WWE RAW Results: April 24, 2017By Cassidy| April 25, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results Before he challenges SmackDown LIVE’s Kevin Owens for the United States Title this Sunday at Payback, RAW kicks off with “Y2J” Chris Jericho and his talk show segment, The Highlight Reel. Jericho says that he is going to beat his former best friend Kevin Owens and take back the United States Title at Payback and, per the stipulation of the match, he will then be heading to SmackDown LIVE. Jericho says that, since this will be the last Highlight Reel on RAW, he wanted to have a “huge guest” and that guest is him. Jericho continues, saying that Kevin Owens calls himself the “Face of America” before suggesting that Owens is the “Hemorrhoid of America”. However, The Highlight Reel is then interrupted by The Miz & Maryse, who make their way to the ring. The Miz tells Jericho that RAW is all about the “it couple” with Jericho telling The Miz that he had better “watch it”. The Miz then declares that The Highlight Reel has officially been “cancelled” and it will be replaced by Miz TV. The Miz then calls for the ring crew to transform the ring for Miz TV and the crew complies, changing the set from The Highlight Reel to Miz TV. Chris Jericho then has a seat before The Miz’s introduction to Miz TV is interrupted by Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, who crashes Miz TV. Ambrose says that he’s pretty sure that nobody wants to see an episode of Miz TV before saying that he’s a “problem solver”. The Intercontinental Champion then signals to the ring crew, who takes down the set for Miz TV and sets the ring up for the Ambrose Asylum! Ambrose tells Jericho that they’ve had their issues, reminding everyone of the history between he and Jericho with Jericho saying that Ambrose still owes him $15,000 for destroying his light-up jacket. Ambrose then gives Jericho a gift and Jericho opens the present to reveal a new light-up jacket! Though not as nice as his original jacket, Jericho appreciates the gift all the same and puts on the new jacket. The Miz comments that the jacket is the product of a “slacker”, saying that Dean Ambrose “devalues” the Intercontinental Championship. The Miz then says that the fans should be glad that he is out there to save them from the “mediocrity” that is Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho, saying that, if anyone deserves a gift, it’s him. Ambrose then says that he did bring a gift for The Miz before the Intercontinental Champion spikes The Miz with Dirty Deeds! Jericho then adds insult to injury by putting Maryse on the List of Jericho! Six nights before they defend the RAW Tag Team Titles against Cesaro & Sheamus at Payback, The Hardy Boyz were on RAW as Matt Hardy, with Jeff Hardy in his corner, would go one-on-one with Sheamus, with Cesaro in his corner. During the match, Sheamus would hit his rolling senton on the outside to Matt Hardy and, when Jeff Hardy would head over to check on his brother, Sheamus would shove Jeff aside before rolling Matt back into the ring. Jeff would take exception to this and would get on the ring apron, arguing with Sheamus before Cesaro pulls Jeff to the floor. However, the distraction would pay off as Matt Hardy would hit Sheamus with the Twist of Fate, pinning Sheamus for the win. After the match, Cesaro would get in the face of Jeff Hardy, blaming Jeff for Sheamus losing the match. Sheamus then gets to his face as Cesaro & Sheamus extend their hands for a handshake with The Hardy Boyz reluctantly accepting the handshake, leaving a lot of tension between the two teams ahead of their match at Payback. Backstage, The Miz & Maryse barge into the office of RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, demanding that the GM do something about Dean Ambrose interrupting Miz TV. Angle remedies this by putting The Miz and a partner of his choice in a match against Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho! Before he challenges Neville for the Cruiserweight Title this Sunday at Payback, “A Double” Austin Aries would team with “Gentleman” Jack Gallagher to face the team of Cruiserweight Champion Neville and his protégé T.J. Perkins. In the end, it was Austin Aries hitting T.J. Perkins with the Discus Fivearm, pinning Perkins to pick up the win for himself and Jack Gallagher. RAW would then be home to a unique matchup as the high-flying Kalisto would go one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman in the rarely seen Dumpster Match, where the first Superstar to put their opponent in a dumpster will win the match. Early on in the match, Kalisto would use his speed to offset his much larger opponent, but Braun Strowman would catch Kalisto, tossing the masked man across the ring. Kalisto would refuse to give up, however, as the high flyer nearly gets Strowman into the dumpster but the power proved too much for Kalisto as Braun tosses Kalisto back into the ring. Braun then tosses Kalisto to the ring apron before lifting Kalisto over his head, but Kalisto fights free before kicking the legs out from under Strowman as Braun lands in the dumpster, giving Kalisto a huge upset win over “The Monster Among Men”! The loss would enrage Braun Strowman as Braun repeatedly slams Kalisto, bringing the high flyer to the outside and tossing Kalisto into the barricade. Strowman then picks Kalisto up, tossing Kalisto in the dumpster and closing the lid. However, “The Monster Among Men” was not finished there as Braun pushes the dumpster up to the stage. Agents and referees then try to stop whatever it is that Strowman has planned but Braun would keep the officials at bay as he uses a ratchet strap to fasten the dumpster lid shut, trapping Kalisto in the dumpster. “The Monster Among Men” then gets a running start before shoving the dumpster off of the stage with Kalisto inside as the dumpster crashes to the concrete floor! Medical personnel then tend to Kalisto, pulling Kalisto out of the dumpster and loading him on a stretcher, putting Kalisto in an ambulance, sending the high flyer to a local medical facility. With his House of Horrors Match against Randy Orton coming up this Sunday at Payback, Bray Wyatt would appear on the Tron with a message for “The Viper”. Bray says that “pain and suffering” awaits Randy Orton in the House of Horrors where every step that Orton takes will be a “descent into madness”. Bray then says that the House of Horrors will be Orton’s “purgatory”, saying that the deepest, darkest “depths of hell” are waiting for Randy Orton. Bray continues, saying that he will be “reborn” and the House of Horrors waits for Orton, telling the WWE Champion to “follow the buzzards”. In Women’s Division action, RAW would see Dana Brooke go one-on-one with Alicia Fox. During the match, Dana Brooke’s former friend and mentor Emma would make her way to ringside. Despite the presence of Emma, Dana Brooke would still hit Alicia Fox with the Samoan Drive, pinning Alicia for the win. After the match, Emma would enter the ring and would actually hug her former protégé, which confuses Dana Brooke. With a match against Samoa Joe coming at Payback this Sunday, Seth Rollins was scheduled to team with Enzo & Big Cass to face the team of Samoa Joe and Gallows & Anderson in a 6-Man Tag Match. However, Samoa Joe and Gallows & Anderson would ambush Enzo & Big Cass before the match with Gallows & Anderson hitting Enzo with the Magic Killer on the floor. Seth Rollins then rushes out, doing his best to combat Samoa Joe and Gallows & Anderson with Big Cass joining the fray. Seth and Cass are able to get the better of the fight before they exit the ring to check on Enzo. With Enzo Amore unable to compete thanks to the attack moments earlier, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle would find a last minute replacement for Enzo in the match and that replacement would be Finn Balor as “The Demon King” would join forces with Seth Rollins and Big Cass to face the team of Samoa Joe and Gallows & Anderson in a 6-Man Tag Match! During the match, Seth Rollins would set Karl Anderson up for the Pedigree before deciding otherwise, unveiling a new move in his arsenal, twisting Anderson around before connecting with a high knee to the face, pinning Anderson to pick up the win for his team. Six nights before she challenges Bayley for the RAW Women’s Championship at Payback, Alexa Bliss would make an appearance on RAW to address the champion. Alexa says that some Superstars come out there and take about who they like and who they hate and some of them come out there to talk about how being champion is their dream. Alexa then says that she’s not out there to talk, she’s there to win and that’s what she’s going to do this Sunday at Payback. This brings out RAW Women’s Champion Bayley, who tells Alexa that, as long as she’s known Alexa, she’s opted to talk behind everyone’s back instead of saying it to their face. Bayley then says that she’s not just talk, saying that every female Superstar on RAW is gunning for her title and she will stop at nothing to leave her hometown as the champion. Bliss responds by saying that she gets to beat Bayley down and take her title all in front of Bayley’s father, calling Bayley a “pathetic, sheltered child”. Alexa continues to mock the champion, asking if Bayley has ever “kissed a boy” before saying that Bayley’s Cinderella story will come to an end this Sunday. This brings out Bayley’s best friend Sasha Banks, prompting Alexa Bliss to ask if Sasha packs Bayley’s lunches. “The Boss” then tells Alexa Bliss that the woman with the gold calls the shots, saying that Bayley is going to shut Alexa up at Payback, but she is out there to shut Bliss up right now. However, Alexa refuses to face Sasha, saying that she’s got a big match to prepare for, saying that she doesn’t feel “safe” being in the same ring with Sasha Banks. Sasha responds to this by clocking Alexa with a right hand before Alexa rolls out of the ring. Despite Alexa Bliss having no interest in facing Sasha Banks, the match would take place on RAW as “The Boss” Sasha Banks would go one-on-one with Alexa Bliss with RAW Women’s Champion Bayley a guest on commentary. During the match, Alexa Bliss would narrowly avoid the Bank Statement before opting to walk away from the match, taking a count-out loss to Sasha Banks. After the match, Bayley would grab Alexa Bliss to try and bring Alexa back to the ring, but Bliss would manage to escape the champion. However, as soon as Bayley turns her back, Alexa attacks the RAW Women’s Champion before Sasha rushes up the ramp, scaring Alexa to the back. Claiming to have made Big Show and Finn Balor into stars the last couple of weeks, Curt Hawkins would appear on RAW with an open challenge to anyone in the back to come out and join “Curt Hawkins’ star factory”. The man who would accept the challenge would be the talented new arrival to the RAW brand, Apollo Crews. In the end, it was Apollo Crews hitting the spinning sitout powerbomb, pinning Curt Hawkins to pick up the win. After the match, Titus O’Neil would come to the ring, raising the hand of Apollo Crews and taking a selfie with Apollo as Titus continues to try and recruit Apollo Crews. Then it was time for the main event as Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose would team up with “Y2J” Chris Jericho to face The Miz, with Maryse in his corner, and a tag team partner of his choosing. Before the match, The Miz would reveal his tag team partner as The Miz says that his tag partner has a “flair for the dramatics”, saying his tag partner is a “big star”. The Miz then says that Ambrose and Jericho are in “deep, deep trouble” before pointing to the stage for the arrival of his tag team partner. However, no one would come out and, as a result, The Miz would say that his tag team partner is a little late. The Miz then declares that the match is “cancelled” before he and Maryse leave the ring to go and check on his tag team partner. However, The Miz & Maryse are halted by Kurt Angle, who says that he told The Miz to find a tag team partner and, whether The Miz finds a tag partner or not, the match is starting right now! Per the order of RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, the main event would begin without The Miz’s tag team partner as The Miz would be forced to go it alone against both Dean Ambrose & Chris Jericho in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match! During the match, The Miz would try to escape, but Dean Ambrose would catch up with The Miz on the stage. The Intercontinental Champion then exposes the RAW announce table with the intent of putting The Miz through it. However, this is when the lights would go out and Bray Wyatt would appear on the announce table, standing face-to-face with Dean Ambrose! “The Eater of Worlds” knocks Dean Ambrose off of the announce table before grabbing Ambrose and hitting the Intercontinental Champion with Sister Abigail into the LED screen on the stage! Bray then glares at The Miz before Chris Jericho makes his way up to the stage, only to be blindsided by The Miz. Wyatt and The Miz then beat Chris Jericho down before bringing “Y2J” back to the ring, but Chris Jericho is able to catch The Miz with the Codebreaker before Bray grabs Jericho, hitting Jericho with Sister Abigail. The Miz then comes up and pats Bray on the back before “The Eater of Worlds” turns around and hits The Miz with Sister Abigail as well! Having laid waste to everyone in sight, Bray kneels next to The Miz with his arms outstretched, shouting “follow the buzzards”, sending a clear message to his Payback opponent Randy Orton.
