nodding his head in clear disappointment before Cena leaves the ring as The Undertaker again remains silent. As he prepares for the performance of his career at WrestleMania, Elias would go one-on-one with Heath Slater, with Rhyno in his corner, on RAW. In the end, it was Elias hitting Heath Slater with the Drift Away, pinning Heath for the win. Before she defends the RAW Women’s Title against former best friend Nia Jax at WrestleMania this Sunday, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Mickie James would face the team of “The Empress of Tomorrow” Asuka and Dana Brooke in tag team action. In the end, it was Asuka locking in the Asuka Lock on Mickie James, making Mickie tap out to pick up the win for her team. After the match, Alexa and Mickie would beat Asuka down before Dana tries to make the save, only for Alexa and Mickie to take Dana out with a double DDT. Nia Jax then rushes out for a piece of Alexa Bliss but, just when it looked like Nia would get her hands on Alexa, Mickie James would attack Nia from behind, which would let Alexa escape her WrestleMania opponent. Nia would then take this opportunity to send a message to Alexa Bliss ahead of WrestleMania as Nia squashes Mickie in the corner before planting Mickie with a Samoan Drop. Nia then stares Alexa down, ready for their title match at WrestleMania. Before he defends the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns this Sunday at WrestleMania, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, with advocate Paul Heyman by his side, would make an appearance on RAW with a collection of RAW Superstars standing on the ramp to try and keep Roman Reigns away from the ring. Paul Heyman says that Kurt Angle has “no control”, saying that the Universal Champion has all the control. Heyman then says that “the truth” is that Brock Lesnar will F-5 Roman Reigns and pin him in the middle of the ring at WrestleMania. The advocate continues, saying that if Roman somehow wins the Universal Title this Sunday, then this will be the last time that they will see Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman on RAW! Heyman then says that Roman Reigns’ only choice is to “accept defeat” before saying that Roman’s options are like his ass, saying that they are “both owned by Brock Lesnar”. Heyman then declares that Roman will have to tell his family that he got “conquered” by Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania before saying that the truth is that Roman Reigns is just Brock Lesnar’s “bitch”. This brings Roman Reigns out to the stage with the collection of RAW Superstars blocking Roman’s path. Reigns says that they are “full-time talent” before asking if they are going to “protect that part-time bastard”. The group then discuss it before deciding to stand aside and let Roman Reigns through as Roman enters the ring with he and Brock circling each other. However, Brock Lesnar would slide out of the ring and grab his title before Brock changes his mind, grabbing a steel chair and getting back in the ring. Roman is quick to pounce on the Universal Champion before Brock can use the weapon, dropping Lesnar with a trio of Superman Punches with “The Beast” stumbling to his feet and grabbing the chair, only to get hit with a fourth Superman Punch! Brock then gets to his feet with the steel chair in his hands but Reigns levels Brock with a fifth Superman Punch, leaving Lesnar down. Roman then picks up the Universal Title, holding the title up high but Reigns would make the mistake of taking his focus off of Brock Lesnar and “The Beast” would make his WrestleMania opponent pay, leveling “The Big Dog” with the F-5! Brock Lesnar then grabs his title and hobbles up the ramp with Paul Heyman by his side as the Universal Champion proves that he will do whatever it takes to hang onto the Universal Title at WrestleMania this Sunday.
