WWE RAW Results: May 15, 2017By Cassidy| May 16, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with the man in charge on Monday nights as RAW General Manager Kurt Angle opens the show. The GM says that, last week, Roman Reigns “settled the score” with Braun Strowman when Roman viciously assaulted “The Monster Among Men”, forcing Braun into retreat. Angle then reveals that, as a result of the attack, Braun Strowman suffered a shattered elbow that required surgery, leaving “The Monster Among Men” out of action for up to six months. The GM continues, saying that Braun Strowman had his sights set on facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, but now that Strowman is out of action, who will challenge Brock for the Universal Title? Angle then says that the #1 Contender’s spot for the Universal Title should not be given, it should be “earned” before the GM announces that, at Extreme Rules on June 4, there will be the first ever Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Match with the winner facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship! The GM then reveals the five Superstars competing for the #1 Contendership at Extreme Rules as “The Architect” Seth Rollins, “The Destroyer” Samoa Joe, “The Demon King” Finn Balor, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt, and “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns will all compete with the first man to score a pinfall or submission earning a match against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship! The GM then concludes by saying that the Fatal 5-Way Match is going to be “historical” and it’s going to be “extreme”. Kurt Angle’s exit from the ring is then interrupted by the arrival of the man who put Braun Strowman on the shelf last week, Roman Reigns. Roman tells the GM that they don’t need to have a Fatal 5-Way Match because he’s the #1 Contender, saying that this is his “yard”, reminding Kurt that he defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Reigns then says that he’s the only guy around here that can beat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. One man who takes exception to this is Finn Balor, who tells Roman Reigns that he was the first Universal Champion and he never lost the title. Now in the ring, Finn tells Roman that, if Reigns wants a “piece” of Brock Lesnar, the line starts behind him. Roman says that Balor has a lot of “heart”, but he doesn’t have the “killer instinct” to beat Brock Lesnar. Balor reminds Reigns that, on his first night on RAW, he defeated Roman before Samoa Joe joins the conversation. Joe says that this is about two things and that is “actions” and “results”, saying that the action of entering the Fatal 5-Way Match results in him winning the Fatal 5-Way. Joe is then interrupted by the arrival of Bray Wyatt as “The Eater of Worlds” appears in the ring, saying that he can feel them all trembling, saying they will “cower” and they will “run”. Bray is then interrupted by Seth Rollins, who says that New Jersey came here for “fighting” before saying that he came here to fight Samoa Joe. Rollins then makes a beeline for Samoa Joe at ringside, sparking a brawl among the five men in and out of the ring. “The Architect” would drape the knee of Joe over the middle rope before Bray Wyatt gets involved, taking Rollins down before Roman Reigns sends Bray to the outside with the Superman Punch! Wyatt and Rollins then continue their fight on the outside before Finn Balor jumps in with a dropkick to both men. Finn then enters the ring, dodging the Superman Punch from Roman Reigns and connecting with the Slingblade. “The Demon King” then takes flight, taking out Reigns and Rollins, leaving Finn Balor as the last man standing in the ring. Before they defend the RAW Tag Team Titles against Cesaro & Sheamus in less than three weeks at Extreme Rules, The Hardy Boyz were on RAW as Jeff Hardy, with Matt Hardy in his corner, would go one-on-one with the man who kicked his tooth out at Payback, Sheamus, with Cesaro in his corner. During the match, Cesaro would get on the ring apron and Matt Hardy would knock Cesaro off of the ring apron. Sheamus would then take Matt out with the Brogue Kick and Jeff Hardy would take advantage of the brief distraction, hitting Sheamus with the Twist of Fate and following it up with the Swanton Bomb, pinning Sheamus to pick up the win. In a rematch from last week, RAW would see “The Boss” Sasha Banks square off with Alicia Fox, with Noam Dar in her corner. During the match, Sasha Banks would hurt her leg on the ring apron and Alicia Fox was quick to take advantage, hitting Sasha with the Scissors Kick, pinning “The Boss” to pick up the upset victory. The Intercontinental Championship would then be defended on RAW as Dean Ambrose would put the prestigious championship on the line against the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz, with Maryse in his corner. During the hard-fought match, The Miz thought for sure he secured the Intercontinental Title after connecting with the Skull Crushing Finale, but Dean Ambrose would manage to kick out. Shortly after this, Maryse would get on the ring apron to distract the referee and The Miz would try to low blow Ambrose, but the champion would block the low blow before delivering a low blow of his own right in front of the referee and the referee has no choice but to call for the disqualification! Though outraged by the referee’s decision, Dean Ambrose would still walk out as the Intercontinental Champion. The RAW Women’s Champion would make an appearance on RAW as the self-proclaimed “Goddess” Alexa Bliss would make her way to the ring. After berating the fans in Newark, Alexa says that, when you’re “smarter” and “more dominant” than everyone else, being a winner is easy. The champion then says that she is the “rightful goddess of WWE” before Alexa is interrupted by the woman she defeated for the title at Payback, Bayley. Bayley says that the only title she’s concerned with is the RAW Women’s Championship, revealing that she is invoking her rematch clause at Extreme Rules to get her rematch for the RAW Women’s Title! Alexa responds by saying that Extreme Rules means doing whatever it takes, saying that Bayley will “never get extreme” before saying that Bayley had her moment. The champion then tells Bayley to leave the championships to the “adults”. Bayley would respond by shoving Alexa down with Bliss getting the better of Bayley before the champion grabs a kendo stick. With a sinister smile, Alexa Bliss then sizes up the former champion, delivering a vicious kendo stick shot to the back of Bayley, sending Bayley out of the ring writhing in pain. Alexa then stands tall with stick in hand, having went extreme on her Extreme Rules opponent. Backstage, The Miz would confront RAW General Manager Kurt Angle over Dean Ambrose getting himself disqualified in their Intercontinental Title match. The GM agrees with The Miz’s complaint and makes a rematch between Dean Ambrose and The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at Extreme Rules. However, this isn’t good enough for The Miz as Miz says that Ambrose will just get himself disqualified again so he wants a match where the title can change hands on a disqualification. Angle agrees to these terms but tells The Miz that he needs to watch his tone, sparking an argument in French between the GM and Maryse. The Cruiserweights were in action on RAW as Austin Aries would join forces with “Gentleman” Jack Gallagher to face Cruiserweight Champion Neville and his protégé TJP. In the end, it was TJP catching Jack Gallagher with the Detonation Kick, pinning Gallagher to pick up the win for himself and Neville. After finding out earlier in the night that they will be part of a Fatal 5-Way Match at Extreme Rules to determine the #1 Contender for the Universal Championship, RAW would see “The Demon King” Finn Balor go one-on-one with “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns. In the end, it was Roman Reigns avoiding the Coupe de Grace before connecting with the Spear, pinning Finn Balor to pick up the win. The Golden Truth were set for tag team action on RAW as Goldust & R-Truth were scheduled to face Gallows & Anderson. However, after making their way to the ring, Goldust would attack his tag team partner from behind before beating R-Truth down in the corner. Goldust then tosses R-Truth to the outside, stalking a stunned R-Truth before tossing Truth into the barricade and continuing to pummel his longtime ally. Goldust then brings R-Truth back into the ring, continuing the beatdown before telling R-Truth “that’s what’s up”. With the assumption that Apollo Crews was going to face Enzo Amore on RAW, Titus O’Neil was surprised to discover that he would be competing against Big Cass, meaning that Titus would have to compete in a suit and tie against Big Cass. During the match, Enzo Amore would get on the ring apron, distracting Titus O’Neil long enough for Big Cass to take advantage, blasting Titus with a big boot, pinning Titus for the win. After the match, Enzo Amore would try to take a selfie with the downed Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews would take exception to this, leveling Enzo with a kick to the head. Then it was time for the main event as, less than three weeks before they are a part of the Fatal 5-Way Match at Extreme Rules to determine a new #1 Contender for the Universal Championship, “The Kingslayer” Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt for the first time ever. During the match, Seth Rollins would dive to the outside onto Bray Wyatt and this is when Samoa Joe would strike, attacking Seth Rollins from behind before bringing Rollins into the ring. Joe then plants Rollins with the Head Rocker before an interesting face-off takes place between Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe. Wyatt and Joe then put the boots to Seth Rollins before Bray Wyatt grabs Samoa Joe and plants “The Destroyer” with Sister Abigail! “The Eater of Worlds” then sizes up Seth Rollins before planting Rollins with Sister Abigail as well. Bray Wyatt then kneels in the center of the ring, shouting “follow the buzzards” as Bray proves that there will be no alliances come the Fatal 5-Way at Extreme Rules.
