WWE RAW Results: September 18, 2017By Cassidy| September 19, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results With six nights to go before No Mercy, RAW kicks off with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle as the GM begins to give a rundown of the No Mercy, hyping up John Cena vs. Roman Reigns and the Universal Title match between Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. However, the GM is quickly interrupted by Intercontinental Champion The Miz, who makes his way to the ring with The Miztourage in tow. Kurt tries to offer The Miz his well wishes on The Miz soon becoming a father, but The Miz was having none of it, saying that he doesn’t appreciate being “overlooked” again, saying that the GM is out there hyping up No Mercy, but he’s doing it without RAW’s “biggest star”. The Miz then says that No Mercy will be the second pay-per-view in a row where the Intercontinental Championship is not going to be defended. The GM responds by saying that, if The Miz would have let him finish, he was going to make an announcement regarding the Intercontinental Championship. Kurt then announces that there will be a Fatal 4-Way Match tonight between Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Elias, and Jason Jordan with the winner challenging The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at No Mercy this Sunday. The Miz takes issue with Kurt Angle’s son, Jason Jordan, being in the match, saying that Jason doesn’t “deserve” to be in the match because there are “countless Superstars” who are more deserving. The Intercontinental Champion then points to his Miztourage of Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel of two good examples of this, saying that they have been “shining” for years but they get “leap-frogged” by Kurt’s “failure of a son”. The Miz continues, asking if Jason Jordan got Kurt a “#1 Dad” mug and played some catch with him if they could move on and stop rewarding Jason Jordan for doing “absolutely nothing”. Losing his patience with The Miz, Kurt says that he’s getting sick and tired of hearing The Miz’s whining and complaining, commenting that, hopefully, fatherhood will “change” The Miz. The Miz fires back, saying that Kurt walked out on his responsibilities as a father and now he’s making everybody pay for his mistake. The Intercontinental Champion says that he will be there for his child on “day one”, saying that he will be a “better father” than Kurt ever could be and he’s a “better champion” than Kurt ever was! The Miz continues, saying that he and The Miztourage should be Kurt’s priority but the GM’s priority is Jason Jordan because Kurt missed twenty-eight years of Jason Jordan’s life and now Kurt is trying to make it up to Jason at the expense of the rest of the locker room. The Intercontinental Champion then says that it doesn’t matter whether it’s Kurt’s responsibilities as the RAW General Manager or his responsibilities as a father because you can always count on Kurt Angle to be a “deadbeat”. Having heard enough of The Miz’s disrespect for his father, Jason Jordan comes down to the ring to confront The Miz, threatening to knock The Miz’s teeth down his throat if The Miz says one more word about Kurt Angle. Jason then tells his father to put Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel in the #1 Contender’s Match with himself, Elias, Matt Hardy, and Jeff Hardy, saying that, then, The Miz won’t have “any excuses” when Jason Jordan faces The Miz for the title at No Mercy. Kurt agrees, announcing that the match will now be a Six Pack Challenge between Jason Jordan, Elias, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel with the winner facing The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at No Mercy. The Miz explains that adding more Superstars to the match just decreases Jason Jordan’s chances of winning, saying that Jason is even more “incompetent” than his father. Jason responds by tackling The Miz before The Miztourage steps in, restraining Jason Jordan, allowing The Miz to escape the ring while Jason Jordan takes it to The Miztourage, tossing both Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel out of the ring. Kurt then holds his son back as The Miz & The Miztourage regroup on the outside. Backstage, Kurt Angle tries to calm Jason Jordan down as Jason tells his father that The Miz isn’t the only one talking about Kurt, saying that he hears the “whispers” in the locker room. Kurt responds by asking what Jason Jordan thought was going to happen when it came out that he was Jason’s father with Jordan saying that he didn’t ask for this. The GM then says that he knows that Jason is strong enough to fight back but, sometimes, it takes more strength to not fight back before saying that, if Jason really wants to get back at The Miz, then Jason needs to win this match tonight and beat The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at No Mercy. Before they, along with Sasha Banks and Emma, compete in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the RAW Women’s Championship this Sunday at No Mercy, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss would go one-on-one with the dominant Nia Jax in a non-title match in the opening match of the night. During the match, Nia Jax would dominate Alexa Bliss in the early going, making the RAW Women’s Champion rethink the match as Alexa would try to walk out on the match. However, Sasha Banks would come out, stopping Alexa from leaving. Alexa would turn around and head back towards the ring, but the champion would walk right into a waiting Nia Jax who takes Alexa down. Shortly after this, Alexa Bliss would try her best to battle back against the mastodon but, when Alexa tries to come off of the top rope, she’s caught by Nia, who plants Alexa with the Samoan Drop, pinning the RAW Women’s Champion to pick up a big win ahead of No Mercy. As soon as the match is over, Sasha Banks would pounce on Nia Jax, trying to beat Nia down but Nia would take “The Boss” down with ease. Nia was then about to do further damage before an unexpected return stops the behemoth in her tracks as San Jose’s own Bayley makes her return! Not backing down, Nia Jax would dare Bayley to come into the ring and, as Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss both get back to their feet, Bayley steps into the ring, standing side-by-side with Sasha and Alexa as the three Superstars work together to take down Nia Jax, sending Nia out of the ring. This leaves Alexa, Sasha, and Bayley standing tall in the ring as Nia Jax heads to the back, having been outdone by the numbers game. Alexa then tries to join in on the celebration with Sasha and Bayley but Sasha would kick the RAW Women’s Champion in the mid-section before Bayley grabs Alexa and plants “The Goddess” with the Bayley-to-Belly! Sasha and Bayley then celebrate in the ring, having taken out two of the four Superstars in the Fatal 4-Way Match for the RAW Women’s Championship at No Mercy. Before they get their rematch for the RAW Tag Team Titles against Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins at No Mercy this Sunday, Cesaro & Sheamus would address their match at No Mercy. Sheamus tells the crowd that they love to wrap themselves up in “nostalgia” but he and Cesaro “destroy nostalgia acts”. Cesaro then says that is why they love Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins, saying that something will go “wrong” this Sunday at No Mercy. Sheamus then says that Ambrose & Rollins are using each other for their own “selfish needs”. Cesaro then says that nostalgia will fade and the “truth” will set in and the truth is that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins cannot stand each other. Sheamus then says that the friendship of Ambrose & Rollins is “fragile” and it’s about to “crack” and, when it does, they will be there to pick up the pieces and take back the RAW Tag Team Titles. Sheamus continues, saying that they’re closer than “brothers”, declaring that they “set the bar”. This brings out RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins as Rollins says that Cesaro & Sheamus look like a cross between Taxi Driver and Braveheart before assuring Cesaro & Sheamus that they are “brothers”. Ambrose then says that a brother would never let his brother leave the house dressed like Cesaro & Sheamus are dressed. Gallows & Anderson then join the discussion, saying that Cesaro & Sheamus are “not good brothers” for abandoning them last week before saying the same about Ambrose & Rollins, saying they took “advantage” of their “disadvantage” last week, declaring that makes Ambrose & Rollins “nerds”. Ambrose responds by saying “nobody calls me a nerd” before attacking Gallows & Anderson, sparking a brawl between the three teams that ends with Ambrose & Rollins clearing the ring, leaving the RAW Tag Team Champions standing tall. Following their brawl moments earlier, RAW would see a non-title Triple Threat Tag Match as RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins, Cesaro & Sheamus, and Gallows & Anderson would square off in the unique match. At the end of a chaotic match, it was Dean Ambrose hitting Karl Anderson with Dirty Deeds before Sheamus tosses Ambrose out of the ring, stealing the pin for himself as Cesaro & Sheamus pick up the win, gaining some momentum heading into the RAW Tag Team Title match at No Mercy. Backstage, Kurt Angle is confronted by Goldust, who is without his face paint, as Goldust asks for another match with Bray Wyatt so he can get some revenge for Bray wiping off his face paint last week. Goldust pleads with the GM, saying that Kurt knew his father and he’s not asking Kurt as Goldust, he’s asking Kurt as Dustin Rhodes! Kurt then decides to grant Dustin his rematch with Dustin saying that Bray Wyatt will “never forget the name, Dustin Rhodes”. Curt Hawkins would then appear on RAW, proclaiming that he is going to end his 114 match losing streak. Hawkins would then go one-on-one with Apollo Crews, with Titus O’Neil in his corner. In the end, Curt Hawkins’ losing streak would continue as Apollo Crews would hit his spinning sitout powerbomb, pinning Hawkins to pick up the win. Before they clash for the Universal Title at No Mercy this Sunday, both Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, along with his advocate Paul Heyman, and challenger Braun Strowman would take part in a special satellite interview with Michael Cole. When asked about being perceived as the “underdog” at No Mercy, Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman says that Brock is familiar with being seen as the underdog, saying that Brock was seen as the underdog in his match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Heyman then says that Braun Strowman will be “beaten” and “victimized” by Brock at No Mercy. Braun Strowman is then asked about his level of confidence heading into No Mercy and Braun says that he lets his actions do the talking, saying that he’s left Brock laying like no one else has done. Braun then says that he’s the only one who is capable of putting Brock Lesnar down “for good”. Paul Heyman responds by saying that Braun is the “most capable challenger” to come after Brock’s Universal Title before Braun interrupts, saying that he’s going to walk into Suplex City and “stomp it to the ground”. Heyman then says that Brock Lesnar understands that he is going to have to beat Braun within an inch of his life to walk out as the champion, saying that Brock must lay waste to Braun to walk out as the champion. Braun responds by saying that Heyman can talk all he wants, it doesn’t change what’s going to happen this Sunday. Paul Heyman then insists that the questions should be focused on the “newsmaker” Brock Lesnar before the advocate lists off Brock’s accomplishments before asking what will happen to the “mystique” of Brock Lesnar should Braun Strowman win this Sunday. However, Lesnar then signals for his advocate’s silence before addressing Strowman himself, thanking Braun for backing him into this corner before saying that he’s at his best when he is truly “challenged”, telling Braun that he will see him this Sunday, concluding by telling Strowman three simple words, “Suplex City, bitch”. Six nights before he goes one-on-one with John Cena at No Mercy this Sunday, Roman Reigns would make an appearance on RAW to address his No Mercy opponent. Roman says that John Cena accused him of being the “next John Cena” before refuting that claim, saying that he’s not some “jacked up white guy with a giant head and a military crew cut” before saying that, if he did, he wouldn’t have a career in WWE. Reigns then says that, if they don’t believe him, they should ask Alex Riley about that! Reigns continues, saying that he usually lets his actions do the talking so that, when he does say something, it “means something” before saying Cena is “the biggest hypocrite to ever step foot in a WWE ring”. Reigns then shows an appearance John Cena made on RAW back in February of 2012 where Cena is discussing The Rock as Cena says that he has “always showed up” and he’s “never left” before saying that, as soon as The Rock got his first taste of Hollywood, he was on his way out of WWE. 2012 John Cena then says that he’s there and he will always be there. Roman then points out that John Cena is not here tonight before saying that Cena is all talk, commenting that the result this Sunday will be the same as the result of Cena’s match with The Rock at WrestleMania 28 except, this time, Cena is going to get beaten by a different Samoan. Reigns then concludes by telling Cena that he will see him at No Mercy, calling Cena “movie star” before leaving the ring. Before he goes “man-to-man” against Finn Balor at No Mercy, Bray Wyatt would have to deal with some unfinished business on RAW as “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt would go man-to-man with the man behind the Goldust face paint, Dustin Rhodes. Despite a fiery onslaught from Dustin Rhodes, Bray Wyatt would emerge victorious, hitting Dustin with Sister Abigail and pinning Dustin to pick up the win. After the match, Finn Balor would appear on the Tron, saying that he “created a demon”, asking if the demon is the creation of man, then which one is more dangerous? Finn then says that Bray will find out the answer to that at No Mercy this Sunday. Enzo Amore would then make an appearance on RAW to address his match against Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Title at No Mercy. However, Enzo would be abruptly interrupted by Braun Strowman as “The Monster Among Men” would bulldoze Enzo on the stage before literally dragging Enzo towards the ring, tossing Enzo into the ring. Braun would then chokeslam Enzo with ease before squashing Enzo with his signature powerslam! Braun then leaves the ring, crossing paths with WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville as Neville wisely keeps his distance from “The Monster Among Men”. Neville then decides to pick the bones left by Strowman as Neville would make his way to the ring, hitting a motionless Enzo Amore with the Red Arrow. The WWE Cruiserweight Champion then grabs a microphone, mocking Enzo by asking “how you doin?”, laughing at his No Mercy opponent. After taking advantage of Braun Strowman’s attack on Enzo Amore to further damage his No Mercy opponent, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville would go one-on-one with Gran Metalik in a non-title match. While Gran Metalik would take it to the champion for much of the match, Neville would neutralize Gran Metalik with the Rings of Saturn, making Gran Metalik tap out to pick up the win. Then it was time for a chaotic main event as, with Intercontinental Champion The Miz at ringside, Elias, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, and Jason Jordan would compete in a Six Pack Challenge with the first Superstar to score a pinfall or submission will challenge The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at No Mercy. During the match, Bo Dallas would throw Jason Jordan out of the ring and, with no disqualifications in the match, The Miz would take full advantage, beating Jason Jordan down on the outside before tossing Jason over the barricade. Shortly after this, Jeff Hardy would take control of the match, hitting Curtis Axel with the Twist of Fate and following it up with the Swanton Bomb, but The Miz would get involved again, this time breaking up the pinfall attempt. Jeff is then quick to toss The Miz out of the ring before Curtis Axel hits his signature neckbreaker on Jeff Hardy. However, Jason Jordan then re-enters the ring, hitting his pop-up neckbreaker on Curtis Axel, pinning Axel to win the Six Pack Challenge to earn the right to challenge The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at No Mercy. The Miz then enters the ring, coming face-to-face with his next challenger before Jason Jordan dodges a cheap shot from The Miz, hitting a suplex on the Intercontinental Champion before The Miztourage gets involved, beating down Jason Jordan. The Miz then caps this off with the Skull Crushing Finale to Jason Jordan before telling Jason that, after No Mercy, he will still be the Intercontinental Champion while Jason Jordan will still be a “bastard”. The Miz then stands tall over Jason Jordan with The Miztourage by his side, holding the Intercontinental Title up high. What did you think of the go-home RAW before No Mercy?
