WWE RAW Results: October 9, 2017By Cassidy| October 14, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with Intercontinental Champion The Miz and one-half of The Miztourage, Curtis Axel, as The Miz welcomes everyone to Miz TV, announcing that this will be “The Mizzies Part 2”. The Miz then presents his first Mizzy to someone who has demonstrated “absolute perseverance”, giving the award to Curtis Axel. Axel accepts the award, dedicating the award to Bo Dallas. The Intercontinental Champion then presents the award for “best supporting actors” for their assistance in beating down Roman Reigns last week, bringing out Cesaro & Sheamus. After accepting the award, Sheamus declares that they can go “anywhere” before saying that he would like to thank the man who made it all possible, Roman Reigns. Cesaro follows this up by thanking Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins, saying that Ambrose & Rollins gave them a reason to want to beat Ambrose & Rollins down, saying that they don’t just raise the bar, they “are the bar”. The Miz then says that there is a “greater revolutionary force” in WWE than The Shield and that is himself and Cesaro & Sheamus, saying that, sometimes, the “good guys” do win. The Miz then presents himself with the final Mizzy award, calling himself the real “big dog” in WWE, dedicating the award to his unborn child. Roman Reigns then interrupts, coming out to the stage and saying that he’s going to give them one chance to leave his ring with The Miz responding by saying that Roman is going to do nothing because there is four of them and only one of Roman Reigns. The Miz then says that the rumors of The Shield reuniting are like Roman Reigns because they are “all hype”. Roman responds to this by saying “what rumors”, which brings out Dean Ambrose, followed shortly by the final piece of the puzzle, Seth Rollins, as The Shield stand reunited on the stage! The Shield then surrounds the ring and, as The Miz makes a quick escape, the trio take it to Curtis Axel and Cesaro & Sheamus before Roman Reigns catches Sheamus with a Superman Punch, followed up by a Superman Punch to Cesaro. Dean Ambrose then catches Cesaro with a clothesline while Seth Rollins takes Sheamus down with the King’s Landing. As The Miz looks on in disbelief, The Shield sets their sights on the Intercontinental Champion, chasing The Miz into the ring before Ambrose spikes The Miz with Dirty Deeds. Ambrose & Rollins then load up The Miz into the powerbomb position as The Shield plants The Miz with their signature three-man powerbomb! Reigns, Ambrose, & Rollins then share the signature Shield fist bump in the center of the ring, solidifying their reunion. After he and Matt Hardy lost to Gallows & Anderson last week, Kurt Angle’s son Jason Jordan would go one-on-one with Karl Anderson, with Luke Gallows in his corner. During the match, Luke Gallows would get on the ring apron to try and help his tag team partner but the attempt would ultimately fail as Jason Jordan would kick out of a roll-up attempt before hitting Karl Anderson with his lifting neckbreaker, pinning Anderson to pick up the win. Backstage, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle confronts The Miz in the trainer’s room to inform the Intercontinental Champion that, at WWE TLC in just under two weeks, The Miz and Cesaro & Sheamus will face The Shield in a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match, concluding by telling The Miz “it’s true, it’s damn true”! In the continuing rivalry between Elias and Apollo Crews & Titus O’Neil, RAW would see Elias go one-on-one with Apollo Crews, with Titus O’Neil in his corner. In the end, it was Elias hitting Apollo Crews with Drift Away, pinning Apollo to pick up the win. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore would then make an appearance on RAW, taking issue with Kurt Angle giving Kalisto a WWE Cruiserweight Title at WWE TLC. The champion says that Kurt isn’t doing anything “important” before calling out the RAW General Manager. Kurt then comes to the ring before Enzo shows the GM a crumpled piece of paper, which is the clause that states that, if anyone in the Cruiserweight Division puts their hands on him, they would be fired on the spot. Kurt verifies that the document is what Enzo says it is before Enzo asks why Kalisto was allowed to put his hands on him last week and why the newest addition to the Cruiserweight Division is getting a title match at WWE TLC. Kurt explains that the fine print of the clause states that it only applies to Cruiserweights that were under contract to the division before he signed the clause and he signed Kalisto to the Cruiserweight Division after he signed the clause. The champion says that the GM “hustled” him before telling Kurt to show him some “respect”, saying that he is Kurt’s “biggest Superstar” and the GM needs to start worrying about what makes Enzo happy. The GM tells Enzo that he can forget about defending the WWE Cruiserweight Title at WWE TLC because Enzo is going to defend the title against Kalisto right here tonight! Enzo says that he will only defend the championship if it’s in the main event of RAW and Kurt agrees, shaking on the deal. The GM then leaves the ring, but when Kurt reaches the stage, the GM informs Enzo of a special stipulation for the title match tonight, saying that he’s going to put the no contact clause on hold for tonight because every Cruiserweight will surround the ring as the WWE Cruiserweight Title match will be a Lumberjack Match! With his brother, Jeff, on the shelf, Matt Hardy would go it alone on RAW as Matt would have the unenviable task of going one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. Matt Hardy would give it his all against the behemoth, even hitting the Twist of Fate, but Braun Strowman would kick out after one! Braun Strowman then plants Matt Hardy with back-to-back chokeslams, following it up with the running powerslam, pinning Matt to pick up an impressive win. After the match, Braun Strowman would toss Matt out of the ring before picking Matt up and walking up to the stage. However, this is when “The Monster Among Men” would find himself face-to-face with the reunited Shield. Braun would target Roman Reigns, but Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins would jump in before Reigns blasts Strowman with the Spear! The Shield then puts the boots to “The Monster Among Men” before the trio set their sights on the RAW announce table, exposing the table before hoisting Braun Strowman up and delivering the three-man powerbomb through the table! The Shield then stand united on the stage, having used the numbers game to take down the behemoth Braun Strowman. Less than two weeks before she challenges Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Title at WWE TLC, Mickie James would make an appearance on RAW. Mickie says that Alexa has taken every opportunity to insult her behind her back, saying that Alexa attacked her from behind last week. Mickie then tells Alexa to put on her “big girl pants”, saying that she doesn’t “play games” before saying that age is just a number, vowing to become a seven-time champion at WWE TLC. This brings RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss out to the stage as Alexa says she’s “sorry” before saying that she’s put together a career retrospective for Mickie James. Naturally, the brief video turns out to be a continuing line of insults from the RAW Women’s Champion, referring to Mickie as a “senior citizen” who is not yet “late” and not yet “great”. Alexa then says that she will be sending Mickie James a “VHS” of the video before Mickie dares Alexa to come down to the ring. Alexa then acts like she is going to come to the ring before turning around and trying to leave. However, Mickie would leave the ring, bringing Alexa into the ring and nearly catching Alexa with the Mick Kick, but the champion barely manages to escape the ring, leaving the challenger standing tall in the ring. The Cruiserweights were in tag team action on RAW as Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali would face Gentleman Jack Gallagher & The Brian Kendrick. In the end, it was The Brian Kendrick hitting Mustafa Ali with Sliced Bread #2, pinning Ali to pick up the win for himself and Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Backstage, The Miz confronts Kurt Angle to bring up something that Dean Ambrose said in a backstage interview from earlier in the night when Ambrose said that The Shield would take on and defeat four, five, or even six opponents. The Miz then convinces Kurt Angle to let Miz choose a partner to join himself and Cesaro & Sheamus in the Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match at WWE TLC and the Intercontinental Champion selects none other than “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman as the fourth man on his team! After Bray Wyatt eluded to the fabled Sister Abigail being alive last week, Finn Balor would make an appearance on RAW. Finn says Bray Wyatt is like a “virus” that keeps mutating with “more lies and more mind games”, saying that he doesn’t believe it. Finn then says that Bray is “desperate” before saying that he’s “not afraid” of Bray, telling Bray to “bring on” Sister Abigail and bring on the entire family. Finn is then interrupted by Bray Wyatt, who appears on the Tron in his signature rocking chair. Bray says that he was there when Sister Abigail took her “final breath” and, together, they promised they were going to make them all “burn”. Bray then says that the “season of the witch” is upon Finn Balor. Bray then morphs into a masked individual of similar appearance to Bray himself, wearing a sheer cloth and speaking in a demonic voice. The apparent Sister Abigail says that men just want to “control everything” but Bray is “different”, saying that she taught Bray from a young age that “darkness” is so much stronger than the “light”. Sister Abigail then says that she promised to always be by Bray’s side so here she is, saying that she is “scarred” and “burnt to a crisp”. Abigail continues, saying that Bray wouldn’t even “harm a fly” before saying that Finn “lied” to Bray, saying that she can turn a “demon” into a “dandelion”. Abigail then says that she is “worse” than anything that Finn Balor read about in his Irish mythology books, saying that her “kiss” can burn it “to the ground” before telling Finn to “run”, laughing maniacally before morphing back into Bray, who laughs maniacally as well. With all five women wanting to go one-on-one with the debuting Asuka at WWE TLC, RAW would see Sasha Banks, Bayley, Emma, Alicia Fox, and Dana Brooke compete in a Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match with the winner facing “The Empress of Tomorrow” at WWE TLC. Bayley would score the first elimination of the match, hitting Dana Brooke with the Bayley-to-Belly, pinning Dana to eliminate Dana from the match. The second elimination would be an upset as Alicia Fox hits her axe kick on Bayley, eliminating the former champion from the match. Later on in the match, Sasha Banks would lock in the Bank Statement on Alicia Fox, making Alicia tap out to eliminate her from the match. This is when Emma would spot her opportunity, surprising “The Boss” with a roll-up to pick up the win, meaning that Emma is heading to WWE TLC to go one-on-one with the debuting Asuka! Then it was time for the main event as Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa, Tony Nese, Rich Swann, Noam Dar, Drew Gulak, Mustafa Ali, TJP, Ariya Daivari, Gentleman Jack Gallagher, and The Brian Kendrick all come out to surround the ring as Enzo Amore would defend the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against the newest addition to the Cruiserweight Division, Kalisto, in a Lumberjack Match where the Cruiserweights surrounding the ring would have the task of ensuring that both competitors remain in the ring for the duration of the match. During the match, tensions would rise among the Cruiserweights on the outside, leading to a brawl amongst the lumberjacks that is broken up when Kalisto delivers a superplex to Enzo Amore to the outside, taking out all of the lumberjacks! Back in the ring, Enzo Amore would hit Kalisto with Eat Defeat, but when Enzo goes for the pin, Mustafa Ali pulls the champion out of the ring, a bit of revenge for Enzo kicking Ali earlier in the match. After exchanging words on the outside, Enzo would take Ali out with a clothesline. However, the distraction would pay off for Kalisto as it would allow Kalisto to connect with Salida del Sol off of the top rope as Kalisto pins Enzo to become the brand new WWE Cruiserweight Champion! After the match, Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander are quick to join Kalisto in celebrating the title win, hoisting Kalisto up on their shoulders as Rich Swann and Akira Tozawa join the festivities, all proudly endorsing the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion.
