WWE SmackDown LIVE Results: November 21, 2017By Cassidy| November 22, 2017 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results Following a disappointing loss for SmackDown LIVE against RAW at Survivor Series, SmackDown LIVE kicks off with SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon. Shane admits that the blue brand came up a little short against RAW at Survivor Series before saying that, no matter how his sister Stephanie tries to spin it, SmackDown LIVE proved that they are “the show” in WWE. The Commissioner then says that he is “proud of the entire SmackDown LIVE roster”, saying that the SmackDown LIVE Superstars put their bodies on the line each and every night and they do it with “pride”. Shane then says that there are two exceptions to this statement before Shane calls Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn out to the ring. Owens & Zayn then come out to the ring as Owens says that it must be hard for Shane to come out there every week with another “excuse” to explain why he “failed”. Sami then asks if it’s harder for Shane to come up with excuses for his failures or if it’s more difficult to “man up” and admit to being “wrong”. Owens then says that Shane made a “fatal mistake” by relegating them to the Survivor Series Kickoff, saying that, unlike The New Day, they could have beaten The Shield. Owens continues, claiming that they alone could have defeated all five members of Team RAW and either of them could have and would have beaten Brock Lesnar. Owens then demands an apology from Shane but the Commissioner tells Owens to shut his mouth before saying that Owens & Zayn don’t have any respect for the SmackDown LIVE roster, Shane McMahon, or the fans. Owens then says that Shane cannot fire them because they are “too valuable” to SmackDown LIVE and everyone in the back looks up to them. Sami then adds that Shane would be a “fool” to do anything to “two future WWE Hall of Famers” before Owens says that there is not one person in the building who doesn’t think that Owens & Zayn are the “top two stars in WWE”. The Commissioner calls Owens & Zayn “delusional”, saying that they are hated by the entire SmackDown LIVE roster before saying that Owens & Zayn are the “most self-absorbed, crazy, megalomaniacs” to ever step foot in a WWE ring. Shane then says that he has got two words for Owens & Zayn and he is going to take “great pride” in saying them but before the Commissioner can fire Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, he is interrupted by SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan. The GM says that Shane is completely justified in firing Owens & Zayn but, before he does, Shane should put his personal animosity side. Owens & Zayn then praise Daniel as their savior before Daniel tells them to “shut up” before saying that he has a better “temporary solution”. Daniel continues, saying that everyone in the back hates Owens & Zayn, saying that he even had to send Randy Orton home because “The Viper” didn’t want to be held responsible for what would happen if he ran into Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. The GM then says that Owens & Zayn will get a chance to prove that they can beat anyone on the roster when they face The New Day here tonight. Sami takes issue with this decision, pointing out that there are three members of The New Day and only two of them. Daniel responds by telling Sami to “shut up” again before adding that the entire SmackDown LIVE roster will be surrounding the ring for their match because it will be Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn facing The New Day in a Lumberjack Match. Following The Usos’ victory over RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus at Survivor Series, SmackDown Tag Team Champion Jey Uso, with Jimmy Uso in his corner, would go one-on-one with Shelton Benjamin, with Chad Gable in his corner, in the opening match of the night. During the match, Jimmy Uso would pull Chad Gable off of the ring apron before Gable retaliates by sending Jimmy into the barricade. Shortly after this, Jey Uso would head to the top rope for the Uso Splash, but Chad Gable would again get involved and, while Jey would knock Gable off of the ring apron, the momentary distraction would give Shelton Benjamin time to move out of the way of the Uso Splash before Benjamin hits Jey with Pay Dirt, pinning one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions for the win. Backstage, Naomi is in the makeup chair discussing the upcoming SmackDown Women’s Title match with the makeup lady when Naomi is confronted by Ruby Riot from NXT! However, Ruby Riot did not come to SmackDown LIVE alone, introducing Naomi to fellow NXT competitors Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan! Realizing that this was not just a friendly introduction, Naomi stands up before the NXT trio attacks as Ruby, Liv, & Sarah beat Naomi down, putting the boots to the former champion. Becky Lynch then jumps in to try and come to Naomi’s aid but the numbers game is too much for “The Irish Lass Kicker” as, while Becky gets a few shots in on Ruby Riot, Sarah Logan would come from behind, sending Becky into a nearby anvil case. The NXT invaders then toss Becky to the floor before tipping a table over on Becky, dragging Becky into a nearby doorway where Ruby holds Becky down while Sarah Logan repeatedly slams the door on the ribs of Becky Lynch! Referees then arrive on the scene to break up the vicious assault as the ruthless NXT trio finally back off, having made quite the impact in their SmackDown LIVE debut. Backstage, SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon tells SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan that he is impressed with some of the moves that the GM has been making lately. Shane then says that it was a great idea to put Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a Lumberjack Match against The New Day, saying that the entire SmackDown LIVE roster will be able to get their hands on Owens & Zayn before Daniel fires them. The Commissioner then says that he is going to kick back at his hotel room and watch the rest of the show, telling Daniel to have a good night before exiting, leaving Daniel in charge. After weeks of strange vignettes, it was time for the arrival of The Bludgeon Brothers, Harper & Rowan, as the two hammer-wielding maniacs would face The Hype Bros in tag team action on SmackDown LIVE. The Bludgeon Brothers would dominate The Hype Bros as, early on in the match, Harper would annihilate Zack Ryder on the outside, dropping Ryder with a big boot before sending Ryder into the steel steps. This would allow the two monsters to overwhelm Mojo Rawley as Harper & Rowan plant Mojo with a double crucifix slam with Rowan pinning Mojo to pick up the impressive win for The Bludgeon Brothers. After coming up short against Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, WWE Champion AJ Styles would address the Survivor Series loss as well as former champion Jinder Mahal. AJ says that he hit Brock Lesnar with everything he had, saying that even Paul Heyman respected his performance. The WWE Champion then says that he wasn’t the one “limping” after the match, telling Brock Lesnar that, if he ever wants a rematch, Brock should remember that Rocky wins in the second Rocky movie. AJ then turns his attention to Jinder Mahal, saying that Jinder said last week that he was going to take the WWE Title back tonight. Styles then calls Jinder out to have their match right now, but Jinder instead appears on the Tron, saying that he’s too “busy” to face AJ. Jinder then claims that he would have beaten Brock Lesnar and he would be the “beast master” right now, saying that he will get his rematch when he wants it. Jinder continues, saying that they will “clash” in a place much more worthy than Texas, revealing that he will get his rematch at Clash of Champions on December 17. This is when The Singh Brothers would attack AJ Styles from behind but the WWE Champion would thwart the attack, taking out Sunil Singh on the outside before hitting Samir Singh with the Styles Clash in the ring. AJ then stands tall, holding up the WWE Title as Jinder glares at his Clash of Champions opponent. In a rematch from last week’s SmackDown LIVE, Charlotte Flair would defend her newly won SmackDown Women’s Title against former champion Natalya. During the match, Charlotte Flair would connect with a Spear to Natalya, but the challenger would roll to the outside. This would provide the perfect opportunity for the dangerous new contingent of Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, & Sarah Logan to strike again as the trio would ambush Natalya on the outside, ending the match by disqualification. Ruby would put the finishing touches on Natalya with a kick to the face. Ruby, Liv, & Sarah then turn their attention to Charlotte Flair as, despite the SmackDown Women’s Champion trying to defend herself, Charlotte would be overwhelmed by the trio from NXT as Sarah Logan would deliver a vicious kick to the mid-section before Liv Morgan hits a double knee facebuster to the champion before Ruby Riot finishes the beatdown with a Pele Kick to the face! Ruby, Liv, & Sarah then stand tall over Charlotte Flair, having laid waste to the SmackDown LIVE women’s division. Then it was time for the main event as, with Shinsuke Nakamura, The Usos, Bobby Roode, The Ascension, Tye Dillinger, Rusev & Aiden English, The Colons, Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin, Sin Cara, Mike Kanellis, Breezango, and United States Champion Baron Corbin surrounding the ring, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn would have to face The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner. Throughout the match, the lumberjacks would target Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn whenever either of them are thrown to the outside but, at one point in the match, Baron Corbin would accidentally strike Bobby Roode and “The Glorious One” retaliates, ultimately sparking a massive brawl among the members of the SmackDown LIVE roster. The brawl would eventually spill to the backstage area but, amidst the chaos, Sami Zayn is able to surprise Kofi Kingston with a roll-up, picking up the win for himself and Kevin Owens. After the match, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn would roll out of the ring but would find themselves face-to-face with Big E. However, Rusev would come to the aid of Owens & Zayn by taking out Big E and this would allow Kevin Owens to hop the barricade and escape through the crowd. Kofi Kingston would then dive to the outside to take out Rusev & Aiden English and, while Sami Zayn would also try to escape through the crowd, Sami is stopped by Xavier Woods, who brings Sami back into the ring. Zayn then finds himself surrounded by all three members of The New Day as Sami tries to beg off The New Day but to no avail as Kofi hits Sami with Trouble in Paradise before Big E & Xavier Woods hit Sami with the Midnight Hour. As The New Day celebrate in the ring, Kevin Owens runs into Daniel Bryan as Owens literally gets on his knees, begging for the GM to change his mind about firing him and Sami Zayn. However, Daniel says that he was never going to fire them before saying that he does recognize Kevin Owens’ talent and that is why he wants Owens on SmackDown LIVE next week in a one-on-one match against Randy Orton! Owens first takes issue with this decision but, upon realizing that Daniel could just as easily have fired him as well as Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens agrees to the match, thanking Daniel before leaving.
