WWE RAW Results: October 31, 2016By Cassidy| November 1, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results The Halloween edition of RAW kicks off with the man who will square off with “The Beast” Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in three weeks as former two-time World Champion Goldberg makes his way to the ring. However, Goldberg would barely get a sentence out before he is interrupted by Brock Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, who makes his way to the ring, saying that he has all the “respect” in the world for Goldberg and his abilities. As he cautiously enters the ring to confront Goldberg, Heyman says that Goldberg doesn’t think that he came there without “significant backup”. Heyman says that he is probably going to make Goldberg, his fans, and his family “very happy” right now because his client is an “impatient beast”. Heyman continues, saying that Goldberg has a 1-0 streak against Brock Lesnar, but Brock conquers “streaks”, telling Goldberg to just ask The Undertaker about that. The advocate then says that his client has decided to not wait until Survivor Series because Brock Lesnar wants to face Goldberg right here right now. With Goldberg clearly ready for a fight, Paul Heyman introduces Brock Lesnar and, while Brock’s music plays, Goldberg is all but ready to battle “The Beast” as Heyman tries to hide his laughter in the corner. Paul Heyman then reveals his ruse, laughing at Goldberg and his family, saying that the “disappointment” on his son’s face is nothing compared to the disappointment he will feel when Goldberg is “conquered” by Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. However, the brazen Paul Heyman is quick to notice the rage and agitation written on the face of Goldberg as the advocate backs away from the former World Champion, trying to beg off a beating from Goldberg. Once Heyman is backed into a corner, “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev unexpectedly makes his way to the ring. Rusev asks Goldberg who he thinks he is, saying that Goldberg thinks he is some kind of “superhero”, but there is “no such thing” as superheroes. Rusev says that he used to watch Goldberg back in his WCW days, asking if Goldberg has the “heart” to keep fighting, saying that he doesn’t think Goldberg has that. Rusev says that Brock Lesnar is not here, but he is and he sees the fear in Goldberg’s eyes, saying that Goldberg is “weak” and what he does to weak people is “crush” them. Rusev then hits Goldberg with a right hand before trying to take the former World Champion down, but Goldberg stands his ground, picking “The Bulgarian Brute” up and planting Rusev with the Jackhammer! The explosive Goldberg then turns around and nearly breaks Paul Heyman in half with the Spear! After Gallows & Anderson defeated Enzo & Big Cass at WWE Hell in a Cell, Enzo Amore, with Big Cass in his corner, would face Luke Gallows, with Karl Anderson in his corner, in a unique, Halloween themed Trick or Street Fight, where several Halloween themed items would surround the ring, including Jack O’Lanterns and skeletons, with traditional Street Fight rules, meaning no disqualifications and no count-outs. Early on in the unusual matchup, Enzo Amore would utilize a skeleton to get the better of Luke Gallows before Gallows battles back, dumping pumpkin innards on Enzo. Back in the ring, Gallows use a candy corn kendo stick to wear Enzo down before Enzo fights back, dropping Gallows face-first on the kendo stick. Karl Anderson then gets on the ring apron, but gets a pie to the face for his troubles before Big Cass blasts Anderson with a big boot, knocking Anderson off of the ring apron through a table at ringside! Meanwhile, in the ring, Enzo catches Gallows with a low blow before Big Cass puts a large Jack O’Lantern on Gallows’ head. Enzo then dives off of the top rope with the DDG to Gallows on the pumpkin, pinning Gallows for the win. After feigning an injury at WWE Hell in a Cell to sucker T.J. Perkins in, trapping Perkins in the Captain’s Hook to ultimately win the Cruiserweight Title, the brand new Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick would put the title on the line against former champion T.J. Perkins in a rematch on RAW. During the match, T.J. Perkins hits a vicious hurrincanrana to Brian Kendrick to the outside and, while TJP makes it back into the ring before the ten-count, Kendrick decides to get himself intentionally counted out. As a result, Brian Kendrick keeps the Cruiserweight Title, but this would send T.J. Perkins over the edge as the former champion attacks Kendrick after the match, locking in the knee bar on the champion on the outside before having to be pulled off of Kendrick. Following WWE Hell in a Cell where Chris Jericho found his way into the Hell in a Cell structure to help Kevin Owens beat Seth Rollins to keep the WWE Universal Title, RAW General Manager Mick Foley would make an appearance on RAW to address the situation. After saying that the conclusion to the Hell in a Cell match for the WWE Universal Championship left him with a “bad taste” in his mouth, the GM is interrupted by WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens and his best friend Chris Jericho. The champion says that Chris Jericho “outsmarted” Foley and everyone else by getting into the Cell before saying that he “made history” at WWE Hell in a Cell by becoming the first man to successfully retain the WWE Universal Title in a Hell in a Cell match. Jericho then says that the GM should be thanking them because they proved their value as a team at WWE Hell in a Cell and that is why Foley needs them to “anchor” Team RAW at Survivor Series. The GM admits that he needs them both on Team RAW before Owens repeats that Foley does “need” them, calling himself and Jericho the “top two guys” on RAW. The champion then says that Foley is “jealous” of him because he walked out of his first Hell in a Cell match as the “winner” while Foley made a name for himself in Hell in a Cell matches by being a “giant loser”. Jericho then adds that the final Hell in a Cell match of Mick Foley’s career took place right here in Hartford. Mick Foley then gets in the face of the WWE Universal Champion, shouting at Kevin Owens that he walked out a winner at WWE Hell in a Cell but he could have walked out a “legend” if he would have won it on his own. The GM then says that Owens and Jericho made a “mockery” of Hell in a Cell before revealing that RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon wanted Kevin Owens on the Survivor Series team, but not Chris Jericho. Foley then says that he convinced Stephanie that they needed Jericho on the team before the GM reveals that he needs them both, but he needs another guy and he needs “the guy”, bringing out United States Champion Roman Reigns, who makes his way to the ring. As the crowd in Hartford chants “Roman sucks”, Reigns thanks Foley for the vote of confidence before saying that he was going to dress up as a “stupid idiot” for Halloween but they were all out of Chris Jericho costumes. Jericho responds by saying that he is not going to put Roman or anyone in the crowd on the list because they don’t “deserve” to be on the List of Jericho. Jericho then says that Reigns doesn’t deserve to be the United States Champion, saying that he’s from Canada so he doesn’t care about the United States and he doesn’t like anybody in the United States, but he’d still be a better United States Champion than Roman Reigns. Jericho continues, saying that he would take the United States Title from Roman Reigns tonight if he wanted to, but Reigns is probably too “hurt” from his Hell in a Cell match against Rusev. Roman admits that his body hurts, but he’d never pass up the opportunity to shut Chris Jericho up. Mick Foley then makes the match official, announcing that Roman Reigns will defend the United States Title against Chris Jericho later tonight! With Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, & Roman Reigns already announced for Team RAW in the Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match against Team SmackDown LIVE at Survivor Series, the fourth member of Team RAW would be determined in a battle royal on RAW as Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Sheamus, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, R-Truth, Goldust, Darren Young, Titus O’Neil, Neville, Jinder Mahal, and Braun Strowman would all compete with the last man in the match getting a spot on the team. Easily the largest and most dominant competitor in the match, Braun Strowman would be the first to score an elimination, sending R-Truth over the top rope to the outside, following it up by eliminating Bo Dallas. Neville and Cesaro would then work together to try and take out the big man as Neville would try to hobble Strowman with kicks to Braun’s legs before Cesaro catches Strowman with an uppercut. Sami Zayn then blasts Strowman with the Helluva Kick, but Braun stays on his feet until Sheamus catches Strowman with the Brogue Kick. However, while the Brogue Kick would knock Strowman to the outside, Braun would go through the ropes, meaning that he was not eliminated. Cesaro then uses an uppercut to eliminate Jinder Mahal before Sheamus saves Cesaro from getting eliminated by eliminating Darren Young! Braun Strowman then tosses Curtis Axel out before Sami Zayn eliminates Titus O’Neil. As Strowman turns his focus to Sami Zayn, Cesaro eliminates Goldust and this is when Sheamus would try to catch Cesaro off-guard, trying to eliminate his own tag team partner before Cesaro counters, eliminating Sheamus from the match! There would be no time to celebrate for Cesaro, however, as Braun Strowman eliminates Cesaro. As Cesaro and Sheamus argue all the way to the back, it comes down to Neville, Sami Zayn, and Braun Strowman in the battle royal before Strowman eliminates Neville with relative ease. It then comes down to the two rivals, Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman, as Sami tries his best to topple his larger opponent. Braun would seemingly get the better of Sami, but when Strowman tries to eliminate Zayn, Sami would nearly eliminate the mountainous Braun Strowman. However, Braun’s size and power would prove too much for Sami Zayn as Strowman eliminates Zayn to win the battle royal, becoming the fourth member of Team RAW at Survivor Series. In Cruiserweight action, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, & Lince Dorado would face Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, & Ariya Daivari in a 6-Man Tag match on RAW. In the end, it was Rich Swann catching Tony Nese with a kick to the head before rolling Nese up to pick up the win for his team. After trying to end the career of Sasha Banks outside and inside Hell in a Cell to ultimately win her third RAW Women’s Title at WWE Hell in a Cell, the new RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte would address her title victory on RAW. Charlotte says that the biggest mistake of Sasha’s career was getting off of the stretcher at WWE Hell in a Cell, telling Sasha that there is “nothing wrong with losing”. The new champion continues, saying that Sasha pushed her to her “limits” before telling the crowd to “learn to love it”. Charlotte then reveals that she is the team captain of Team RAW in the Women’s Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match against Team SmackDown LIVE. The champion then addresses the captain of Team SmackDown LIVE, Nikki Bella, saying that she put Nikki Bella on the shelf for a year and, if Nikki gets in her way, she will put Nikki on the shelf “forever”. Charlotte continues, saying that she’s the champion and that makes her the “best” in the women’s division. The RAW Women’s Champion then says that RAW General Manager Mick Foley has put a “weak link” on Team RAW, revealing that Bayley will also be on the team. Charlotte then asks for Bayley to come to the ring and Bayley does just that. Bayley says that it made her “emotional” watching Charlotte and Sasha Banks compete inside Hell in a Cell in the main event of WWE Hell in a Cell before congratulating Charlotte on winning the RAW Women’s Title. The champion responds by saying that, while Bayley is “dreaming” of all of this, she is “achieving” all of this. Bayley then says that success has gone to Charlotte’s head before saying that she never wants to be a champion like Charlotte. Charlotte says that Bayley will never be like her, saying that this isn’t NXT anymore before calling Bayley a “glorified man wearing a Halloween costume”. Charlotte then says that they are going to see how tough Bayley is when she faces their Survivor Series teammate. Bayley reminds Charlotte that she beat Charlotte’s protégé Dana Brooke at WWE Hell in a Cell, but Charlotte informs Bayley that their teammate and her opponent tonight is not Dana Brooke as the RAW Women’s Champion brings out the dominant and scary Nia Jax! Before they, along with RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte and two to-be-named Superstars, face SmackDown LIVE’s five best women at Survivor Series, Bayley would go one-on-one with Nia Jax on RAW with RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte, flanked by Dana Brooke, a guest on commentary. During the match, Bayley would do her best to combat her larger opponent, but Nia Jax would prove too much for Bayley. Nia would knock Bayley to the outside before squashing Bayley between herself and the barricade. Nia then rolls Bayley back into the ring, hitting Bayley with a Samoan Drop, pinning Bayley for the win. After their match against The New Day for the RAW Tag Team Titles ended in a disqualification at WWE Hell in a Cell, the dysfunctional team of Cesaro & Sheamus would face The Shining Stars on RAW. In the end, it was Sheamus locking in the Cloverleaf on Epico, making Epico tap out to pick up the win for Cesaro & Sheamus. Then it was time for the main event as, before they, along with WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, Braun Strowman, and a to-be-named fifth competitor, make up Team RAW at Survivor Series, Roman Reigns would defend the United States Championship against Chris Jericho, with WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens in his corner. During the match, Roman Reigns would size Chris Jericho up for the Spear, but Kevin Owens gets on the ring apron and Roman knocks Owens to the floor. Jericho tries to capitalize on the distraction with a roll-up, but Reigns kicks out. Roman then catches Jericho with the Superman Punch before blasting Jericho with the Spear, but before Reigns can secure the three-count, Owens attacks Roman, ending the match in a disqualification. After the match, Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho beat down the United States Champion before Owens & Jericho hit the Pop-Up Codebreaker on Reigns. This brings out Seth Rollins, who takes Kevin Owens out on the outside before hitting the Slingblade on Jericho! Rollins then dives to the outside, taking out the WWE Universal Champion. Back in the ring, Seth Rollins would go for the Pedigree on Chris Jericho, but Owens is able to pull Jericho to safety as Seth stands in the ring, ready to continue the fight. However, Rollins then realizes who he’s sharing the ring with as Seth turns around to lock eyes with Roman Reigns, prompting a “Shield” chant from the crowd. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
