WWE RAW Results: June 26, 2017By Cassidy| June 27, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results Less than two weeks before he faces “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman in an Ambulance Match at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view, RAW kicks off with “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns. Through boos and chats of “We Want Strowman”, Roman says that Samoa Joe put him out with the Coquina Clutch last week before saying that Braun Strowman came out and “picked the bones”. Reigns then says that he’s never been in an Ambulance Match before but he vows to throw Braun in the back of the ambulance, close the doors, and drive Strowman “straight to hell”. Roman continues, saying “this is my yard” before he is interrupted by the sound of sirens as an ambulance backs into the arena. Roman exits the ring before cautiously approaching the ambulance, opening the doors to find no one inside. This is when Braun Strowman would ambush Reigns, tossing Roman on the stage. “The Big Dog” then goes for the Superman Punch but Braun catches Reigns, hurling Roman off of the stage into the side of the ambulance! Strowman then tosses Reigns into the back of the ambulance and closing both of the doors in symbolic fashion, showing the fate that could very well await Reigns at Great Balls of Fire. The opening match of the night would see rivals clash in a unique 6-Man Tag Match as “The Demon King” Finn Balor would team with The Hardy Boyz to face Elias Samson and RAW Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus. In the end, it was The Hardy Boyz taking out Sheamus and Elias Samson on the outside as, in the ring, Finn Balor hits the Coup de Grace on Cesaro, pinning Cesaro to pick up the win for his team. For the first time since betraying his now former tag team partner R-Truth several weeks ago, RAW would see the return of the old school Goldust as, with his own personal cameraman, “The Bizarre One” would go one-on-one with R-Truth. However, before the match begins, Goldust would put his cameraman in between him and R-Truth before cheap-shotting his former tag team partner, dragging R-Truth to the corner and blasting Truth with right hands before pulling R-Truth into the ring post. Goldust then taunts R-Truth before leaving the ring with his personal cameraman filming the entire thing. Backstage, Paul Heyman is being interviewed about his client Brock Lesnar’s upcoming appearance on RAW when the advocate is grabbed by Samoa Joe! Joe feigns putting Heyman in the Coquina Clutch like he did a few weeks ago before saying that he’s not going to “waste” the Coquina Clutch on Heyman, instructing Heyman to tell Brock that he’s saving a Coquina Clutch for the Universal Champion. Intercontinental Champion The Miz and his wife Maryse would appear on RAW to host a special edition of Miz TV. The Miz then introduces his guests, the controversial and outspoken former NBA and NFL player turned owner of the Big Baller Brand LaVar Ball and his son, the young basketball prospect LaMelo Ball. The unique ex-player then brings out his pride and joy, the First Round Draft Pick for the Los Angeles Lakers, Lonzo Ball, as Lonzo rushes to the ring to join his father and brother. The Miz congratulates Lonzo before saying that everything LaVar Ball said would happen happened as his son is a Los Angeles Laker. The Intercontinental Champion then says that LaVar Ball is there to announce a partnership with his “favorite WWE Superstar” before LaVar says that The Miz is a little bit “too low” for the Big Baller Brand right now. The Miz says that he’s a proven champion before arguing with LaVar as LaVar says that there’s only two men better than himself and he’s both of them. The Miz then calls himself the “Michael Jordan of WWE” before LaVar tells The Miz to “stay in your lane”. Just as the most unusual fight in the history of Miz TV is about to break out, Dean Ambrose interrupts, coming out to the stage wearing a Big Baller Brand shirt. Ambrose then says that the Big Baller Brand wanted someone to represent them heading into the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view and nobody has “bigger balls” than he does. Following one of the most awkward Miz TV segments of all-time, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would team with Heath Slater & Rhyno to face Intercontinental Champion The Miz and his new “Miztourage” of Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel, with Maryse in their corner, in a 6-Man Tag Match. During a wild match, it was Curtis Axel cheap-shotting Rhyno and it would give Bo Dallas the opening to roll Rhyno up, picking up the win for The Miz & The Miztourage. After last week’s shocking reveal that, after weeks of speculation, it was Big Cass who attacked his longtime friend and tag partner Enzo Amore, Enzo Amore would make an appearance on RAW to address Big Cass’ betrayal. Enzo says that he’s been trying to get a hold of Big Cass all week to no avail before Enzo calls out Big Cass. Cass comes out to confront the man he betrayed last week as Enzo says that Cass was right about a lot of the things Cass said last week. Enzo admits that he tends to bite off more than he can chew before saying that Big Cass is his “brother” and that is a bond that he refuses to let Big Cass break. Enzo continues, saying that their “journey” isn’t nearly over before saying that he saw “emotion” in Big Cass’ face last week and the last time he saw that was when he got knocked out. Enzo then says that he refuses to break his bond with Big Cass before they become RAW Tag Team Champions. Big Cass tells Enzo that Enzo never knows when to shut up before saying that he never felt more “ashamed” than he was last week. Cass then says that Enzo isn’t going to change him and he’s not going to change Enzo before saying that they are “brothers” before telling Enzo, “I’m sorry”, asking for Enzo to accept his apology. Cass then extends his hand with Enzo hesitating before shaking hands with Big Cass before the two “brothers” hug it out in the middle of the ring. Big Cass then declares that, if anyone thought that what happened last week was going to ruin a “lifetime of friendship”, then there’s only one word to describe them, “s-a-w-f-t, sawft!” Enzo & Big Cass then leave the ring together, seemingly reunited, but when they get to the stage, Cass levels Enzo with a clothesline before lifting Enzo over his head and tossing Enzo down the ramp! Referees then rush out to check on Enzo as Cass walks to the back. Moments after again betraying Enzo Amore, Big Cass would walk out to the commentary position to confront the man who ousted him as Enzo’s attacker last week, Corey Graves. Cass tells Corey that he would love to snap Corey’s “pencil neck” but RAW General Manager Kurt Angle says that he cannot lay a hand on the commentator, saying that he doesn’t know what dirt Corey has on the GM but it must be good. Big Cass then tells Corey to “stay out of my business” before Cass heads to the back, leaving Corey Graves visibly shaken. The WWE 2K18 cover Superstar was then in action on RAW as “The Kingslayer” Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with Curt Hawkins. In the end, it was Seth Rollins connecting with the Rainmaker Knee, pinning Curt Hawkins for the win. After the match, Bray Wyatt would appear on the Tron, telling Seth Rollins that Seth blindly leads the fans to a place to which there is “no return”. Bray then says that he is going to “save” Rollins, saying that Seth is going to be “cleansed” by a “true god” before saying that he is inside Seth’s mind because he is “everywhere”. Wyatt then challenges Seth Rollins to face him at Great Balls of Fire, telling Seth to give in to his “true self” or he will “burn”. Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman then appears in the ring as Heyman says that Samoa Joe does not fear Brock Lesnar before saying that Joe got a “cheap shot” in on Lesnar two weeks ago. Heyman then says that Samoa Joe remains “fearless” in the face of Brock Lesnar before calling Samoa Joe a “Samoan dumbass”, saying it takes a smart man to “fear” Brock Lesnar. The advocate then says that he is there to introduce to them to the man who will call Samoa Joe out to the ring for a “fight” here tonight, introducing Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. However, once “The Beast” comes out to the stage, Brock is ambushed by Samoa Joe as “The Destroyer” tries his best to lock in the Coquina Clutch on the Universal Champion, finally locking Brock in the submission! However, Brock is able to break free of the Coquina Clutch before sending Joe into the LED screen on the stage. Lesnar then sends Joe into the screen again before Joe is able to catch “The Beast” with a couple of knees to the mid-section before again locking in the Coquina Clutch! The #1 Contender is nearly able to choke Lesnar out before The Revival and Karl Anderson come out to pull Samoa Joe off of the Universal Champion. Referees then check on “The Beast” as Brock Lesnar pulls himself to his feet after barely surviving the Coquina Clutch. With Titus O’Neil’s potential client Akira Tozawa in a special VIP area at ringside, the Cruiserweights were in action on RAW as Cruiserweight Champion Neville would go one-on-one with Lince Dorado in a non-title match. In the end, it was Neville locking in the Rings of Saturn on Lince Dorado, making the masked man tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Akira Tozawa would get into the ring to confront Neville before Titus O’Neil comes out, asking why they would fight for free when he just finalized a Cruiserweight Title match between them at Great Balls of Fire! Titus then says that they are going to find out if the “Neville level” has anything on the “powa of Tozawa”. Then it was time for the multi-part main event as a new #1 Contender for the RAW Women’s Title would be determined in a Gauntlet Match as Bayley, Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Dana Brooke, Emma, and Nia Jax in a match where two of them would start the match and, when one Superstar is defeated, another Superstar will join the match. This trend would continue until there was only one competitor left and that Superstar would earn a shot at the RAW Women’s Title at Great Balls of Fire! The first portion of the Gauntlet Match would see former champion Bayley square off with the dominant Nia Jax. After ragdolling Bayley, Nia Jax would plant Bayley with a Samoan Drop, pinning Bayley to advance in the Gauntlet Match. After defeating Bayley to advance in the #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match, Nia Jax would face veteran Mickie James in the second portion of the Gauntlet Match. Despite Mickie James’ best efforts, Nia Jax would continue to dominate the RAW Women’s Division, this time using an avalanche splash to put Mickie away and advance to the third part of the Gauntlet Match. The third opponent for Nia Jax would be a Superstar who comes the closest to match Nia in the pure strength department as Dana Brooke tries her hand at taking Nia down. However, Nia Jax would make quick work of Dana, hitting a big leg drop and pinning Dana to advance. Emma would then come out to go one-on-one with Nia Jax, hanging Nia up on the top rope but that would not stop the behemoth as Nia would catch Emma in mid-air, dropping Emma with a Samoan Drop and pinning Emma to advance. Having defeated four RAW Superstars in succession, Nia Jax would then be faced with a familiar rival in “The Boss” Sasha Banks as the Gauntlet Match continues. Sasha would use her speed to offset the powerhouse Nia Jax, sending Nia into the ring post on the outside before diving off of the ring apron with the double knees to Nia. However, Nia Jax would repeatedly regain the advantage in the match, squashing every attempt at a comeback that Sasha gets. After ragdolling Sasha Banks for most of the match, Nia Jax would lock in a bearhug on “The Boss” before slamming Sasha, but Banks would refuse to stay down. Sasha is then able to take Nia down with a knee to the face before trying to lock in the Bank Statement, but Nia would power out, hitting “The Boss” with a Samoan Drop. Sasha is able to roll under the bottom rope to avoid being pinned before Nia tries for a second Samoan Drop. Sasha then jumps on the back of Nia Jax, locking in a modified version of the Bank Statement on the behemoth, managing to do the unthinkable by making Nia Jax tap out as Sasha Banks becomes the new #1 Contender for the RAW Women’s Title with a match against Alexa Bliss for the title at Great Balls of Fire! After the grueling victory, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle would come out to the ring to personally raise the hand of the new #1 Contender, applauding “The Boss”. This brings out RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, who gets in the face of Sasha Banks and raises the RAW Women’s Title high. Sasha responds to this by taking Alexa down with a dropkick before symbolically holding up the title herself, letting Alexa Bliss know that her time as champion may very well be up come Great Balls of Fire.
