WWE RAW Results: February 19, 2018By Cassidy| February 20, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After RAW ring announcer JoJo asks the crowd to stand in silence to pay their respects to those lost and their families in the shooting tragedy in Parkland, Florida, RAW officially gets underway with “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns. Moments before competing in the Gauntlet Match, Roman Reigns is asked about the Elimination Chamber Match and Roman says that he will be going against the toughest competition that RAW has to offer inside the Elimination Chamber. Reigns then says that he is the only one in the Elimination Chamber Match who can beat Brock Lesnar and he would have beaten Brock a few years ago at WrestleMania has it not been for Seth Rollins cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank contract in the middle of their match that year. Appropriately enough, this would pave the way for Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to start the Gauntlet Match as the two former Shield teammates would go one-on-one in the first match of the Gauntlet Match, which is a series of one-on-one matches that end by pinfall, submission, disqualification, or count-out with the victorious Superstar advancing to immediately face a fresh competitor with this trend continuing until every Superstar has entered and, in this case, the Gauntlet Match would feature all seven Superstars competing in this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber Match. After failing to put Seth Rollins away with the Superman Punch, Roman Reigns would size Rollins up for the Spear before Reigns and Rollins go counter-for-counter with Seth managing to trap Reigns with a roll-up, scoring the three-count to win the first match of the Gauntlet Match, much to the surprise of Roman Reigns. After the match, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns would exchange words and, as John Cena makes his way to the ring, the former teammates fist bump in the ring, letting the other know that there’s no hard feelings. After surprising Roman Reigns with a roll-up to advance in the Gauntlet Match, the second match in the Gauntlet Match would see Seth Rollins go one-on-one with sixteen-time former World Champion John Cena. Throughout the match, Seth Rollins would refuse to stay down despite the abuse of, not only John Cena, but Roman Reigns as well. Cena would look to take advantage of Seth Rollins’ exhaustion by sending Seth out of the ring to try for the count-out victory, but Rollins would refuse to lose, just barely making it back into the ring before the referee’s ten-count. Later on in the grueling match, Seth Rollins would send John Cena into the steel steps on the outside, leaving both men down but both Rollins and Cena are able to beat the ten-count. With Seth Rollins’ time in the Gauntlet Match nearing one full hour, Seth would hit the frog splash on John Cena, but Cena kicks out. Cena is then able to snap off the Attitude Adjustment to Seth Rollins, but Seth is able to kick out! Cena then locks in the STF on the exhausted Rollins but Seth is able to get to the bottom rope to break the hold. However, Cena would again lock in the STF with Seth just barely making it to the bottom rope again before Rollins rolls to the outside. Back in the ring, Cena would look for the Attitude Adjustment off of the second rope but Rollins would counter before Cena dives at Rollins. However, Rollins would catch Cena and, in a role reversal from what Cena normally does, Rollins would roll-through while still holding onto John Cena before using Cena’s own Attitude Adjustment against him but Cena kicks out! Rollins then goes for the Phoenix Splash but Cena moves out of the way before Cena delivers the Attitude Adjustment before rolling through and looking for a second consecutive Attitude Adjustment. However, Seth would counter before delivering the Revolution Knee to Cena and following it up with the Curb Stomp, pinning John Cena to finally put the sixteen-time former World Champion away after an incredible, match-of-the-year performance by an exhausted Seth Rollins! After competing for over an hour straight in the Gauntlet Match, Seth Rollins’ night was far from over as Seth would have to continue on in the Gauntlet Match against the next Superstar, Elias! With Seth Rollins completely gassed, Elias would waste no time rushing down to the ring to try and score a quick pinfall on Rollins, but Seth would kick out. While Seth Rollins would try his best to continue to fight, the hour-long battle would prove too much for even Seth Rollins to overcome as Elias would hit the Drift Away, pinning Seth for the three-count as Elias advances with the crowd giving Rollins a much-deserved standing ovation on his way to the back. The fourth portion of the Gauntlet Match would then see Elias square off with Finn Balor. Throughout the match, Elias would work on the previously injured shoulder of Finn Balor but Finn would persevere, hitting Elias with the Coup de Grace, pinning Elias to advance in the Gauntlet Match. Finn would then face Intercontinental Champion The Miz in the Gauntlet Match but The Miz would send The Miztourage out first to distract Finn Balor so that The Miz could jump Finn from behind. During the match, Finn Balor would dive to the outside to take out The Miztourage before having to contend with Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel before heading to the top rope. This would allow The Miz to pull Finn off of the top rope before planting Balor with the Skull Crushing Finale, pinning Finn to advance to the final part of the Gauntlet Match. The Miz’s demeanor would then change with the arrival of the final Superstar in the Gauntlet Match as “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman marches to the ring to a thunderous reaction from the crowd. Knowing what Braun is capable of, The Miz would try to retreat through the crowd, but Strowman would use his unreal speed to quickly catch up to the Intercontinental Champion before bringing The Miz back to the ring. Braun would dominate The Miz throughout the match before The Miztourage would trip up Braun Strowman and, while The Miz was able to hit the Skull Crushing Finale on the gargantuan, Strowman would kick out with ease before planting the Intercontinental Champion with the running powerslam, pinning The Miz to pick up the win, leaving “The Monster Among Men” standing tall at the end of an incredible Gauntlet Match. In a post-match interview, Braun says that he doesn’t “fear the unknown” because “the unknown fears me” before saying that he is going to be just as dominant inside the Elimination Chamber. Strowman then vows to win the Elimination Chamber Match and go on to WrestleMania where he will beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title, warning Brock that the champion is going to “get these hands”. Braun then excuses himself from the interview to handle some “unfinished business” in the form of further punishing The Miz. The Miztourage would manage to take the bullet for The Miz with Braun swatting Bo Dallas away before planting Curtis Axel with the running powerslam. Strowman then grabs Bo Dallas, planting Bo with the running powerslam as well. Braun then sets his sights on The Miz, chasing The Miz all the way to the back before bringing The Miz back into the ring. “The Monster Among Men” then picks the Intercontinental Champion up on his shoulder, savoring the moment before squashing The Miz with the running powerslam. Braun wasn’t through there, however, as Strowman would pick The Miz up again, delivering a second running powerslam, much to the elation of the crowd as Braun leaves the ring, having no doubt instilled fear in the other six participants in the Elimination Chamber Match this Sunday. The latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame was then officially announced during RAW as one of the most controversial and talked about competitors in wrestling history would take his place in the Hall of Fame as four-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion “Double J” Jeff Jarrett will be immortalized on April 6 in New Orleans as Jarrett will join Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz, and Ivory as an inductee into the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame. Before competing on RAW, Asuka would be interviewed about her match with Nia Jax this Sunday at WWE Elimination Chamber. Asuka says that she controls her own “destiny” before saying that Nia Jax didn’t look so “strong” when she was limping to the back following their previous encounter. Asuka then vows that she will make Nia Jax “tap out” this Sunday but this is when Nia Jax would try to jump Asuka from behind and, while “The Empress of Tomorrow” would try her best to battle back, Nia would prove too dominant for Asuka to handle. Nia would plant Asuka with a Samoan Drop before hitting three back-to-back leg drops with the third leg drop being dropped right on the back of Asuka’s neck! This leaves Asuka in the ring clutching her neck as Nia Jax glares at Asuka from the stage as Nia looks to end the undefeated streak of Asuka at WWE Elimination Chamber this Sunday and earn a Women’s Title match at WrestleMania. In the renewal of a rivalry, the RAW Tag Team Champions were in action on RAW as Cesaro & Sheamus would face Titus Worldwide, with Dana Brooke in their corner, in a non-title match. In the end, it was Apollo surprising Cesaro with a roll-up, scoring the three-count as Titus Worldwide again upsets the RAW Tag Team Champions for the win. Before they go one-on-one at WWE Elimination Chamber this Sunday, Bray Wyatt and “Woken” Matt Hardy would exchange words on RAW as Bray Wyatt says that Matt Hardy’s dream of a “woken world” will become his “nightmare”. Matt responds by saying that Bray will “surrender to reality” before Bray says that Matt will “burn” while Matt vows that Bray will be “deleted” this Sunday. Bray then laughs maniacally at Matt before putting on a serious glare. Before they compete for the RAW Women’s Championship in the first ever Women’s Elimination Chamber Match this Sunday, the team of Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James would face the team of RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Absolution’s Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville, with Paige in their corner, in a 6-Woman Tag match. In the end, it was Sasha Banks locking in the Bank Statement on Alexa Bliss, making the RAW Women’s Champion tap out to pick up the win for her team. After the match, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville ambush Sasha Banks before Bayley gets involved with the two Absolution members working together to take out the two former champions. This leads to a face-off between Mandy & Sonya and Alexa but, surprisingly, Mickie James makes the save for the RAW Women’s Champion before Alexa and Mickie plant Sonya Deville with a double team Mickie-T. Alexa and Mickie then stand tall on the stage as Absolution re-groups in the ring, leaving a lot of questions regarding the partnership of Alexa Bliss and Mickie James heading into the every-woman-for-herself environment of the Elimination Chamber this Sunday.
