WWE SmackDown LIVE Results: October 24, 2017By Cassidy| October 26, 2017 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results After leading a SmackDown LIVE invasion of RAW one night earlier, essentially firing the first shot in the war against RAW at Survivor Series next month, SmackDown LIVE kicks off with the return of SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon, making his first SmackDown LIVE appearance since the Falls Count Anywhere Hell in a Cell Match against Kevin Owens at WWE Hell in a Cell. Shane says that he’s been undergoing some “serious physical rehab” the last couple of weeks but he’s glad to be back and be back in charge. Turning his attention to Survivor Series, Shane says that he learned at a very young age that, when you start a fight, you always want to be the one to “strike first” and that’s exactly what he and the SmackDown LIVE Superstars did on RAW. The Commissioner then says that, when RAW General Manager Kurt Angle “desperately” called them because Kurt needed an “attraction” to go against “The Demon” Finn Balor at WWE TLC this past Sunday, it all hit him. Shane then explains that, not only were they going to loan AJ Styles to RAW for WWE TLC, they were going to let him stay an extra night and compete on RAW as well. Shane continues, saying that Kurt should have been a little more “wary” of him showing up in Kurt’s office. Shane then says that Kurt had the “audacity” to say that the SmackDown LIVE talent was not as good as the RAW talent. The SmackDown LIVE Commissioner then says that they caught RAW completely by surprise but RAW won’t do the same to them because SmackDown LIVE is “ready”. Shane McMahon is then interrupted by Sami Zayn, the man who pulled Kevin Owens to safety at WWE Hell in a Cell, resulting in Shane crashing through the announce table after diving off of the Hell in a Cell structure. Sami is quick to try and bury the hatchet with the SmackDown LIVE Commissioner, telling Shane “no hard feelings” in regards to WWE Hell in a Cell. Shane says that, not only could Shane have been seriously injured, but Sami added insult to injury by pulling Kevin Owens over to Shane, helping Owens score the one-two-three, saying there are a lot of “hard feelings”. Getting in the face of Shane, Sami says that, if Shane was standing in front of him as a competitor and not as the SmackDown LIVE Commissioner, he would take Shane out in “one second”, saying that he would leave Shane “hurting” worse than he was left hurting at WWE Hell in a Cell. Sami then decides to save the fight for “another day” before saying that he is out there to tell Shane that he and his “good buddy” Kevin Owens have mulled it over and they’ve decided to be on Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series. Sami continues, saying that he and Owens will put the burden on their shoulders and carry the load as “brave and fearless leaders”. Sami then says that Shane “needs” him and Owens to represent SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series, saying that Shane McMahon is a lot of things but he is not a “stupid man”. Sami then says that he and Kevin Owens have “selflessly volunteered” their services for Survivor Series. Having patiently listened to Sami Zayn, the SmackDown LIVE Commissioner tells Sami that he doesn’t “want” or “need” Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to represent SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series. Shane then says that, if Sami Zayn wants a spot on Team SmackDown LIVE, he is going to have to earn it, saying that all Sami has to do is beat his opponent tonight. Shane then starts to leave the ring but Sami Zayn insists on knowing who his opponent will be and the Commissioner reveals that Sami Zayn will go one-on-one with “The Viper” Randy Orton tonight with the winner earning a spot on Team SmackDown LIVE in the Men’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match against Team RAW at Survivor Series! Shane then leaves the ring as Sami looks less than pleased about having to go through Randy Orton to make it on Team SmackDown LIVE. With SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos guests on commentary, the #1 Contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles were in action on SmackDown LIVE as Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin would face The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, with Big E in their corner. During the match, Shelton Benjamin would catch Xavier Woods with a kick to the back behind the back of the referee, allowing Chad Gable to pin Xavier for the win. After Sin Cara picked up a count-out win over Baron Corbin last week, the rematch would take place on this week’s SmackDown LIVE as Sin Cara would go one-on-one with United States Champion Baron Corbin in a non-title match. During the match, Baron Corbin would get so frustrated by his quicker opponent that the United States Champion would completely disregard the referee’s five-count, repeatedly pummeling Sin Cara until the referee has no choice but to call for the bell, giving Sin Cara another win over Baron Corbin, this time by disqualification. Enraged by the decision, Baron Corbin would pull Sin Cara out of the ring before hitting the masked Superstar with the End of Days on the floor! Corbin then heads to the back with his United States Title, leaving Sin Cara motionless on the floor. Before Sunil Singh faces AJ Styles on SmackDown LIVE, The Singh Brothers were by the side of WWE Champion Jinder Mahal as “The Modern Day Maharaja” would respond to the comments made by Paul Heyman on RAW. Jinder says that he has “earned” everything that he has accomplished in WWE, saying that he’s now the “most powerful man in the entire WWE”. Jinder then says that he is not Brock Lesnar’s “equal”, saying that he is Brock’s “worst nightmare” before declaring that, at Survivor Series, he will prove that the “Maharaja Era” has only just begun. The WWE Champion then mentions that his “loyal brother” Sunil Singh will face AJ Styles tonight before Jinder is interrupted by “The Phenomenal One” who had apparently heard enough from “The Modern Day Maharaja”. Before the match begins, the referee would make sure to eject WWE Champion Jinder Mahal from ringside, leaving The Singh Brothers alone to deal with AJ Styles. During the match, Samir Singh would get on the ring apron but AJ Styles would thwart the attempted interference by shoving Sunil into Samir, knocking Samir to the floor. AJ then locks in the Calf Crusher on Sunil Singh and it doesn’t take long for Sunil to tap out as “The Phenomenal One” picks up the win. The five women who will comprise Team SmackDown LIVE in the Women’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match against Team RAW at Survivor Series would compete against each other on SmackDown LIVE as Becky Lynch, Carmella, Naomi, Tamina, and Charlotte Flair would compete in a Fatal 5-Way Match with the winner being named the captain of Team SmackDown LIVE. In the end, it was would come down to Becky Lynch and Carmella with Becky locking in the Dis-Arm-Her, making “Ms. Money-in-the-Bank” tap out to become the captain of Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series. Then it was time for the main event as “The Viper” Randy Orton would go one-on-one with Sami Zayn with the winner becoming the first Superstar to join Team SmackDown LIVE in the Men’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match against Team RAW at Survivor Series. During the match, Randy Orton was poised to strike with the RKO but this is when Kevin Owens would come to the aid of Sami Zayn. Orton would spot Kevin Owens coming down to the ring and “The Viper” would try to hit Owens with his signature DDT but Sami was quick to surprise Orton with a roll-up. However, Orton was able to kick out at the last second and Owens would get back on the ring apron to argue with the referee and this would give Orton his opportunity at payback for last week as “The Viper” would deliver a low blow to Sami Zayn behind the referee’s back. Orton then looks right at Owens before Orton strikes with the RKO, pinning Sami for the win to earn the first spot on Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series. Backstage, SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon is talking with SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan as Shane appears proud of how SmackDown LIVE went off without any retaliation from RAW, commenting that Daniel was “worried about nothing”. The GM says that, after RAW, he thought for sure that Kurt Angle was going to bring the RAW roster and ransack SmackDown LIVE. Daniel then says that, while RAW didn’t retaliate tonight, they will retaliate at some point and Shane has to be prepared for that, telling the Commissioner that it’s in his “job description” before Daniel walks off.
