Less than two weeks before Backlash, the 889th edition of WWE SmackDown Live came to you, live, from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. After SmackDown Live went off the air last week, there was an intense confrontation between SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan and Intercontinental Champion The Miz on the WWE Network show Talking Smack. On the show, Daniel Bryan called The Miz a “coward” for how he competes in the ring and the Intercontinental Champion fired back with a tirade aimed at the GM, telling Daniel that he’s never been injured and saying that Bryan cannot even compete in WWE anymore. The GM would respond by telling The Miz that, if “they” would let him wrestle again, he would before The Miz shouted at Daniel Bryan that he should leave WWE and go back to the indies. This would result in Daniel Bryan walking off the show as The Miz continued to scream at the GM. Following this confrontation, what else will go down between these two on SmackDown Live?
