WWE RAW Results: September 12, 2016By Cassidy| September 13, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with RAW General Manager Mick Foley in the ring as the GM gives credit to SmackDown Live for their successful pay-per-view, Backlash, where they crowned the first ever SmackDown Women’s Champion, congratulating new champion Becky Lynch on her victory. The GM then says that he believes that RAW has the “best in women’s wrestling” before Foley brings out RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte, who is accompanied by her protégé Dana Brooke. The champion says that she believes that an “apology” is in order with Dana Brooke saying that Charlotte doesn’t have to apologize for slapping her last week. However, Charlotte says that she would “never” apologize to Dana, saying that it’s Dana who owes her an apology! The RAW Women’s Champion then explains that it’s Dana’s fault that she lost to Bayley last week and that she’s even “petitioning” to have the record books changed to state that Dana lost to Bayley, not her! Charlotte continues, saying that Dana also owes her an apology for making a “fool” of herself last week when she tapped out to Sasha Banks’ Bank Statement, ordering Dana to apologize to her now or their friendship and her “mentorship” is over. Despite already apologizing to Charlotte last week, Dana Brooke would apologize to her mentor again, but, much like last week, the RAW Women’s Champion responds by calling Dana “sorry”. Mick Foley then brings forth the business at hand, saying that, at Clash of Champions, every championship on RAW will be defended, including the RAW Women’s Championship. However, this is when the GM is interrupted by the arrival of “The Boss” Sasha Banks, who says that there is no need for the introduction before telling Charlotte that she is the “face of this women’s division” before getting in the ring and saying that Charlotte is looking at the woman who is going to take the title from Charlotte at Clash of Champions. This brings out the Superstar who beat Charlotte in a non-title match last week, Bayley, who says that she would love to see Sasha face Charlotte for the RAW Women’s Title, but she did beat the champion so she deserves a title shot. Sasha takes offense to this, saying that she appreciates that Bayley had her back at Battleground, but when it comes to the RAW Women’s Title, she has “no friends”, saying that Bayley needs to go to the “back of the line”. Charlotte then interrupts, saying that the only “unfinished business” they have is to continue the “career-ending beating” that she started at SummerSlam. This fires up “The Boss” as Sasha prepares herself to fight the champion right then and there, throwing her jacket in the champion’s face! Charlotte argues that she is the only champion in the ring right now and Sasha doesn’t get to decide when she defends the title. Foley then corrects the RAW Women’s Champion, saying that, while Sasha doesn’t decide when Charlotte defends the title, neither does Charlotte because he is the RAW General Manager so he makes those decisions. The GM then says that Sasha Banks was originally scheduled to face Charlotte for the RAW Women’s Title at Clash of Champions but now he’s having “second thoughts”. Charlotte then says that Bayley thinks that she is the “future” of the women’s division now, putting words in the mouth of “The Boss” by saying that Sasha Banks doesn’t think that Bayley belongs on RAW. Dana Brooke then chimes in, saying that Sasha and Bayley should be fighting over who is “worthy” of a shot at the title, even suggesting a Best of Seven Series between Sasha and Bayley. However, Charlotte doesn’t take too kindly to her protégé speaking on her own as the RAW Women’s Champion tells Dana that she didn’t ask for Dana’s help, saying that, if Dana talks again tonight, she will “slap the taste” out of Dana’s mouth! Foley then announces that Sasha Banks will go one-on-one with Bayley tonight on RAW and the winner of that match will challenge Charlotte for the RAW Women’s Title at Clash of Champions! Upon hearing this announcement, Charlotte immediately takes her frustrations out on her protégé, spinning Dana Brooke around to point her finger at Dana, saying that it’s all her fault, but Dana had enough of the verbal and physical abuse from the champion as Dana slaps her mentor across the face, taking Charlotte off of her feet! Foley then makes the quick decision to add Dana Brooke to the upcoming match, announcing that Dana, Bayley, and Sasha will face off in a Triple Threat Match with the winner facing Charlotte for the RAW Women’s Title at Clash of Champions! With RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte a guest on commentary, the opening match of the night would be a Triple Threat Match between Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Charlotte’s protégé Dana Brooke with the winner facing Charlotte for the RAW Women’s Title at Clash of Champions. During the match, each of the three competitors would give it their all with Sasha Banks visibly having trouble with her previously injured lower back, but “The Boss” would fight through the pain and Sasha would lock in the Bank Statement on Dana Brooke, but just when it looked like Dana was going to tap out, Bayley breaks the hold, keeping the match alive. Bayley would then look to take advantage of the damage done by the Bank Statement, hitting Dana with the Bayley-to-Belly. However, Sasha would break up the pinfall just in time, quickly rolling Bayley up to score the three-count as “The Boss” picks up the win to get her rematch for the RAW Women’s Title in just under two weeks at Clash of Champions! After coming up short in the Triple Threat Match against Sasha Banks and Bayley moments earlier, Dana Brooke confronts RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte backstage, apologizing to her mentor for slapping her earlier. However, Charlotte refused to listen to Dana’s apology, ordering her protégé to get her bags with Dana doing as she’s told. With his new attitude and newfound aggression, Bo Dallas would face local competitor Brandon Scott on RAW. While the local competitor would get a couple of shots in on Bo Dallas, it was Bo emerging victorious following his Roll of the Dice twisting neckbreaker. With RAW General Manager Mick Foley supposedly pulling WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens from his scheduled appearance on The Highlight Reel, Chris Jericho would make his way to the ring for The Highlight Reel with his replacement guest, Sami Zayn. Jericho says that they were supposed to have the greatest Highlight Reel of all-time with Kevin Owens, but that’s not going to happen thanks to Mick Foley. Jericho then says that, instead, his guest is the “lowest of the low”, introducing Kevin Owens’ former friend and rival Sami Zayn. Sami makes his way to the ring, sarcastically thanking Jericho for the introduction with Jericho responding by saying that the introduction was perfect for a “low life” like Sami Zayn. Jericho says that he wants to know why Sami would give up his friendship with Kevin Owens, saying that the problem in the friendship between Owens and Zayn was Sami. Zayn responds by saying that he’s said countless times that he is done with Kevin Owens, but he is interested in what Owens has and that is the WWE Universal Championship, promising that, one day, he will be the WWE Universal Champion. Sami then says that, if Jericho really thinks that Owens is his friend, then Jericho truly is a “stupid idiot”. Jericho says that Sami is just like all of the fans, calling Zayn a “taker” while he is a “giver”, saying that he is going to give them what they “need”. However, Zayn interrupts, saying that Kevin Owens doesn’t care about Jericho and he doesn’t care about the fans because Owens only cares about himself. Chris Jericho responds by accusing Sami Zayn of being “jealous” of Kevin Owens for being “the longest reigning Universal Champion in WWE history” while he is just Sami Zayn. Zayn tells Jericho that one of the reasons that he and Kevin Owens decided to get into the wrestling business was because of guys like Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, and Eddie Guerrero, saying that he has traveled the world for years in the hopes of becoming successful in WWE just like Chris Jericho. Sami continues, saying that Jericho is a six-time former World Champion and the first ever WWE Undisputed Champion but now Jericho has been relegated to being Kevin Owens’ “bitch”! This appears to perplex “Y2J” before Jericho says that, before they got out there, he got a text from Kevin Owens that told him what Sami was going to say. Jericho then took out his phone, making it seem like he was going to read the text message to Zayn, but Jericho would smash his phone on the head of Sami Zayn before dropping Sami with the Codebreaker! Jericho then exits the ring as Sami Zayn comes to in the ring. After scoring his first win in the Best of Seven Series against Sheamus at a WWE Live Event in London last Wednesday, the fifth match in the Best of Seven Series would take place on RAW as “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro, who currently has one win in the Series, would face “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus, who has three wins, meaning that Cesaro must win to remain in the Series. Throughout the match, the story of the match would be the injured back of Cesaro as the injury would keep Cesaro from properly executing the Sharpshooter and the Cesaro Swing, but it would come down to desperation from “The Swiss Superman” as Cesaro would roll Sheamus up and, with the referee’s focus on the shoulders of Sheamus, Cesaro would put his foot on the bottom rope for the illegal leverage, keeping Sheamus down for the three-count and picking up his second win in the Best of Seven Series! Backstage, Seth Rollins confronts RAW General Manager Mick Foley to express his dissatisfaction with the possibility of the WWE Universal Title match becoming a Triple Threat Match at Clash of Champions. However, Rollins would strike a chord with the GM when he refers to Foley as being “in the pocket” of RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. Foley tells Rollins that he can say whatever he wants about him, but never question his “integrity”, wanting Rollins to tell him that he won’t interfere in the main event. Rollins says that he won’t question Foley’s integrity, but if the GM is going to continue to support Stephanie like he has, then Foley is just a “fool”. Following a backstage confrontation last week, the dominant Nia Jax would face her toughest test since arriving on RAW as Nia would go one-on-one with Alicia Fox. During the match, Alicia Fox would do her best to combat her larger opponent, but Nia Jax would overpower Alicia, repeatedly slamming Fox into the ringside barricade before charging full force at Alicia, sending Fox crashing through the barricade! As Nia Jax stands glaring at the broken Alicia Fox, the referee would exit the ring to check on Alicia, joined by additional referees as the referees do their best to check on Alicia while keeping Nia Jax back. Thirteen nights before they defend the RAW Tag Team Titles against Gallows & Anderson at Clash of Champions, RAW Tag Team Champions The New Day would be in action on RAW as The New Day’s Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston, with Big E in their corner, would face Gallows & Anderson in a non-title rematch from SummerSlam. In the end, it was Gallows & Anderson isolating Xavier Woods, hitting Woods with the Magic Killer as Karl Anderson pins Xavier to pick up the win. The self-proclaimed “Man Who Comes In Peace” Jinder Mahal was in action on RAW as Jinder would go one-on-one with “The Real American” Jack Swagger. In the end, it was Jinder Mahal picking up a surprising victory, hitting a straightjacket neckbreaker on Jack Swagger and pinning Swagger for the win. Following his loss to Jinder Mahal, Jack Swagger is interviewed backstage about his RAW contract expiring soon, but “The Real American” has no comment on his contractual status, walking away from the interview. After The Shining Stars used underhanded tactics to beat Enzo & Big Cass on last week’s RAW, this week’s RAW would see Enzo Amore, with Big Cass in his corner, go one-on-one with The Shining Stars’ Epico, with Primo in his corner. During the match, Primo would get on the ring apron and Big Cass would take care of the interference, taking Primo out with a big boot before Enzo Amore dives to the outside, taking out both of The Shining Stars. Enzo would then try to suplex Epico into the ring, but Primo would grab the feet of Enzo with Epico landing on Enzo as Primo holds the feet of Enzo, allowing Epico to pin Enzo for another underhanded victory. Then it was time for the main event as Roman Reigns would go one-on-one with WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens in a non-title match and, if Roman wins, he will be added to the title match at Clash of Champions, making it a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Title. During the match, Kevin Owens would send Roman Reigns shoulder-first into the post on the outside before sending Reigns into the barricade and into the steel steps. However, this is when Seth Rollins would rush out with his sights set on Kevin Owens as a fired up Rollins would attack the WWE Universal Champion, ending the match by disqualification, meaning that Owens wins, thus keeping Roman Reigns out of the title match at Clash of Champions! Clearly letting what Kevin Owens said in the backstage area about Rollins being a “failure” and always needing someone to win matches for him throughout his career get to him, Rollins would relentlessly pummel the champion. This brings out Mick Foley as the GM calls for referees and agents to come out to break up the fight, but Seth Rollins had done his damage. Rollins then smiles, clearly proud of his actions before getting in the face of Mick Foley as Foley screams at Rollins, saying that he told Seth to stay out of the match and he didn’t listen. The GM then tells Rollins that they are going to “have a talk” but Rollins just smiles in the face of Foley, asking what Foley is going to do about it. Agents and referees then escort Seth Rollins to the back as the GM refuses to let the match end in such a fashion, ordering that the match be restarted! At the orders of Mick Foley, the main event match would then restart with Roman Reigns getting a second shot to earn his way into the WWE Universal Title match at Clash of Champions by facing the champion, Kevin Owens. Roman Reigns would look to take full advantage of this second chance, gaining in the advantage in the match and getting Kevin Owens on the top rope, but the champion would battle back, hitting a huge fisherman’s suplex off of the top rope to Reigns, but Roman would kick out! The champion then follows this up with the frog splash to Reigns, but Roman kicks out again. Owens then goes for the Cannonball but Roman moves out of the way before sizing the champion up for the Spear, but Owens responds with a kick to the face before Reigns fires back with the Superman Punch but Owens kicks out! Shortly after this, Owens catches Roman with a super kick before scoring with back-to-back Cannonballs in the corner. Reigns then avoids the Pop-Up Powerbomb before planting the champion with a sitout powerbomb, but Owens kicks out again! This is when United States Champion Rusev would rush down to ringside, getting on the ring apron only to get blasted with the Superman Punch from Roman Reigns. However, the distraction would pay dividends for Kevin Owens as the champion would capitalize, hitting the Pop-Up Powerbomb on Roman Reigns, pinning Roman to pick up the win, ensuring that the WWE Universal Title match remains a one-on-one match between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins! Kevin Owens then exits the ring as Rusev enters, looking to prey on the man who assaulted him back at SummerSlam and ruined his wedding celebration several weeks ago. The United States Champion would do just that, leveling Reigns with a kick to the head before hammering Reigns with vicious right hands as Lana watches from the stage. Rusev then locks the Accolade in on the already weakened Roman Reigns, leaving Reigns broken in the middle of the ring as the United States Champion stands over him.
