WWE RAW Results: March 21, 2016By Cassidy| March 22, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results After having to witness her husband, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, get brutalized by Roman Reigns on last week’s RAW, RAW kicks off with WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon. After welcoming everyone to RAW, Stephanie informs everyone that her husband, Triple H, will not be on RAW tonight because he has “corporate responsibilities”, saying that it has nothing to do with Roman Reigns’ “brutal” and “opportunistic” attack on the champion last week. Stephanie continues, saying that Roman proved last week why he will never again be WWE World Heavyweight Champion because Roman lacks “intellect”, saying Reigns risked his title match at WrestleMania. Stephanie then says that the fans need to see the “bigger picture”, saying that her and her husband know a thing or two about “success”, saying that they can “buy anything and anyone”. However, the Principal Owner is interrupted by the arrival of the #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring to confront Stephanie. Stephanie says that she knew Roman Reigns was “opportunistic” since he waited until she mentioned that Triple H was not in the arena to come out there. Stephanie then starts to tell Reigns how her husband is going to beat him at WrestleMania, but the #1 Contender takes the microphone away from the Principal Owner, shushing Stephanie. Roman then says that Triple H didn’t want to come to Philadelphia because the champion knew that he would whip his ass again before saying that he is going to beat Stephanie’s husband and he is going to take his title. Reigns continues, saying that there is nothing that Stephanie or her “daddy’s money” can do about it! Stephanie then tries to slap Roman but the #1 Contender grabs the arm of the Principal Owner, telling Stephanie that, now, he’s “the authority”! The #1 Contender then exits the ring, leaving a stunned and infuriated Stephanie McMahon in the ring. In a rematch from SmackDown, the opening match of the night would see “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles square off with Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens in a non-title match on RAW. In another instant classic between AJ Styles and Kevin Owens, both veterans would pull out all the stops, which would include a picture perfect frog splash from Kevin Owens to AJ Styles! “The Phenomenal One” would kick out of the splash and, later on in the match, Styles would deliver a thunderous sunset flip powerbomb to the Intercontinental Champion, but Kevin Owens would kick out. Styles would then set up for the Phenomenal Forearm, but just like on SmackDown, Chris Jericho would come out to distract Styles, this time walking to the ring chanting “AJ Styles”. Despite the presence of Chris Jericho, AJ Styles would still manage to keep his focus on the match, nearly locking in the Calf Crusher on Kevin Owens. However, Jericho would get on the ring apron and Styles would take a swing at “Y2J” and this momentary distraction would against cost “The Phenomenal One” as the Intercontinental Champion would surprise Styles with a roll-up, scoring the three-count to pick up the win. After the match, an enraged AJ Styles would quickly exit the ring to chase after Chris Jericho, who is quick to flee to the backstage area. This leaves Kevin Owens alone in the ring to gloat about his questionable victory as the Intercontinental Champion proclaims that this is the “Kevin Owens Show”. Owens then says that everyone wants to know he will be defending the Intercontinental Championship against at “KO Mania”, but before the champion can elaborate further, Owens is interrupted by Dolph Ziggler. Entering the ring, Dolph says that there is no one more fitting to “steal the show” and take the Intercontinental Championship from Kevin Owens at WrestleMania than him. Before the Intercontinental Champion can respond, he is interrupted again, this time by The Miz. The Miz tells Dolph to step aside because he has main evented WrestleMania before, leading to an argument between the two. Sami Zayn then comes out to the ring, saying that with all due respect to The Miz and Dolph Ziggler and all that they’ve accomplished, he has been waiting a long time to get his hands on Kevin Owens and he can’t think of a better place than for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania. As The Miz tells Sami Zayn that he’s going to have to wait a while longer for his shot at Kevin Owens, the Intercontinental Champion leaves the ring and, once he’s on the outside, Owens says that none of them deserve a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. The champion then says that, in the “interest of fairness”, he is going to go and talk to The Authority and see if they can get a Triple Threat Match set up between The Miz, Dolph Ziggler, & Sami Zayn to determine who will have the “honor” of facing him for the gold at WrestleMania! At a local bar in Philadelphia, Dean Ambrose is raving about his upcoming No Holds Barred Street Fight against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania before it’s revealed that “The Lunatic Fringe” is talking to none other than one of the most unhinged and insane wrestlers in history, WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk! Funk then goes on an insane rant of his own before saying that, if he had a son, it would be just like Dean Ambrose. Much like Funk’s good friend and former tag team partner Mick Foley did last week, the hardcore legend would have a special gift for Dean Ambrose. The Hall of Famer then brings out the signature chainsaw he brought to the ring when he was known as Chainsaw Charlie! Funk then leaves Ambrose to enjoy his new gift as, much to the fear of the other bar patrons, “The Lunatic Fringe” would rev up the chainsaw before using the chainsaw on a table! With a 4-on-3 Match against The League of Nations coming up for WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day at WrestleMania, The New Day’s Big E, with Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston in his corner, would go one-on-one with Rusev, with Sheamus, King Barrett, & Alberto Del Rio in his corner. However, after The New Day had some things to say to The League of Nations, a brawl would break out between the two factions that ends with the WWE Tag Team Champions standing tall. The referee is finally able to restore order and the one-on-one match between Big E and Rusev gets underway. During the match, Sheamus, King Barrett, & Alberto Del Rio would work together to take out Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston on the outside. As the match continues, Xavier Woods would get to his feet, managing to take out both King Barrett and Alberto Del Rio before Sheamus takes Xavier down with the Brogue Kick. Sheamus then gets on the ring apron, distracting the referee, but Big E would charge full force at Sheamus, delivering a hellacious Spear to “The Celtic Warrior” to the outside. Then, with the referee’s attention on Big E, Kofi Kingston would deliver a kick to the head of Rusev, allowing Big E to hit the Big Ending and pin Rusev for the win. The winner of last year’s Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal would then make an appearance on RAW as “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show would pose next to the Andre The Giant Memorial Trophy stationed at ringside before entering the ring. Big Show says that he’s stated on many occasions that he’s the “greatest giant of all-time” before admitting that he says that because he has to believe in himself and he has to be “confident”. Big Show then says that Andre The Giant is truly the greatest giant of all-time, saying that Andre was the “first giant and the greatest giant” and, when he won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal last year, it “meant something”. Big Show continues, admitting that he hasn’t won a while lot of battle royals before saying that it’s very important for him to become a two-time Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner at this year’s WrestleMania. Fellow Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal participants The Social Outcasts then come out as Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, Adam Rose, & Curtis Axel claim that they are going to eliminate Big Show from the battle royal at WrestleMania with Adam Rose claiming that Big Show is in “trouble”. The Social Outcasts then enter the ring and Big Show grabs Heath Slater by the throat before swatting away the other three Social Outcast members. However, Slater would use a microphone shot to the head to weaken Big Show and Curtis Axel would take Big Show down with a knee to the face before The Social Outcasts put the boots to “The World’s Largest Athlete”. Kane then makes the save, tossing The Social Outcasts over the top rope to the outside with ease. Big Show then embraces “The Big Red Machine”, getting on the second rope. However, it then becomes apparent that Kane was out there to make a statement as Kane grabs Big Show by the throat and delivers a thunderous chokeslam off of the second rope! Kane then stands tall over the downed giant, having sent a clear message regarding the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. In a special WrestleMania Rewind Match from WrestleMania 29, Chris Jericho would go one-on-one with the Superstar that picked up a huge upset over the six-time former World Champion on “The Grandest Stage of Them All”, Fandango. During the match, Chris Jericho nearly had Fandango locked in the Walls of Jericho when AJ Styles comes out, chanting “Y2-Jackass”. This would distract Jericho long enough for Fandango to attempt a roll-up, but Jericho would kick out, hitting the Codebreaker and pinning Fandango for the win. After the match, Chris Jericho would dare AJ Styles to come fight him, but when AJ makes a beeline for the ring, Jericho is quick to exit the ring. Styles then says that maybe Jericho is the “best in the world” at running from him before saying that he has competed all over the world, but there is one place he hasn’t competed and that is WrestleMania. AJ then says that Jericho thinks that the fans have chosen him over Jericho before challenging “Y2J” to a match at WrestleMania, saying that he will show Jericho and the entire world why they chant “AJ Styles”! After going to Stephanie McMahon and getting a Triple Threat Match made to determine who will challenge him for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens would handle the ring announcing duties for the match. However, while everyone expects Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and Sami Zayn to be the three participants, Kevin Owens instead introduces Stardust, Sin Cara, and Zack Ryder! Kevin Owens then takes a seat at the commentary table as the Triple Threat Match gets underway. During the match, Sami Zayn would make his way out to ringside to confront Kevin Owens, followed shortly by Dolph Ziggler and The Miz, all of which have a bone to pick with the Intercontinental Champion as all four men bicker with each other. The argument is then broken up when Stardust is tossed to the outside at the feet of Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and Sami Zayn. Zack Ryder then exits the ring to retrieve Stardust and this is when Kevin Owens would toss Ryder at The Miz. The referee would then decide to call the match off as Stardust, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and Sami Zayn all attack Kevin Owens! The Intercontinental Champion then tries to escape into the ring where he blocks a dropkick from Sin Cara before sending the high flyer into Sami Zayn before Dolph tackles Owens, sparking a scramble among all seven Superstars, six of which want a piece of Kevin Owens. However, the Intercontinental Champion would roll out of the ring as Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Stardust, Sin Cara, & Zack Ryder all stand in the ring with nothing resolved in terms of who will face Kevin Owens at WrestleMania. Backstage, Kevin Owens barges into Stephanie McMahon’s office while the Principal Owner is on the phone, demanding that what just happened to him be addressed. The Intercontinental Champion claims that none of them deserve a shot at the title at WrestleMania. Annoyed with the champion, Stephanie says that it’s not called “KO Mania”, it’s called “WrestleMania” before saying that Kevin Owens will put the Intercontinental Title on the line against all six of them! Outraged, Kevin Owens asks for an explanation before saying that her husband, Triple H, thinks very highly of him. Stephanie says that she’s the one in front of him and she’s calling the shots before making things even worse for the Intercontinental Champion, announcing that, not only will Kevin Owens defend the title against Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Stardust, Sin Cara, & Zack Ryder at WrestleMania, but he will do so in a Ladder Match! Backstage, a black SUV is waiting in the parking lot for Stephanie McMahon, who is getting ready to leave the arena. When the Principal Owner gets to the vehicle, she is greeted by her husband, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, who cautiously looks around for Roman Reigns before Triple H and Stephanie get into the SUV together. However, when the garage door is raised for their exit, Roman Reigns is standing in the open doorway, blocking The Authority’s exit! Roman then marches right up to the SUV and opens the door, pulling Triple H right out of the vehicle as Stephanie screams in horror. The #1 Contender pummels Triple H before throwing the champion into the back end of the SUV. “The Game” then scrambles to escape Reigns, catching Roman with a right hand that allows Triple H’s escape as the champion quickly jumps in the SUV, which speeds out of the arena as Triple H narrowly escapes another hellacious assault. With the two challengers in the Triple Threat Match for the Divas Championship at WrestleMania, Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, guests on commentary, Divas Champion Charlotte, with her father Ric Flair in her corner, would go one-on-one with Natalya in a non-title rematch from WWE Roadblock. Despite an impressive performance by Natalya, Charlotte would persevere, scoring with Natural Selection and pinning Natalya for the win. After the match, Charlotte would hold the Divas Title belt high, not taking her eyes off of Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch. Less than two weeks before they face The Usos at WrestleMania, The Dudley Boyz were on RAW as Bubba Ray Dudley, with D-Von Dudley in his corner, would go one-on-one with R-Truth. During the match, D-Von Dudley would get on the ring apron and, much like on SmackDown, the distraction would pay off as Bubba Ray would score with a big boot, pinning R-Truth for the win. After the match, The Dudley Boyz would look to beat R-Truth down, but Goldust would rush out to make the save. However, Goldust would also succumb to The Dudley Boyz before The Usos rush out for a piece of The Dudley Boyz. The twin brothers take it to Bubba Ray & D-Von, taking both legends down before The Usos pull a table out from under the ring, setting it up in the ring. One Uso then puts D-Von on the table before both Usos climb to the top rope, but Bubba Ray rushes in to save his partner as The Dudley Boyz narrowly escape once again. With the promise of a major announcement regarding the Hell in a Cell Match between Shane McMahon and The Undertaker with control of RAW on the line for Shane at WrestleMania, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon would make an appearance on RAW. The Chairman runs down the stakes of the Hell in a Cell Match at WrestleMania, saying that if a “miracle” were to happen and his son Shane wins at WrestleMania, then there’s a good chance that the fans will never see Triple H, Stephanie, or himself ever again. Vince then says that the fans “enable” Shane and make him do things that he would not normally do, showing what happened last week when he shoved his son into a chokeslam from The Undertaker. The Chairman continues, saying that “nothing” will stop Shane at WrestleMania, even saying that his son is the “most formidable opponent” The Undertaker has ever had at WrestleMania. Vince then says that The Undertaker “damn well better” defeat Shane at WrestleMania before saying that, not only is The Undertaker his “instrument of destruction”, but as Shane said last week, The Undertaker is also his “bitch”! With a smirk on his face, the Chairman then makes the shocking announcement that, if The Undertaker does not defeat Shane at WrestleMania, then this year’s WrestleMania will be The Undertaker’s last! With Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman a guest on commentary, it was time for the main event as, thirteen nights before he collides with Brock Lesnar in a No Holds Barred Street Fight at WrestleMania, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would go one-on-one with the mastodon of The Wyatt Family, Braun Strowman, with Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, & Erick Rowan in his corner. During the match, Dean Ambrose would do his best to combat his larger opponent before sending Braun Strowman shoulder-first into the steel ring post. “The Lunatic Fringe” would then grab a steel chair from ringside, using the chair on the shoulder of Strowman, ending the match by disqualification. Ambrose then enters the ring with the chair, using the weapon to get the better of the mastodon. However, a brief distraction from Luke Harper & Erick Rowan would give Strowman a chance to fight back against Dean Ambrose, but when Braun goes to pick up the steel chair, Ambrose pounces on the big man, hitting Strowman with a clothesline before spiking Braun with Dirty Deeds on the chair! The rest of The Wyatt Family then swarms the ring to check on Braun Strowman as Dean Ambrose quickly exits the ring, glaring at Paul Heyman and having some choice words for Brock Lesnar’s advocate.
