WWE RAW Results: July 10, 2017By Cassidy| July 11, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After dominating his former friend Enzo Amore in their one-on-one match at Great Balls of Fire, RAW kicks off with the seven-footer from Queens, Big Cass. Cass says that, after what he did to Enzo last night, he could not feel “any better”. After recounting his dominance of Enzo at Great Balls of Fire, Cass says to take what he did to Enzo as a lesson to everyone in the back. Cass then tells the fans to not even “hop on the bandwagon” before saying that he’s the “future of WWE”, addressing everyone who has ever “doubted” him by vowing that he is going to be the Universal Champion someday. Cass continues, vowing to main event WrestleMania and represent WWE “to the fullest” before saying that “nobody” is on his level and “nobody is bigger” than Big Cass. However, this would bring out someone, perhaps the only one, who can go toe-to-toe with Big Cass in the size department and that is “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show! Big Show and Big Cass then go face-to-face before Big Show headbutts Cass and takes Cass down. Big Show then drills Cass with knees in the corner before Big Cass escapes the ring, having been humbled by the legendary giant. The opening match of RAW would be the culmination of a weeks-long feud as “The Demon King” Finn Balor would go one-on-one with Elias Samson. Despite Elias Samson targeting the surgically repaired shoulder of Finn Balor, Finn was able to battle back and ultimately hit the Coup de Grace, pinning Samson to pick up the win. After coming up short in a grueling 30-Minute Iron Man Match for the RAW Tag Team Titles against Cesaro & Sheamus at Great Balls of Fire, The Hardy Boyz would be showing the wounds of their war with Cesaro & Sheamus as Matt & Jeff address the fans on RAW. Jeff Hardy says that they came up “one second short” in their quest to reclaim the RAW Tag Team Titles, admitting they failed to win the titles. Jeff then says that they know what the other tag teams in the back are thinking, that The Hardy Boyz are “done” and the “nostalgia pop has passed” and maybe they should just “fade away and classify ourselves as obsolete”. Matt Hardy then says that they came out there to make a “proclamation” before saying that The Hardy Boyz are “not going anywhere” and they have only begun to “make magic” in WWE. Gallows & Anderson then interrupt as Luke Gallows says that it wasn’t other tag teams saying that The Hardy Boyz were “done”, it was them. Karl Anderson then says that Matt & Jeff are not the “Hardy Boyz of old”, they’re just the “old Hardy Boyz”. Gallows then says that The Hardy Boyz should get out of the ring and practice their magic elsewhere because they are the “magic killers”. Matt responds by saying that, while they are a little “stitched up” and somewhat “broken”, they are more than willing to fight Gallows & Anderson right now! In an impromptu tag team match, The Hardy Boyz would try and bounce back from their loss at Great Balls of Fire when they faced Gallows & Anderson. In the end, it was Gallows & Anderson hitting Matt Hardy with the Magic Killer and, despite Jeff Hardy trying to break up the pin, he was just a second too late as Luke Gallows pins Matt to pick up the upset win over The Hardy Boyz. After the match, things would go from bad to worse for The Hardy Boyz as The Revival would make their return to RAW with their sights set on Matt & Jeff. Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson would hit the ring to prey on the beaten down and unsuspecting Hardy Boyz with Dawson holding Matt as Dash comes off of the second rope with a vicious knee to the head of Matt before picking up Jeff and delivering the Shatter Machine! Having made their statement, The Revival would celebrate making their return at the expense of The Hardy Boyz. After The Miztourage provided a major assist in his retention of the Intercontinental Championship against Dean Ambrose at Great Balls of Fire, Intercontinental Champion The Miz would be joined in the ring by his wife Maryse and the Miztourage of Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel for Miz TV as The Miz would introduce his own award show, The Mizzies. The Miz says that his award show is the only way to tell the “real winners from the real losers” at Great Balls of Fire. The Intercontinental Champion then presents the award, giving the award for “Best Supporting Actor” to both Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel. Bo Dallas then thanks The Miz for the award, saying that The Miz not only changed his career but Miz changed his “life”. Curtis Axel tells The Miz that he looks and feels like a “million bucks” and, thanks to The Miz, he’s going to make a “million bucks”. The Miz then says that Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel were “underutilized” before and now they are “award-winning Superstars”. The Miz continues, saying that the next Mizzy goes to his wife Maryse for “most beautiful, gorgeous, sexy leading lady”. Maryse says that, if it wasn’t for The Miz, she wouldn’t have been able to accomplish all of this. The Miz then says that it’s time for the final Mizzy award before opening the envelope to reveal the “greatest man in WWE”. However, the Intercontinental Champion is surprised to read Dean Ambrose’s name in the envelope before saying that he’s “just kidding”, revealing that he wins the award. The Miz then says that he will “always be the greatest man in WWE” before saying that he has done everything that he said that he was going to do. The Miz then says that, while he defeated Dean Ambrose at Great Balls of Fire, there were four “frauds” who did not, calling The Hardy Boyz, Akira Tozawa, and Seth Rollins frauds for failing to win their respective matches at Great Balls of Fire. The Miz continues, saying that, when he speaks, he speaks the “truth” before admitting that Dean Ambrose is the “toughest competitor” before saying that, if Ambrose is the toughest competitor, then what does that make him. This brings out Dean Ambrose, who makes a beeline for the ring, taking down The Miz before The Miztourage gets involved. However, an old friend and old rival would make the save for “The Lunatic Fringe” as Seth Rollins rushes to the ring, helping Dean Ambrose take out The Miz and The Miztourage and even blasting Bo Dallas in the face with the award stand! This sends The Miz and The Miztourage into retreat as Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins stand tall together in the ring much like their old Shield days. Backstage, Dean Ambrose catches up with Seth Rollins and asks for an explanation. Seth says that he’s not going to let The Miz run his mouth about him with Dean firing back by sarcastically saying that Rollins has a “great reputation to protect”. Ambrose then says that he knows Seth Rollins and he doesn’t “trust” Rollins for what Seth did to him and Roman Reigns a couple of years ago. Dean then tells Seth that there’s not going to be any “Shield reunion” before telling Rollins to stay out of his business, saying that they can each fight their own battles on their own. Ambrose then storms off, leaving Rollins perplexed. After an intentional count-out kept the RAW Women’s Title out of her hands at Great Balls of Fire, “The Boss” Sasha Banks would team with Bayley to face RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax in a tag team rematch from last week. During the match, Nia Jax would send Sasha Banks to the outside before Nia would charge at Sasha, but Banks would move out of the way as Nia collides with the barricade. Meanwhile, in the ring, Bayley would surprise Alexa Bliss with a roll-up, pinning the RAW Women’s Champion to pick up the win for her team. In the ongoing and unusual rivalry between R-Truth and Goldust, the former tag team partners would go one-on-one on RAW. Throughout the match, Goldust would withstand everything R-Truth could throw at him before “The Bizarre One” would hit the Final Cut, pinning R-Truth to pick up the win. RAW General Manager Kurt Angle would then make his way to the ring, saying that Great Balls of Fire was a hugely successful event and he can’t wait for next year’s pay-per-view. The GM then provides an update on Braun Strowman following Great Balls of Fire, saying that Braun has refused medical attention and he’s not sure if or when Strowman will return. Kurt then says that “the show must go on” before introducing an old rival of the RAW General Manager as, after narrowly escaping as the Universal Champion in his match against Samoa Joe at Great Balls of Fire, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar would make his way to the ring with Brock’s advocate Paul Heyman in tow. Kurt says that Brock gets “better and better” every single year, offering his congratulations to Brock Lesnar on a successful title defense. The GM then says that he thought that Lesnar & Heyman would be interested to find out who he thinks should challenge Brock for the Universal Title at SummerSlam. Brock and his advocate laugh at this as Heyman says that he and Brock did not come out there expecting a “creative meeting” heading into SummerSlam , saying that they don’t just volunteer their “brainstorming” for free in public. Heyman continues, saying that they will leave Angle to his “personal problems” and his “corporate decisions” before wishing the GM a “pleasant good evening”. Lesnar & Heyman then start to leave the ring before they are halted by the arrival of Roman Reigns. Making good on his promise to challenge the Universal Champion to a title match at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns would make his way to the ring to confront Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Kurt Angle tells Reigns that he’s got a lot of nerve coming out there after what he pulled at Great Balls of Fire. Roman appears perplexed by this, saying that he’s standing in the ring with Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and Paul Heyman, saying that they were a part of the Attitude Era where they blew everything up. The GM says that was then and this is now before Reigns says that Kurt should “thank” him since Angle didn’t know how to “handle” Braun Strowman and Brock is never around to! This puts a smile on the face of the Universal Champion as Kurt does what he can to keep Lesnar and Reigns apart as Roman says that, the way he sees it, Kurt owes him one and that “one” should be putting him in a match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Heyman comments that he likes the sound of that match before Brock takes the microphone from his advocate to address Roman Reigns himself. Lesnar tells Reigns that he doesn’t “deserve” a shot at the Universal Title, saying that right now is as close as Roman is going to get to the Universal Title. Things then get even more intriguing with the arrival of Samoa Joe as Joe says that he’s there to take them back to “reality”. Brock Lesnar then chimes, saying that the “reality” is that he kicked Joe’s ass! Joe then gets in the face of the Universal Champion, saying that, sooner or later, he’s putting Brock’s ass to “sleep”! Joe then says that Brock “escaped” him at Great Balls of Fire before turning his attention to Roman Reigns, saying that Roman has “never” beaten him. Paul Heyman then says that, in his opinion, since Roman Reigns defeated and possibly retired The Undertaker at WrestleMania, that’s a claim for a Universal Title opportunity. Heyman then says that Samoa Joe is the “excommunicated Samoan” who was taken down with an F-5 by Brock Lesnar, saying that Samoa Joe will “never see Brock Lesnar in a title match again”! Talking straight to Brock, Joe says that Heyman knows Lesnar better than anyone before a short-tempered Lesnar gets in the face of Samoa Joe, necessitating Kurt Angle getting in between the two. Joe continues, saying that Brock needs to listen to his advocate because Paul Heyman is trying to “protect” Brock from him, telling the Universal Champion to look at him when he’s talking. Joe then says that Heyman knows that he’s the one that has Brock’s “number” and this amuses Roman Reigns, who says that, if Joe has Brock’s number, then what happened last night? With Kurt Angle struggling to keep control, Samoa Joe says that Reigns is talking pretty tough for a man who got beat up by Braun Strowman last night. Roman retorts that Joe should look at Strowman, if Joe can find him. Kurt then says that he’s got an idea, announcing that, on next week’s RAW, Roman Reigns will go one-on-one with Samoa Joe with the winner earning the right to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam! The GM then says that, if they start fighting right now, then he will cancel the match, telling them to put their focus on SummerSlam instead of each other. The GM is then able to use this to keep Reigns and Joe from sending the show into chaos as Samoa Joe leaves the ring as Roman stares down Brock Lesnar as “The Beast” has a big smile on his face in anticipation of his next big fight at SummerSlam. Backstage, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle is confronted in his office by Corey Graves who both just received the same text message from an unknown source. A visibly worried Kurt Angle says that, when he “goes public” with this next week, he may be “saying goodbye” at the same time! Corey says that Kurt is beloved by so many people and respected by everyone, saying that he has “all the confidence in the world” that everything is going to be “just fine”. Corey then leaves the office as Kurt looks to be on the verge of tears. After coming up short against Neville in their Cruiserweight Title match on the Great Balls of Fire Kickoff, Akira Tozawa, with Titus O’Neil in his corner, would team with Cedric Alexander to face the team of Cruiserweight Champion Neville and Noam Dar, with Alicia Fox in his corner. The match would come down to Akira Tozawa and Neville with Tozawa getting a measure of revenge against the Cruiserweight Champion by racking Neville up on the top rope before hitting his top rope senton, pinning Neville to pick up the win for his team. Then it was time for the main event as, after Bray Wyatt used a thumb to the eye followed by Sister Abigail to defeat Seth Rollins at Great Balls of Fire, the rematch would take place on RAW as “The Kingslayer” Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt. Throughout the match, Seth Rollins would work over the hand of Bray Wyatt and “The Kingslayer” seemed to have control of the match until Bray catches Seth with a headbutt to the injured eye. This would allow Bray to follow up with Sister Abigail, pinning Seth Rollins for the second night in a row to pick up the win. After the match, Bray Wyatt would kneel next to Seth Rollins before “The Eater of Worlds” disappears from the ring. With Seth Rollins vulnerable, The Miz and The Miztourage would come in through the crowd, surrounding the ring in very similar fashion to how The Shield used to. Then, much like The Shield, The Miz and The Miztourage would swarm the ring, administering a three-on-one beatdown of Seth Rollins. However, this time it would be Dean Ambrose making the save as “The Lunatic Fringe” would rush to the ring with a steel chair. Ambrose would take out Bo Dallas with a pair of chair shots that sends Curtis Axel running from the ring and The Miz would try to cheap shot Ambrose, but Dean would catch The Miz, wearing the Intercontinental Champion out with repeated chair shots until Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel are able to pull The Miz out of the ring! Ambrose then stands tall in the ring as The Miz & The Miztourage regroups with Rollins looking at Ambrose with uncertainty. Backstage, Kurt Angle is on the phone with his wife, telling Mrs. Angle that she should come to RAW next week so they can “tell the whole world together”. Kurt then says that “whatever happens, happens” before saying “I love you” and hanging up. This leaves the GM looking extremely nervous about whatever life-changing revelation he and his wife are going to make next week. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
