WWE RAW Results: March 7, 2016By Cassidy| March 8, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results With less than four weeks to go until his Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania with control of RAW on the line, RAW kicks off with Shane McMahon. Shane says that he was watching RAW with his three sons last week, saying that he heard his father, Mr. McMahon, say that he is writing Shane out of his will and renouncing Shane as his son. Without hesitation, Shane then calls his father an “egomaniacal, miserable, old bastard” and Vince has lost his “touch” with his business, his fan base, with Shane, and with his grandsons. Shane continues, saying that it is his “destiny” to be in control of RAW and that Vince’s “tyrannical grasp” on everything will be done with, The Authority will be stopped, and the “backstage politics” will be stopped because that is “choking the life” out of WWE. Shane then says that there are so many guys in WWE who have so much talent that never get a break and then there are all the guys in WWE who get all the breaks and have “no talent” and he will put a stop to that. Shane then admits that he doesn’t know how he’s going to do it yet, but it is his “destiny” to beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania and there will be a “new legacy” when he walks out the night after WrestleMania with full control of RAW. Shane’s address is then interrupted by the sound of The Undertaker’s gong and the lights going out in the arena, but it turns out to be just a ploy to taunt the fans as, instead of The Undertaker, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon marches out onto the stage. The Chairman says that the look in Shane’s eyes was a look of “fear” when Shane heard the gong of The Undertaker, saying Shane will feel that same fear come WrestleMania. Vince says that, when he was at the office last week, he found a photo of him and Shane from when Shane was just a kid and he was about to take Shane to see his first ever wrestling match. Holding the framed picture, Vince says that he renounced Shane as his son last week before dropping the framed picture on the stage, smashing the frame to pieces and stomping on the picture. The Chairman continues, saying that Shane grew up thinking that his father was “invincible” and, somehow, Shane now thinks he is invincible, saying that he is Vincent Kennedy McMahon, but Shane is just “Vince’s son”. Vince then says that his grandsons are going to feel something that Shane has never felt before when they witness their father “fail them”, saying that the only solace Shane’s sons will have will be when Vince wraps his arms around them and tells them that at least they have “one father figure” that they can be “proud of”! Vince then says that it’s ironic that his “greatest creation” will put to rest his “greatest failure” before the Chairman calls for security as four security guards make their way towards the ring to escort Shane out of the arena. As security nears the ring, Shane warns the four men to not touch him because he’s a little “amped up” right now, but the security guards ignore the warning as one of the security guards enter the ring to try and get Shane out of the ring. However, with Vince shouting at the security guards to get him out of the ring, the first guard tentatively moves towards Shane. Then, when the security guard gets too close, “Shane-O-Mac” strikes as Shane delivers lightning quick punches to the security guard before the other three security guards come in, but Shane dispatches them in the same manner with lightning quick strikes, sending security packing! Shane then stands tall in the ring, clearly ready for a fight come WrestleMania before exiting the ring, looking at the downed security guards on the floor as he makes his exit. The Intercontinental Champion was in action in the opening match of the night as Kevin Owens would go one-on-one with “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville in a non-title match. In an excellent match, Neville would take it to the champion with his high-flying offense and would even hit the Red Arrow off of the second rope, but Kevin Owens would stay in the fight and, in the end, the desperate Intercontinental Champion would roll Neville up and grab the tights for the illegal advantage to score the win. After the match, Neville would try to explain to the referee that Owens had hold of the tights when Owens attacks Neville from behind, sending the high flyer shoulder-first into the steel ring post. The Intercontinental Champion then picks Neville up with the intent of powerbombing Neville on the ring apron, but that is when an old rival would come looking for payback as Sami Zayn rushes out, making a beeline for the man who took him out of action last year! Owens and Zayn would trade blows in the entranceway before the fight spills into the ring with Sami taking the Intercontinental Champion down. The two men then make it to their feet for a brief stare down and, when Owens tries to make a quick exit, Neville catches Owens with a kick followed up with a clothesline from Sami Zayn that sends the Intercontinental Champion out of the ring! Backstage, Stephanie McMahon confronts Dolph Ziggler and Dolph is quick to remind Stephanie that he put The Authority out of power a couple of years ago at Survivor Series, saying that history may repeat itself at WrestleMania if Shane McMahon wins his match against The Undertaker and puts The Authority out of power. Stephanie then says that, since Dolph wants to bring up history regarding Survivor Series, then Dolph will be competing in an Elimination Tag Team Match against three members of The League of Nations. Following a confrontation with Lana last week, Brie Bella was in action on RAW as Brie would go one-on-one with Summer Rae. During the match, Lana would come out to the entranceway, providing a distraction that would allow Summer Rae to catch Brie with a roll-up to pick up the win. After the match, Lana would enter the ring, delivering Brie Bella’s own Bella Buster in the center of the ring! Before he challenges Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Roadblock this Saturday night on the WWE Network, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would make an appearance on RAW. Ambrose says that WrestleMania plans were “set in stone” before he showed up and threatened to throw a wrench into everyone’s plans. Ambrose then says that he is “hijacking” the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and he is “hijacking” WrestleMania whether anyone likes it or not. Ambrose continues, saying that Triple H tried to beat some “respect” into him last week before saying that Triple H will “respect” him at WWE Roadblock when he is standing over Triple H as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Ambrose then says that he is going to be the “face” of WWE and he is going to be the kind of WWE World Heavyweight Champion that the fans “deserve”. This brings WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H out to the stage as the champion tells Dean Ambrose that the title is going to stay with him as long as he wants it to. Triple H then says that he thought that Ambrose would “know better”, but maybe Ambrose needs to make another trip to the announce table. Ambrose says that he will be making another trip to the announce table when he is standing on top of it this Saturday night as the new champion, saying that, then, Triple H can “suck it”. The champion then says that, at best, Ambrose is a “speed bump” or a “pothole” and both Ambrose and Roman Reigns have the same disdain for authority. Triple H then says that, if Ambrose keeps going down this “delusional” path, he’s going to get “hurt”. Ambrose responds by saying that he would rather be “delusional” than whatever Triple H is and Triple H says that he is “driven”. Ambrose then dares Triple H to come down to the ring and fight him, but the champion says that he fights on his “time”, saying that Ambrose will get his shot at WWE Roadblock. Triple H says that he is going to “delegate” before putting Ambrose in a match with Bray Wyatt, saying that, one way or another, Ambrose will learn that “The Authority always wins”. After a confrontation with Stephanie McMahon earlier in the night, Dolph Ziggler would suffer the consequences on RAW as “The Show Off” would be forced to face League of Nations members Sheamus, Rusev, & King Barrett in a 3-on-1 Elimination Tag Match. Much like he did at Survivor Series a couple of years ago, Dolph Ziggler would do his best to survive the odds. While Dolph was able to eliminate King Barrett following a super kick, a shot from Rusev on the outside would pave the way for Sheamus to blast Ziggler with the Brogue Kick, pinning Dolph to pick up the win for The League of Nations. Before they challenge Charlotte for the Divas Championship in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania, “The Boss” Sasha Banks would team with “The Irish Lass Kicker” Becky Lynch to face Naomi & Tamina in a rematch from Fastlane with Divas Champion Charlotte and her father Ric Flair seated at ringside. In the end, it was Sasha Banks locking in the Bank Statement on Naomi, making Naomi tap out to pick up the win for herself and Becky Lynch. After the match, Charlotte would blindside Sasha Banks, taking out “The Boss” before snapping off an exploder suplex to Becky Lynch. The Divas Champion then walks to the back with her father in tow, again leaving her WrestleMania competition laid out in the ring. After turning their intense rivalry into a formidable tag team, the team known as Y2AJ would get their shot at the gold on RAW as AJ Styles & Chris Jericho would challenge The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, for the WWE Tag Team Titles. At the end of an exciting, back-and-forth matchup between two thrilling teams, Chris Jericho would nearly have the titles won with the Walls of Jericho on Kofi Kingston, but Kofi would manage to tag out to Big E and, when Jericho went for the Codebreaker, Big E countered with the Big Ending, pinning Jericho to pick up the win and successfully retain the WWE Tag Team Titles for The New Day. After the match, Y2AJ would collect themselves in the ring as AJ Styles would help Chris Jericho to his feet, but as soon as “Y2J” is able, Jericho turns on “The Phenomenal One”, hitting the Codebreaker on Styles! Jericho would then measure Styles before delivering a second Codebreaker to AJ and Styles would try to use Jericho to climb back to his feet and, when he does, Jericho would drop “The Phenomenal One” with a third Codebreaker! Jericho then grabs one of their new “Y2AJ” shirts, symbolically stuffing the shirt in the mouth of AJ Styles. Backstage, Chris Jericho is asked about betraying AJ Styles moments earlier and Jericho says that, ever since AJ arrived in WWE, the fans have been chanting for Styles. Jericho then says that, now, the fans won’t be chanting for “The Phenomenal One” anymore. The United States Champion was in action on RAW as Kalisto would go one-on-one with Tyler Breeze in a non-title match. In the end, it was Kalisto hitting the Salida del Sol, pinning Tyler Breeze to pick up the win. Backstage, an interview with United States Champion Kalisto is interrupted by Ryback, who asks how he isn’t in the main event of WrestleMania. Ryback says that he “respects” Kalisto and, unlike superheroes like Deadpool and Iron Man, Kalisto is a “real life champion”. Ryback then says that if there’s one thing that he’s learned in WWE, it’s that tag teams only hold you back, suggesting that Kalisto strike out on his own without Sin Cara. After Adam Rose was dominated by Ryback last week, Curtis Axel would try his hand at beating “The Big Guy” as Axel, with Social Outcast teammates Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, & Adam Rose in his corner, would go one-on-one with his former tag team partner Ryback. In the end, Curtis Axel would suffer the same fate as Adam Rose as Ryback would pummel Axel with right hands before hitting Shell Shocked and pinning Axel for the win. Then it was time for the main event as, before he challenges Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday night at WWE Roadblock, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would go one-on-one with a familiar rival in the self-proclaimed “Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt. During a back-and-forth match between familiar foes, Dean Ambrose would appear to be in control after taking Bray Wyatt down with his elbow off of the top rope, but that is when Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, & Braun Strowman would appear and attack “The Lunatic Fringe”. At the behest of their leader, Harper, Rowan, & Strowman would beat Ambrose down before Bray Wyatt gets involved, pummeling Ambrose before planting “The Lunatic Fringe” with Sister Abigail in the middle of the ring. As The Wyatt Family stands tall in the ring, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H makes his way to the ring with his sights set on Dean Ambrose. Assuming that The Wyatt Family had beat down Ambrose on his behalf and that their job was done, Triple H would pay no attention to the fact that The Wyatt Family was still in the ring. However, Bray Wyatt would make himself known to the champion as “The Eater of Worlds” gets in Triple H’s face, smiling and looking at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, touching the belt before The Wyatt Family exits the ring, leaving Triple H alone with a weakened Dean Ambrose. The champion would then roll up his sleeves before heading to the outside and exposing the announce table, but this would give “The Lunatic Fringe” time to recover and, when Triple H comes back into the ring, he is caught by Ambrose as Ambrose plants the champion with Dirty Deeds! “The Lunatic Fringe” then gets to his feet, grabbing the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt and holding it high in what could be a sign of things to come this Saturday night at WWE Roadblock.
