WWE RAW Results: April 4, 2016By Cassidy| April 5, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After The Undertaker defeated his son Shane in a Hell in a Cell Match to ensure that he remained in control of Monday Night RAW, the show kicks off with WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, who comes out to the stage. The Chairman says that he has “total control” and no one has anything on him and “never ever” will again before saying that there was one time during the Hell in a Cell Match that got to him and that is when Shane climbed to the top of the Hell in a Cell structure. McMahon says that he hadn’t realized that Shane wanted control of RAW so badly that he was willing to risk his life to achieve his goals. The Chairman continues, saying that he has “respect” for his son, but it also re-enforces how “foolish” Shane is. Vince then assures the wild Dallas crowd that tonight’s RAW will be one that they will “never forget”. However, Vince is then interrupted by his son, Shane McMahon, as the bruised and battered Shane slowly walks out to confront his father. The crowd chants “thank you Shane” and Shane thanks the fans in return before telling Vince that, since he’s the “only man” in the family, he came out there to shake Vince’s hand like a man and admit that he won. Shane then shakes his father’s hand before addressing the Dallas crowd, saying that what they gave him is something he will “never, ever forget”. The crowd then chants “you still got it” for an emotional Shane before saying “thank you” to the fans and saying “goodbye”! Shane then starts to leave, but Vince stops his son, saying that “nobody” upstages him and that he has often thought about how “crazy and nonsensical” things would be if Shane was in control of Monday Night RAW. In a surprising turn of events, Vince says that, just to prove his point, Shane can go ahead and do “whatever the hell” he wants! The crowd erupts in “yes” chants, bringing a smile to Shane’s face as Shane is rewarded for his sacrifice at WrestleMania by gaining control of one of the wildest editions of RAW of the entire year! After coming up short against The League of Nations at WrestleMania, but getting to share a WrestleMania moment with three WWE Hall of Famers in Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, & Stone Cold Steve Austin, the WWE Tag Team Champions were on RAW as The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, would put the gold on the line against League of Nations’ members Sheamus & King Barrett, with Rusev & Alberto Del Rio in their corner. In the end, it was Big E shoving King Barrett into Sheamus, knocking Sheamus off of the ring apron before Big E tags in Kofi Kingston. Big E & Kofi then hit the Midnight Hour on King Barrett with Kofi pinning Barrett to successfully retain the WWE Tag Team Titles. After the match, an angry Sheamus says that they are a group of “the greatest athletes from across the world” and they should be “destroying everybody” in WWE. Sheamus then says that there is “something wrong” before saying that you’re only as strong as your “weakest link”. With that, Rusev & Alberto Del Rio grab a hold of King Barrett, holding Barrett up for a Brogue Kick from Sheamus, ex-communicating Barrett from The League of Nations! Sheamus, Rusev, & Del Rio then kick Barrett out of the ring before The Wyatt Family arrives on the scene, attacking The League of Nations! The Wyatt Family would pummel The League of Nations, sending Rusev and Del Rio packing before isolating Sheamus as Erick Rowan & Braun Strowman feed Sheamus to Bray Wyatt, who plants “The Celtic Warrior” with Sister Abigail! Bray Wyatt then kneels next to Sheamus as the crowd chants “thank you Wyatts”, shouting “follow the buzzards”. Backstage, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon is heading to his limousine to exit the arena when he is interviewed about putting Shane in control of RAW for the night. The Chairman says that he’s not leaving because he has faith in his son’s ability to run RAW, he’s leaving because RAW is going to be a “disaster”. McMahon then says that he’s leaving because he doesn’t want to witness the “ship going down”, reminding everyone that the arrangement is only “temporary” before getting in his limo and exiting the arena. After interference from Charlotte’s father Ric Flair led to Sasha Banks having to watch as Becky Lynch tapped out to crown Charlotte the first ever WWE Women’s Champion, “The Boss” was in action on RAW as Sasha Banks went one-on-one with Summer Rae. In the end, it was Sasha Banks locking in the Bank Statement, making Summer Rae tap out to pick up the win. RAW would then be host to a big debut as NXT standout Apollo Crews would go one-on-one with another former NXT star in Tyler Breeze. In an impressive performance, Apollo Crews would use his mix of power and speed to overwhelm Tyler Breeze, planting “Prince Pretty” with a spinout powerbomb, pinning Tyler Breeze to pick up the win. One night after overcoming Triple H, as well as a sledgehammer and Triple H’s wife Stephanie McMahon, at WrestleMania to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the polarizing Roman Reigns would make an appearance on RAW. Speaking through the boos from the crowd, the new champion says that he’s not a “bad guy”, he’s not a “good guy”, he’s the “good guy”. Roman then says that he beat Triple H’s ass at WrestleMania and he told Shane McMahon that, if anyone wants a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, they should get out there now! The challenge is then seemingly answered by Chris Jericho, who fresh off of a big win over AJ Styles at WrestleMania, the six-time former World Champion comes out to confront Roman Reigns. Jericho says that, from where he’s standing, Roman is just “another idiot” like everyone in the crowd. Jericho then says that Roman Reigns can’t “compare” to him and neither could AJ Styles, who he “buried” at WrestleMania. Jericho then says that he is demanding that Reigns is going to put him at the front of the line for a title shot. This brings out “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, who makes his way to the ring to confront both Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho, emphatically pointing at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, signifying that he wants the title too. Looking worse for wear after the Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, where he ultimately lost the title to Zack Ryder, Kevin Owens would make his way to the ring, also signifying that he wants a shot at the title! Kevin Owens’ rival and former friend Sami Zayn then joins the group in the ring as the Dallas fans sing Sami’s theme on his way to the ring. Much like the other men in the ring, Sami Zayn also says he wants a shot at the gold. However, this leads to a brawl between respective rivals as Sami Zayn battles Kevin Owens while AJ Styles fights with Chris Jericho as Roman Reigns watches the proceedings with a smile on his face. Taking a moment to look at the champion, Sami Zayn would then dive out of the ring, taking out Kevin Owens on the outside. Back in the ring, AJ Styles takes a moment to look back at Roman Reigns and, when Styles turns his attention back to Jericho, “Y2J” is ready, sending “The Phenomenal One” to the outside before Jericho turns right around into a Spear from Roman Reigns! The new champion then leaves the ring, leaving no clear answer as to who will be the first to challenge Reigns for the gold. Backstage, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is confronted by the man in charge for the night, Shane McMahon, who informs the new champion that the main event of the night will be a Fatal 4-Way Match between AJ Styles, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, & Sami Zayn with the winner becoming the new #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! After outlasting nineteen other competitors, including NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, in the third annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania, another NXT standout would arrive on RAW as “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin would make his RAW debut. Corbin says that he has carved a “path of devastation and broken dreams” and his arrival signifies the “end of days” for anyone who gets in his way. Baron Corbin was also in action on RAW as “The Lone Wolf” would go one-on-one with “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler. After failing to put Dolph Ziggler away with his Deep Six maneuver, Baron Corbin would bring “The Show Off” to the outside where “The Lone Wolf” would deliver a big boot that sends Dolph over the barricade into the crowd! Corbin then follows Dolph into the crowd as the referee reaches his ten-count, ending the match in a double count-out. Upon hearing the bell, Corbin shouts at the referee that “this is on you” before “The Lone Wolf” turns his focus back to Dolph Ziggler. Corbin then brings Dolph back to ringside and Dolph gets a few shots in on “The Lone Wolf” before Corbin grabs Dolph, delivering the End of Days to “The Show Off” on the floor! One night after pulling off a shocker at WrestleMania when he outlasted six other Superstars in a Ladder Match to finally get his WrestleMania moment by becoming the brand new Intercontinental Champion, Zack Ryder would make an appearance on RAW. After the fans chant “you deserve it” and “woo, woo, woo”, the new champion says that, when he was a kid, he got a picture with Razor Ramon and he got to hold Razor’s Intercontinental Title belt and, last night at WrestleMania, he got a picture with the WWE Hall of Famer, this time Ramon was holding Ryder’s Intercontinental Title belt. Ryder then thanks his dad, who’s in the front row at ringside, before the new champion is interrupted by one of his fellow Ladder Match competitors, The Miz. The Miz enters the ring, telling Ryder that he’s just a “one hit wonder” and Ryder cost him his WrestleMania moment in front of his friends and family. The new champion responds by saying “sucks to be you, bro” before The Miz says that Ryder didn’t even deserve to be in the match at WrestleMania. The Miz then says that, if Ryder wants to prove that he is worthy of holding the prestigious title, then Ryder will put the title on the line. However, the new Intercontinental Champion says that he’s got “nothing to prove” to The Miz before The Miz asks Zack Ryder if he’s afraid that he’s going to embarrass the new champion and send him back to Long Island with his “goofy dad” and prove that Ryder is just “all hype”. This fires Ryder up enough to accept The Miz’s challenge for an impromptu title match! In an impromptu match, Zack Ryder would put his newly won Intercontinental Championship on the line against The Miz on RAW. Throughout the match, both champion and challenger would struggle to cope with the injuries they sustained in the Ladder Match at WrestleMania, but when Zack Ryder goes for the Broski Boot, The Miz rolls out of the ring. On the outside, The Miz would send Ryder back-first into the ring apron before sending the champion into the barricade right in front of Ryder’s father. The Miz then actually gets in the face of Ryder’s dad, but The Miz seemingly chose the wrong dad to mess with as the jacked up father of the champion shoves The Miz down! As the match continues, The Miz’s wife Maryse would emerge from the crowd to get in the face of Zack Ryder’s dad! The former Divas Champion would then slap Ryder’s dad across the face before security restrains Maryse! Naturally, this draws the attention of Zack Ryder and The Miz takes advantage, hitting the Skull Crushing Finale on Zack Ryder, pinning Ryder to become the new Intercontinental Champion! The new Intercontinental Champion and his wife then embrace in the ring as The Miz & Maryse celebrate a well-executed plan to cheat Zack Ryder out of the Intercontinental Championship. After using the help of her Hall of Fame father, Ric Flair, to defeat Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match to be crowned the first ever WWE Women’s Champion, Charlotte and her father would be on RAW for the official presentation of the WWE Women’s Championship to Charlotte. Before bringing out the new champion, WWE Hall of Famer Lita is in the ring with Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Alicia Fox, Emma, Eva Marie, Natalya, Summer Rae, Lana, Naomi, Tamina, & Paige as the Superstars are on hand to witness history. Lita says that she didn’t have a lot of women to look up to when she was growing up, but that is not the case with the new generation of competitors. Lita continues, saying each and every Superstar in the ring with her put their bodies on the line at WrestleMania and pushed themselves “to the limit”. The Hall of Famer then says that they are going to formally award the new WWE Women’s Championship to the new champion Charlotte. This brings out the first WWE Women’s Champion in history as Charlotte makes her way to the ring with her father Ric Flair in tow. Charlotte is then handed the new title belt, saying that the title is about the Superstars in the ring who made the change happen. The new WWE Women’s Champion thanks everyone standing in the ring, saying that the WWE Women’s Championship is the “future”, sparking a “women’s wrestling” chant. Charlotte continues, saying that she wouldn’t have made history if it wasn’t for her father, Ric Flair. The champion then says that she is finally “immortalized” before saying that the energy of the crowd fueled her to her “victory” at WrestleMania. With the competitors in the ring visibly getting tired of listening to Charlotte, the champion says that some of the Superstars have been in WWE for years and never been champion, but she has been in the company for less than one year and she was the final Divas Champion and the new WWE Women’s Champion. Charlotte then addresses Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, saying “we did it” before, fed up with the new champion, Sasha Banks leaves the ring. “The Boss” then walks to the back, leading a show of no support for the new WWE Women’s Champion as Sasha is followed by Paige, Tamina, Naomi, Becky Lynch, and the rest of her peers. That is, with the exception of Natalya, who grabs a microphone at ringside, getting back into the ring as Natalya tells Charlotte that the new champion needs to learn a lesson in “humility”. Natalya says that they have had some great matches in the past, but Charlotte does not “respect” her. Charlotte insists that this is her moment before Natalya says that Charlotte can say she is “genetically superior”, but she has the “heart of a champion”. Natalya then challenges Charlotte to a match, but Charlotte says that the WWE Women’s Championship proves that her family will always be “better” than Natalya’s family! Natalya then tackles the champion, locking Charlotte in the Sharpshooter, but Ric Flair is quick to pull his daughter to safety as the new WWE Women’s Champion retreats with her father. In a rematch from their match on the WrestleMania Kickoff, The Usos would face The Dudley Boyz one more time, this time in a Tables Match where the first team to put one or both of their opponents through a table will be the winners. At the end of a chaotic match, both of The Usos would climb to the top rope with the intent of putting both Dudley Boyz through tables, but when The Usos took flight, Bubba Ray & D-Von would move out of the way as The Usos are sent crashing through the tables! This would pave the way for The Dudley Boyz to pick up the win as D-Von picks one of The Usos up and throws him through a table in the corner, earning the victory for The Dudley Boyz. Backstage, Sami Zayn is getting interviewed about the #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match later in the night when Zayn is ambushed by Kevin Owens. Owens then throws Sami into an anvil case before Owens picks his former friend up, powerbombing Zayn through a nearby table! Despite winning their Tables Match against The Usos, The Dudley Boyz were still at ringside, taking their time in heading to the back. Bubba Ray says that they can stay out there all night if they want to with D-Von asking who’s going to stop them. This would be the catalyst for another huge arrival from NXT as the colorful, confrontation NXT team of Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady make their RAW debut! This sparks a “how you doing?” chant from the crowd before Enzo delivers his trademark introduction. With the crowd reciting along, Enzo would state that his name is Enzo Amore and he is a “certified G and a bonified stud and you can’t teach that”. Enzo then introduces his tag team partner, “Big Cass”, proclaiming that Cass is “seven-foot tall and you can’t teach that”. Enzo then concludes with “bada boom, realest guys in the room, how you doin’?” as The Dudley Boyz watch from the entrance ramp, perplexed by Enzo & Cass. Enzo then addresses The Dudley Boyz, saying that if they were The Dudley Boyz, they would be “jealous” too because Bubba Ray & D-Von are “ugly as hell”! Enzo continues to insult The Dudley Boyz, firing up D-Von while Bubba Ray remains unaffected. “Big Cass” then speaks up, telling The Dudley Boyz that, if they don’t like what they have to say, come down there and “do something about it”. The Dudley Boyz appear to take the challenge, but would ultimately opt not to fight Enzo & Cass, prompting Cass to proclaim that The Dudley Boyz are “s-a-w-f-t, sawft”! With Sami Zayn getting taken out of the main event by Kevin Owens, there would be an open spot in the #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match as Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, and AJ Styles would be joined by a mystery opponent with a future shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line. As Owens, Jericho, and Styles await their opponent, the final piece of the puzzle is revealed as none other than “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro, making his return from a shoulder injury to compete in the Fatal 4-Way! During an exciting Fatal 4-Way Match, Kevin Owens would hit the Pop-Up Powerbomb on AJ Styles before Chris Jericho scores with the Codebreaker to Owens, but Cesaro breaks up the pin. It would then come down to Cesaro and Jericho alone in the ring with Jericho locking on the Walls of Jericho, but Cesaro would counter, locking in the Sharpshooter before Styles intervenes with the Phenomenal Forearm to Cesaro. “The Phenomenal One” then takes out Kevin Owens with a Pele Kick before getting caught with a Codebreaker by Jericho, but Styles kicks out! AJ Styles would then go counter-for-counter with his rival before “The Phenomenal One” plants Jericho with the Styles Clash, pinning Jericho to become the new #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship!
