WWE Elimination Chamber 2017 ResultsBy Cassidy| February 13, 2017 WWE PPVs Previous Page Detailed Results The final SmackDown LIVE pay-per-view before WrestleMania kicks off with Women’s Division action as WWE Elimination Chamber gets underway with “The Irish Lass Kicker” Becky Lynch going one-on-one with the unhinged five-time former Women’s Champion Mickie James. Throughout the match, Mickie James would target the left arm of Becky Lynch, methodically wearing Becky down. Despite the punishment, Becky would continue to battle against her veteran opponent but Mickie would score with the Mick Kick with Becky managing to kick out. Becky then avoids the Mickie-T before trying for the Dis-Arm-Her, but Mickie attempts to counter into a roll-up before Becky counters, keeping Mickie down for the three-count to pick up the win. Dolph Ziggler was then set to compete in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match against both Kalisto and Apollo Crews at WWE Elimination Chamber, but Dolph would ambush Kalisto during Kalisto’s entrance, tossing the high-flyer into the LED board on the stage! Ziggler would then head for the ring and, after Crews checks on Kalisto, Apollo marches to the ring with a purpose as the match gets underway without Kalisto. In the midst of the match, Kalisto would hobble his way down to ringside, holding his lower back. As Kalisto climbs onto the apron, Apollo catches Dolph with a kick to the head before Crews tags Kalisto into the match. Shortly after this, Apollo would tag himself into the match unbeknownst to Dolph and Crews would hit his elevated sitout powerbomb, pinning Ziggler to pick up the win. After the match, Dolph would knock Kalisto off of the ring apron before grabbing a steel chair and bringing it into the ring. Ziggler then beats Apollo down before placing the chair around the left ankle of Apollo Crews, hesitating before stomping on the chair, potentially crushing the ankle of Crews! Dolph then puts the chair around the ankle of Crews again before crushing the ankle a second time! Ziggler then leaves the ring with a smile on his face as Kalisto and referees check on Apollo. In the first championship match of the night, the SmackDown Tag Team Titles would be on the line in the unique Tag Team Turmoil Match as American Alpha would defend the tag titles against The Usos, Breezango, The Ascension, The Vaudevillains, and Heath Slater & Rhyno. In the Tag Team Turmoil Match, two teams would start the match and, when one team is defeated by either pinfall, submission, disqualification, or count-out, the losing team must return to the locker room and another team will come out to compete. This would continue until every team has entered the match with the last team remaining winning the match and leaving as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The two teams who would start the match would be former champions Heath Slater & Rhyno squaring off with Breezango. During the match, Heath Slater would tag Rhyno into the match and Fandango was unaware of the tag. This would lead to Rhyno hitting Fandango with the Gore, pinning Fandango to eliminate Breezango from Tag Team Turmoil. The next team would then enter Tag Team Turmoil as The Vaudevillains would compete against Heath Slater & Rhyno. The former champions would make relatively quick work of The Vaudevillains as Heath Slater would hit Aiden English with the Impaler DDT, pinning English to eliminate The Vaudevillains from the match. Having defeated two teams, Heath Slater & Rhyno would then face The Usos in Tag Team Turmoil. The Usos would prove to be the team to take Heath Slater & Rhyno out of Tag Team Turmoil as Jimmy Uso would catch Slater with a super kick, pinning Slater to eliminate Heath Slater & Rhyno from the match. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions would then join the match as American Alpha would square off with The Usos. The champions would manage to eliminate The Usos with Chad Gable rolling up Jey Uso, but that wouldn’t stop The Usos from trying to pick apart American Alpha as The Usos would bring the champions to the outside before sending Gable into the steel steps. Back in the ring, The Usos would hit Jason Jordan with the Uso Splash off of the top rope before referees are finally able to get The Usos out of the ring. With American Alpha ripe for the picking, the final team would enter Tag Team Turmoil as The Ascension marches to the ring. The Ascension would hit Jason Jordan with the Fall of Man but Chad Gable is able to make the save at the last possible second. Somehow, American Alpha are able to rally and hit Viktor with Grand Amplitude as Chad Gable pins Konnor to win the Tag Team Turmoil Match to successfully retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. An intensely personal feud would then come to a head at WWE Elimination Chamber as Nikki Bella would go one-on-one with Natalya. During the match, Natalya would lock in the Sharpshooter on Nikki Bella, but Nikki would manage to counter into the STF. Natalya would get to the ropes but that is when the match would spill to the outside as Nikki and Natalya would brawl until the referee’s ten-count, ending the match in a double count-out. After the match, Natalya would cheap shot Nikki but Nikki wasn’t through with Natalya, taking Natalya down on the stage, hammering away at Natalya until Natalya is able to escape as Natalya runs to the back. With a close eye on the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match that will determine who he will face for the WWE Title at WrestleMania, “The Viper” Randy Orton would go one-on-one with his former Wyatt Family brother Luke Harper. During an intense match between the former teammates, Luke Harper would dive to the outside, sending Randy Orton careening over the German announce table. Harper then slams Orton back-first onto the announce table but “The Viper” is able to rebound with a big powerslam on the arena floor. Back in the ring, Randy Orton would hit Luke Harper with a superplex, leaving both men down before Orton is able to try for the cover, but Harper is able to kick out. Harper then battles back, hitting Orton with a super kick that stuns “The Viper”, following it up with a second super kick that nearly secures the win for Harper, but Orton is able to kick out. Harper then hits a sitout powerbomb on Orton, but Orton is able to kick out again. Both men then fight back to their feet with Luke Harper going for the Discus Clothesline, but Randy Orton is able to counter, hitting the RKO to finally keep Luke Harper down for the three-count as “The Viper” picks up the win, picking up steam as Orton looks ahead to WrestleMania. Backstage, Nikki Bella is being interviewed about her earlier match with Natalya when Nikki is ambushed by Natalya, sparking a brawl between the two women that even involves Maryse gets covered in powder. Referees are then able to separate Nikki and Natalya, who’s intense feud is obviously far from over. The SmackDown Women’s Championship would then be on the line at WWE Elimination Chamber as Alexa Bliss would defend the title against Naomi. During the match, Alexa Bliss would roll Naomi up and would put her feet on the ropes, but the referee would spot this and would call off the pin. Alexa would then go for Twisted Bliss, but Naomi would get her knees up and Naomi would follow this up with the split-legged moonsault, pinning Alexa Bliss to become the brand new SmackDown Women’s Champion! After the match, Naomi is interviewed about winning her first Women’s Title as the crowd chants “you deserve it” in support of the new champion. Naomi says that she’s “snatched” the SmackDown Women’s Title from Alexa Bliss and, now, she’s going to walk into her hometown of Orlando for WrestleMania as the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Naomi then concludes by asking the Phoenix crowd if they can “feel the glow”. Then it was time for a savage and punishing main event as John Cena would walk into the all-new Elimination Chamber to defend the WWE Championship against “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt, “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin, the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz, and Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose. In the Elimination Chamber Match, two Superstars would start the match with the other four Superstars being locked inside their own respective pods and, every five minutes, one of the pods will be opened and that Superstar will join the match. This would continue until all four pods have been opened and every Superstar has entered the match. Elimination occurs by either pinfall or submission with the last man remaining in the match leaving the Elimination Chamber as the WWE Champion. Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin, The Miz, and Bray Wyatt would come out first to take their spots inside the pods, meaning that WWE Champion John Cena and the man he beat for the title at the Royal Rumble, AJ Styles, would start the Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship. Cena and Styles would go back-and-forth for the first five minutes of the match, trying their best to eliminate the other before the first of four pods is opened as Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose joins the match. Ambrose would immediately use the Chamber to his advantage in the match, repeatedly sending Cena into the steel chains before slamming AJ Styles on the Chamber floor! The Intercontinental Champion would then climb to the top of his pod, diving off to take out John Cena! Back in the ring, Styles would try to suplex Ambrose but Cena would rush in and deliver a German suplex to both Styles and Ambrose at the same time. AJ then catches Cena with a kick before Ambrose takes Styles down with his signature clothesline. The second pod is then opened as the fourth competitor enters the demonic structure as “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt is released into the match. After Bray takes down Ambrose, Wyatt would send AJ Styles into the steel chain of the Chamber. However, AJ is able to fight out, hitting a modified guillotine leg drop on the Chamber floor. Styles would then turn his attention back to John Cena as both men would battle before both AJ and Cena would climb the side of the Chamber. Cena and Styles then trade blows high above the ring with AJ able to knock the champion off of the Chamber to the floor! AJ then climbs his way over to the top of a pod, but Styles is joined atop the pod by Dean Ambrose as the former rivals take turns sending the other face-first into the glass corner of the Chamber. Bray Wyatt then tries to pull Dean Ambrose off of the pod with Ambrose diving off the top of the pod only for Bray to catch the Intercontinental Champion with an uppercut. Wyatt then battles Ambrose on the top rope with Ambrose dropping down before Bray grabs Styles, leading to Ambrose powerbombing Wyatt, who suplexes AJ at the same time. The third pod then opens, allowing “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin to enter the Elimination Chamber. As the freshest man in the match, Baron Corbin would take over in the match, sending Bray Wyatt face-first into a pod before slamming Wyatt onto the floor. Back in the ring, Baron Corbin would hit AJ Styles with the End of Days before fighting out of John Cena’s STF, hitting the champion with the End of Days as well! Dean Ambrose then takes Baron Corbin down, wasting little time in bringing “The Lone Wolf” to the outside where Ambrose sends Corbin into the steel chain wall before Corbin battles back, sending Ambrose into the chain in return. Back in the ring, Ambrose would climb to the top rope, but Baron Corbin would shove Ambrose off of the top rope as Ambrose collides with the steel chain wall. With “The Lone Wolf” standing tall in the ring, the final pod opens as The Miz enters into the match. However, The Miz would appear completely mortified about entering the Elimination Chamber and, as Baron Corbin stands in the ring waiting for The Miz to leave his pod, Dean Ambrose is able to catch Corbin off-guard, surprising “The Lone Wolf” with a roll-up to eliminate Baron Corbin from the match! However, Baron Corbin would not go quietly, attacking Ambrose from behind before hurling the Intercontinental Champion through the glass pod! “The Lone Wolf” would then repeatedly smash the head of Dean Ambrose into the chain wall before planting Ambrose with the End of Days in the ring! Corbin would then finally leave the Chamber and this is when The Miz would take advantage of Baron Corbin’s handiwork as The Miz leaps at the opportunity to pin Dean Ambrose, eliminating Ambrose from the match. The Miz would then target John Cena and Bray Wyatt, taking both Superstars down before giving AJ Styles the same treatment. The Miz then takes down both Styles and Wyatt before connecting with his corner clothesline to John Cena. Bray then pulls The Miz to the outside, but The Miz catches Wyatt with the Skull Crushing Finale on the Chamber floor. Back in the ring, John Cena would catch The Miz with the Attitude Adjustment, pinning The Miz to eliminate The Miz from the match. This would bring the match down to AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, and defending champion John Cena with Cena taking over in the match, hitting Bray Wyatt with the Attitude Adjustment before AJ Styles grabs Cena, hitting the champion with the Styles Clash, but Cena is able to kick out. AJ then misses with the Phenomenal Forearm before Cena capitalizes with the Attitude Adjustment, but Styles kicks out! Cena then climbs on top of one of the pods, launching himself off of the pod with a huge cross body to both AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt, leaving all three men laid out in the ring! Cena is the first one to his feet as the champion looks for the Attitude Adjustment on Bray Wyatt, but Bray is able to fight out before hitting Cena with Sister Abigail, pinning John Cena to eliminate the champion from the match, meaning that a new WWE Champion is guaranteed to be crowned inside the Chamber! With a new WWE Champion guaranteed to be crowned, it would come down to AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt one-on-one inside the Elimination Chamber. Styles and Wyatt would trade blows with AJ nearly beating Wyatt with a roll-up before Bray levels Styles with a big clothesline, but Styles kicks out. AJ then hits Bray with the springboard 450 Splash but Wyatt kicks out. Styles then sizes Wyatt up for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Bray is able to catch AJ, delivering Sister Abigail to Styles, pinning AJ Styles to become the brand new WWE Champion for the first time in his career! Bray Wyatt then stands tall in the center of the ring, holding the WWE Title belt high and pointing at the WrestleMania sign as Randy Orton comes out to the stage as the WWE Championship match is set for WrestleMania as it will be Bray Wyatt defending the WWE Championship against Randy Orton as the Wyatt Family brothers will go one-on-one with the top prize in WWE on the line on “The Grandest Stage of Them All”!
