WWE RAW Results: November 21, 2016By Cassidy| November 22, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results One night after completely dominating and defeating Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes at Survivor Series, RAW kicks off with the triumphant and iconic Goldberg. Goldberg first thanks the fans, saying that they have allowed him to come back and be Goldberg and in the limelight that he yearns for. Goldberg then says that, most importantly, he wants to thank his wife because he can be very “moody” when he’s training. Goldberg then thanks his son for giving him the ability and desire to be a “superhero” again. Goldberg continues, saying that he did exactly what he said he was going to do when he “conquered” Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Goldberg then says that there is a reality in life that “all good things must come to an end”. However, Goldberg then reveals that, after his match last night, he ran into RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon backstage and Stephanie looked him right in the eyes and asked if he has “one more title run” left in him! Goldberg then declares that “you bet your ass” he’s got one more title run left in him! Goldberg then reveals that Stephanie told him that the road to a title match goes through the Royal Rumble before Goldberg makes the blockbuster announcement that, in the 2017 Royal Rumble Match, “everyone is next”, officially entering his name into the Royal Rumble Match in January where the winner will earn a title shot at WrestleMania! After Cesaro & Sheamus were the sole survivors for Team RAW in the Tag Team Traditional 10-on-10 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match at Survivor Series, they would be rewarded with a title shot as the opening match of the night would see Cesaro & Sheamus challenge The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, for the RAW Tag Team Titles. During the match, Kofi Kingston would go for Trouble in Paradise, but Cesaro would catch Kofi, spinning Kingston around in the Cesaro Swing before locking in the Sharpshooter. Big E would try to help Kofi get to the ropes, but Sheamus would intervene, blasting Big E with the Brogue Kick on the outside. This is when Xavier Woods would get on the ring apron, distracting the referee just as Kofi Kingston taps out. Cesaro then breaks the hold to get Xavier off of the apron before Sheamus stalks Woods on the outside, keeping Xavier at bay. Meanwhile, Kofi surprises Cesaro with a roll-up and, with Xavier keeping Sheamus from entering the ring, Kingston would score the three-count as, by hook or by crook, The New Day successfully retains the RAW Tag Team Titles, keeping their record reign intact. In Cruiserweight action, Cedric Alexander would go one-on-one with Ariya Daivari on RAW. During the match, Ariya Daivari would knock Cedric Alexander off of the top rope as Alexander’s neck would bounce awkwardly off of the top rope, but Cedric would continue to fight in the match. In the end, it was Cedric Alexander hitting the Lumbar Check, pinning Ariya Daivari to pick up the win. After his List of Jericho was used by Kevin Owens as a weapon during the Men’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match between Team RAW and Team SmackDown LIVE and the contents of the list were scattered all over the ring, Chris Jericho would appear on RAW to host The Highlight Reel. Jericho says that he is calling this Highlight Reel the “autopsy to the biggest upset in Survivor Series history” when Team RAW was beaten by Team SmackDown LIVE. Jericho then says that when a “tragedy” like this takes place, people want to know “why” it happened and who is at fault. Jericho is then interrupted by his best friend and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, who used the List of Jericho as a weapon at Survivor Series. The champion says that he knows who is at blame for the loss at Survivor Series, asking for permission to use the Jeritron 6500 before showing a picture from the match at Survivor Series that shows AJ Styles nearly hitting the Styles Clash on Chris Jericho. Owens then shows him using the List of Jericho against AJ Styles, saying that he “saved” Jericho from the Styles Clash because he’s his best friend. Chris Jericho says that, if Kevin Owens is really his best friend, then Owens would understand how important the List of Jericho is to him, saying that the list is not to be used as a “weapon”. The champion then blurts out “who cares?” at Jericho, who responds by saying “I care”, saying that the List of Jericho means everything to him. Owens argues that he “sacrificed” himself for Jericho at Survivor Series by saving him from the Styles Clash and, instead of capitalizing on it, Jericho was too preoccupied with the List of Jericho and would turn right around into the RKO from Randy Orton. Owens continues, saying that it was a “waste” of his sacrifice and it was a “waste” of their friendship! Jericho responds by saying that, if that’s how Owens really feels, then maybe they don’t have much of a friendship to begin with. Jericho continues, telling Owens that he’s “never there” to have his back before declaring that he’s finished with this conversation and he’s “finished” with Kevin Owens! The champion then turns Jericho around and, at the same time, Owens and Jericho say that it’s Roman Reigns’ fault before the two best friends hug! Kevin Owens then says that Roman Reigns just stood there while Chris Jericho was about to get hit with the Styles Clash so he had to step in and save Jericho. The champion then also blames Seth Rollins, saying it was Rollins and Reigns fault that they lost at Survivor Series. This brings Seth Rollins out to the ring, saying that he was promised a future opportunity if he agreed to be a part of Team RAW at Survivor Series. Rollins then says that the “future is now” and the opportunity he wants is a one-on-one match against Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Title and he wants it tonight! Jericho says that they don’t believe anything Seth Rollins has to say before Rollins assures Owens that he will beat him for the title. Rollins then says that, since Owens and Jericho are “joined at the hip”, he’s going to have to go through both of them to do it! Seth then attacks Owens and Jericho but Rollins is quickly overwhelmed by the best friends before Roman Reigns makes the save. Roman takes Jericho out at ringside before Rollins takes Owens out inside the ring. Owens then escapes the ring before Jericho enters the ring before getting taken down with the Superman Punch. This brings out RAW General Manager Mick Foley who confirms that Rollins was indeed promised a future title opportunity. The GM then announces that, in a match where both Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns are banned from ringside, Seth Rollins will challenge Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Title in a No Disqualification match and it will take place tonight! Following an awkward encounter between Enzo Amore and his wife Lana earlier in the night, an angry Rusev would go one-on-one with Enzo Amore, with Big Cass in his corner, on RAW. Rusev would make quick work of Enzo Amore, locking in the Accolade, making Enzo tap out to pick up an impressive win. Rusev then makes a quick exit from the ring as Big Cass does not take his eyes off of “The Bulgarian Brute”. With a match for the RAW Tag Team Titles on the line against The New Day on next week’s RAW on the line, Gallows & Anderson would face The Golden Truth on RAW. In the end, it was Gallows & Anderson hitting Goldust with the Magic Killer as Luke Gallows pins Goldust to pick up the win to earn Gallows & Anderson another shot at the RAW Tag Team Titles next week. After failing to bring the Intercontinental Championship to RAW in his title match against SmackDown LIVE’s The Miz at Survivor Series, Sami Zayn’s punishment was set to be carried out on RAW in a one-on-one match against Braun Strowman. However, the monstrous Braun Strowman would blindside Sami Zayn before Sami can even get to the ring. Braun tosses Sami into the barricade before hurling Zayn into the ring as the match officially gets underway. While Sami would get a kick in on Braun Strowman, the majority of the match would see Braun absolutely maul a near motionless Sami Zayn. Strowman would then put Sami in the tree of woe in the corner and this is when RAW General Manager Mick Foley would come out to the stage, ordering the referee to stop the match since Zayn is unable to defend himself. After she and Bayley were the sole survivors for Team RAW in the Women’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match at Survivor Series only for Charlotte to attack Bayley after the match, RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte and her protégé Dana Brooke would make an appearance on RAW. Charlotte says that she “rules the ring”, saying that she no longer has to team with those “peasants” on Team RAW. The champion is then interrupted by the former champion as “The Boss” Sasha Banks makes her way to the ring to confront Charlotte. Sasha reminds Charlotte that she is still owed a rematch for the RAW Women’s Title, saying that she wants her rematch “right here, right now”. Surprisingly, the champion agrees to the rematch before saying that the rematch isn’t going to happen tonight, saying that next week’s RAW is in her hometown of Charlotte. Charlotte then says that she beat Sasha in Sasha’s hometown and, next week, she gets to beat Sasha in her own hometown. This brings out Nia Jax, who says she’s not out there for Charlotte, she’s out there for Sasha. Nia says that she “dominated” Team SmackDown LIVE, but Sasha didn’t before calling Sasha an “overrated, purple-headed Barbie doll”. Sasha responds by saying that, after she gets her title back, she will show Nia just how “overrated” she is. Nia then says that, when you stand next to her, Sasha is not “The Boss”. Dana Brooke then decides to taunt Sasha and “The Boss” would respond by blasting Dana with a right hand. This is when Nia would attack Sasha from behind as Nia holds Sasha Banks for Charlotte. Bayley would then come out to make the save as Nia tosses Sasha out of the ring and knocks Bayley off of the ring apron. This would lead to an impromptu tag match as “The Boss” Sasha Banks would team with Bayley to face RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte and Nia Jax, with Dana Brooke in their corner. During the match, Sasha Banks and Bayley work together to suplex Nia Jax before Charlotte twice tries to roll-up Sasha, but “The Boss” counters, locking in the Bank Statement, making the RAW Women’s Champion tap out to pick up the win for herself and Bayley. A new #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Championship would then be determined on RAW as, with Cruiserweight Champion The Brian Kendrick a guest on commentary, Rich Swann, Noam Dar, and former champion T.J. Perkins would face off in a Triple Threat Match with the winner challenging The Brian Kendrick on the premiere of 205 Live next Tuesday. In the end, it was Rich Swann catching T.J. Perkins with a kick to the head, pinning TJP to become the #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Title, earning his shot at the title on the premiere of 205 Live. Then it was time for the big main event as Seth Rollins would challenge Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship a No Disqualification Match with both Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns banned from ringside. It wouldn’t take long for the competitors to take advantage of the No Disqualification rule as Seth Rollins pulls a table out from under the ring, sliding it into the ring. However, Kevin Owens would take Rollins down before sliding the table back out of the ring. The champion then grabs a couple of steel chairs, planting the challenger with a DDT on a chair before wearing Rollins out with chair shots to the back. Rollins would manage to battle back, planting Owens face-first on an open steel chair, but failing to score the three-count. The champion then fights back as Kevin Owens picks Seth Rollins, driving Rollins through the table before hitting a Cannonball on Rollins on the outside. Back in the ring, Owens and Rollins would go shot-for-shot with both men laying each other out. Rollins then goes for the frog splash, but the champion moves out of the way before placing a steel chair in front of Rollins in the corner, hitting a Cannonball, driving the chair into the face of the challenger. Owens then opens up two steel chairs in the middle of the ring, but it is Rollins who uses the chairs, backdropping the champion onto the steel, but Owens is still able to kick out. The challenger then gets another table out from under the ring, propping the table up in the corner. Owens then tries to catch Rollins off-guard with a roll-up, but Rollins counters before catching the champion with a kick to the face. Seth then climbs to the top rope, but Owens grabs the challenger with his sights set on a superplex. However, Rollins would counter, launching the champion with a huge powerbomb through the table in the opposite corner, but Owens is somehow able to kick out! Kevin Owens then tries his best to escape through the crowd, but Seth Rollins would continue to pursue the champion, tossing Owens into a metal trash can before hitting the champion with the trash can. Owens then catches Rollins with a kick to the mid-section, looking for the powerbomb on the concrete floor. However, Rollins is able to catch himself on the barricade before the challenger climbs into the stands, diving out of the stands onto Kevin Owens, sacrificing himself to take out the champion! The battle then returns to the ringside area where Rollins is about to dive off of the barricade, but this is when someone dressed as a fan in a Sin Cara mask would attack the challenger! Rollins would then brawl with the individual before, in the midst of the fight, the mask would be ripped off to reveal that it was Chris Jericho, who was banned from ringside for the title match! Jericho then tries to dive onto Seth Rollins, but Rollins counters, planting Jericho with the Pedigree on the arena floor. Owens then takes advantage of the distraction caused by his best friend, catching Rollins with a super kick before delivering a powerbomb to Seth on the ring apron! Owens then rolls Rollins into the ring, scoring the three-count to successfully retain the WWE Universal Title thanks to the illegal interference of Chris Jericho. After the match, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho would celebrate Kevin Owens’ successful title defense as referees check on Seth Rollins with Owens proudly holding up the WWE Universal Title.
