WWE RAW Results: July 24, 2017By Cassidy| July 25, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results One week after the shocking revelation that, unbeknownst to him until recently, he was the father of former SmackDown Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan, RAW kicks off with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. The GM says that, for the past few months, he’s been dealing with a “private matter” that has taken up a lot of his time and, at times, affecting his ability to be the RAW General Manager. Angle then says that he made the private matter public last week by introducing the son he never thought he had and the newest member of the RAW roster, Jason Jordan. The GM continues, saying that he’s been making up for lost time with Jason Jordan for the past week and, tonight, Jason Jordan will have his very first match on RAW! Angle then says that he gave Jason an opportunity and the rest is up to him before the GM turns his attention to the situation regarding the #1 Contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship at SummerSlam. Kurt reminds everyone that last week’s #1 Contender’s match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe was ended inconclusively thanks to the emergence of Braun Strowman. Then, just as the GM is about to announce Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam opponent, Kurt is interrupted by the arrival of “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman. Braun tells the GM that the next words out of his mouth better be “Braun Strowman” or else, saying that, unlike Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe, he won his match at Great Balls of Fire. Strowman then declares that he does not “fear” Brock Lesnar but Brock “fears” him before vowing to “break Brock Lesnar in half” at SummerSlam and become the new Universal Champion. This brings out “The Destroyer” Samoa Joe, who makes his way to the ring and gets in Braun Strowman’s face, telling Braun that he is Samoa Joe and he is the man who “tamed” Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire. Joe then says that he is the one who “does not fear” Brock Lesnar and he doesn’t fear Braun Strowman either! Joe then says that all that Braun accomplished last week was saving Roman Reigns from losing to him for a third time. Joe then tells Kurt Angle that Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman still have unfinished business with each other so, at SummerSlam, Kurt needs to give “The Beast” to him. Roman Reigns then saunters his way down to the ring to join the conversation. Reigns tells Samoa Joe that he hasn’t “done anything” around here before telling Braun Strowman that he has been here for a “hiccup” and he hasn’t done anything either. Roman then says that, in five years, he’s been a WWE Tag Team Champion, a United States Champion, and a three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Roman continues, saying that he’s won the Royal Rumble Match and he’s competed at WrestleMania five times and he was in the main event of WrestleMania three of those times and, in the most recent WrestleMania main event, he retired The Undertaker. Roman then says that Joe and Strowman have not done anything yet before all three men look ready for a fight. However, Kurt Angle gets in the middle of the volatile situation and says that he has changed his mind again. The GM then announces that, at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar will be facing Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman in a Fatal 4-Way Match for the Universal Championship! After this huge announcement, Kurt Angle starts to leave the ring but Samoa Joe was not pleased with Kurt’s decision, but Angle does not back down, telling Joe that “we’re done here” and that they are done when he says they’re done. The GM then starts to head to the back as Braun Strowman states that he doesn’t care how many people he has to face, all he cares about is “piling bodies”. Roman then tells Braun to “shut up” before attacking “The Monster Among Men”, sparking a brawl between the three men as Reigns and Joe work together to try and take Strowman out, managing to send Braun over the barricade. Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe then focus on each other, brawling back into the ring before Braun Strowman re-enters the fray, tossing Reigns shoulder-first into the ring post. Kurt Angle then calls for security to come down and break it up, but Braun Strowman would take down one security guard with a big boot before taking out two more with right hands and tossing a fourth over the top rope to the outside. Braun then literally throws the fifth security guard clean over the top rope! However, the distraction caused by security would give Samoa Joe the opportunity to lock in the Coquina Clutch on “The Monster Among Men”! With security failing to stop the wild brawl, Kurt Angle calls for the RAW Superstars to try and break it up as The Revival, Gallows & Anderson, Goldust, Curt Hawkins, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel all rush out and try to break it up with Braun backing up into the corner with Joe on his back, which squashes some Superstars while knocking others down. Roman Reigns then charges back into the fight, blasting Strowman with a huge Spear before emptying the ring of everyone but himself and Braun Strowman! As even more Superstars come out to try and stop the brawl, but the Superstars steer clear of Braun Strowman as “The Monster Among Men” grabs Roman and plants “The Big Dog” with a running powerslam. With several Superstars restraining Samoa Joe on the outside, Heath Slater and R-Truth pull Roman Reigns out of the ring before Strowman exits the ring as well, chasing several Superstars off in the process. After Elias Samson smashed his guitar over the head of Finn Balor last week, the rematch would take place on RAW as the opening match of the night would see Finn Balor go one-on-one with Elias Samson in a No Disqualification Match. With Finn Balor’s left shoulder taped up as a result of Elias Samson’s attack last week, Samson would target the shoulder of Balor before Finn grabs a steel chair. Taking full advantage of the lawless match, Finn would look to use the chair as a weapon but Elias would turn the tables, delivering a chair shot to the back of Finn Balor as Finn rolls to the outside to try and collect himself. After sending Samson into a steel chair wedged in the corner, Finn Balor would regain the advantage in the match, taking it to Elias on the outside. Balor then sends Samson back into the ring before grabbing the steel chair, using the chair to wear out Elias before delivering a dropkick that sends Samson into the corner. With Elias in position, Finn Balor would score with the Coup de Grace but before Finn could make the cover, the lights go out in the arena before the lights come back on and Bray Wyatt appears in the ring with Finn Balor in his grip. Bray then hits Finn with Sister Abigail before “The Eater of Worlds” watches as Elias Samson crawls to the cover, pinning Finn Balor to pick up the win in the No Disqualification Match, thanks to Bray Wyatt. After the match, Elias Samson would exit the ring as Bray Wyatt spider-walks over to Finn Balor, muttering something to Balor before kneeling next to Balor with his arms outstretched. Backstage, Renee Young is conducting an interview with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle regarding Kurt finding out that his son is Jason Jordan. However, Emma interrupts the interview to voice her complaints to the GM. Emma tells Kurt that she is happy for Kurt and Jason and all that, but wants to know when the focus is going to be back on her. Emma then says that she’s had to sit on the “sidelines” every week while people who used to look up to her like Bayley and Sasha Banks are getting all the opportunities. Emma then asks what she has to do to “get noticed” before suggesting that, maybe, she will start dating Kurt’s son to get his attention! Taken aback, Kurt says that Emma will have the chance to get noticed tonight when she goes one-on-one with Nia Jax! In a rematch from Great Balls of Fire, former friends would face off again as Enzo Amore would go one-on-one with the seven-footer from Queens, Big Cass. After methodically pummeling Enzo Amore from pillar to post for several minutes, Big Cass would blast Enzo with a big boot, pinning Enzo to pick up another decisive victory over his former tag team partner. After the match, Big Cass would look to punish Enzo further before “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show would come down to the ring to come to the aid of Enzo. However, Big Cass would shove Enzo into Big Show, allowing Big Cass to catch “The World’s Largest Athlete” with a big boot. Cass then delivers three back-to-back Empire Elbows to Big Show but Big Show still tries to fight back so Big Cass knocks Big Show down again before dropping two more Empire Elbows on the giant. Big Cass then continues to beat Big Show down, talking trash to the legend before putting the boots to Big Show. A referee then comes out to check on Big Show as Big Cass celebrates his handiwork. After confronting Kurt Angle and asking what she has to do to get “noticed”, Emma would have the unenviable task of going one-on-one with the dominant Nia Jax on RAW. Emma would try her best to take down her larger opponent to no avail as Nia Jax would flatten Emma with a running senton, pinning Emma to pick up a dominant win. Backstage, Akira Tozawa has his shoulder all taped up following an assault by Ariya Daivari on 205 Live last week as Akira says that he asked for a rematch against Daivari here tonight. However, Akira Tozawa’s manager, Titus O’Neil, interrupts to tell Tozawa that Akira’s shoulder is a “liability” right now and he’s looking out for Akira’s best interests. Titus then tells Tozawa that he talked to Kurt Angle and the WWE medical staff and got his match against Daivari canceled! Akira is outraged by Titus’ decision with Titus telling Tozawa that he cannot compete tonight. A defiant Tozawa then declares that he’s going out to the ring right now, walking through the backstage area and telling Titus to stay in the back as Titus tries to reason with his client. Akira Tozawa then makes his way out to the ring with Titus O’Neil still in tow trying to reason with Akira. This leads to a face-to-face confrontation where Tozawa shoves his manager, glaring defiantly at Titus. With Titus O’Neil apparently leaving the ring, Akira Tozawa would call Ariya Daivari out to face him one-on-one. However, Akira instead gets Cruiserweight Champion Neville who says that Akira’s injured shoulder and his “shattered confidence” is all because of him. Neville then says that Tozawa is in no condition to stand toe-to-toe with “The King of the Cruiserweights”. Now in the ring, the Cruiserweight Champion says that Akira’s affiliation with Titus O’Neil got him nowhere before calling Tozawa “pathetic”. Having heard enough, Tozawa would attack the Cruiserweight Champion before hitting Neville with his senton off of the top rope, appearing to further injure his shoulder in the process. Ariya Daivari then comes out to pick the bones of Akira Tozawa, hitting a vicious clothesline on Tozawa before Daivari decides to make a statement by turning the Cruiserweight Champion inside out with a wicked clothesline as well! Ariya Daivari then stands tall over Neville and Akira Tozawa, having made an emphatic statement. With RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss a guest on commentary, best friends would have to compete against each other for a golden opportunity on RAW as Bayley would go one-on-one with “The Boss” Sasha Banks with the winner facing Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Title at SummerSlam. In a great back-and-forth match between the two best friends, it would come down to Sasha Banks coming off of the top rope with a frog splash to Bayley only for Bayley to reverse the pinfall attempt into a pinfall of her own, keeping Sasha down for a three-count to win the match and punch her ticket to SummerSlam where she will get another match against Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship! After the match, Alexa Bliss would come down to the ring, coming face-to-face with her SummerSlam opponent as Alexa holds the RAW Women’s Title up high in the face of Bayley. The son of Kurt Angle would then make his in-ring RAW debut as former tag team champion Jason Jordan would go one-on-one with Curt Hawkins. After suplexing Curt Hawkins around the ring, Jason Jordan would put the finishing touches on Hawkins, hitting a lifting neckbreaker on Curt Hawkins, pinning Hawkins to pick up a win that would certainly make his father proud. After defeating the legendary Hardy Boyz last week, The Revival would look to continue to pick up steam on RAW as Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson would face Gallows & Anderson. During the match, The Revival looked to be in control of Gallows & Anderson but that is when The Hardy Boyz would come out to the stage, distracting The Revival. However, Gallows & Anderson would toss The Revival out of the ring before daring The Hardy Boyz to come fight them. This would allow The Revival to come from behind and take Karl Anderson out with the Shatter Machine as Scott Dawson pins Anderson for the win. After the match, The Hardy Boyz would rush to the ring, tossing Scott Dawson out of the ring before isolating Dash Wilder. Matt Hardy would then hit the Twist of Fate but, as Jeff Hardy is about to hit Dash with the Swanton Bomb, Scott Dawson is able to pull his tag team partner to safety. Then it was time for the main event as former Shield teammates would reunite as “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would team with “The Kingslayer” Seth Rollins to face Intercontinental Champion The Miz and his Miztourage of Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel, with Maryse in their corner, in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. Towards the end of a wild match, The Miz would tag himself into the match before planting Dean Ambrose with the Skull Crushing Finale, but Seth Rollins is able to break up the pinfall attempt at the last possible second! Ambrose & Rollins would then dive to the outside to take out Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel before The Miz tries for another Skull Crushing Finale to Dean Ambrose in the ring. This time, Seth Rollins comes off of the top rope with a knee to the head of The Miz which would allow Dean Ambrose to spike The Miz with Dirty Deeds, pinning the Intercontinental Champion to pick up the win for Ambrose & Rollins. The two then hug in the ring and celebrate their victory before Seth Rollins sticks his fist out just like their days in The Shield but Dean Ambrose leaves Seth hanging as “The Lunatic Fringe” heads to the back, leaving a disappointed Seth Rollins in the ring by himself.
