WWE RAW Results: September 11, 2017By Cassidy| September 12, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results Before RAW officially gets underway, the fans in the arena are asked to stand in a moment of silence for those lost in the terrorist attacks sixteen years ago on September 11, 2001 with the entire arena paying their respects before chanting “USA”. Thirteen nights before he goes one-on-one with John Cena at No Mercy, RAW kicks off with “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns as Roman would go one-on-one with Jason Jordan in an attempt to outdo John Cena’s match against Jason Jordan last week. Throughout the match, Jason Jordan would hold his own against Roman Reigns, nearly beating “The Big Dog” on a few different occasions but, in the end, it was Roman Reigns connecting with the Superman Punch and following it up with the Spear, pinning Jason Jordan to pick up the win. After the match, Roman Reigns would show his respect for the up-and-comer, shaking hands with Jason Jordan. John Cena would then makes his way to the ring to confront his No Mercy opponent, Roman Reigns. Cena says that he’s “excited” to hear what Roman has to say, pointing out Roman’s criticism of Cena last week after his match against Jason Jordan, telling Reigns that he’s got some “explaining to do”. Cena then pokes fun at Roman Reigns, telling Roman to keep it to one sentence like “cause it’s my yard, believe that”. Reigns responds by saying that he was just out there having a “great match”, saying that he’s had more “great matches” in the last two years than John Cena has had in his entire career. Cena says that Roman makes it “easy” for him, saying that he doesn’t even need to “stay sharp” because all he’s got to do is let Roman Reigns come out there and “talk”. Cena then says that they can’t pin this one on him, commenting that Reigns is “burying himself”. Cena continues, saying that nobody has ever cut Roman Reigns down to size and that is why he’s there, saying that he challenges himself every day to “try everything”. Cena then says that Reigns thinks that he’s already “made it” before telling Roman that he is going to learn what “real failure” is all about. Cena then says that, week after week, he gives Roman Reigns a chance and, every week, Roman “fails” and that’s not what “the guy” does, telling Reigns that he should have done his homework before dragging his “sorry ass” out there. John Cena then says that, if Roman Reigns really is “the guy”, then Roman will show him something at No Mercy before saying that, if Reigns shows up at No Mercy like he showed up here tonight, then No Mercy is going to be a “cakewalk”. Cena then starts to leave the ring, but Roman was not through, telling Cena to get back into the ring before saying that Cena came to RAW to call him out because he’s been “selling the tickets” that John Cena hasn’t sold in five years. Reigns then says that WWE doesn’t need John Cena but John Cena needs WWE because Cena can’t break out into Hollywood, commentating that he knows a guy. Roman continues, saying that it doesn’t matter what Cena has to say because Cena can’t “back it up”. Cena responds by saying that he’s going to put it into terms that even Roman Reigns can understand, saying that, at No Mercy, Roman should consider him like a “drug test” because Roman “ain’t getting past” him! Cena then leaves the ring as Roman is left with a smirk on his face. Before they are part of the Fatal 4-Way Match for the RAW Women’s Championship, along with Nia Jax and defending champion Alexa Bliss, at No Mercy, “The Boss” Sasha Banks would go one-on-one with Emma on RAW with RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss a guest on commentary. During the match, Alexa’s mood would change once Nia Jax comes out, sitting next to the RAW Women’s Champion on commentary. In the end, it was Sasha Banks locking in the Bank Statement on Emma, making Emma tap out to pick up the win. Less than two weeks before he puts the Universal Championship on the line against Braun Strowman at No Mercy, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, along with his advocate Paul Heyman, would make an appearance on RAW. After doing his trademark introduction, Paul Heyman says that the odds are against Brock Lesnar at No Mercy, pointing out Braun Strowman’s domination against Brock Lesnar in recent weeks. Heyman then says that Braun will have to “rip” the Universal Title away from Brock Lesnar at No Mercy before saying that, back in 2002, Lesnar “asserted his declarative mantra” by defeating the likes of The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Rob Van Dam, and The Undertaker. The advocate continues, asking if Braun Strowman is going to “monster-handle” John Cena in their match tonight and also asking if Strowman is ready to cross over into “Suplex City”. Heyman then says that he knows that Braun Strowman is waiting for an “excuse” to come out there and fight the Universal Champion, calling Braun out for a fight against Brock Lesnar. “The Monster Among Men” would not waste any time in coming out to the ring, making a beeline for Brock Lesnar as the two monsters collide! Braun would look for the running powerslam but Brock would counter, hitting a big German suplex on Strowman but “The Monster Among Men” would get right back up! This leaves “The Beast” visibly shocked before Braun lifts the Universal Champion up, planting Lesnar with a chokeslam before loading Brock up on his shoulder and hitting Brock with the running powerslam! Having again asserted his surreal dominance over Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman would hold the Universal Title up high with his foot on the chest of “The Beast”! Braun then places the Universal Title belt on Brock, symbolically slapping the title belt three times before leaving the ring, again laying waste to Brock Lesnar. Before going one-on-one with Goldust on RAW, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt would appear on the Tron to address “The Bizarre One”. Bray says that he used to think that Goldust was bizarre and different, but now he thinks that Goldust is “afraid” to take off the face paint and show the world the man that lives underneath. Bray then says that Goldust wishes that his paint would “dry for good”, saying that, just like Finn Balor, Goldust’s pain is his “weapon” to hide him from the truth, saying that both Finn and Goldust are just “mortal men” before telling Goldust to “run”. Less than two weeks before he faces Finn Balor at No Mercy, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt would go one-on-one with “The Bizarre One” Goldust. In the end, it was Bray Wyatt hitting Goldust with Sister Abigail, pinning the legend to pick up the win. After the match, Bray Wyatt would grab a white towel, using the towel to wipe the face paint off of Goldust, yelling that Goldust is “just a man”. Finn Balor then rushes the ring as Bray Wyatt makes a quick escape, leaving Finn standing tall in defense of Goldust. With RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins guests on commentary, their No Mercy opponents Cesaro & Sheamus were scheduled to face Gallows & Anderson in tag team action on RAW. However, before the match can begin, Cesaro & Sheamus would get in the faces of Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins, leading to a brawl between the No Mercy opponents. This brawl would be joined by Gallows & Anderson, who work with Cesaro & Sheamus to take out the RAW Tag Team Champions on the stage. Cesaro & Sheamus and Gallows & Anderson then stare each other down before the two teams brawl and Ambrose & Rollins rejoin the fight! Referees and agents then rush out to break it up, doing their best to keep the three teams separated. Moments after their brawl with Cesaro & Sheamus and Gallows & Anderson, RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins confront RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, demanding a match against both teams tonight. However, the GM says that he can’t put them in jeopardy like that this close to No Mercy but Kurt offers the champions a solution, telling Ambrose & Rollins that, if they can find two tag team partners, they will get their match against Cesaro & Sheamus and Gallows & Anderson tonight. It was then revealed via a video package that RAW General Manager Kurt Angle has signed the biggest free agent in WWE, bringing the most dominant female Superstar in NXT history to Monday nights as former NXT Women’s Champion Asuka is “coming soon” to RAW! Elias was in action on RAW as Elias would go one-on-one with the high-flying Kalisto. In the end, it was Elias hitting Kalisto with Drift Away, pinning Kalisto for the win. With both men anticipating huge matches at No Mercy, RAW would see sixteen-time former World Champion John Cena go one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman for the first time ever. Throughout the match, Braun Strowman would dominate John Cena but Cena would be able to mount a comeback, hitting “The Monster Among Men” with the Attitude Adjustment but Braun is able to roll out of the ring. On the outside, Cena would charge at Strowman with Braun grabbing the steel steps and blasting Cena in the face with the heavy steel! Strowman then slides the bottom half of the steps into the ring before bringing Cena back into the ring with destructive intent. “The Monster Among Men” then picks John Cena up, using his running powerslam to slam John Cena onto the unforgiving steel steps! The referee then finally calls for the bell as Braun Strowman stands on top of the steps, having laid waste to John Cena. Intercontinental Champion The Miz, his wife Maryse, and The Miztourage would then make an appearance on RAW to present Miz TV. Before introducing his guest, The Miz would say that he and Maryse have a very special announcement that will “change WWE forever”. The Miz then says that they decided that there is no better place to make this announcement than in the place that they first met, right there in front of the fans. At the behest of the Intercontinental Champion, Maryse makes the big announcement that her and The Miz are going to have a baby! The Miz then looks his wife in the face as he says that, unlike Kurt Angle, he will be there for their child. The Intercontinental Champion then starts to read a prepared speech before he’s interrupted by his guest on Miz TV, Enzo Amore. The Miz tells Enzo that Enzo interrupted a very personal moment between him and his wife, saying that Enzo doesn’t come out until he introduces him. Enzo says that, sometimes, he speaks before he thinks with The Miz responding by telling Enzo that Amore thinks he knows better than everyone else, saying that’s why Enzo is kicked off of WWE tour buses and kicked out of the WWE locker room! The Miz then says that Enzo did not choose to go to the Cruiserweight Division, saying that Enzo had “nowhere else” to go because no one on the RAW roster can stand him! The Intercontinental Champion continues, saying that he knows what it’s like to rub people the wrong way in WWE, saying that he rebranded himself and he “earned” the respect of the locker room. The Miz then says that he sees so much talent in Enzo Amore but Enzo makes “mistake after mistake after mistake” and he’s sick of watching it. The Miz then says that Enzo thinks he can hang with a guy like Neville, who hones his craft and only cares about bettering himself in the ring while all Enzo cares about is hanging out with “third-rate rappers”. The Miz continues, telling Enzo that the other Cruiserweights on 205 Live leave the fans speechless with their aerial maneuvers but, when Enzo gets on the top rope, he falls right on his face. The Intercontinental Champion then says that Enzo doesn’t have a seven-foot tall “meal ticket” anymore before calling Enzo a “con artist with a couple of catchphrases”! Enzo says that he and The Miz have been in similar situations but they having nothing in common before saying that The Miz made enemies in the locker room by “copying” the likes of Chris Jericho and Ric Flair. Enzo then says that he is “original” while The Miz is a “carbon copy of other people” before saying that he’s going on to No Mercy to beat Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Title before calling The Miz a “paper champion”. The Miz responds by saying that, if Enzo was “championship material”, then Enzo’s best friend wouldn’t have “abandoned” him. Enzo responds by saying that he may not have a lot of friends, but he’s got the two things he needs to beat The Miz “right here, right now”. The Miz says that Enzo has “no idea” what he’s getting himself into, saying that he’s going to show Enzo what it’s like to carry yourself like a “champion” before stating that he is dedicating this match to his unborn child with Enzo firing back by calling The Miz “sawft”. Following a confrontation on Miz TV, RAW would see Enzo Amore go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion The Miz, with Maryse & The Miztourage in his corner, in a non-title match. During the match, both The Miz and Enzo Amore would grab a microphone to taunt their opponent but Enzo would cross the line when Enzo refers to The Miz’s unborn child, saying that The Miz should be asking “who’s your daddy?” This would enrage The Miz, who pummels Enzo before tossing Enzo to the outside. This is when The Miztourage would get involved as Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel would beat Enzo down on the outside, ending the match by disqualification. The Miztourage then tosses Enzo Amore back into the ring where The Miz plants Enzo with the Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz then celebrates by kissing Maryse in the ring, standing over Enzo. Then it was time for the main event as RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins would team up with the legendary Hardy Boyz to face the team of Cesaro & Sheamus and Gallows & Anderson in an 8-Man Tag match. At the end of a wild match, it was Jeff Hardy hitting Luke Gallows with the Twist of Fate before Matt Hardy also hits a Twist of Fate on Gallows. The Hardy Boyz then stand guard on the ring apron, waiting for Cesaro & Sheamus to come and fight but Cesaro & Sheamus would opt to leave their tag partners high and dry as Seth Rollins would catch Karl Anderson with the Knee Trigger and Dean Ambrose would follow it up with Dirty Deeds with Rollins pinning Anderson to pick up the win for his team. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins then stare-down Cesaro & Sheamus as the RAW Tag Team Champions and The Hardy Boyz are left standing tall in the ring. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
