WWE SmackDown LIVE Results: February 14, 2017By Cassidy| February 15, 2017 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results In a moment eight years in the making, SmackDown LIVE would kick off with the brand new WWE Champion as Bray Wyatt would make his way to the ring with the gold around his waist to a chorus of “you deserve it” chants from the crowd. Quoting Sister Abigail, the new champion states that Abigail told him that they would “denounce” him and they would try to “steal” his gift. Bray then says that Sister Abigail always told the “truth” and so does he, saying that when he says that he knew that this day would come, he is not telling them a lie. Wyatt then holds up the WWE Title belt up high, proclaiming that he can now say that he’s got the “whole damn world” in his hands. Bray continues, saying that “too much power” can be a very dangerous thing, but not a danger to him as it is a danger to all of them. The new champion then states that, if they walk by his side, then he will lead them to “paradise” but if they stand in his way, they will “burn in the fire”. Bray then holds the title up once more, proclaiming that he would like to welcome them all to the “era of Wyatt”! The new WWE Champion is then interrupted by the former WWE Champion as John Cena makes his way to the ring to confront Bray Wyatt. Cena says that he’s noticed that Bray has some “supporters” in the crowd tonight before accusing Bray of “brainwashing” them. Cena then says that nobody in WWE “deserves” anything, they have to “earn it” before saying that everyone is looking at the target on Bray’s shoulder that is the WWE Championship. Cena then suggests that, since everyone already knows that he’s got a rematch for the title tonight, then they should cut the “chit chat” and have the title match right now! However, just as Wyatt and Cena are about to face each other for the title, AJ Styles interrupts as AJ says that Cena is not going to get his rematch for the title before Styles gets his. AJ then says that this isn’t about John Cena, it’s about AJ Styles before pointing out that he’s beaten Cena several times and he knows that he can beat Bray Wyatt. Styles then says that he wants his rematch for the WWE Title right here, right now! This brings out SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan, who first congratulates Bray Wyatt on winning the WWE Title before saying that both Cena and Styles are owed a rematch for the WWE Title. This leads to the GM making the huge announcement that, tonight on SmackDown LIVE, Bray Wyatt will defend the WWE Championship against both John Cena and AJ Styles in a Triple Threat Match! After surviving Tag Team Turmoil to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at WWE Elimination Chamber, the SmackDown Tag Team Champions were in action on SmackDown LIVE as American Alpha would face the team they eliminated last in Tag Team Turmoil, The Ascension, in a non-title match. In the end, it was American Alpha hitting Viktor with Grand Amplitude as Chad Gable pins Viktor to pick up the win for the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. After the match, The Usos would appear on the Tron as The Usos bring up injuring Chad Gable before saying that, when Gable feels the hairs on the back of his neck standing up, then that’s The Usos as The Usos make it clear that they want a shot at the titles. Backstage, Dean Ambrose is looking everywhere for the man who put him through a pod at WWE Elimination Chamber and cost him the WWE Championship, Baron Corbin, when the Intercontinental Champion comes across James Ellsworth & Carmella. Ambrose tells Ellsworth that Carmella is just “using” him which offends Carmella as Carmella asks if Ellsworth is going to let this “gas station attendant” talk to her like that. A cautious Ellsworth then gets in the face of Ambrose before Daniel Bryan stumbles upon the confrontation, asking what the problem is. Ambrose explains that he’s looking for Baron Corbin before pointing out that Ellsworth is dressed like a “schmuck”. Ambrose then asks if he can “beat the crap” out of James Ellsworth right now. The GM then thinks about it, saying that Ambrose needs to take his aggression out on someone and that Ambrose and Ellsworth do have unfinished business before Daniel makes the match official, much to the dismay of James Ellsworth. James Ellsworth & Carmella then make an in-ring appearance as Ellsworth gets ready to go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose. However, Ambrose’s music would play with Dean no-showing before Baron Corbin comes out, dragging a clearly beaten up Dean Ambrose. “The Lone Wolf” then kicks Ambrose in the mid-section before the Intercontinental Champion fights back, diving off of a nearby anvil case onto Baron Corbin. However, Corbin would then grab Ambrose, tossing the Intercontinental Champion through a table and into some electrical equipment near the stage as sparks fly from the equipment! Referees then rush to check on Dean Ambrose after the vicious attack. Backstage, Daniel Bryan is reviewing the backstage brawl that took place between Nikki Bella and Natalya following their match at WWE Elimination Chamber. The GM tells Nikki that the fighting between Nikki and Natalya has to stop before Natalya interrupts, saying that Nikki always gets what she wants because she’s John Cena’s girlfriend. This leads to an argument between the two former friends before the arguing leads to a brawl. Daniel then calls for security as security pulls Nikki and Natalya apart before a clearly fed up Daniel Bryan announces that, next week on SmackDown LIVE, Nikki and Natalya will face each other in a Falls Count Anywhere Match! The GM then storms out of the office in a huff. In a rematch from WWE Elimination Chamber, “The Irish Lass Kicker” Becky Lynch would go one-on-one with Mickie James on SmackDown LIVE. During the match, Mickie James would appear to hurt her arm, but it would all prove to be a ruse as Becky Lynch would fall for the ruse as the referee keeps Becky back. However, Mickie would catch Becky with a Mick Kick, pinning Becky to pick up the win, avenging her loss from WWE Elimination Chamber. After defeating Alexa Bliss at WWE Elimination Chamber to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion, Naomi would make an appearance on SmackDown LIVE for an in-ring interview. The new champion would take this opportunity to explain an injury she suffered at the pay-per-view, saying that she was on such a high after winning the title that she didn’t even initially notice that she was injured. Naomi then says that she’s been down this road before and it’s taken her eight years to get to this point and nothing is going to take the moment away from her. The champion then vows that she is bringing the title home to Orlando at WrestleMania one way or another. Naomi is then interrupted by the former champion as Alexa Bliss makes her way to the ring. Alexa says that Naomi’s injury is imaginary because Naomi knows that, when they compete for the title, that Naomi wouldn’t be able to keep the title. Bliss continues, saying that Naomi isn’t going to “feel the glow”, Naomi is going to feel the feeling of someone who “flopped”. Alexa then says that she wants Naomi to bring her whole family to WrestleMania to see the real SmackDown Women’s Champion. Injury or not, Naomi doesn’t back down as Naomi says that she can “snatch” Alexa Bliss right here tonight. Bliss then says that she is going to give Naomi one week to be ready for their rematch, saying that Naomi can either hand the title over to her or she can beat Naomi up and down the ring and take her title back. Alexa then concludes by telling Naomi to “feel that glow” before leaving the ring. Then it was time for the main event as, just two nights after winning the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber, Bray Wyatt would defend the WWE Championship against “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles and sixteen-time former World Champion John Cena in a Triple Threat Match where the first Superstar to score either a pinfall or a submission would walk out as the WWE Champion. However, before the match begins, Bray Wyatt would make his signature entrance, but when the WWE Champion blows out the light of his lantern, he comes face-to-face with his former follower Luke Harper! With payback on his mind, Luke Harper would attack Bray Wyatt on the outside, pummeling “The Eater of Worlds” and tossing the champion into the barricade. As referees rush out to break it up, Luke Harper blasts Bray Wyatt with a super kick, leaving the WWE Champion laid out on the floor! Despite the attack by Luke Harper, the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship would get underway with Bray Wyatt entering his first defense of the WWE Title already hurting against two former champions in AJ Styles and John Cena. During the match, Bray Wyatt and John Cena would go counter-for-counter with Cena avoiding Sister Abigail before AJ Styles connects with the Phenomenal Forearm to Bray Wyatt. Cena then catches AJ Styles with the Attitude Adjustment, but AJ Styles kicks out! Bray then hits Cena with Sister Abigail, nearly putting Cena away with Styles able to break up the pinfall at the last second. On the outside, AJ Styles would put Bray Wyatt on the announce table before AJ dives off of the barricade with a frog splash to the WWE Champion but the table doesn’t break. AJ then decides to try again as Styles gets on the barricade a second time, hitting a big leg drop that sends Bray crashing through the announce table! As Bray Wyatt lies on the outside amongst the remains of the announce table, AJ Styles sizes John Cena up for the Phenomenal Forearm in the ring. However, Cena manages to catch Styles, delivering the Attitude Adjustment to AJ Styles and, just like at the Royal Rumble, Cena would roll through to try for a second back-to-back Attitude Adjustment but Styles would counter the second Attitude Adjustment into the Calf Crusher! However, Cena is able to counter into the STF, but just as it looks like Styles is about to tap out, Bray Wyatt manages to get back into the ring, hitting a big senton to the back of John Cena to break the hold. Bray then tosses Styles out of the ring, sizing Cena up for Sister Abigail, but Cena counters with the Attitude Adjustment with Bray somehow able to kick out! Styles then gets back into the fight, hitting Cena with the Styles Clash, but Cena is able to kick out. AJ then looks for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Bray Wyatt shoves Cena into the ropes, causing AJ to get hung up on the top rope. Bray is then quick to capitalize, hitting Cena with Sister Abigail and pinning Cena to successfully retain the WWE Championship in a hellacious Triple Threat Match! After the hard-fought win, Bray Wyatt would kneel in the ring holding up the WWE Title belt before the man who will face Bray Wyatt for the title at WrestleMania comes out as Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. Orton then comes face-to-face with the WWE Champion and his fellow Wyatt Family member as Orton tells Bray that he won the Royal Rumble Match and earned all the privileges that go along with it. Shockingly, “The Viper” tells Bray that, as long as Bray is the “master” and he is the “servant”, he refuses to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania! Orton then says that he pledges his “undying allegiance” to Bray Wyatt before kneeling before the WWE Champion as Bray tells his devout follower that Orton has the “keys to the kingdom”. The WWE Champion then kneels in the ring with the #1 Contender standing behind him as The Wyatt Family stands united, much to the confusion of everyone as the WWE Title match at WrestleMania takes an unusual turn with the Royal Rumble Match winner refusing to compete against his “master”!
