WWE RAW Results: December 12, 2016By Cassidy| December 13, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results Mere hours before they are set to tie the record set by Demolition as the longest reigning tag team champions of all-time, The New Day would first have to survive a Triple Threat Tag Match as the champions as The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, would defend the RAW Tag Team Titles against both Cesaro & Sheamus and Gallows & Anderson in a match where the first team to score a pinfall or submission will win the match and walk out as the RAW Tag Team Champions. During the wild match, Cesaro would send Karl Anderson for a ride with the Cesaro Swing, transitioning into the Sharpshooter with Sheamus coming in to keep anyone else from getting involved. However, Big E then comes in, dumping Sheamus over the top rope before grabbing Cesaro but Cesaro battles back, sending Big E to the outside. Cesaro then tags Sheamus in as Cesaro holds Karl Anderson up before Sheamus blasts Anderson with the Brogue Kick. Before Cesaro & Sheamus can capitalize, Kofi Kingston enters the ring, hitting Sheamus with Trouble in Paradise and, with Big E keeping Cesaro from breaking it up, Kofi would score the three-count as The New Day successfully retain the RAW Tag Team Titles, ensuring that The New Day will tie Demolition’s record as the longest reigning tag team champions of all-time! Moments after successfully retaining the RAW Tag Team Titles in a Triple Threat Tag Match against Cesaro & Sheamus and Gallows & Anderson, The New Day would arrive at their celebration backstage where they are greeted by friends and colleagues alike, including RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and RAW General Manager Mick Foley. Stephanie would offer a toast to The New Day on ensuring that they will become the longest reigning tag team champions of all-time before The New Day gets a little too wild with the champagne, drenching the RAW Commissioner! Stephanie does not respond well to this, knocking the giant bowl of Booty-O’s out of Big E’s hands before storming off, leaving the party-goers silent. RAW would then see the unstoppable monster known as Braun Strowman in action as Curtis Axel would go one-on-one with the powerhouse. In the end, it was Braun Strowman slamming Curtis Axel face-first in the center of the ring, pinning Axel for another dominant victory. After the match, Braun Strowman is asked for a response to Sami Zayn tweeting that Sami wants a match with Braun Strowman “or else”. Braun says that Mick Foley is “protecting” Sami Zayn and the GM should protect Sami from him, roaring that Zayn cannot last “two minutes” against him and neither can anyone else. Backstage, Sami Zayn confronts Mick Foley, saying that the RAW General Manager is trying to “save” him but he doesn’t need saving. Sami then says that Foley didn’t need saving in his career, asking what kind of person Foley would be today if they had tried to stop him from doing the dangerous things he did in his career. The GM says that, sometimes, he wishes someone would have stopped him. Foley then tells Sami that Braun Strowman is looking to end Sami’s career and he will put Zayn against anyone else on the roster, but he will not put him against Strowman because Strowman will end his career. However, Sami doesn’t back down, saying that Foley is telling him that he “can’t do it” and the GM agrees, telling Zayn that he can’t do it. Sami then says that his “childhood hero” and his boss doesn’t believe in him, saying that, if Foley doesn’t want to give him the opportunities that he rightfully deserves on RAW, then maybe he doesn’t need to be on RAW anymore! The GM says that, if Sami really means that, then he will call SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan right now and “work out a trade”! Sami then exits, leaving a lot of questions regarding his future. In Cruiserweight action, “The Golden Lynx” Lince Dorado would go one-on-one with Ariya Daivari on RAW. During the match, with Ariya Daivari in control, Jack Gallagher would come out to the stage. After being attacked by Daivari after their match last week, Gallagher would say that, as an “extraordinary gentleman”, he would like to announce his intentions of interfering in this match. Gallagher then explains that he normally doesn’t condone such behavior, saying that he is making an exception for Daivari because Daivari is a “scoundrel”. Gallagher then states that he is there to give Daivari a “thorough thrashing” and this is when Daivari would abandon his match, exiting the ring as Gallagher and Daivari brawl on the outside. The fight would enter the ring where Gallagher would score with a headbutt, following it up with a dropkick, sending Daivari to the outside. Before he faces Chris Jericho at Roadblock: End of the Line this Sunday night, Seth Rollins was on RAW to host his returning talk show segment, The Rollins Report and his guest would be one of his bitter rivals, WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens! Before bringing out his guest, Seth Rollins again proclaims that he wants Triple H, saying that his “path to redemption” leads to Triple H, but it goes directly through Kevin Owens and the WWE Universal Championship. Rollins then says that he can’t get to Kevin Owens until he takes care of Owens’ maybe best friend Chris Jericho. Seth says that he needs to know if his match against Chris Jericho this Sunday at Roadblock: End of the Line is going to have Owens in the corner of Chris Jericho. Rollins then introduces his guest and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens comes out to the stage, but the champion opts to get his own stool and stay seated on the stage. Seth asks Owens if he can’t make it to the ring without having Chris Jericho to hold his hand and Owens says that he doesn’t care about the Rollins Report and the only reason he came out there is because he has an announcement to make. Seth Rollins then asks Kevin Owens how his friendship with Chris Jericho is and, while the champion tries to ignore the question, Rollins continues to press the issue, reminding Owens that he delivered a Pedigree to Owens last week and Owens would also cost Jericho the United States Title later that same night. Owens tells Rollins that Seth doesn’t need to worry about his friendship with Chris Jericho, assuring Rollins that Jericho will have his back when he defends the WWE Universal Title against Roman Reigns this Sunday and he will have Jericho’s back in Jericho’s match against Rollins. The champion then says that Rollins is lucky that his announcement means more to him than fighting Rollins before Owens reveals that, after talking to Stephanie McMahon, The New Day will have to defend their RAW Tag Team Titles for a second time tonight and they will be defending the titles against the team of Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho! However, this brings Chris Jericho out to the stage as Jericho asks Kevin Owens if he is “crazy”, reminding Owens that Owens cost him the United States Title last week and told him to “shut up” two weeks ago. Jericho then asks Owens if he really thinks that, after all of that, he would agree to team up with Owens tonight or any other night. The WWE Universal Champion says that Jericho has got to stop thinking about the “past” and think about the “future”, saying that they have the chance to “ruin” The New Day’s quest to become the longest reigning tag team champions of all-time. Owens then says that Jericho can think about it all he wants, but he already talked to Stephanie and the match is going to happen regardless before saying that Jericho could stay mad at him and that would do them no good or they could get on the same page and win the RAW Tag Team Titles tonight. Seth Rollins then interjects, saying that he doesn’t think that Owens should be pushing Jericho around like that before Jericho tells Rollins that this isn’t any of his business. Seth then asks if Jericho is going to put him on the List of Jericho or come fight him. However, instead of putting Rollins on the List of Jericho, he instead vows to put Rollins on the “disabled list”. Jericho then makes his way towards the ring before being joined by Kevin Owens as the two friends appear to be back on the same page as they surround the ring before Jericho attacks Seth Rollins from behind. Owens and Jericho then pull Rollins out of the ring, beating Seth down and tossing Rollins into the barricade, continuing to pummel Seth. Owens and Jericho then roll Rollins into the ring but before any further damage can be done, Roman Reigns makes the save, rushing to the ring. However, the two-on-one advantage would overwhelm the United States Champion before Seth Rollins jumps back into the fray as Reigns and Rollins work together to take Owens out, sending the WWE Universal Champion out of the ring. Rollins then looks for the Pedigree to Jericho, but Owens pulls Jericho out of the ring, saving his best friend from Seth Rollins for the time being. Following a brawl involving himself, The Brian Kendrick, and T.J. Perkins broke out following the Cruiserweight Title match on last week’s 205 Live, Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann was informed that he would be defending the Cruiserweight Title at Roadblock: End of the Line against both T.J. Perkins and The Brian Kendrick in a Triple Threat Match. The champion responds by saying that it doesn’t matter who he faces for the Cruiserweight Title before the interview is interrupted by The Brian Kendrick. Kendrick says that, if it wasn’t for T.J. Perkins, he would be the Cruiserweight Champion right now, saying that Perkins “weaseled” his way into the title match this Sunday. This brings Perkins into the conversation as Perkins asks Kendrick if he is going to try and get Swann to let him win at Roadblock: End of the Line. Swann responds by saying that Kendrick thinks that Perkins is going to stab him in the back to get the title back and Kendrick agrees. Perkins then says that he might just do whatever it takes to regain the Cruiserweight Title, saying that Rich Swann can find out on Sunday but The Brian Kendrick can find out right now. Before they both challenge Rich Swann for the Cruiserweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match this Sunday at Roadblock: End of the Line, T.J. Perkins would go one-on-one with The Brian Kendrick on RAW. In the end, it was The Brian Kendrick surviving the knee bar before sending T.J. Perkins shoulder-first into the ring post, following it up with Sliced Bread #2, pinning TJP for the win. Backstage, RAW General Manager Mick Foley confronts Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and, despite both Rollins and Reigns expressing their desire to focus on their own paths heading into Roadblock: End of the Line this Sunday, the GM makes the huge announcement that the main event match for the RAW Tag Team Titles will now be a Triple Threat Tag Match as The New Day will have to defend the tag titles against not only Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho but Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns as well! The women were in action on RAW as Bayley would bring “hug life” to Philadelphia as she would go one-on-one with Alicia Fox in a rematch from last week. In the end, it was Bayley scoring with the Bayley-to-Belly, pinning Alicia Fox for the win. After orchestrating a hotel room assault on Enzo Amore last week, “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev and his wife Lana would make an appearance on RAW. Rusev says that, ever since he got here, he has destroyed every one of their “American heroes” but, last week, he took out “American trash” in the form of Enzo Amore. Rusev then says that he found out last week that the “G” in “Certified G” stands for “garbage”, saying that, after he took out the human garbage last week, he and Lana “took care of business”. Rusev offers to let the fans see what they do behind closed doors before Lana warns that what they are about to see might be too “sensitive” for the children in the audience. Rusev & Lana then show Rusev’s assault on Enzo Amore in their hotel room last week, much to the dismay of the fans in attendance. Lana then says that watching that footage “warms” her heart before calling the fans “gullible”. Lana then says that Enzo Amore actually thought he had a shot with her, calling Enzo “pathetic” just like the fans. Rusev then says that Lana set a plan in motion to trap the “little mouse” and, when the time was right, he squashed Enzo in the hotel room. Rusev then declares that he is the only man that can have Lana and, if anyone disrespects him or Lana, he will “crush” them like he crushed Enzo. This brings Big Cass out to the stage as Cass says that Enzo Amore is at home recovering from being assaulted last week. Big Cass then says that Enzo likes to run his mouth but at least Enzo has the “balls” to back it up, saying that Enzo got caught with his “pants down” last week before saying that this isn’t a hotel room and he’s not Enzo. With that, Big Cass marches down to the ring as a fight breaks out between Rusev and Big Cass with both big men trading shots before the fight spills out of the ring. Rusev then catches Big Cass with a boot to the head before trying to walk away from the fight, but Big Cass wasn’t finished with “The Bulgarian Brute”, continuing to pummel Rusev until Rusev sends Big Cass into the ring post. This gives Rusev the chance to create distance between himself and Big Cass as Rusev retreats while Big Cass stands tall. After threatening to go to SmackDown LIVE after being denied a match against Braun Strowman, Sami Zayn would compete in what could be his final match on RAW as Sami would go one-on-one with Jinder Mahal. In the end, it was Sami Zayn scoring with the Helluva Kick to Jinder Mahal, pinning Jinder to pick up the win. After the match, RAW General Manager Mick Foley would make his way to the ring to confront Sami Zayn. The GM informs Sami Zayn that he just got off of the phone with SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan and, while it took some negotiating, they have agreed to trade Sami to SmackDown LIVE for a talent of equal value! Foley then says that all Sami has to do now is sign the paperwork to make it official, asking Sami if this is truly what he wants. Sami says that it depends on one thing, again asking Foley if he is going to give him a match against Braun Strowman or not. The GM says that they both know that, deep down, Sami doesn’t want a match with Braun Strowman before saying that his answer is no. Zayn says that it’s settled then, saying that he will sign whatever Foley needs him to sign. However, the GM doesn’t hand over the paperwork, saying that it’s going to be nice for Sami to be a “big fish” in a “small pond”. Foley then says that, before he signs the paperwork, doesn’t Sami want to know who RAW is receiving in exchange for Sami getting sent to SmackDown LIVE? The GM then looks Zayn in the face as Foley tells Sami that he and Daniel Bryan agreed to trade Sami Zayn to SmackDown LIVE in exchange for Eva Marie! This lights a fire under Sami Zayn as Sami tells the GM that he’s worth “a thousand Eva Maries” and, of all people, Mick Foley doesn’t get him, saying that Foley used to be him. Zayn then says that he don’t know how many people told Mick “no” and, now, Foley is treating him like he’s “made of glass” and he is sick of paying for Mick’s “mistakes”. The GM responds by asking if this is what Sami wanted and Zayn says that this is not what he wanted. Foley then asks what Sami does want and Zayn screams at the GM that he wants Braun Strowman. Foley yells back that Sami doesn’t want Braun Strowman, asking how badly does Sami want Braun Strowman. Sami responds by nearly knocking Foley off of his feet with the intensity of his demands. The GM stays right in Sami’s face, saying that what he wants Sami to remember this moment in time and remember the rage that dwells inside him and use it. Foley then says that Sami is going to need it this Sunday night when he faces Braun Strowman at Roadblock: End of the Line! The crafty GM then pulls the paper out of his folder, revealing that it was just a blank sheet of paper all along, saying that there was “never a trade”! Foley explains that he wouldn’t trade Sami Zayn from RAW for anyone, saying that he believes in Sami Zayn and he always has. The GM continues, saying that he had to know if a “nice guy” like Zayn had it within him to tap into the darker side of himself in order to survive a monster like Braun Strowman and the answer Sami gave him tonight was a resounding “yes”. Foley then says that he is giving Sami “ten minutes” this Sunday to prove to him, prove to Stephanie McMahon, and prove to the world why they should “believe in Sami Zayn”! After inadvertently drenching Stephanie McMahon in champagne during their celebration earlier in the night, Stephanie and Mick Foley would make sure that The New Day would pay for their actions as the main event of RAW would see The New Day’s Big E & Xavier Woods, with Kofi Kingston in their corner, face the toughest title defense of their historic reign as they defend the gold against best friends Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho and former Shield teammates Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns in a Triple Threat Tag Match. During the chaotic match, Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho would set Xavier Woods up for a double superplex before Seth Rollins joins the fray. This brings Big E and Roman Reigns into the ring as the two powerhouses get underneath the mass of humanity, delivering simultaneous powerbombs to Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho who, in turn, superplex Xavier Woods and Seth Rollins! Later on in the match, Seth Rollins dives to the outside, taking out Big E & Xavier Woods as, in the ring, Roman Reigns nearly puts Chris Jericho away with his sitout powerbomb. The United States Champion then knocks Kevin Owens off of the ring apron with the Superman Punch before Jericho tries to roll Reigns up, but Roman kicks out. Reigns then avoids the Walls of Jericho before Xavier Woods tags himself into the match, hitting his elbow drop off of the top rope, but Reigns manages to kick out again. Rollins then tags himself into the match and, as Reigns holds Woods up, Rollins catches Xavier with a knee to the head before Kevin Owens comes in, taking Reigns out with a super kick. Rollins then takes Owens out with a super kick of his own, leaving it down to just Seth Rollins and Xavier Woods in the ring. Seth then climbs to the top rope, but Jericho knocks Rollins off of his perch before Owens squashes Rollins in the corner with the Cannonball. Jericho then hits the Lionsault on Xavier Woods, but Woods is able to kick out at the last second! Jericho then locks in the Walls of Jericho on Xavier with Woods managing to counter into a roll-up, nearly putting Jericho away. Owens then comes in with a super kick to Xavier before Owens propels Xavier up for the Pop-Up Codebreaker! Then, with defeat all but a certainty, Seth Rollins would keep the match alive by shoving Kevin Owens down as Owens falls into Chris Jericho, breaking up the pinfall! This results in an argument between Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho and Rollins is quick to take advantage, delivering the Pedigree to Chris Jericho, but this is when Big E would pull Seth Rollins out of the ring as Xavier Woods is somehow able to drape his arm over Jericho, securing the three-count to successfully retain the RAW Tag Team Titles in an absolutely incredible match worthy of the historic record for The New Day as, against all odds, they have ensured that they will go down in the history books as the longest reigning tag team champions of all-time! As The New Day celebrate the biggest win of their title reign, there were clearly some major problems in the ring as Kevin Owens confronts Chris Jericho as they bicker over whose fault it is that they failed to win the tag titles. Jericho insists that their friendship and their partnership is over with Kevin Owens pleading with Jericho to reconsider. Jericho then leaves the ring but not before telling the WWE Universal Champion that he should turn around and, when Kevin Owens does so, he is met by Roman Reigns, who levels Kevin Owens with the Spear! Roman then picks up the WWE Universal Title as well as the United States Title, holding both belts high above his head in what could very well be a sign of things to come this Sunday night at Roadblock: End of the Line.
