WWE RAW Results: May 30, 2016By Cassidy| May 31, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results Before RAW officially gets underway, the roster fills the stage as WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, John Cena, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, The Dudley Boyz, R-Truth, Goldust, WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, Women’s Champion Charlotte, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Cesaro, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens, Apollo Crews, and several others all solemnly stand as Lilian Garcia asks everyone in the arena to rise as the bell is tolled ten times to remember and pay tribute those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the liberty and freedom of the United States of America. RAW then officially gets underway with one of the two McMahons in charge of RAW as Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring. Before Shane can even speak, he is interrupted by the other McMahon in charge as Shane’s sister Stephanie makes her way to the ring as well. The siblings do their best to one-up each other in welcoming everyone to RAW before Shane mentions the groundbreaking announcement that was made last week that, starting on July 19, SmackDown will be moving to Tuesday nights where it will not only be live each and every week, but for the first time since 2011, SmackDown will have its own distinct roster of Superstars! Stephanie then turns the focus back to RAW, promoting the return of John Cena here tonight. Shane & Stephanie are then greeted by the arrival of the WWE Tag Team Champions as The New Day make their way towards the ring. Xavier Woods says that, as excited as they are about SmackDown going live, that excitement turned into “paranoia” for The New Day. Now in the ring, Big E brings up the return of the brand extension and Shane confirms that RAW and SmackDown will indeed have their own unique rosters. Kofi Kingston then says that they are all about the “new era” and Big E laughs at Kofi, pointing out that Kofi has been in WWE for about a decade now with Xavier commenting that Kofi was his favorite wrestling when he was in middle school. Kofi then gets to the big question, asking Shane & Stephanie where The New Day will be going once the brand extension goes into effect. Stephanie says that they haven’t yet decided on that yet with The New Day accusing Stephanie of dodging their question. Xavier then says that they can’t even think about breaking up The New Day with Shane responding that they can’t rule anything out. This sends the WWE Tag Team Champions into a panic with Stephanie trying to calm The New Day down by saying that nothing is official yet. Big E then asks Shane & Stephanie who will be in charge of SmackDown once it goes live with its own roster with Stephanie saying that they haven’t decided that yet either with Shane adding that whatever decisions are made will be “well thought out”. Big E then decides that, since there’s a bit of a “sibling rivalry” between Shane and Stephanie, they should have a “dance challenge”! While Stephanie wanted no part of it, Shane was all about it as Shane is the first to get down with The New Day. The WWE Tag Team Champions then convince Stephanie to take part in the fun, but just as Stephanie is about to dance with The New Day, The Vaudevillains interrupt for their scheduled match with The New Day. In a non-title rematch from Extreme Rules, the opening match of the night would see WWE Tag Team Champions Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, face The Vaudevillains. During the match, Big E would hit a big splash on Aiden English on the inside, but, on the outside, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson would come in through the crowd, attacking Xavier Woods and throwing Woods into the barricade. This brings Kofi Kingston into the fray, but once Luke Gallows levels Kofi with a big boot, the referee calls for the disqualification. With Kofi & Xavier out of it at ringside, this leaves Big E at the mercy of The Vaudevillains, who put the boots to the big man in the ring, beating Big E down. The Vaudevillains then offer up Big E to Gallows & Anderson as The Vaudevillains leave the ring as Gallows & Anderson plant Big E with the Magic Killer! Gallows & Anderson then stand tall in the ring as Gallows & Anderson show that they are more than ready to get to take over the tag team division by taking out the WWE Tag Team Champions. Backstage, Apollo Crews is confronted by Big Show as Big Show explains to Crews that Sheamus is going to do whatever he can to keep the “status quo” in WWE. Big Show then says that Sheamus is a “bully” and the reason that he has targeted Apollo is because Sheamus thinks that Crews isn’t going to stand up for himself and fight back, asking if Crews is going to fight back. With The Golden Truth guests on commentary, The Usos would face The Golden Truth’s rivals Breezango in tag team action. In the end, it was Jey Uso surprising Fandango with a roll-up, securing the three-count to pick up the win. After the match, Breezango would confront The Golden Truth, resulting in a brawl between the two teams with The Golden Truth getting the better of the situation as R-Truth sends Tyler Breeze to Goldust, who slams Breeze on the arena floor. For the first time since finding out that he will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins in just under three weeks at WWE Money-in-the-Bank, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns would address his upcoming title defense on RAW. The champion says that, ever since Seth Rollins broke up The Shield a couple of years ago, Rollins has been referring to himself as “the man” as Roman says that he is “the guy”. Reigns then says that, if Rollins thinks he’s “the man”, then Rollins should come out there and prove it. Seth Rollins doesn’t keep the champion waiting for long as Rollins makes his way towards the ring, but the former champion stops halfway before walking back up to the stage and grabbing a microphone. However, Rollins doesn’t say anything before he tosses the microphone, again making his way towards the ring, but the challenger repeatedly stops halfway. The #1 Contender then walks back up the stage and picks up the microphone again before throwing it down and walking to the back. As Roman Reigns stands in the ring with his title belt, Seth Rollins would rush out from the backstage area, but would stop at ringside once the champion turns to face him and Rollins would laugh at Reigns before backing off once again. The United States Champion was then in action on RAW as Rusev, with Lana in his corner, would go one-on-one with Zack Ryder in a non-title match. In the end, it was Rusev locking in the Accolade on Zack Ryder, making Ryder tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Rusev says that he is what America should be all about, saying that he is a “true American hero”. This brings out Titus O’Neil, who says that Rusev has some nerve calling himself a “great American” on Memorial Day. Now in the ring, Titus tells Rusev that “great Americans fight for what they believe in” before calling the United States Champion a “Bulgarian blowhard”. Titus then pops Rusev with a right hand before the United States Champion rolls out of the ring, wanting no part of Titus O’Neil. In a confrontation from earlier in the day, Stephanie McMahon confronts Women’s Champion Charlotte over Charlotte’s shameful display last week when she publicly humiliated her father Ric Flair. Stephanie tells Charlotte that she is “embarrassed” that Charlotte is representing the women’s division as the Women’s Champion, calling Charlotte a “selfish brat”. The Women’s Champion then tries to talk back to Stephanie, but Stephanie gets in Charlotte’s face, telling Charlotte that she has no idea what she is talking about and calling the champion a “waste of talent”! Rivals would square off in tag team action on RAW as Enzo & Big Cass would face The Dudley Boyz. In the end, it was Big Cass launching Enzo Amore off of the top rope with the Rocket Launcher onto D-Von Dudley as Enzo pins D-Von for the win. After five months on the shelf with a torn rotator cuff, it was time for the much-anticipated return of fifteen-time former World Champion John Cena as one of the most patriotic Superstars of all-time makes his way to the ring on Memorial Day to a mixed reaction from the Green Bay fans. Cena starts by saying to let every nation know that they will “pay any price” and “oppose any foe” to ensure “the survival and the success of liberty”. Cena continues, saying that Memorial Day is a celebration of the sacrifice countless men and women have made to protect America and saying that, on this day, it is with the utmost respect that he honors the friends, the families, and the heroes that have paid the ultimate price to keep America’s liberty intact. Cena then says that liberty is freedom and freedom is what drives us and it is freedom that allows him to stand tall in the ring and proclaim that he is back on Monday Night RAW, asking if he still belongs there. Cena continues, saying that a “new era” has arrived and every one of the new names and faces are all thinking the same thing, that it’s just a matter of time before they move up and he moves out. Cena then declares that, if the future is indeed here, then the future will “damn sure” have to go through him! This brings out “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, who confronts John Cena for the first time ever, receiving a mixed reaction from the crowd as the crowd is split with dueling chants of “AJ Styles” and “Let’s Go Cena” as both men absorb the incredible reaction from the Green Bay fans. Styles tells Cena that he has been waiting for this moment for a long time with Cena commenting that, from the sound of it, so has everyone else. Styles then says that he has seen what Cena has done in and out of the ring and the things that he has done outside of the ring for WWE are unheard of. Styles continues, saying that he knows that they come from “two different worlds” but they are both there now in the same ring. Styles then extends his hand, saying that he wants to be the first one to say “welcome back” before Cena and Styles shake hands. This brings out Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson as Gallows says that they agreed to go their separate ways and it looks like the way that Styles is going is “sucking up” to John Cena. Anderson then says that, unlike Styles, they’re not there to “kiss ass”, they’re there to “kick it” and that includes AJ Styles. Gallows & Anderson then get ready to enter the ring as both AJ Styles and John Cena ready themselves for a fight. However, the moment that Cena turns to throw his t-shirt to the crowd, AJ Styles pops Cena with a right hand! This sets off a three-on-one assault by AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, & Karl Anderson as it becomes apparent that The Club going their separate ways last week was all a ruse! Styles then ravages Cena with right hands before Karl Anderson sends Cena into a big boot from Luke Gallows and Anderson getting a few shots in of his own on Cena. The Club then stands tall over John Cena, having made an emphatic statement at the expense of John Cena. The Club then exits the ring, but AJ Styles decided that he wanted more of Cena, rushing back into the ring and further pummeling the fifteen-time former World Champion before The Club exits the ring again. Then, once again, a ferocious AJ Styles rushes the ring, blasting Cena with more right hands, exiting the ring as referees rush to the ring to check on John Cena. AJ Styles then runs back down to the ring again, ravaging Cena further before Gallows & Anderson are the ones to step in, pulling Styles off of Cena as The Club leaves the ring with an unhinged AJ Styles at the forefront. After Dana Brooke cost Natalya the Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules, Natalya would go one-on-one with Dana Brooke, with Women’s Champion Charlotte in her corner. In the end, it was a distraction from Charlotte that would give Dana Brooke the opening to hit Natalya with the Michinoku Driver, pinning Natalya for the win. After the match, Charlotte & Dana Brooke would beat Natalya down with Charlotte delivering chops to a helpless Natalya. This would bring out Becky Lynch, who rushes to the ring as Charlotte & Dana Brooke make a hasty retreat. In their ongoing rivalry, Dolph Ziggler would face Baron Corbin in a “traditional wrestling match” with Dolph even sporting headgear and a mouthpiece. However, as soon as the match begins, Ziggler would get a measure of revenge for Extreme Rules as Dolph delivers an intentional low blow to Baron Corbin! Dolph would take the disqualification loss in stride as Dolph states that he lost the match but Corbin is still the “loser”. Then it was time for the main event as the six participants in the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match in less than three weeks at WWE Money-in-the-Bank would square off on RAW as “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would join forces with Sami Zayn and Cesaro to face the team of Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, & Alberto Del Rio in a 6-Man Tag match. At the end of a wild match, it was Chris Jericho hitting the Codebreaker on Dean Ambrose, but Kevin Owens would tag himself in to try and steal the win. This would lead to a confrontation between Owens and Jericho before Cesaro hits Jericho from behind, knocking Owens down. Cesaro then spins Jericho with the Cesaro Swing before Alberto Del Rio takes Cesaro out with the Back Stabber and Sami Zayn connects with the Helluva Kick to Del Rio! Kevin Owens then catches Zayn with a super kick before going for the Pop-Up Powerbomb, but Sami would counter, sending Owens right into Dean Ambrose, who spikes Owens with Dirty Deeds, pinning Owens to pick up the win for himself, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro. This leaves Dean Ambrose, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro staring at the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase hanging high above the ring as it dawns on all three men that, come WWE Money-in-the-Bank, there will be no allies.
