WWE SmackDown LIVE Results: September 12, 2017By Cassidy| September 13, 2017 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results After pushing SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon over the edge last week, leading to Shane attacking and ultimately getting suspended indefinitely, the special Sin City SmackDown LIVE kicks off with Kevin Owens. With WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon expected to confront him at any time, Kevin Owens welcomes everyone to “The Kevin Owens Show” before saying that, when he was attacked by Shane McMahon last week, he did not fight back because he chose not to fight back and that’s because he “respects authority”. Owens then says that is why he is suing everyone in WWE and he will continue on until SmackDown LIVE is “no more”, stating that, instead of SmackDown LIVE, they are going to get “Kevin Owens presents The Kevin Owens Show, starring Kevin Owens”. Owens continues, saying that, when SmackDown LIVE becomes The Kevin Owens Show, he is going to make some “changes”, saying that some people are going to get “fired”. Owens then says that the first person that’s going to get fired is his former best friend and longtime rival Sami Zayn before addressing commentators Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton, saying that they are going to have to start wearing the same suit, which gets a smirk from fellow commentator Corey Graves. Owens then explains that, when he says they are going to be wearing the same suit, he doesn’t mean they will wear matching suits, saying it will be “two guys, one suit”, saying they sound the same on TV so they might as well become the same person before saying that he’s also going to cancel The Fashion Files. Kevin Owens then says that, before he keeps telling them how he is going to improve this show, there is someone that he needs to speak to, saying that there is “no reason” to drag this out, telling WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon to come out to the ring! Kevin Owens is then shocked when Shane McMahon’s music plays, but it was all a ruse as the man that comes out is not Shane as SmackDown LIVE’s resident cosplayer Dolph Ziggler comes out dressed and acting like the suspended SmackDown LIVE Commissioner. Owens and Dolph then share a laugh over the ruse before Dolph says that he wanted to try out a new entrance, saying he will put it in the “maybe pile”. Owens comments that nobody else is using that entrance anyways before Dolph heads to the back. Owens then says that, since there’s not a McMahon in the building, he’s going to go ahead and keep talking about the improvements he is going to make to the soon-to-be Kevin Owens Show. However, Kevin Owens is then interrupted by SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan, who makes his way to the ring. Daniel reminds Kevin Owens that he is in charge, not Kevin Owens and the “fun and games” will be over soon. Owens responds by telling the GM that he has big plans for Daniel once he takes over the show, saying that he’s going to make Daniel The Kevin Owens Show’s “resident janitor”. Daniel fires back by saying that he’s not afraid to do some “manual labor”, saying that Kevin Owens should give it a try sometime. The GM then assures Kevin Owens that Mr. McMahon will be there “very soon”, adding that Owens isn’t going to like what the Chairman has to say. No longer in a jovial mood, Kevin Owens tells Daniel Bryan that Mr. McMahon isn’t going to like what he has to say! Kevin Owens then leaves the ring, leaving the world to wonder what will happen when Kevin Owens confronts WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon. In the first of three championship matches on Sin City SmackDown LIVE, the opening match of the night would see a rematch from a couple of weeks ago as AJ Styles would defend the United States Championship against “The Perfect Ten” Tye Dillinger. During the match, Baron Corbin would get on the ring apron but AJ Styles would spot Corbin, knocking Corbin off of the ring apron with the Phenomenal Forearm. Tye Dillinger then tries to take advantage of the distraction with a quick roll-up, but AJ would kick out. Tye then goes for the Tye Breaker but Styles counters, trying for the Styles Clash before Dillinger counters. Tye then manages to hit the Tye Breaker on Styles but the champion somehow manages to kick out of Dillinger’s finisher. Tye then tries to capitalize on a downed Styles, but AJ is able to trap Dillinger in the Calf Crusher, making Dillinger tap out to successfully retain the United States Title. After the match, AJ and Tye would show their respect for each other with a handshake before Baron Corbin pulls AJ Styles out of the ring, tossing AJ over the barricade before leveling Tye Dillinger with a clothesline. Corbin then grabs AJ and plants the champion with the End of Days on the arena floor. Baron then grabs a microphone, telling AJ Styles that, next week, he will be the one accepting the U.S. Open Challenge! After taking last week off to return to Bulgaria, Rusev would be interviewed backstage about his return home. Rusev says that he suffered the “biggest embarrassment” of his career and his life at SummerSlam when Randy Orton beat him in ten seconds. Rusev then says that he needed to return to Bulgaria and be with his family and the people who love him. Rusev continues, saying that his family looked at him with “shame” and he came home as a “loser”. Rusev then defiantly states that he is “not a loser”, saying he still has his “killer instinct” and he knows what he must do, saying that he must “break a legend”. After finding out last week that he will be defending the WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura at next month’s WWE Hell in a Cell, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, along with The Singh Brothers, would make an appearance on Sin City SmackDown LIVE. Jinder Mahal says that Shinsuke Nakamura has “charisma” and “energy” never before seen in WWE, saying his preparation is just as “mental” as it is “physical”. The WWE Champion and The Singh Brothers then poke fun at a picture of Shinsuke Nakamura, saying that Nakamura looks like he has “constipation”, which has The Singh Brothers literally rolling on the floor laughing. Jinder then shows a different picture before accusing Nakamura of being a “rip-off” of Michael Jackson. Jinder continues, saying that Nakamura doesn’t want the WWE Title because, if Nakamura was the champion, the fans would treat Nakamura the same way they treat Jinder. The WWE Champion then says that, if Nakamura was the champion, the fans would chant “USA” when he tries to speak, saying that it’s not “worth it”, telling Nakamura to “walk away”. Jinder then concludes by speaking in Punjabi before showing a picture of himself and The Singh Brothers on the Tron. The SmackDown Tag Team Championship would then be on the line on Sin City SmackDown LIVE as The Usos would defend the titles against The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston in a Sin City Street Fight where there will be no disqualifications and no count-outs with the match only ending by either pinfall or submission in the ring. Early on in the match, Big E & Kofi Kingston would take the early advantage before pulling a table out from under the ring, setting the table up at ringside. The Usos then take advantage in the match before bringing a steel chair into the mix. Isolating Big E, The Usos would use the chair on Big E before grabbing a kendo stick as the champions take turns wearing Big E out with the weapon. Kofi Kingston then re-enters the fray, taking The Usos down before grabbing the kendo stick, unloading on The Usos with kendo stick shots, breaking the kendo stick over Jimmy Uso! Kofi then delivers a steel chair-assisted double stomp to one of The Usos before tossing a chair at one of The Usos’ heads before going for his Trust Fall. However, The Usos catch Kofi before sending Kingston into the barricade, but this is when Big E would take over in the match, dominating both Usos before hitting a splash on both Usos. The Usos then rebound, trying to use the ropes to their advantage in a pinfall attempt, but Big E kicks out. Big E then hits one of The Usos with the Big Ending but the other Uso is able to break up the pinfall attempt. The Usos then take Big E down with a double super kick before the champions climb to the top rope with the intent of hitting Big E with the Double Uce. However, Kofi would make the save, shoving Jey Uso off of the top rope and through the table at ringside! This leaves Jimmy Uso in shock before Jimmy charges at Kofi, only for Kingston to catch Jimmy with a kick to the head. Big E then picks Jimmy up before Kingston soars off of the top rope, hitting the Midnight Hour as Big E pins Jimmy Uso to secure the SmackDown Tag Team Titles for The New Day! After the match, Xavier Woods come out to celebrate with his teammates as The New Day are once again on top of the SmackDown LIVE Tag Team Division as the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions! The SmackDown Women’s Championship would then be defended on Sin City SmackDown LIVE as, in a rematch from SummerSlam, Naomi would challenge new champion Natalya for the SmackDown Women’s Title with “Ms. Money-in-the-Bank” Carmella a guest on commentary, notably with James Ellsworth on a literal leash! During the match, Naomi would avoid the Sharpshooter of Natalya by kicking Natalya out of the ring. This would lead to a face-off between Natalya and Carmella at ringside with Natalya shoving Carmella before Naomi breaks it up by diving to the outside, taking out both Carmella and James Ellsworth with Natalya just barely getting out of harm’s way. Natalya then takes advantage by sending Naomi face-first into the ring post before bringing Naomi back into the ring, locking in the Sharpshooter and making Naomi tap out to successfully retain the SmackDown Women’s Title in a chaotic match. After coming out as Shane McMahon earlier in the night, Dolph Ziggler would come out to the stage as himself on Sin City SmackDown LIVE, saying that he is the “greatest in-ring performer in WWE history”. Dolph then says that he shouldn’t need an “elaborate entrance” for them to see him as a star but they think that an elaborate entrance is what makes someone a star. With that, Dolph heads to the back before coming back out, this time dressed as Bayley, doing Bayley’s entrance, complete with the inflatable Bayley Buddies. Dolph then mockingly asks the fans if they are having fun yet before saying that, at some point, the bell has to ring and a competitor has to actually be able to “compete”. Dolph then says that there is a Superstar who cannot hold a candle to his in-ring ability but, somehow, the fans “idolize” him. Once again, Dolph heads to the back before re-emerging as the late, great WWE Hall of Famer The Ultimate Warrior, running down to the ring and shaking the ropes just like the legendary Ultimate Warrior. After taking off his Ultimate Warrior mask and tassels, Dolph says that “anyone” can do what he just did but “no one” can do what he does in the ring. Ziggler then says that the fans “couldn’t care less” before saying that he “couldn’t care less” about them, exiting the ring, having again gone to ridiculous lengths to make his point. After a successful debut as a team two weeks ago, Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin would face The Hype Bros in tag team action. In the end, it was Shelton Benjamin lifting Zack Ryder up in a powerbomb position before Chad Gable comes off of the top rope with a neckbreaker as Gable pins Ryder to pick up the win for his team. After the match, Mojo Rawley would shake the hands of Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin but Zack Ryder would refuse, leaving the ring and heading to the back. Then it was time for the confrontation everyone had been waiting for as Kevin Owens would have to come face-to-face with WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon. Kevin Owens would make his way to the ring first to await the arrival of the Chairman. Owens would not have to wait long as, for the first time in four years, the boss would appear on SmackDown as WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon would make his way to the ring to confront Kevin Owens! Owens says that this is a first for him, saying that he gets to feel what every WWE Superstar has felt before him that has shared a ring with Vince McMahon, saying that McMahon is “intimidated”. Vince says that what he’s feeling is “nauseated”, saying that Owens “disparaged” the McMahon name last week. The Chairman then says that Kevin Owens mentioned earlier that he didn’t fight back because he “respects authority” but Vince says that Owens didn’t fight back because Shane was “beating your ass”! The Chairman then asks how Kevin Owens can look in the mirror and have any “respect” at all. Vince continues, saying that, instead of fighting back, Kevin Owens decides to sue, saying that Owens wants “power”. McMahon then says that, if Owens decides to sue, then he will be on the phone with Owens’ attorney and he hopes that Owens is there to hear Vince tell Owens, “you’re fired”! The Chairman then dares Kevin Owens to file his lawsuit, asking Owens if he has any idea how many lawsuits he’s been a part of and how many courtroom battles he’s been in, telling Owens that he has not lost a single one. Vince then says that, by the time Owens’ lawsuit would get to court, Owens will be “bankrupt” before again daring Kevin Owens to file his lawsuit and see what happens. Owens reminds the Chairman that Shane put his hands on Owens with Vince commenting that he suspended Shane, saying that he didn’t suspend Shane for putting his hands on Kevin Owens, he suspended Shane because Shane didn’t “finish the job”! McMahon then says that, for what Kevin Owens said about the McMahon family, Owens got what he “deserved” last week. Vince continues, saying that he is going to reinstate Shane and Shane is going to get the opportunity to finish the job because there’s not going to be a lawsuit, there’s going to be a match! The Chairman then makes the huge announcement that there will be a one-on-one match between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens and it will be inside Hell in a Cell! Owens agrees to this match but says that he wants to make sure that he doesn’t get fired for what he does to Shane McMahon before saying that he needs Mr. McMahon’s “word” that, if provoked, he can “beat a McMahon senseless” with the Chairman giving Kevin Owens his word. McMahon and Owens then shake hands on the deal with Vince inaudibly reading Owens the riot act before Owens does the unthinkable by headbutting the 72-year old grandfather, bloodying the Chairman! With Vince stunned and bloody on the mat, Kevin Owens would tell the Chairman that he just said that, if provoked, he could beat a McMahon “senseless”. Owens then glares at Vince as McMahon gets back to his feet, staring daggers through Kevin Owens before charging at Kevin Owens, trying to hit Owens but Owens knocks the Chairman back down with a right hand. A referee then rushes out to check on Vince McMahon while also trying to get Kevin Owens to leave the ring. However, the savage Kevin Owens would not stop his hideous assault on the McMahon family patriarch, kicking Vince in the mid-section! More referees then come out to try and stop Owens as Vince struggles to get back to his feet. Owens then looks like he is about to leave before Owens comes back into the ring and cheap-shots the Chairman with a super kick! Having clearly lost his mind, Kevin Owens would drag the 72-year old Chairman into position before Owens tosses a referee to the side. Owens then climbs to the top rope before an agent rushes to the ring to try and stop Kevin Owens, but Owens pays no attention to the agent before coming off of the top rope with a frog splash to the helpless Mr. McMahon! The agent then calls for medical assistance while shouting his disdain at Kevin Owens, making sure that Owens finally leaves the ring. EMT’s then tend to the motionless Chairman in the ring as Kevin Owens looks on from the ramp in disbelief of what he just did. This brings out Vince’s daughter Stephanie McMahon, who gets right in the face of Kevin Owens before going to check on her father as Stephanie and the medical personnel help Vince walk to the back as the Chairman refuses to be put on a stretcher.
