WWE SmackDown LIVE Results: October 31, 2017By Cassidy| November 6, 2017 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results With the battle against RAW at Survivor Series coming up in just a few weeks, the Halloween edition of SmackDown LIVE kicks off with SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon. Shane says that, throughout SmackDown’s history, RAW has always looked at SmackDown as the “inferior brand” and that is still true today. The Commissioner then says that he and Daniel Bryan created the “land of opportunity” before saying that the best way to make a statement was to go to RAW, take it “under siege”, and kick them right in the mouth. Shane then thanks the fans and the SmackDown LIVE roster, saying that the blue brand has “heart”. Shane then brings up what happened to Daniel Bryan on RAW, saying that the SmackDown LIVE General Manager was locked in Kurt Angle’s office and was “set up” and “beat up” by Kane. Shane continues, asking where RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon were at when Daniel got attacked, saying that they didn’t even care about what happened to Daniel Bryan. The Commissioner then says that there will be “hell to pay” for what happened to Daniel Bryan before telling Kurt Angle that Kurt can bring his gold medals to Survivor Series and he can bring Braun Strowman and the rest of Team RAW to Survivor Series. Shane then says that Team RAW will have to contend with Team SmackDown LIVE, which will consist of Randy Orton, three to-be-determined SmackDown LIVE Superstars, and the Commissioner himself as Shane announces that he will be the captain of Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series, saying that they will see Team RAW in the ring before Shane declares that it’s time to get into some “action”! With three spots left to fill on Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series, the opening match of the night would be a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match between rivals “Glorious” Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler with the first Superstar to score two falls by either pinfall, submission, count-out, or disqualification will win the match and earn a spot on Team SmackDown LIVE. It would be Dolph Ziggler scoring the first fall of the match after catching Bobby Roode with a super kick but “The Glorious One” was able to bounce back, sending Dolph face-first into the ring post before rolling Ziggler up to score the second fall , evening the score. Later on in the match, Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler would go counter-for-counter before Bobby Roode is able to plant Dolph Ziggler with the Glorious DDT, pinning Ziggler to win the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match to qualify for Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series as “The Glorious One” will join Shane McMahon and Randy Orton on Team SmackDown LIVE. As he prepares to go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion The Miz at Survivor Series, United States Champion Baron Corbin would go one-on-one with the man who had beaten him twice, once by count-out and once by disqualification, in the last couple of weeks, Sin Cara, in a non-title match. During the match, Baron Corbin would repeatedly try to tear Sin Cara’s mask off and this would enrage Sin Cara as the masked man tackles the United States Champion over the announce table, putting the boots to Corbin and even tossing a chair at Corbin! The referee would call the match off before Baron Corbin retreats into the crowd, having raised the ire of Sin Cara. As WWE Champion Jinder Mahal prepares to collide with Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, Jinder, along with Sunil Singh, would be in Samir Singh’s corner as Samir would go one-on-one with the man who is on the heels of the WWE Champion, AJ Styles. Much like he did to Sunil last week, AJ Styles would make relatively quick work of Samir Singh, hitting Samir with the Styles Clash and pinning Samir for the win. However, as soon as the match was over, Jinder Mahal would blindside AJ Styles as the WWE Champion beats down “The Phenomenal One” with the help of the Sunil Singh. Jinder then sends AJ into the ring post before stretching AJ’s back around the ring post, trying to break Styles in half. Jinder then shoves Sunil to the side before the WWE Champion grabs AJ and plants Styles with the Khallas. Jinder then starts to leave the ring before spotting AJ trying to get up, opting to go back into the ring and hit AJ with a second Khallas. “The Modern Day Maharaja” then stands over AJ Styles, holding up the WWE Title over his head before leaving the ring. Following a backstage confrontation earlier in the night where Rusev crushed The New Day’s Halloween candy, The New Day’s Big E, with Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods in his corner, would go one-on-one with Rusev, with Aiden English in his corner. During the match, Aiden English would attack Xavier Woods on the outside before Aiden flees into the ring, getting caught with the Big Ending by Big E. The distraction would give Rusev the opening he needed to blast Big E in the back of the head with the Machka Kick, pinning Big E to pick up the win. Then it was time for the main event as, with Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, and Bobby Roode all a part of Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series, another spot on the team would be filled as “The Artist” Shinsuke Nakamura would go one-on-one with Kevin Owens with the winner joining Team SmackDown LIVE. During the match, Sami Zayn would come down to ringside to help Kevin Owens, pulling Owens out of harm’s way. Owens then sends Shinsuke Nakamura into the steel steps before bringing Nakamura back into the ring. Owens then hits the frog splash but Nakamura kicks out before Owens instructs Sami to expose the announce table. Sami complies but this is when Randy Orton would emerge through the crowd, slamming Sami back-first onto the announce table! The distraction would pay off for Shinsuke Nakamura as Nakamura would connect with the Kinshasa, pinning Kevin Owens to pick up the win and earn a spot on Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series!
