WWE RAW Results: August 15, 2016By Cassidy| August 16, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with United States Champion Rusev and his wife Lana in the ring as the couple refuses to leave the ring. Rusev says that, last week, Roman Reigns ruined a “historical event” as they were nowhere near finished with their wedding celebration. The United States Champion then declares that there will be no RAW tonight until Roman Reigns comes down to the ring and “apologizes”. However, Rusev doesn’t get Roman Reigns, he gets RAW General Manager Mick Foley as the GM makes his way down to ringside, urging Rusev to leave the ring. The United States Champion refuses, saying that, when he said that Foley was the “greatest General Manager in the history of mankind” last week, he “lied”, telling Foley “you suck”. Rusev then says that Roman Reigns doesn’t “deserve” a shot at his United States Title at SummerSlam, saying that he deserves “respect”. Rusev continues, saying that Foley isn’t the “real authority” and that RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon is the real authority, demanding that the Commissioner make an appearance. This brings RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon down to the ring as Stephanie and Foley enter the ring to confront Rusev & Lana. Stephanie lets Rusev hear it, telling the United States Champion that he comes out there and demands respect but he has shown no respect to Mick Foley who has given his life and his career for WWE, saying nobody deserves respect more than Mick Foley and she supports all of his decisions as the General Manager. However, Rusev continues to shout at the management of RAW before threatening to give SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon and SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan a call, saying that SmackDown Live will “appreciate” talent. The #1 Contender for Rusev’s United States Title at SummerSlam, Roman Reigns, then makes his way towards the ring, saying that, if an apology will bring an end to this, then so be it. Roman then says that he is “sorry” that Rusev found the website where he found Lana before saying that Rusev and Lana are going to make the “ugliest little sasquatch babies”. As Reigns enters the ring, Rusev calls Roman a “greasy pig”, saying Roman is a “wannabe Superstar”. Roman then says that he doesn’t feel like waiting until SummerSlam for a fight before Stephanie steps in and says that they will have to wait until SummerSlam for their United States Title match. Rusev responds by saying that this is about more than their United States Title match at SummerSlam, this is about his “wife’s honor”. Mick Foley says that, as a married man, he can respect that so, tonight, Rusev will get the chance to defend his wife’s honor when he goes one-on-one with Roman Reigns! After declaring in an in-ring interview that he is “more dominant” than Cesaro and he proved that last week when he cost Cesaro the United States Championship, Sheamus stated that he is moving on from Cesaro. Sheamus then addresses his opponent, Sami Zayn, who he called a “wannabe” version of himself. Sheamus was then in action on RAW as “The Celtic Warrior” would go one-on-one with Sami Zayn with Cesaro sitting in as a guest on commentary. During the match, Cesaro would get a measure of payback against Sheamus as “The Swiss Superman” distracts Sheamus and Sami Zayn would take advantage, blasting Sheamus in the back of the head with the Helluva Kick, pinning Sheamus to pick up the win. Backstage, RAW General Manager Mick Foley and a group of referees struggle to keep the peace between Cesaro and Sheamus as the GM tells the two rivals that they have proven their merit to him. Foley then announces that he is putting Cesaro and Sheamus in a Best of Seven Series as they will compete with each other a series of seven matches to decide which one of them is the best, once and for all! The GM then adds that the first match in the Best of Seven Series will be this Sunday at SummerSlam. Before they defend the WWE Tag Team Titles against Gallows & Anderson at SummerSlam this Sunday night, WWE Tag Team Champions Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston, with Big E still out of action thanks to Gallows & Anderson, would face The Dudley Boyz in a non-title match. During the match, it would again come down to a mistake from D-Von Dudley as, much like last week, D-Von would inadvertently knock down Bubba Ray during the match and Kofi Kingston would take advantage, hitting D-Von with Trouble In Paradise and pinning D-Von to pick up the win for himself and Xavier Woods. After the match, Gallows & Anderson would appear on the big screen, still making jokes about the injuries they caused to Big E a couple of weeks ago. Kofi & Xavier then respond as Kofi says that Big E is their friend before Xavier says that he knows that Gallows & Anderson weren’t in WWE this time last year, but last year’s SummerSlam is where they became the WWE Tag Team Champions so they will be damned if some “patchy haired human-looking phalluses” are going to beat them at SummerSlam. Kofi then says that Gallows & Anderson do not have the “power” to take the WWE Tag Team Titles away from them and they do not have the power to take away their “New Day rocks”. The dominant powerhouse of the women’s division was in action on RAW as Nia Jax would go one-on-one with a local competitor by the name of Rachel Levy. It was another dominant performance from Nia Jax as Nia dominates Rachel Levy, hitting Rachel with a modified powerslam and pinning the local competitor for the win. Six nights before he goes one-on-one with Randy Orton at SummerSlam, “The Beast” would make an appearance on RAW as Brock Lesnar, with his advocate Paul Heyman in tow, would make his way to the ring. Heyman begins to speak, but he is quickly interrupted by the self-proclaimed “hottest free agent in sports entertainment today” Heath Slater, who comes out to the stage. Heyman says that he doesn’t know if Heath has been listening to the “voices” in Randy Orton’s head, but someone has given Slater the “bad advice” to interrupt him and his client Brock Lesnar. Heath says that SmackDown Live wouldn’t know talent if it smacked them in the face so that what has brought him out there to talk to Heyman. Heyman laughs at the prospect of taking Heath Slater in as a client of his but Heath reveals that he has been offered a RAW contract and a match at SummerSlam, but only if he is able to beat Brock Lesnar tonight! Heath then respectfully asks Paul Heyman if he can go one-on-one with “The Beast” before Heyman says that he doesn’t know what is getting into Heath’s head but the “joke is over”. Insisting that the focus return to him and his client, Paul Heyman tries to pick up where he left off before Heath Slater interrupted, but Heath would interrupt again. This time, Slater gets on the ring apron, telling Heyman not to “disrespect” him and look him in the eyes. Heath then tells Heyman that he’s got kids at home and they are relying on him, saying that he knows that Brock Lesnar is going “whoop” his ass, but he has to try. Heyman tells Slater that he is trying to save Heath’s ass right now, but Slater responds by saying that his ass cannot be saved right now. Slater again states that he’s got kids at home and he has to at least try to beat Brock, but this is when Lesnar himself actually speaks up. “The Beast” tells Slater that he can “appreciate” Slater’s determination before saying that Heath has got “responsibilities” and he’s got “kids”. Lesnar says that he also has kids, inviting Heath into the ring before getting in Heath’s face and telling Slater, “I don’t give a s*** about your kids”! Brock then says that Heath has two choices, either Slater walks out of there on his own two feet or Slater can stand there and “keep pissing me off”! Heath then thinks it over as Slater initially starts to leave the ring before deciding to try and cheap shot “The Beast” to no avail as Brock levels Heath with a clothesline before drilling Slater with back-to-back German suplexes before planting Heath with the F-5! Brock then kicks Heath out of the ring before Paul Heyman says that he will give Slater a lot of credit for going face-to-face with “The Beast”, saying that’s something that Randy Orton doesn’t have the “manhood” to go face-to-face with Brock Lesnar. Heyman then says his job is to promote SummerSlam, saying that he is a “hype artist” and he is supposed to talk up Randy Orton as a formidable opponent for Brock Lesnar, but Brock does not believe that. Heyman continues, saying that this is the “summer of the conqueror” and Brock is “in heat” before saying that Brock Lesnar is the “box office” at SummerSlam and no one in the locker room can stand a chance against Brock Lesnar. Heyman then says that, this Sunday at SummerSlam, they have the rare opportunity to see Brock Lesnar “live in action”. Before Enzo & Big Cass face Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens this Sunday at SummerSlam, Big Cass, with Enzo Amore in his corner, would go one-on-one with Kevin Owens, with Chris Jericho in his corner, on RAW. Throughout the match, Chris Jericho would repeatedly get involved in the match, but after Jericho takes Enzo Amore out on the outside, Jericho gets the attention of Big Cass. Big Cass would take down Kevin Owens on the outside, but this would give Jericho an opening to attack Big Cass from behind. Jeri-KO would then bring Big Cass back into the ring and, while the big man would try to fend off the two-on-one attack, Jericho & Owens would get the better of Big Cass as Owens catches Cass with a super kick before Jericho follows it up with the Codebreaker. Jeri-KO then stands over Big Cass, having effectively left both Enzo & Big Cass laid out. Backstage, Roman Reigns is being interviewed about his upcoming match with Rusev when the United States Champion attacks Roman from behind. However, Reigns would fight back against Rusev before Rusev sends Reigns face-first into a garage door, charging full-force and using all of his weight to crush Roman into the steel door. Rusev then tosses Roman on some nearby tables before WWE agents rush in to break up the fight. Putting their differences aside to reunite as a tag team for one night only, Darren Young & Titus O’Neil would reunite The Prime Time Players on RAW as The Prime Time Players, with Bob Backlund in their corner, would face The Shining Stars. During the match, Titus O’Neil would have a discussion with Bob Backlund, but that is when Darren Young would inadvertently knock Titus off of the ring apron. Titus would respond by entering the ring and planting his tag team partner with the Clash of the Titus before Titus walks out on the match as Primo pins Darren to pick up the win for The Shining Stars. After beating his former friend Heath Slater two weeks ago to earn a RAW contract, Jinder Mahal would go one-on-one with “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville. In the end, it was Neville scoring with the Red Arrow to Jinder Mahal, pinning Jinder to pick up the win. After spending much of the night looking around the backstage area for Finn Balor’s alter ego, “The Demon King”, Seth Rollins would make his way to the ring on RAW to call out “The Demon King”. Rollins says that there is “no one” and “nothing” that can stop him from becoming the first ever WWE Universal Champion this Sunday at SummerSlam before saying that he is going to give “The Demon King” one more chance to come out there and face him. After “The Demon King” does not appear, Seth Rollins says that Finn Balor is trying to intimidate him because Balor is “afraid” of him, saying that he would be “terrified” of him too and he is the “face” of Finn Balor’s “failure”. Rollins then says that, at SummerSlam, Finn Balor has “nowhere to run” and “nowhere to hide”. Rollins is then interrupted by the flickering of the arena lights before the lights go out and red lights blink before illuminating the stage where “The Demon King” appears in all of his glory as Finn Balor unveils his dark alter ego as “The Demon King” makes his way to the ring complete with face paint, headdress, and body paint. “The Demon King” then prepares himself for battle, coming face-to-face with Seth Rollins in the ring before the fight breaks out between the two. Finn Balor would ultimately get the better of the fight, delivering a dropkick to Rollins before Rollins narrowly escapes the Coup de Grace only for “The Demon King” to take flight, diving out of the ring to take out Seth Rollins. “The Demon King” then stands tall in the ring as a visibly afraid Seth Rollins looks on with disbelief from the stage. Before they challenge The New Day for the WWE Tag Team Titles this Sunday at SummerSlam, Gallows & Anderson would face The Golden Truth in tag team action on RAW. In the end, it was Gallows & Anderson hitting Goldust with the Magic Killer as Gallows pins Goldust for the win. After the match, Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston would attack Gallows & Anderson, taking Gallows out of the ring before they focus on Karl Anderson. Looking to avenge Big E, Xavier & Kofi were about to use Xavier’s trombone to assault the manhood of Anderson, but Luke Gallows is able to pull Anderson out of the ring at the last second as Xavier & Kofi stand tall, ready for SummerSlam. Backstage, Dana Brooke tries to apologize to her mentor, Charlotte, for failing to beat Sasha Banks last week and, as a result, being banned from ringside for the Women’s Title match at SummerSlam. Charlotte says that the spotlight is on her and, tonight, she is going to beat Alicia Fox all by herself and, after she becomes a two-time Women’s Champion this Sunday, she might ask Stephanie McMahon to replace Dana with someone who isn’t an “absolute failure”! With Women’s Champion Sasha Banks a guest on commentary, her SummerSlam opponent Charlotte would go one-on-one with Alicia Fox on RAW. In the end, it was Charlotte hitting Alicia Fox with Natural Selection, pinning Alicia for the win. After the match, Charlotte dares Sasha Banks to come down to the ring and the Women’s Champion would not hesitate to accept the challenge. However, it would prove to be a trap as Dana Brooke attacks Sasha from behind, allowing Charlotte to lock Sasha in the Figure-Four Leg Lock, refusing to break the hold until referees come in to break it up, leaving the Women’s Champion weakened heading into SummerSlam. Before they go one-on-one with the United States Championship on the line this Sunday night at SummerSlam, the main event of the evening would see Rusev try to defend his wife’s honor as the United States Champion, with Lana in his corner, would face Roman Reigns in a non-title match. Seething over being assaulted by Rusev backstage, Roman Reigns would march to the ring with a purpose, not letting the match start as Roman would take it to the United States Champion. However, Rusev would fight back on the outside, sending Roman into the barricade before sending Reigns face-first into the steel ring post before targeting the left arm of Roman, slamming the arm into the steel ring post before the match is finally able to get underway. Rusev would not let up on the injured arm of Roman Reigns as the United States Champion would work the arm over throughout the match, sending Roman shoulder-first into the steel ring post and sending Reigns into the steel steps. Rusev then grabs the United States Title belt, but the referee intervenes and this would give Roman a brief opportunity to fight back, but Rusev would toss Roman into the barricade, maintaining the advantage. Roman would manage to overcome the pain to battle back, but the left arm would continue to plague Reigns as Rusev would target the arm to regain the advantage. Rusev would then deliver four back-to-back headbutts from the second rope, but Reigns would continue to kick out after each headbutt! Rusev then goes for a fifth headbutt, but Roman is able to move out of the way before both men make it back to their feet with Rusev and Roman exchanging shots with Reigns getting the better of the United States Champion, sending Rusev to the outside. Roman then goes for the Superman Punch on the outside but Rusev counters with a kick to the mid-section. The champion then rolls Reigns back into the ring, but Roman is able to spring up and deliver the Superman Punch to Rusev. However, Rusev kicks out and Reigns sizes Rusev up for the Spear but Rusev counters with a pair of kicks to the head. After Roman kicks out again, a furious Rusev would look to lock in the Accolade, but Reigns would fight out of the submission attempt before Rusev is able to catch Reigns with a kick to the back of the head. Rusev then locks in the Accolade on Roman, but Reigns refuses to give up, managing to power his way to the bottom rope as Rusev is forced to break the hold. Rusev then sizes Roman up, charging at Reigns, but Roman counters before catching Rusev with the Spear, pinning the United States Champion to pick up the win, picking up major momentum heading into SummerSlam this Sunday! After the match, Rusev grabs his United States Title belt as Rusev & Lana try to collect themselves on the outside while Roman Reigns stands tall inside the ring, clearly ready to do everything in his power to take the United States Title away from Rusev at “The Biggest Event of the Summer”.
