WWE RAW Results: January 15, 2018By Cassidy| January 16, 2018 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results One week after his decimation of Kane and Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, RAW kicks off with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. Braun declares that he will be the new Universal Champion come the Royal Rumble. However, Braun is then interrupted by RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, who is accompanied by several members of security, who form a line at the bottom of the ramp. The GM says that Braun “put lives in danger” and that is “unacceptable” before Braun says that it could have been a lot “worse”. Kurt says that he’s in charge of the RAW Superstars as well as the employees who work backstage with Strowman saying that Kurt should do his job, saying that he did his job last week. The GM argues that they settle things in the ring on RAW but Braun doesn’t back down, saying that he does what he wants, when he wants, and how he wants. Braun then says that, if he wants to walk into “Suplex City” and rip the walls down, that’s what he’ll do and, if he wants to kick the door to “hell” down, he will and, if he wants to be the Universal Champion at the Royal Rumble, he will. Kurt says that Braun is lucky that Brock and Kane are still able to compete in the title match at the Royal Rumble before telling Braun that the title match at the Royal Rumble is no longer going to be a Triple Threat Match! The GM then takes it a step further by telling “The Monster Among Men” that he’s not going to compete at all before shocking everyone by informing Braun Strowman that he’s fired! Strowman stares daggers through Kurt Angle before Kurt leaves the ring. Braun then leaves the ring, angrily marching to the back with security not far behind. Backstage, security tries to get Braun Strowman to leave the arena, but when one security guard decides to put his hand on Braun, “The Monster Among Men” decides to take his aggression out on the team of security guards. Braun would toss security left and right, leaving security strewn around the backstage area amongst broken tables and other debris. Strowman then shouts that he’s not leaving the arena until “everybody gets these hands”! After Titus Worldwide picked up an upset victory over Cesaro & Sheamus last week, the rematch would take place on RAW as Cesaro & Sheamus would face Titus Worldwide, with Dana Brooke in their corner, in the opening match of the night. During the match, it looked like Cesaro & Sheamus were about to hit the double team White Noise on Apollo Crews when Jason Jordan’s music would hit, followed by one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions coming out to the stage. Jason’s presence would distract Sheamus long enough for Apollo Crews to capitalize as Apollo rolls Sheamus up to pick up another upset win over the former champions! After the match, the other half of the RAW Tag Team Champions, Seth Rollins, would come out to confront Jason Jordan, arguing with Jordan as Cesaro & Sheamus stare down the champions. Backstage, the fired Braun Strowman would continue his rampage as Braun would literally kick down the door to Kurt Angle’s office and, with Kurt nowhere in sight, Braun would lay waste to the GM’s office, tossing furniture and breaking the TV in Kurt’s office. Strowman then storms out of the office, leaving the room in shambles. Braun Strowman then makes his way to catering, flipping tables and sending Superstars scattering before picking up Curt Hawkins and slamming Curt through a table! A baker is then frozen in fear in front of Braun Strowman and Braun takes a chunk of the baker’s cake before walking off to cause more destruction. Before he challenges Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Title in a rematch at the Royal Rumble, Cedric Alexander, with Goldust in his corner, would go one-on-one with Tony Nese, with Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore in his corner. In the end, it was Cedric Alexander hitting Tony Nese with the Lumbar Check, pinning Nese for the win. Backstage, Braun Strowman barges into one of the television production trucks, tossing papers around and scaring the production team out of the truck as he threatens to shut the entire show down. Braun then exits the production truck before the crew cautiously returns to their posts. However, the production truck is shaken, knocking the crew down and the cause of this is Braun Strowman, who commandeered a semi-truck, unhooking the truck from the production trailer! Braun then exits the big rig before trying to flip the eighteen-wheeler. However, Kurt and more security arrive on the scene as the GM tells Strowman that he’s called the cops. Braun appears to leave but then comes back to finish what he started as “The Monster Among Men” flips the semi-truck on its side! Braun then marches out onto the stage with two members of security trying to plead with Braun to no avail. “The Monster Among Men” then sets his sights on the announce position. In Booker T’s desperation to get away from the oncoming Braun Strowman, Booker would shove Michael Cole into the path of Strowman. Braun would pick Michael Cole up by his belt before picking Cole up, ready to launch the commentator. This brings Kurt Angle and more security guards out to the staging area as Braun puts Michael Cole down. The GM tells Braun that he’s called off the cops, informing Braun that Stephanie McMahon just called and rehired Braun! Not only that, but Kurt informs Braun that he is still in the title match at the Royal Rumble! The GM then implores Strowman to leave Michael Cole alone and, while it initially looks like Braun would comply, “The Monster Among Men” has second thoughts, picking the commentator up and hurling Cole off of the stage to take out the legion of security! In Asuka’s toughest test since arriving on RAW, “The Empress of Tomorrow” would go one-on-one with “The Irresistible Force” Nia Jax. During the hard-fought match, the action would spill to the outside where Asuka would kick Nia Jax’s legs out from under her as Nia’s left leg falls in between the ring post and the steel steps. Nia then re-enters the ring, but Nia was unable to stand, leaving the referee no choice but to end the match and award the victory to Asuka. After the match, referees and medical personnel would rush out to tend to Nia Jax and even RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss comes out to check on her best friend. The Revival would return to action after a month-long absence on RAW as Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson would face two local competitors in tag team action. In the end, it was The Revival hitting one of their opponents with the Shatter Machine as Dash Wilder pins the local competitor to pick up the win for The Revival. As he prepares to defend the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz on the 25th anniversary of RAW next week, Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns would face both members of The Miztourage, with The Miz in their corner, in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match on RAW. Despite repeated interference from The Miz, Roman Reigns would blast Curtis Axel with the Spear, pinning Axel to pick up the win. Before they are both a part of the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, “The Boss” Sasha Banks, with Bayley & Mickie James in her corner, would go one-on-one with Absolution’s Sonya Deville, with Paige & Mandy Rose in her corner. In the end, Sonya Deville would catch Sasha Banks coming off of the top rope with a kick to the mid-section, pinning “The Boss” to pick up the win. As he looks to make a statement heading into the Men’s Royal Rumble Match in just under two weeks, “Woken” Matt Hardy was in action on RAW as Matt would go one-on-one with Heath Slater, with Rhyno in his corner. In the end, it was Matt Hardy hitting the Twist of Fate on Heath Slater, pinning Heath for the win. After the news was originally revealed by ESPN earlier in the day, the most dominant Superstar in WCW history will take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame as former Universal, World Heavyweight, and WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6 in New Orleans! Then it was time for the main event as, after Balor Club defeated Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan last week, RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins, with Jason Jordan in his corner, would go one-on-one with the leader of Balor Club, Finn Balor, with Gallows & Anderson in his corner. During the match, Cesaro & Sheamus would come down to ringside with their sights set on Jason Jordan. However, Jason would duck out and a brawl would break out between Cesaro & Sheamus and Gallows & Anderson before Finn Balor dives to the outside, taking out all four men. Shortly after this, Cesaro would get on the ring apron but would get knocked down by Finn. Cesaro would then scramble to try and get back into the ring with the referee trying to keep Cesaro out. This would give Jason Jordan the opening to trip Finn Balor behind the back of the referee, setting Finn up perfectly for the Curb Stomp from Seth Rollins as Seth would bring back his old standby to put Finn away, picking up the win over the leader of The Balor Club. After the match, Gallows & Anderson would help Finn Balor to his feet as Balor Club collects themselves following a controversial loss. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
