WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs 2016 ResultsBy Cassidy| December 5, 2016 WWE PPVs The Phenomenal Betrayal. SmackDown LIVE would present WWE’s annual demolition derby as the 8th annual WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs came to you, live on the WWE Network, from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Ever since AJ Styles won the WWE World Championship from Dean Ambrose back in September, Dean Ambrose has set out to make AJ’s life miserable, costing the champion multiple matches against James Ellsworth in an effort to humiliate “The Face That Runs The Place”. Now it all comes down to WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs in a match that is sure to be as destructive as it is memorable when AJ Styles defends the WWE World Championship against Dean Ambrose in a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match where the WWE World Title will be hanging high above the ring and the only way to win is by climbing a ladder and retrieving the title! In a match flooded with tables, ladders, and chairs all at the disposal of AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose, who will prove that they want the WWE World Title more than their opponent in this grueling match of high risk and high reward? After their match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship a few weeks ago in Scotland ended in controversy when Alexa Bliss lost the match despite her foot being on the bottom rope, there would be no controversy in the rematch at WWE TLC when Becky Lynch defends the SmackDown Women’s Title against Alexa Bliss in a Tables Match, where the first competitor to put their opponent through a table will walk out as the SmackDown Women’s Champion! Can Becky Lynch put her issues with Alexa Bliss behind her once and for all or will Alexa Bliss put Becky through a table and become only the second SmackDown Women’s Champion in history? For months, The Miz and Dolph Ziggler have traded victories and been at each other’s throats at every opportunity and, at No Mercy last month, The Miz thought he would see the last of “The Show Off” when The Miz put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dolph in a match where Dolph also put his career on the line. Despite interference from Maryse and The Spirit Squad and underhanded tactics by The Miz, Dolph Ziggler would walk out of No Mercy with his career intact and the Intercontinental Championship. However, a little over a month later on the 900th episode of SmackDown LIVE, The Miz would again use his wife Maryse to his advantage as Maryse would help The Miz counter a roll-up by Dolph Ziggler as The Miz would secure the three-count to win his sixth Intercontinental Title. These two bitter rivals will finally look to end their feud once and for all at WWE TLC when The Miz puts the prestigious Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder Match, where the Intercontinental Title will be hanging high above the ring with the first Superstar who is able to climb a ladder and retrieve the championship being crowned the winner. Given that both The Miz and Dolph Ziggler are former holders of the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase, there is no doubt that they are more than capable of causing mass destruction with ladders. Who will walk out of WWE TLC as the Intercontinental Champion and will this bring a definitive end to this longstanding rivalry? WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs would be home to Heath Slater & Rhyno’s toughest test to date as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions as, after American Alpha outlasted The Usos, The Ascension, The Vaudevillains, The Hype Bros, and Breezango in Tag Team Turmoil a couple of weeks ago, the former NXT Tag Team Champions would be confronted by The Wyatt Family as Bray Wyatt revealed his intentions for he and Randy Orton to be the #1 Contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. This past Tuesday night on SmackDown LIVE, those intentions would become a reality as, with an assist from Luke Harper, Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton would defeat American Alpha to become the #1 Contenders and, at WWE TLC, this unholy alliance will challenge Heath Slater & Rhyno for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles! While Heath Slater & Rhyno have proven their merit as SmackDown Tag Team Champions, is there any stopping the formidable team of Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton? Ever since both Superstars were drafted to SmackDown LIVE, Baron Corbin has made it his mission to try and put Kalisto out of action permanently, repeatedly assaulting the high-flyer in the backstage area, putting Kalisto on the shelf for a couple of months. However, the proud luchador would come back with a vengeance, taking it to “The Lone Wolf” before trying to injure Baron Corbin in return. Now this rivalry will come to a head at WWE TLC when Kalisto goes one-on-one with Baron Corbin in a Chairs Match, where steel chairs will be legal to use for both competitors. Will the rules of the Chairs Match prove an equalizer for Kalisto or will the steel chairs lead to Baron Corbin putting an end to Kalisto? In a rivalry that began out of professional jealousy has now turned into an immensely personal war between Nikki Bella and Carmella. “The Princess of Staten Island” has made it no secret as of late that she thinks that Nikki Bella is a fraud, citing Nikki’s success in WWE as being the product of her relationship with Nikki’s boyfriend John Cena. Naturally, Nikki has not taken this lightly, stating that she has done her best to keep her professional and personal life separate so that she could forge her own path in WWE. At WWE TLC, there will be no holding back when Nikki Bella and Carmella go one-on-one in a No Disqualification Match where there will be no rules and nothing stopping these two from tearing each other apart.
