WWE RAW Results: June 5, 2017By Cassidy| June 6, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After being one of the four Superstars who came up short in the #1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way Extreme Rules Match at Extreme Rules one night earlier, RAW kicks off with “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt. Bray says that he had a chance to slay the beast and save them all from “damnation”, saying they took his sword away and thrust it into his heart. Bray then says that he is “still alive” and he is still as much of a god as he has ever been and he is there to “cast judgment” on those he deems to be “guilty”. Wyatt then states that Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns are all “guilty” before saying that, one-by-one, they must all be “punished” and he is going to start tonight with Roman Reigns. Bray’s sermon is then interrupted by his opponent as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring. With Roman ready for a fight, Bray laughs at Reigns before Roman snatches the microphone out of Bray’s hand. Reigns asks Bray if he knows what happens when you run your mouth in his “yard” before catching Wyatt with a right hand, sending Bray out of the ring. Looking to bounce back after failing to become the #1 Contender for the Universal Title at Extreme Rules, the opening match of the night would see “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns square off with “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt. During the match, Bray Wyatt would nearly put Roman Reigns away with a big slam before delivering a splash to Reigns in the corner. The two then go blow-for-blow on the top rope before Reigns plants Bray with a sitout powerbomb, nearly defeating “The Eater of Worlds”. Roman then connects with the Superman Punch, but Bray is able to kick out again. “The Big Dog” then sizes Bray up for the Spear, but Wyatt is quick to roll out of the ring with Roman following Bray and catching Wyatt with the Drive-By with Bray rebounding with a stiff clothesline, leaving both men down on the outside. Both Superstars are able to get back into the ring at the last possible second to avoid getting counted out. Reigns then avoids Sister Abigail before connecting with the Superman Punch again, following up with the Spear, finally pinning Bray Wyatt to pick up the win. After losing the Intercontinental Championship to The Miz at Extreme Rules under dubious circumstances, a fired-up Dean Ambrose would interrupt a performance by Elias Samson, brawling with Samson to the outside and sending “The Drifter” over the barricade. After taking care of Elias Samson, “The Lunatic Fringe” would demand that The Miz come out there so they can have their rematch for the Intercontinental Championship. However, the new Intercontinental Champion appears on the Tron, saying that there will be no rematch tonight because he’s busy preparing for the kickoff celebration of his Intercontinental Championship Comeback Tour. With Ambrose’s attention on the Tron, Elias Samson would strike as “The Drifter” would take Ambrose out with his swinging neckbreaker. Backstage, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle confronts Dean Ambrose as “The Lunatic Fringe” asks the GM where The Miz’s locker room is at. However, Kurt tells Ambrose to calm down before saying that Ambrose will get his rematch another night, giving “The Lunatic Fringe” the night off, much to the chagrin of Dean Ambrose. After emerging from the #1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way Extreme Rules Match victorious with a one-on-one showdown with Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WWE Great Balls of Fire next month, the new #1 Contender for the Universal Championship, Samoa Joe, would make an appearance on RAW. Samoa Joe says that what they see before them is a man that “does not fear” Brock Lesnar, saying that he is “envious of” Lesnar. Joe then says that he wants everything that Brock has and he wants to take it away from “The Beast”. The #1 Contender continues, saying he wants Brock’s “gilded schedule” as Lesnar gets to come and go as he pleases before saying that he wants Paul Heyman to be his advocate and to run his “errands”. Joe then says that, most of all, he wants Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship, vowing that he is going to take the Universal Title away from Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire. Samoa Joe is then interrupted by Brock Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, as Heyman does his signature introduction before saying that Samoa Joe earned his opportunity to challenge for the Universal Title. Now in the ring, Heyman says that Brock Lesnar does not fear Samoa Joe either before saying that Joe likes that Brock doesn’t fear him. The advocate then says that he “worries for a living” but Brock erases those worries before saying that Samoa Joe is the “worst case scenario”. Heyman explains that Samoa Joe is willing to go to “war” with Brock Lesnar, saying that, even if Brock beats Joe, Joe is going to “take a piece” of Brock Lesnar with him. Heyman then says that it’s his job to make sure that, at Great Balls of Fire, Brock Lesnar is Samoa Joe’s “worst case scenario”. The advocate then says that, if Joe wants Lesnar, then Joe will get Lesnar before shaking the hand of the #1 Contender. Heyman then tries to leave the ring, but Joe does not allow this as Joe corners the advocate, saying, without a microphone, that he is very “disappointed” that Brock isn’t there in person before saying that he has something he wants to say to Paul Heyman. The #1 Contender then tells Heyman that something “bad” is about to happen to him right now, explaining the torture of the Coquina Clutch in slow detail to Heyman before saying that he wants the advocate to tell Brock Lesnar that what he is about to do is being done for Lesnar. Joe then tells Heyman to deliver the message to Brock Lesnar that what is about to happen to Heyman is what awaits Brock in the future. With that, the ruthless #1 Contender locks in the Coquina Clutch on Paul Heyman, screaming “you tell him this” as Joe chokes Heyman out. Referees then rush out to break it up as Joe relinquishes the hold on Paul Heyman before leaving the ring as referees check on the motionless advocate. Backstage, Samoa Joe is confronted by RAW General Manager Kurt Angle as the GM is furious over what Joe just did to Paul Heyman. Joe says that he will take out anyone who gets in the way of he and Brock Lesnar before asking if the GM is in his way. Seth Rollins then breaks it up, saying that they have unfinished business before saying that he’s beaten Samoa Joe once before and he would be happy to do it again. Kurt is then quick to make the match official, saying that Joe said that he would take out anyone that gets in his and Brock Lesnar’s way and this is a good opportunity for Joe to prove it. Joe then walks off, telling Seth Rollins “the mistakes we make”. One night after the Steel Cage Match for the RAW Tag Team Titles at Extreme Rules concluded with Cesaro & Sheamus dropping to the floor a mere moment before The Hardy Boyz to win the RAW Tag Team Titles, the brand new RAW Tag Team Champions were in action on RAW as Cesaro & Sheamus would face Heath Slater & Rhyno in a non-title match. With Cesaro keeping Rhyno at bay on the outside, it was Sheamus catching Heath Slater with the Brogue Kick, pinning Heath to pick up the win for the champions. After the match, Sheamus says that he’s sure that The Hardy Boyz are sitting at home, dreaming of their rematch. Cesaro then says that The Hardy Boyz picked the match that they thought they would have the advantage in at Extreme Rules but that was not the case before the RAW Tag Team Champions proclaim that they don’t “raise the bar”, they “are the bar”. The Cruiserweights were in action as Neville’s running buddy, TJP, would go one-on-one with Mustafa Ali on RAW. In the end, it was TJP putting Mustafa Ali down with the Detonation Kick, pinning Ali for the win. After the match, Cruiserweight Champion Neville would confront TJP on the stage regarding his vow to talk to Kurt Angle about TJP facing him for the title if TJP was able to win his match. Neville would tell TJP that he’s not a “miracle worker”, saying that he’s got some “unfortunate news” for TJP. TJP then says that they are going to go back and talk to Kurt Angle. However, when TJP turns his back, Neville attacks his recent ally, bouncing TJP face-first off of the stage before screaming at TJP that he will get his shot at the Cruiserweight Title on 205 Live tomorrow night. Backstage, Kurt Angle is questioned about his conversation with Corey Graves with the GM saying that it’s a “private matter” before Kurt leaves the arena without looking up from his phone. However, unbeknownst to Kurt, Dean Ambrose was waiting as “The Lunatic Fringe” sneaks back into the arena. After Titus O’Neil inadvertently cost Apollo Crews his match against Kalisto on the Extreme Rules Kickoff, Titus O’Neil would face Kalisto on RAW. Much like last week, Titus O’Neil would try to use the tights for the illegal advantage, but Kalisto would counter, rolling Titus up and grabbing the tights, scoring the three-count for the win. Backstage, The Miz & Maryse are on their way through the backstage area when they spot Big Cass laid out under some debris. Enzo Amore and a referee rush over to check on the big man with Enzo questioning Big Cass and the referee on if they saw anyone. While Big Cass doesn’t respond, Cass does hand a chain over to Enzo. As referees help Big Cass up, Enzo says that whoever attacked him left the same chain behind. Complete with champagne, balloons, and a bear holding up a “Congratulations” sign, it was time for The Miz’s championship celebration as, after beating Dean Ambrose under dubious circumstances to claim his seventh Intercontinental Championship, Maryse would be on hand to introduce her husband, the brand new Intercontinental Champion The Miz. The new champion proclaims that they are kicking off his Intercontinental Championship Comeback Tour before saying that he continued his destiny to restore the Intercontinental Championship to the heights that it once knew. The Miz & Maryse then grab a glass of champagne before The Miz offers a toast, saying that there will never be a time where he is not the Intercontinental Champion before toasting Maryse for organizing the lavish celebration. The Miz points out the dancing bear, saying that Maryse is a “genius” for getting a dancing bear. However, Maryse says that she didn’t get the bear and The Miz responds by saying that he didn’t get the bear either. It then dawns on the “it couple” that the bear was an uninvited guest by the name of Dean Ambrose as The Miz is quick to attack the bear and plant the bear with the Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz then pulls off the bear head to reveal that the bear was not Dean Ambrose after all! After tossing the man in the bear suit out of the ring, The Miz spots a large present being wheeled down to ringside. This time expecting Dean Ambrose to be inside the box, The Miz would grab a steel chair before wailing away at the box with the steel chair and even tackling the box. Maryse then hysterically screams at her husband to stop destroying the gift that she worked so hard on as the Intercontinental Champion drops elbows on the gift. The Miz then pulls part of a smashed grandfather clock out of the box before saying Maryse says that she got Miz the gift because he’s “timeless”. Maryse then storms to the back as The Miz goes on a tirade, telling Dean Ambrose to show himself. However, as The Miz goes on his tirade, a familiar-looking cameraman enters the ring behind The Miz and, while Miz spots the cameraman putting his camera down on the Tron, it would be too late as Dean Ambrose attacks the new Intercontinental Champion, spiking The Miz with Dirty Deeds before partaking in some of The Miz’s champagne. With his partner, Big Cass, taken out by an unknown assailant, it looked as though Enzo Amore would have to go it alone against Gallows & Anderson on RAW. However, before the match, Enzo reveals that he “called in a favor” to get himself a tag team partner before revealing that his replacement partner for the night is none other than “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show! In the end, it was Big Show planting Karl Anderson with the chokeslam before tagging in Enzo, hitting their own version of the Bada Boom Shakalaka as Enzo pins Anderson for the win with his formidable replacement partner. After beating Bayley in a Kendo Stick on a Pole Match to retain the RAW Women’s Title at Extreme Rules, Alexa Bliss would have a tall task ahead of her on RAW as the self-proclaimed “Goddess of WWE” would defend the RAW Women’s Championship against the dominant Nia Jax. After a failed attempt to recruit Mickie James and Dana Brooke earlier in the night to help her against Nia Jax, Mickie and Dana would make their way to ringside during the title match. During the match, Nia Jax would toss Alexa Bliss out of the ring and the champion would try to crawl to her feet, only to find herself face-to-face with Mickie James and Dana Brooke. This is when Alexa would spot the opportunity to escape with her title as the champion would shove Dana and Mickie with Mickie and Dana fighting back against Alexa, resulting in Bliss getting the win by disqualification. However, a much worse fate would appear to befall Alexa after the match as Nia Jax would catch up to the RAW Women’s Champion on the outside, tossing Mickie James and Dana Brooke to the side before rolling Alexa into the ring. Nia then shoves Mickie and Dana into the barricade, giving Alexa the opening to deliver a dropkick to Nia. As an angry Nia gets back into the ring, Alexa Bliss makes a quick exit from the ring. Nia Jax then takes out her frustrations on Mickie James and Dana Brooke, squashing Mickie with a splash in the corner before planting Dana with a Samoan Drop. Nia then storms out of the ring, enraged over Alexa ducking her. Then it was time for the main event as a rivalry would be renewed as “The Kingslayer” Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with the #1 Contender for the Universal Championship, Samoa Joe. During the match, Seth Rollins looked to be closing in on a big victory, but this is when Bray Wyatt’s Tron would seemingly signify the appearance of “The Eater of Worlds” but Bray was nowhere to be found. However, the threat of Bray Wyatt would distract Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe would take advantage of the distraction, trapping Rollins in the Coquina Clutch and, despite Seth’s best efforts, Joe would choke Rollins out as the #1 Contender picks up the win, thanks in part to Bray Wyatt. After the match, Samoa Joe would glare at Seth Rollins and smile about his handiwork, having established himself as a legitimate threat to Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship.
