WWE RAW Results: February 6, 2017By Cassidy| February 7, 2017 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and RAW General Manager Mick Foley in the ring. A clearly troubled Mick Foley says that they are not going to waste any time in introducing the “hottest free agent of the new era”, checking with Stephanie on this description before the GM says that he hopes that Triple H is “happy” with this signing because he is not. The GM then introduces the man who ambushed Seth Rollins last week and put Rollins on the shelf at the instruction of Triple H as two-time former NXT Champion “The Inevitable” Samoa Joe makes his way to the ring in suit and tie. Not pleased with Mick Foley’s introduction, the proud RAW Commissioner gives a much more enthusiastic introduction of Samoa Joe. Stephanie then confronts Foley, asking if the GM is upset because he didn’t bring Samoa Joe to RAW or if Foley is upset because, once again, she had to do Foley’s job for him! The GM says that he has pushed for Samoa Joe to be brought to RAW for a long time, but he doesn’t care for how Samoa Joe decided to make his RAW debut nor does he care for the people that Joe has decided to associate himself with! Samoa Joe then speaks up, telling Mick Foley that it took him “eighteen years” to make it to WWE and, in those eighteen years, there was “one man” who opened the door and gave him an opportunity. “The Inevitable” then says that, if it takes beating up Seth Rollins and putting Rollins on the shelf to show his “loyalty” to that one man, then “so be it”. Joe then addresses the fans, saying that he will take every one of their “heroes” and choke them out and, when they come to, he will beat them down again because “the destroyer has arrived and there’s nothing you can do about it”! With that bold proclamation, Samoa Joe then signs his contract to officially become a member of the RAW roster. This brings out another tough Samoan capable of serious destruction as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring to confront Samoa Joe. Roman tells Joe that, if he wants to make threats, then why doesn’t Joe try and “threaten” him. Reigns then introduces himself to Samoa Joe, saying that he’s the “baddest man to step foot in WWE” and, now, Joe’s in his “yard”. Roman then says that Joe has a choice, he can either shut his mouth or he is going to “cave it in”. Mick Foley then interrupts the face-off, saying that he is still the General Manager so he’s got his “loyalty” to each and every one of the fans. The GM then announces that Roman Reigns will go one-on-one with Samoa Joe tonight on RAW! Mick and Stephanie then keep their respective Superstars at bay before Stephanie leaves with Samoa Joe, leaving Reigns and Foley in the ring. Before she challenges Charlotte Flair for the RAW Women’s Championship on next week’s RAW in a rematch from the Royal Rumble, Bayley would have a tall task ahead of her on this week’s RAW as Bayley would go one-on-one with the destructive and dominant Nia Jax. During the match, Nia Jax would look to methodically pick Bayley apart, but Bayley would spot her opening on the outside, twice sending Nia Jax into the ring post before getting back into the ring. However, as Bayley awaits a count-out victory, RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair comes down to the ring, getting in the ring apron. Bayley would take this opportunity to bring the champion into the ring, sending Charlotte out of the ring with a dropkick. In the meantime, Nia Jax had gotten back into the ring and Bayley walks right into a Samoan Drop from Nia Jax as Nia pins Bayley for the win. After the match, Nia Jax would leave the ring as Charlotte Flair stands over the fallen Bayley, holding up the RAW Women’s Title. “The Monster Among Men” was in action on RAW as Braun Strowman would face local competitors C.C. Bonin, Rob Pelly, Dusty Wallace, & James Stock in a 4-on-1 Handicap Match. Braun Strowman would easily manhandle the four competitors to the point that one of them would actually run away from the ring! Braun would then squash one of the three remaining competitors with the running powerslam, stacking the other two competitors on top of him, pinning the three men to pick up a one-sided victory. After the match, Braun Strowman addresses RAW General Manager Mick Foley, expressing his disdain for such a lack of competition before marching to the backstage area to confront Foley. Backstage, Braun does just that, getting in the GM’s face and demanding competition, but Foley came prepared, announcing that, at next month’s Fastlane pay-per-view, Braun Strowman will go one-on-one with Roman Reigns! Braun then storms off, seemingly pleased with this match. In Cruiserweight action, RAW would see the RAW debut of a world renowned competitor with a variety of picture perfect suplexes at his disposal as Akira Tozawa would go one-on-one with Drew Gulak. In the end, it was Akira Tozawa snapping off his flawless German suplex, bridging into a pin, securing the three-count to pick up the win. After the match, The Brian Kendrick would enter the ring, applauding Tozawa before leaving the ring. WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and United States Champion Chris Jericho would then make their way to the ring on RAW. Owens says that nobody gave him a fighting chance against Braun Strowman last week, but he is still the WWE Universal Champion. Jericho then says that, tonight, after he successfully defends the United States Title against Sami Zayn, he will still be the United States Champion and the “greatest of all-time”. Jericho then addresses New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, putting Brady on the List of Jericho for calling himself the “greatest of all-time”. The United States Champion continues, proposing a “best friend vs. best friend” and “champion vs. champion” match for the WWE Universal Title between himself and Kevin Owens in the main event of WrestleMania, calling the match the “biggest main event in WrestleMania history”. Owens agrees with the boastful claim of his best friend, but says that he’s not sure that he can fight his best friend. This is when Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho would be unexpectedly interrupted by former World Champion Goldberg, who makes his way to the ring to confront the best friends. The ever intense Goldberg wastes little time in making his intentions known, telling Owens & Jericho to step aside and “live” or they can “grow a pair” and face him two-on-one right now! The best friends would decide to step aside, standing by as Goldberg addresses the challenge made by Brock Lesnar last week for a rematch between Goldberg and Brock at WrestleMania. Goldberg says that he has never backed down from a challenge before declaring that he accepts Brock Lesnar’s challenge for a match at WrestleMania! Kevin Owens then chimes in, saying that Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar will be a perfect “undercard match” for “KO-Mania”. Owens then refers to himself and Jericho as the “main event” before asking Goldberg if he knows why he is the “longest reigning WWE Universal Champion of all-time”. Goldberg is quick to answer, saying that it’s because Owens has never faced him with the title on the line, challenging Kevin Owens to a one-on-one match for the WWE Universal Title at Fastlane! Chris Jericho then steps in, asking what happens to people who try to make their own matches, intending to put Goldberg on the List of Jericho. However, Goldberg takes the pen and list away from Jericho, putting his name on the List of Jericho himself! The United States Champion then tells Goldberg that he has never liked Goldberg before saying that, if Goldberg wants a match at Fastlane, then he’s got a match at Fastlane. However, while it initially seems as though Jericho was about to be the one to face Goldberg at Fastlane, Jericho puts his best friend into a difficult position by accepting Goldberg’s challenge for a WWE Universal Title match on Kevin Owens’ behalf! Goldberg then tells Kevin Owens that it looks like Kevin Owens and the WWE Universal Championship are “next” before leaving the ring as Owens and Jericho argue over the title match. After Gallows & Anderson used some underhanded tactics to win the RAW Tag Team Titles on the Royal Rumble Kickoff, the rematch would take place on RAW as Cesaro & Sheamus would challenge Gallows & Anderson for the RAW Tag Team Championship with Enzo & Big Cass seated at ringside. During the match, Luke Gallows would get knocked to the outside and this is when Gallows would catch Enzo Amore with a kick to the head and Big Cass would retaliate with a big boot to Gallows. This would end the match by disqualification, costing Cesaro & Sheamus the titles as Gallows & Anderson retain. The New Day were in tag team action on RAW as The New Day’s Big E & Xavier Woods, with Kofi Kingston in their corner, would face The Shining Stars. In the end, it was Big E & Xavier Woods hitting the Midnight Hour on Epico before Xavier pins Epico for the win. It was officially announced on RAW that the legendary tag team that spent much of the 90’s blazing their trail through the NWA, AWA, WCW, and WWE would take their spots in the WWE Hall of Fame as The Rock N’ Roll Express, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 31 in Orlando! As a result of his non-title victory over the champion last week, RAW would see Sami Zayn challenge Chris Jericho, with Kevin Owens in his corner, for the United States Championship. During a hard-fought title match, Sami Zayn would hit Chris Jericho with the Blue Thunder Bomb, but Jericho would kick out before ultimately locking in the Walls of Jericho. However, Sami would manage to get to the ropes to break the hold but, as Chris Jericho keeps the referee occupied, Kevin Owens would deliver a super kick to Zayn behind the referee’s back. This would allow Jericho to hit Sami with the Codebreaker, pinning Zayn to successfully retain the United States Title. After the match, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho would embrace as the best friends work together to keep the gold once again. 205 Live Color Commentator Austin Aries would then conduct an in-ring interview with Cruiserweight Champion Neville on RAW. Aries first reveals that Rich Swann is currently on the shelf with an ankle injury before Aries announces that, on 205 Live tomorrow night, T.J. Perkins, Tony Nese, Cedric Alexander, Noam Dar, and Jack Gallagher will face off in a Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match with the winner challenging Neville for the Cruiserweight Title at Fastlane. Austin then asks Neville which one of the five potential challengers “scares” Neville the most. The champion calls Aries “delusional” before saying that it doesn’t matter who becomes the #1 Contender because they will “bend at the knee” to the “King of the Cruiserweights”. This brings out each of the five possible contenders as Cedric Alexander comes out to the ring followed by Noam Dar, who says that he would love to “steal” the Cruiserweight Title just like he stole Alicia Fox from Cedric Alexander. Jack Gallagher then comes out, suggesting that the Cruiserweight Champion should be a “gentleman”. Tony Nese then makes his way to the ring as Austin Aries continues to protest the repeated interruptions. Lastly, T.J. Perkins makes his way to the ring, saying that he has actually been the Cruiserweight Champion before, vowing to be the champion again. Perkins then attacks Tony Nese, sparking a brawl between the six Cruiserweights. The fight then comes down to Neville and Jack Gallagher with Gallagher getting the better of the Cruiserweight Champion before Noam Dar pulls Gallagher out of the ring. Perkins then dives to the outside to take out Dar followed by Tony Nese, who dives to take out T.J. Perkins. Cedric Alexander then takes flight, taking out Gallagher, Dar, Nese, and Perkins before Neville teases a dive, deciding to hold up the Cruiserweight Title belt instead. In an impromptu 6-Man Tag match, the team of Jack Gallagher, Cedric Alexander, & T.J. Perkins would face Cruiserweight Champion Neville, Noam Dar, & Tony Nese on RAW. In the end, it was Cedric Alexander hitting Noam Dar with the Lumbar Check, pinning Dar to pick up the win for his team. Then it was time for the main event as RAW’s newest signee “The Destroyer” Samoa Joe was set to go one-on-one with Roman Reigns. However, as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring, he is blindsided by Samoa Joe! Joe would send Reigns into the barricade and into the ring apron, pummeling Reigns before sending Roman face-first into the ring post. “The Destroyer” then hits a senton on Roman on the floor before Joe enters the ring as the referee checks on Reigns. Roman Reigns would then manage to get into the ring, assuring the referee that he is ready to compete before the match finally gets underway. Despite entering the match at a disadvantage, Roman Reigns would continue to battle back against the onslaught of Samoa Joe. Late in the match, Roman Reigns was able to take Samoa Joe down with the Superman Punch, but as Roman sets Joe up for the Spear, Braun Strowman marches down to the ring. Reigns is able to knock “The Monster Among Men” off of the ring apron with the Superman Punch, but the distraction gives Samoa Joe the opening he needs as Joe scores with a kick to the head of Reigns. Joe then follows this up with a uranage slam, pinning Roman Reigns to pick up the win. After the match, Samoa Joe would leave the ring as Braun Strowman picks up Roman Reigns before drilling Roman with the running powerslam. “The Monster Among Men” then lords over Roman Reigns before bringing Reigns to the outside with Roman trying to fight back, but Braun just clubs Roman down. Strowman then grabs the steel steps, ramming the steps into the face of Roman Reigns! Braun then loads Reigns up on his shoulder, running full-force as Strowman sends Roman Reigns through the ringside barricade with a hellacious running powerslam! Braun then backs up as referees rush to check on Roman Reigns, who is laid out on the floor. What did you think of this week’s RAW? Post your comments in the box below.
