WWE RAW Results: July 4, 2016By Cassidy| July 5, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After a glorious rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by Lilian Garcia, the Independence Day edition of RAW kicks off, appropriately enough, with the United States Championship on the line as Rusev, with Lana in his corner, would defend the United States Title against Titus O’Neil. In the end, it was Rusev blasting Titus O’Neil with a kick to the head before locking in the Accolade, making Titus tap out to pick up the win and successfully retain the United States Title. After the match, Rusev would grab a microphone and chant “USA” at the American fans before telling them to chant for him before sarcastically declaring “happy birthday America”. In tag team action, Enzo & Cass would face The Social Outcasts’ Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel, with Heath Slater in their corner, on RAW. In the end, it was Enzo & Cass hitting the Bada Boom Shakalaka with Enzo Amore pinning Bo Dallas to pick up the win for Enzo & Cass. Women’s Champion Charlotte and her protégé Dana Brooke would then make an appearance on RAW. Charlotte says that everyone around her has been “jealous” her entire life because she becomes the “very best” at everything she does. The Women’s Champion then says that there is no one more jealous of her than Sasha Banks, saying Sasha clings to the fans that chant “We Want Sasha”. Charlotte continues, saying that “chants don’t pay the bills” and there’s no woman in WWE who has done more than her this year, saying that Sasha Banks is “all hype”. Having heard enough, this brings Sasha Banks out to the ring as “The Boss” tells Charlotte that she is the Women’s Champion but she will never be Sasha Banks. Sasha then tells Charlotte that Charlotte has accomplished a lot this year but Charlotte has never beaten her, saying that, if it wasn’t for Charlotte’s dad getting involved at WrestleMania, then she would be the Women’s Champion right now. “The Boss” continues, stating that, when they step into the ring and go one-on-one, she will “dominate” Charlotte. The Women’s Champion says that Sasha isn’t even in the conversation, but “The Boss” fires back, saying that she is the conversation. Charlotte then claims that being a champion for almost an entire year makes her the real “legit boss”. Sasha then tells the champion that a “boss” fights for what she believes in and doesn’t have it “handed to her”. Sasha continues, saying that a boss is the “center of attention” because her style is the realest and isn’t a “knockoff of her daddy’s ‘80s game”! Sasha then states that a boss will “throw it down” anywhere at any time and, right now, “The Boss” is telling her that her reign as Women’s Champion is “over”! Dana Brooke then tries to cheap-shot Sasha Banks, but Sasha sends Dana out of the ring before Charlotte blasts “The Boss” with a kick. The Women’s Champion then tries to dish out additional punishment, but Sasha fights back, locking Charlotte in the Bank Statement as Dana Brooke is quick to rescue her mentor from “The Boss” as Sasha Banks is left standing tall in the ring. In a rematch from SmackDown, WWE Champion Dean Ambrose would go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion The Miz, with Maryse in his corner, in a non-title, Champion vs. Champion match. In the end, it was Dean Ambrose enduring The Miz’s Figure-Four Leg Lock before spiking The Miz with Dirty Deeds, pinning the Intercontinental Champion to pick up the win. After the match, the WWE Champion would be met by one of his two challengers for the WWE Title at Battleground as Seth Rollins comes out as the two rivals exchange glances before Rollins enters the ring for his scheduled match. However, Dean Ambrose stops on the stage before running down to the ring, but instead of fighting Rollins, the WWE Champion slides out of the other side of the ring, taking a seat at ringside to be a guest on Spanish commentary. With WWE Champion Dean Ambrose a guest on commentary, one of the two challengers in the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship at Battleground would be in action as Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with Dolph Ziggler on RAW. At the end of a high-speed match, it was Seth Rollins avoiding the Zig Zag before planting Dolph Ziggler with the Pedigree, pinning “The Show Off” to pick up the win. After the match, Seth Rollins exits the ring and stands on the Spanish announce table, saying that “the man” leaves no doubts as to who the “very best” is. Rollins then says that, day in and day out, he works harder than every one of the fans and he will not have his legacy “tarnished” by Roman Reigns. Now on the English announce table, Rollins declares that Roman Reigns needs to get taken out of the Triple Threat Match at Battleground so he can have his rightful one-on-one rematch for the WWE Title. Rollins continues, saying that Roman should not even be a part of the upcoming WWE Draft, saying that Reigns is supposed to be a “role model”, but the fans are just like Reigns because they always “cheat” and “lie” to get ahead in life. Having heard enough from Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose stands on the Spanish announce table as Rollins tells the WWE Champion that Ambrose stole the title from him, vowing that he is going to take his title back at Battleground. The champion responds by throwing the WWE Title belt to Seth Rollins, distracting Rollins long enough for the champion to strike. The Battleground opponents then battle on the outside with Dean Ambrose bringing Seth Rollins on top of the Spanish announce table, spiking Seth Rollins with Dirty Deeds on the table! This leaves the WWE Champion standing tall over the crumpled Seth Rollins, holding his title belt high. In a creepy vignette from The Wyatt Family, The Wyatt Family are in a shed at The Wyatt Family’s compound as Bray Wyatt addresses The New Day, saying that the “power of positivity” doesn’t really exist. Bray then says that, where they come from, the “pains of reality” are constant before Erick Rowan adds that this is the “place where lost souls are found” and Braun Strowman says that the place is a “sanctuary for the damned”. Bray continues, inviting the WWE Tag Team Champions to “join” them, telling The New Day to bring their “sunshine” and “laughter”. Bray then says that the “power of positivity” is a “myth” while “fear is very, very real”, telling The New Day to “join us”. For the first time in over two years, the unmistakable, screeching voice of former General Manager Vickie Guerrero would be heard on RAW as the one-of-a-kind “excuse me” would be heard throughout the arena before Vickie herself comes out to the stage. Standing at the SmackDown podium on the stage, Vickie says that she is here tonight before she is a former General Manager of RAW and SmackDown and, since SmackDown goes live starting July 19, SmackDown is in need of an experienced COO. Vickie then says that SmackDown cannot led by Kane, Theodore Long, or John Laurinaitis and SmackDown needs a woman like her who is “empowered and independent”. Vickie then officially submits her name to be in the running to be the SmackDown COO come July 19, imploring the fans to voice their support for Vickie Guerrero. Security then comes out to escort Vickie Guerrero from the building. With Breezango at ringside in The VIP Section, The Golden Truth would face The Vaudevillains in tag team action on RAW. In the end, it was The Golden Truth hitting Solid Gold with R-Truth pinning Aiden English to pick up the win for The Golden Truth. After getting attacked by The Club and laid out on the stage with the Magic Killer on last week’s RAW, John Cena would make an appearance on RAW to address The Club. Cena says that, after all the excitement generated by he and AJ Styles standing in the same ring at the same time, AJ disappointed everyone when he showed that he cannot stand on his “own two feet”, saying AJ “leaned” on the shoulders of The Club. Cena then says that, when you fight one member of The Club, you fight the whole Club before saying that now he has to worry about an attack by The Club no matter what he’s doing or who he’s facing. Cena continues, saying that he’s still standing and he is tired of looking over his shoulder, telling the entire Club that, if they “want some, come get some”. This brings out The Club as AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, & Karl Anderson come out to the stage as AJ Styles accuses Cena of crying about things being “unfair” before declaring that, soon, The Club will “run” WWE. Styles then says that the “powers that be” cannot get over the fact that he beat Cena at WWE Money-in-the-Bank, saying that Gallows & Anderson are his “insurance policy” and he thinks that they enjoy beating Cena up almost as much as he does. AJ then says that they found out last week that no one in the locker room is willing to come out to help John Cena and that’s because most of the Superstars relate to The Club. Styles continues, saying that The Club is the only ones with “big enough balls” to actually beat John Cena up before saying that there is nothing more fun than beating Cena up every week. After making plans to beat up John Cena for every holiday in the foreseeable future, The Club make their way down to the ring, swarming John Cena in another three-on-one beatdown. AJ Styles then tees off on Cena with vicious right hands, followed by Luke Gallows, who does the same. However, John Cena then receives some backup as Enzo & Cass come out to the ring and, together with John Cena, Enzo & Cass clear the ring of The Club, leaving Cena and Enzo & Cass standing tall in the ring! With a match against former friend Natalya coming up in a few weeks at Battleground, “The Irish Lass Kicker” Becky Lynch would go one-on-one with Summer Rae on RAW. At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Becky Lynch locking in the Dis-Arm-Her on Summer Rae, making Summer tap out to pick up the win. After hearing their creepy invitation to The Wyatt Family compound earlier in the night, WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day would make an appearance on RAW. After alleging that The Wyatt Family keeps it “all in the family”, The New Day says that they will be sure to bring The Wyatt Family a gift in the form of a bowl of “Booty O’s”. The New Day is then interrupted by The Wyatt Family appearing on the Tron from their compound as Erick Rowan says that “ignorance is bliss” and the sound of laughter is one of the most precious things in life. Braun Strowman then adds that “screams are music” to his ears before Bray Wyatt says that The New Day can keep marching into the mouths of the “machine” with their jokes. Bray then says that The New Day can come into his world like “men” before saying that they laughed at his invitation before saying that this is a “challenge”. Bray then asks if The New Day are “men” or “cowards”, asking how far they are willing to go to fight for what they believe in. Bray continues, saying that The New Day started this and, now, he must “end it”, telling The New Day to “find me”. Back in the ring, Kofi Kingston accepts The Wyatt Family’s invitation, vowing to “spray positivity” all over the place. Xavier Woods then takes a serious tone with his friends, telling Big E & Kofi Kingston that The Wyatt Family is “dangerous” before saying that now they have to go and fight The Wyatt Family on their turf. Xavier then says that everything up until now has been “fun and games”, but if they don’t see the “threat” that Bray Wyatt is to them, then he doesn’t think that The New Day will be able to “survive”. Xavier then exits the ring, walking to the back and leaving Big E & Kofi Kingston stunned in the ring with a solemn look on their faces. Then it was time for a very unique main event as rivals would be forced to team up as “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, “The Big Red Monster” Kane, The Dudley Boyz, “The Real American” Jack Swagger, Apollo Crews, Zack Ryder, and “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry would unite to form Team USA as Team USA would face Canada’s Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, & Sami Zayn, Mexico’s Alberto Del Rio & The Lucha Dragons, Switzerland’s Cesaro, and Ireland’s Sheamus, who make up The Multi-National Alliance, in a massive 16-Man Elimination Tag Match! It would not take long for Team USA to gain the early advantage after The Dudley Boyz score with the 3-D to Sin Cara with Bubba Ray Dudley pinning Sin Cara to eliminate the masked Superstar from the match. However, Bubba Ray then walks right into the Brogue Kick from Sheamus before Kalisto tags himself in, hitting a springboard frog splash and pinning Bubba Ray to eliminate Bubba Ray from the match, evening things up in the match. Cesaro then brings the advantage back to The Multi-National Alliance by swinging D-Von Dudley and locking in the Sharpshooter, making D-Von tap out to eliminate D-Von from the match. Later on in the match, Chris Jericho would score with the Codebreaker to Jack Swagger, eliminating “The Real American” from the match before the match completely breaks down with all the remaining competitors in the match brawling in and out of the ring before order is eventually restored. Shortly after this, Mark Henry flattens Kalisto with the World’s Strongest Slam, pinning Kalisto to eliminate the high-flyer from the match. This is followed up by Kevin Owens hitting a huge Pop-Up Powerbomb on “The World’s Strongest Man”, pinning and eliminating Mark Henry from the match. During the match, tensions would rise between rivals and Battleground opponents Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn as Owens sends Zack Ryder into Sami, knocking Sami off of the ring apron. This brings Zayn into the ring as the two teammates would fight with Sami sending Owens out of the ring. However, before Sami can dive out of the ring onto Owens, Sami is leveled with a clothesline from Kane. “The Big Red Machine” then sets Sami up for a chokeslam, but Kevin Owens would come back into the ring and hit Sami in the back with a steel chair! Despite the steel chair shot being against his own teammate, the referee would disqualify Kevin Owens, eliminating Owens from the match. Kevin Owens would then look for another chair shot to Sami Zayn, but Kane would grab the steel chair, striking Owens with a chair shot to the back and, despite Kevin Owens’ elimination, the referee would still disqualify Kane, eliminating “The Big Red Machine” from the match! Kane responds to this confusing decision by delivering a chokeslam to Sami Zayn before exiting the ring. This gives Apollo Crews the opportunity to capitalize as Apollo Crews hits a standing moonsault, pinning Sami to eliminate Sami from the match. Sheamus then blindsides Crews with the Brogue Kick, pinning and eliminating Apollo from the match. This leaves Big Show & Zack Ryder left on Team USA to combat The Multi-National Alliance’s Chris Jericho, Sheamus, Cesaro, & Alberto Del Rio. Problems would then arise on The Multi-National Alliance after Cesaro tags himself into the match. “The Swiss Superman” responds by taking out his teammates Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio, but when Cesaro turns his focus back to Zack Ryder, Ryder surprises Cesaro with a roll-up, eliminating “The Swiss Superman” from the match! Big Show then takes control of the match as “The World’s Largest Athlete” levels Chris Jericho with the Knockout Punch, pinning and eliminating Jericho from the match. Big Show then plants Alberto Del Rio with a chokeslam before pinning and eliminating Del Rio from the match, leaving Sheamus all alone to face Team USA’s Big Show & Zack Ryder. Sheamus would try and attack Big Show on the apron, but “The World’s Largest Athlete” would shove Sheamus right into the Rough Ryder from Zack Ryder, who pins Sheamus to eliminate “The Celtic Warrior” from the match and pick up the win for Team USA with Big Show & Zack Ryder remaining. A large American flag then lowers over the ring as pyro erupts from the stage with Big Show & Zack Ryder picking up a win for Team USA on America’s 240th birthday.
