WWE RAW Results: April 16, 2018By Cassidy| April 18, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results On what would undoubtedly be an exciting night for the WWE Hall of Famer, RAW kicks off with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. Kurt welcomes everyone to RAW and to the Superstar Shake-Up, promising some “big surprises”. However, the GM is quickly interrupted by Sunil Singh, who introduces the newest arrival to RAW as United States Champion Jinder Mahal is the first Superstar to come to RAW in the Superstar Shake-Up as “The Modern Day Maharaja” brings the United States Championship with him to Monday nights! Jinder congratulates Kurt on making the “greatest decision” during his time as RAW General Manager before the United States Champion complains about not getting a limousine. Jinder then says that he proved that he is “better” than every Superstar on SmackDown LIVE and he’s already proven that he’s “better” than every Superstar on RAW as well. Jinder continues, saying that this is his “kingdom” and he demands the same “perks” that the GM gives Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Kurt refuses, saying that, if Jinder thinks that he is better than everyone else, then he is going to prove it right now! Much to the chagrin of RAW’s newest acquisition, the GM then asks for anyone to come out and face “The Modern Day Maharaja”, even announcing that the United States Title will be on the line! With a referee in the ring, the challenge would then be answered by the man who made his surprise return last week, Jeff Hardy, as “The Extreme Enigma” would challenge Jinder Mahal for the United States Title in the opening match of the night! After several close calls and after fighting off interference from Sunil Singh, Jeff Hardy would hit Jinder Mahal with the Twist of Fate, following it up with the Swanton Bomb, pinning “The Modern Day Maharaja” to become the brand new United States Champion! After the match, Jeff Hardy would celebrate with the United States Title as Jinder Mahal is left seething at ringside, having had his grand return to RAW ruined by Jeff Hardy. The animosity between former best friends Sasha Banks and Bayley would then come to a head as “The Boss” Sasha Banks would go one-on-one with Bayley. During a heated contest that would briefly break down into a brawl, Sasha Banks would lock in the Bank Statement on Bayley, but with Bayley close to tapping out, The Riott Squad would interfere as Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, & Sarah Logan would put the boots to “The Boss” before RAW’s newest Superstars would pick Sasha apart with Sarah Logan hitting Sasha with a vicious headbutt before Liv Morgan follows it up with the double knees to the face! The Riott Squad then target Bayley, giving Bayley the same treatment as Ruby Riott takes Bayley out with the Riott Kick. The trio then stand tall, proud of their handiwork as The Riott Squad make an emphatic statement upon their Monday night arrival, having prevented any resolution in the rivalry between Sasha Banks and Bayley. In a rematch from last week, Heath Slater & Rhyno would face RAW’s newest tag team, The Authors of Pain. In the end, it was The Authors of Pain hitting Rhyno with the Last Chapter with Akam pinning Rhyno to pick up the win for the former NXT Tag Team Champions. The Miz & The Miztourage would then host Miz TV with The Miz to feature the newest arrival to RAW in the Superstar Shake-Up as his guest. The Miz welcomes everyone to Miz TV before wasting little time in getting down to business as The Miz reveals that he actually has more than one guest, saying that his guests are the newest addition to RAW and they will cause a “seismic shift” for RAW. However, once The Miz introduces his guests, a lot of questions would arise as, after failing to earn a spot on the RAW roster last week to remain unemployed, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn would be introduced as the newest members of the RAW roster! Owens & Zayn would gleefully hug The Miz & The Miztourage before The Miz says that standing in the ring is “the finest collection of talent ever assembled in one place”. The Miz then says that they are “better than the nWo”, saying that the five of them are WWE’s answer to The Avengers. The Miz continues, saying that they are “re-shaping” RAW in their image, saying that they are putting the RAW locker room “on notice”. The Miz is then interrupted by RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, who says that The Miz doesn’t have any control around here, saying that Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn had their opportunity to earn a spot on the RAW roster last week and they failed. Sami Zayn then pulls out a printout of an email, putting on his glasses before reading the email as the email reads that letting Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn walk away would be a “mistake of epic proportions”. Sami continues reading the email, revealing that Kurt has been overruled and Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn have been awarded RAW contracts, revealing that the email is from Kurt’s boss, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon! Kevin Owens proudly proclaims that he and Sami Zayn are officially back on RAW and there is “nothing” that Kurt Angle can do about it. The Miz then mocks the look on Kurt’s face before the GM says that he’s surprised that Stephanie had time to send an email, saying that he thought the Commissioner would be doing around-the-clock physical therapy after Ronda Rousey nearly ripped Stephanie’s arm out of its socket last week! Kurt then says that what’s done is done before congratulating Owens & Zayn, telling Owens & Zayn to say “goodbye” to The Miz. Kurt then explains that he just got off of the phone with SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon and new SmackDown General Manager Paige, saying that former General Manager Daniel Bryan was very “adamant” about bringing The Miz over to SmackDown LIVE, saying that Daniel still has some “pull” on SmackDown LIVE. A disgruntled Miz says that Kurt Angle can’t do that with the GM commenting that he can do that and he did do that. The Miz says that sending him to SmackDown LIVE would make SmackDown LIVE the “A show”, saying that he and The Miztourage will do exactly what they did on RAW by making SmackDown LIVE the “most must-see television of all-time”. Kurt responds by informing The Miz that The Miztourage isn’t going anywhere, revealing that The Miz is going to SmackDown LIVE by himself while The Miztourage will remain on RAW! The GM then announces that, before The Miz goes to SmackDown LIVE, The Miz will be a part of a huge 10-Man Tag main event as The Miz, The Miztourage, Kevin Owens, & Sami Zayn will face the team of Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, and a to-be-named Superstar who will be making their RAW debut! In the final match of the Tag Team Eliminator, “Woken” Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt would face The Revival with Cesaro & Sheamus guests on commentary as the winners will face Cesaro & Sheamus for the vacant RAW Tag Team Titles at The Greatest Royal Rumble. In the end, it was “Woken” Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt hitting a double team Twist of Fate on Dash Wilder with Matt pinning Dash to pick up the win for his team as Matt & Bray will face Cesaro & Sheamus at The Greatest Royal Rumble a week from Friday to determine the new RAW Tag Team Champions. With RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax on commentary while Alexa Bliss would refuse to be on commentary and would instead comment from backstage, former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon would go one-on-one with Mickie James on RAW. In the end, it was Ember Moon hitting the Eclipse on Mickie James, pinning Mickie for the win. After Breezango and Natalya were revealed as arriving on RAW in the Superstar Shake-Up, a former World Champion would come over from SmackDown LIVE to RAW as “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler would arrive on RAW. Dolph says that he is the best Superstar to walk the aisle before saying that one thing has changed. However, “The Show Off” is interrupted by Titus Worldwide as Apollo Crews & Titus O’Neil, along with Dana Brooke, make their way to the ring. Titus would give Dolph his card, offering Dolph the opportunity to join Titus Worldwide. Dolph would throw the business card back in Titus’ face as he says that he didn’t come back to RAW “alone”. This is when former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre would attack Titus Worldwide from behind! Drew and Dolph would then work together to take out Titus Worldwide, sending Titus O’Neil into the ring post before Dolph blasts Titus with a super kick. McIntyre then pummels Apollo before Dolph picks Apollo up so that Dolph and Drew can hit Crews with the devastating combination of the Zig Zag and the Claymore kick! Ziggler and McIntyre then leave the ring together, having formed a dangerous new alliance that no one could have expected. As he prepares to face Brock Lesnar in a Steel Cage rematch for the Universal Championship at The Greatest Royal Rumble a week from Friday, “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns would appear on RAW. Roman says that he is going to leave Brock Lesnar in the steel cage before vowing to come back to RAW as the “full-time” Universal Champion. Roman is then interrupted by his Backlash opponent Samoa Joe. Joe says that Reigns likes to brag about showing up to work but Roman doesn’t brag about getting the job done because he doesn’t get the job done and he never will. Joe then says that Reigns is “too stupid” to learn his place and Roman won’t learn until someone puts him down, vowing to put Roman “to sleep” at Backlash. Reigns responds by daring Joe to come down there and show him what Joe’s “lazy fat ass” can do. Joe would then twice make his way down the ramp before opting to save the fight for Backlash. With Paige announcing her retirement and becoming the SmackDown LIVE General Manager last week, Absolution would be without their mentor as Mandy Rose, with Sonya Deville in her corner, would go one-on-one with new RAW acquisition Natalya. In the end, it was Natalya locking in the Sharpshooter, making Mandy Rose tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Sonya Deville would attack Natalya from behind and Absolution would put the boots to Natalya. However, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey would make the save, chasing Absolution out of the ring. However, Sonya Deville would decide to get back in the ring to try and trade hands with “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” and Rousey is quick to dispatch Sonya, taking Sonya out before Rousey checks on Natalya. Following a confrontation with Cesaro & Sheamus backstage, new RAW arrivals Breezango would face Cesaro & Sheamus on RAW. During the match, Fandango would take Sheamus off of the ring apron and this would be enough for Tyler Breeze to surprise Cesaro with a roll-up, scoring the three-count to pick up the upset win for Breezango! Then it was time for the main event as the team of The Miz, The Miztourage, Kevin Owens, & Sami Zayn would face the team of Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Bobby Lashley, Braun Strowman, and a mystery partner who would be the newest arrival to RAW in the Superstar Shake-Up in a 10-Man Tag match. That mystery partner is then revealed to be a “glorious” one as “The Glorious” Bobby Roode arrives on RAW! During the match, The Miz would find himself having to contend with Braun Strowman and, when “The A-Lister” tries to tag out, both Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas would refuse the tag before The Miztourage walks out on The Miz! This would leave Miz at the mercy of Braun Strowman as “The Monster Among Men” would plant The Miz with the running powerslam, pinning The Miz to pick up the win for his team as Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, and Bobby Roode are left standing tall.
