WWE RAW Results: March 20, 2017By Cassidy| March 21, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results One week after using the Mandible Claw on Triple H before suffering a low blow from Stephanie McMahon, RAW kicks off with RAW General Manager Mick Foley. The GM would make his way to the ring before pulling out a piece of paper, clearly reading a statement. Foley states that he stands before them all a “humbled man” before reading that he would like to “personally thank” Triple H & Stephanie McMahon for giving him the “opportunity of a lifetime”. The GM continues reading, saying that he put his job in jeopardy last week by sticking Mr. Socko down the throat of Triple H. Foley then reads that, with WrestleMania less than two weeks away, the last thing he wants is for his personal problems with Stephanie McMahon to get in the way of the biggest event of the year. Mick then states that, for “the good of WWE, the good of WrestleMania, and for the sake of his own personal sanity”, he is taking a leave of absence, “effective immediately”! With the fans clearly not in support of this decision, Mick Foley rips up the prepared statement, shouting that, after 31 years in the business, Triple H hands him a prepared statement ten minutes before he goes out to the ring, proclaiming that he’s “Mick freakin’ Foley”! Mick then repeatedly tries to continue, but his microphone gets cut off, trying to convey that there’s a lot more that he wanted to do. This brings out RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, who is barely audible through the boos from the crowd, as the Commissioner tells Foley that she gave him a “golden opportunity” to be the RAW General Manager and he thanks her by physically attacking her husband. Stephanie then says that she had to give Foley a prepared statement because he screws up everything he has to say, saying that Mick “can’t get it right”. The Commissioner continues, saying that it’s always been about Mick Foley and Mick being “liked”, saying that Foley doesn’t have what it takes to make the “tough decisions” so she is going to have to do it for him. Stephanie then says that there’s been something that she’s been wanting to say to Foley for a “long time” before getting in Mick’s face and, just like her dad used to do, screams “you’re fired” in the face of Foley! Stephanie then orders the now former General Manager to get out of the ring with Foley reluctantly complying. However, with Mick on the ring apron, Sami Zayn comes out, telling Stephanie that what she is doing to Mick Foley right now is “wrong”. Sami then gets on the ring apron, telling the Commissioner that she has been “wrong” about a lot of her decisions but no one has had the guts to say it to her face! Unfazed by what Sami had to say, Stephanie tells Zayn to help his “broken down old mentor” down the stairs and to the back so they can move on with the show. Foley then gets off of the apron, urging Sami Zayn to come with him, but Sami refuses as Zayn gets in the ring with a few words for the Commissioner. Sami tells Stephanie that Mick has showed more “class and integrity” in nine months as the General Manager than Stephanie has in her “whole life”! Sami then says that Stephanie wants to disgrace Foley’s legacy because Mick never became the “corporate yes man” that Stephanie wanted, telling the Commissioner that she should be “ashamed” of herself. Stephanie says that she wasn’t listening to a word that Sami had to say before saying that Sami is a talented competitor but Zayn isn’t on the level where he can come out there and question her integrity. The Commissioner then says that Sami is not on the level to speak to her at all, telling Zayn to go to the back and think about how he’s going to make this up to her. Sami then thinks it over before deciding to not leave the ring. Sami then says that the smart thing for him to do would be to leave right now and try to pretend like this whole thing never happened. Zayn then says that he’s not about doing the “smart thing”, he’s about doing the “right thing”. Sami then says that the right thing for him to do is to stay in the ring before Zayn is interrupted by “The Destroyer” and Triple H’s right hand man, Samoa Joe. Joe then has his sights set on the ring, but Stephanie keeps “The Destroyer” at bay, saying that she’s got this under control. Stephanie then tells Mick Foley to leave “once and for all” before saying that Sami’s mouth has gotten him into trouble as Sami will go one-on-one with Samoa Joe right now! Sami then dives over the top rope onto Samoa Joe prior to their match getting underway. Per the orders of RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, the opening match of the night would see Sami Zayn square off with “The Destroyer” Samoa Joe. Throughout the match, Sami Zayn would continue to fight back against his larger opponent, even scoring with his tornado DDT on the arena floor. However, “The Destroyer” would lock in the Coquina Clutch on Sami Zayn, making Sami tap out to pick up the win. Backstage, Sami Zayn tells Mick Foley that the RAW Superstars need Foley to stand up for them with Foley saying that it’s up to Sami and the other Superstars to carry the weight of RAW, saying that he will see Sami later, hugging Zayn. Sami then tells Mick that they say to never meet your heroes, but he is sincerely glad that he got to meet his hero. Mick then runs into a tag team that he was responsible for creating, Cesaro & Sheamus, as the former GM hugs both men before both Cesaro & Sheamus thank Foley for believing in them when no one else would. Mick then says that Cesaro is a “superman” and Sheamus is a “super fella” before continuing on, shaking hands with a couple more Superstars before running into RAW Women’s Champion Bayley. Bayley and Mick then share a hug before Mick comes face-to-face with Triple H, who has a big smile on his face as he tells Mick to “have a nice day”. The WWE Hall of Famer then leaves the building having said his goodbyes to the RAW locker room, leaving RAW in the sole control of Stephanie McMahon. Following the vicious attack on Seth Rollins’ knee at the hands of Triple H last week, Seth Rollins’ physical therapist and the Associate Clinical Director of Champion Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Kevin Wilk, would appear live via satellite with an update on Seth’s condition. The physical therapist would explain that the only thing that saved Seth Rollins from a “catastrophic knee injury” was the fact that he was wearing his knee brace. Wilk then says that the physical therapy is going better than he expected and, when posed with the question of if Rollins will be ready to compete at WrestleMania, Wilk says that, while Seth’s recovery is going miraculously well, he never said that Seth would be ready in time for WrestleMania. The physical therapist then gives the bad news that it will take “several months” for Seth Rollins to fully recover from the re-aggravated knee injury in order to compete, stating that there is “no doctor in America” who will clear Seth to compete at WrestleMania. Wilk then says that Seth is “very driven” to compete at WrestleMania and, if he does make it to WrestleMania, their fear is that they will be seeing Seth the next day at their facility. After getting fed up with her mistreatment at the hands of her mentor last week, former allies would face off on RAW as Dana Brooke would go one-on-one with Charlotte Flair thirteen nights before Charlotte is part of the Triple Threat Match for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. In the end, it was Charlotte Flair connecting with the big boot to Dana Brooke, pinning her former protégé for the win. Thirteen nights before he defends the United States Title against his former best friend Kevin Owens at WrestleMania, United States Champion Chris Jericho would appear on RAW to host The Highlight Reel where Jericho says his guest would be the “real” Kevin Owens. Jericho says that he doesn’t need Kevin Owens as his best friend because he’s got the “friends of Jericho”. Jericho then says that Kevin Owens likes to think of himself as some kind of “cold-blooded hitman” and a “prizefighter”, but that’s not the “real Kevin Owens”. The champion then shows a picture of the “real Kevin Owens”, which is a picture of a young Kevin Owens striking his best Chris Jericho pose while wearing a “Y2J” t-shirt with his walls adorned with various Attitude Era posters, most notably a poster of Chris Jericho. Jericho continues, saying that Kevin Owens doesn’t look like a “prizefighter” in that picture, saying Owens looks like a “fan of Jericho”, saying Owens was “marking out man”. Jericho then says that, in 2014, Kevin Owens got signed to WWE and Owens would look to Jericho for advice. Jericho would then show a Twitter DM conversation between the two from 2014 where Owens asks Jericho for advice then thanks Jericho for his words of encouragement. The United States Champion then says what he wants to see is the “real face of Kevin Owens” at WrestleMania, which is the same face they saw at Fastlane when Jericho came out. Jericho then says that he is not Kevin Owens’ “equal”, he is Owens’ “idol” before saying that, at WrestleMania, Owens is going to be transformed back into the “nerd” he was when he was sixteen years old. Jericho continues, saying that Owens is going to realize who he’s facing come WrestleMania, telling Owens to “wait and see” how much it’s going to hurt when he beats Owens at WrestleMania. Jericho is then about to put Kevin Owens’ name on the List of Jericho when the champion notices Samoa Joe coming out to the stage. This would distract Jericho long enough for Kevin Owens to attack Jericho from behind. Owens would hammer away at the United States Champion before planting his former best friend with the Pop-Up Powerbomb in the middle of the ring. Owens then picks up the List of Jericho, tossing the pen out of the ring before ripping the List of Jericho to shreds, tossing the paper in the ring before mocking Jericho and leaving the ring. In Cruiserweight action, two former champions would square off as T.J. Perkins would go one-on-one with The Brian Kendrick on RAW. In the end, it was The Brian Kendrick hitting T.J. Perkins with Sliced Bread #2, pinning Perkins to pick up the win. As part of her crusade to punish all of the Superstars who showed support for Mick Foley, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon would force RAW Women’s Champion Bayley to face the powerhouse Nia Jax in a non-title, No Disqualification match and, if Nia Jax wins, then Nia will be added to the RAW Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania, making the match a Fatal 4-Way! With no rules in place to stop her, Nia Jax would take full advantage, bringing Bayley to the outside and swinging the champion into the barricade. Nia would then grab a steel chair, but Bayley would send the chair into the face of Nia before the match returns to the ring. Bayley would repeatedly try to pin Nia Jax but Nia would prove unstoppable, hitting Bayley with the Samoan Drop and pinning the champion to pick up the win and earn her spot in the RAW Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania, which will now be a Fatal 4-Way. After ensuring that, according to the doctors, it will be highly unlikely Seth Rollins will be able to compete at WrestleMania with his vicious attack on Rollins last week, Triple H would make a special appearance on RAW for an in-ring interview with Michael Cole. Cole first asks what Triple H thinks about what Seth Rollins’ physical therapist had to say earlier in the night. Triple H says that he’s “disappointed” that Seth can’t compete at WrestleMania, saying that he “wanted” this fight with Seth Rollins and he wanted to teach Seth a lesson, but now it looks like Rollins will be missing out on competing at WrestleMania for the second year in a row. Triple H continues, saying that Seth made the “biggest mistake” of his life when Rollins decided to stop listening to Triple H and start listening to the fans. Triple H says that guys like Seth need the fans to “justify” how good they think they are, saying that he’s never needed that. Triple H then says that the fans are the ones who did all the bad things to Mick Foley in his career before saying that the fans’ cheering Seth on is what led to Rollins getting beat down by Triple H last week, saying that happened to Rollins is the fans’ “fault”. When asked about mentoring Seth Rollins, Triple H says that he became a “crutch” for Seth Rollins on Seth’s path to the top of WWE before saying that, not only will Seth miss WrestleMania for the second year in a row, but Rollins may “never” come back. Triple H then declares that, as of this very moment, he is “officially done with Seth Rollins” before Triple H hands Michael Cole some WrestleMania tickets to give to Seth Rollins so that Seth can be in the crowd for the show. Triple H then tells Michael Cole to tell Seth “thanks for coming” before Triple H is about to leave the ring. However, “The Game” comes back and takes the tickets back from Cole, asking what if there was a way that he and Seth Rollins could face each other at WrestleMania. Cole reminds Triple H that Seth won’t be medically cleared in time for WrestleMania but Triple H argues that there is always a way, saying that Rollins wants to face him at WrestleMania and he wants to face Rollins at WrestleMania. Triple H then proposes that he and Seth Rollins have a “non-sanctioned match” at WrestleMania where Seth will sign a “hold harmless agreement” to face Triple H in a match at WrestleMania and, no matter how badly Triple H damages Rollins, Seth cannot sue Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, or WWE for what happens to him. Triple H then says that he will draw up the paperwork and Seth can show up to RAW next week to sign the paperwork for them to have a match at WrestleMania. Triple H then encourages Seth Rollins to show the fans who he is before asking if Seth Rollins is just a “freakin’ coward”. Triple H then leaves the ring, having made a very interesting, potentially career-ending proposal to Seth Rollins for WrestleMania. As punishment for their support of Mick Foley, Cesaro & Sheamus would be forced to compete in a 4-on-2 Handicap Match against Enzo & Big Cass and RAW Tag Team Champions Gallows & Anderson and, if Cesaro & Sheamus lose the match, then they will be taken out of the RAW Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania. Before the match begins, Gallows & Anderson would attack their tag partners for the match, Enzo & Big Cass, taking them out at ringside! The match then gets underway, but Big Cass pulls Luke Gallows off of the ring apron, allowing Cesaro & Sheamus to hit their double team Brogue Kick on Karl Anderson with Sheamus pinning Anderson to pick up the win and ensure that they keep their spots in the RAW Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania. After the match, Enzo & Big Cass would add insult to injury by hitting Karl Anderson with the Bada Boom Shakalaka. The #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania was in action on RAW as “A-Double” Austin Aries would go one-on-one with Tony Nese. In the end, it was Austin Aries utilizing his high impact move he calls the Discus Fivearm, pinning Tony Nese to pick up the win. After the match, Cruiserweight Champion Neville comes out to the stage, saying that he could come to the ring right now and “obliterate” Austin Aries just like he has the rest of the Cruiserweight division. Neville then says that watching Aries’ “ego” spiral out of control is going to make his victory at WrestleMania that much more “satisfying”. Austin says that they all hear what Neville is saying but what he sees is a man who knows that his opponent is “above” the champion’s level before saying that, after WrestleMania, Neville’s whole “King of the Cruiserweights” façade is going to be over. Then it was time for the main event as, thirteen nights before he faces The Undertaker at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns would go one-on-one with “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman in a rematch from Fastlane. During the match, Braun Strowman would send Roman Reigns shoulder-first into the steel steps on the outside before bringing the steps into the ring. However, Roman would catch Strowman with the Superman Punch, ultimately connecting with a second Superman Punch. Reigns then sizes Braun up for the Spear, but this is when the gong of The Undertaker would sound in the arena. The lights would then go out and, when they come back on, The Undertaker is standing in the middle of the ring with his gaze set on Reigns! As the WrestleMania opponents are about to collide, Braun Strowman tries to cheap-shot “The Deadman” but The Undertaker turns around in time, grabbing “The Monster Among Men” by the throat and delivering a thunderous chokeslam to Strowman! This distraction gives Roman the opening he needed to deliver a Spear to The Undertaker! Reigns then leaves the ring, having left “The Phenom” laid out in the middle of the ring less than two weeks before WrestleMania. Once on the stage, Roman would turn to look back at The Undertaker as “The Deadman” sits up! The Undertaker then gets to his feet, signaling to Roman Reigns that the end is near for “The Big Dog” come WrestleMania. What did you think of this week’s RAW? Post your comments in the box below.
