WWE RAW Results: February 29, 2016By Cassidy| March 1, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results One week after savagely beating his WrestleMania challenger, Roman Reigns, to the point of shattering Roman’s nose and forcing Roman to undergo nasal reconstruction surgery, RAW kicks off with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as Triple H makes his way to the ring. Triple H says that a select few have “authority” and the rest “bow down to it”, saying that everyone has an “authority figure” in their life and that authority figure tells them what to do, where to go, how to dress, and every one of them hates it. The champion continues, saying that they want to stand up to that authority figure, but they don’t because they are “afraid”, saying that nature provides that fear so that they will all know their “place in life”. Triple H then says that Roman Reigns should have “known his place”, but he didn’t and Roman chose to “challenge” him and “disrespect” him, saying that his disrespect got him beat up and is sitting at home breathing through his mouth. Triple H continues, saying that you “do not challenge authority”, but the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is then interrupted by “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose, making his way to the ring to confront Triple H. Still feeling the effects of getting beat down by Brock Lesnar last week, Dean Ambrose would get into the ring as “The Lunatic Fringe” says that he just got off of the phone with Roman Reigns and Roman said that he’s “coming for” Triple H. Triple H responds by telling Ambrose that he was the “Best Supporting Actor in a Bromance” before Ambrose says that he wanted to have a chat with Triple H last week, but last week was a “very busy” night. Ambrose then asks Triple H who he didn’t want to win the Triple Threat Match at Fastlane that was ultimately won by Roman Reigns, earning Reigns his title shot against Triple H in the main event of WrestleMania. However, the champion says that the question is “irrelevant” before saying that the only ones that mattered in that match were Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, saying that it’s easy to see how Ambrose wasn’t even a “factor” in the Triple Threat Match. Ambrose then gets in the champion’s face, saying that he’s pretty sure that he’s the “last guy” that Triple H wanted to face at WrestleMania. Triple H laughs in Ambrose’s face, saying that Ambrose is “mental” before saying that Triple H is “smart enough” to know that he can’t beat Ambrose and they’ve known that for a long time. Ambrose continues, saying that he can tell just by looking at the champion that Triple H doesn’t think that he can even beat Ambrose. Triple H then says that he has “money and power”, which is two things that Dean Ambrose doesn’t know about. Ambrose then asks the champion for some “action”, challenging Triple H to a match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! Ambrose then says that Roman Reigns won the right to be in the main event of WrestleMania to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but that doesn’t mean that Triple H will be the champion come April 3. Triple H says that it doesn’t worth that way, saying that he is the “authority” in WWE and Ambrose’s “thoughts and ideas” mean nothing before saying that the match “intrigues” him and he will take it “under advisement”, telling Ambrose that he will give him an answer by the end of the night. The champion then informs Dean Ambrose that he has a match tonight as Ambrose will go one-on-one with League of Nations’ member Alberto Del Rio, telling Ambrose that they will see if he can learn to “respect” authority. Triple H then exits the ring, leaving Dean Ambrose alone in the ring. The opening match of the night would determine the #1 Contender for the Divas Championship as “The Boss” Sasha Banks would go one-on-one with “The Irish Lass Kicker” Becky Lynch with the winner challenging Charlotte for the Divas Championship at WrestleMania with Divas Champion Charlotte and her father Ric Flair seated at ringside. During the match, Becky would catch Sasha on the top rope, drilling “The Boss” with several headbutts, but the headbutts would appear to take their toll on Becky as well and Sasha would take advantage with a sunset flip to Becky. However, once Sasha and Becky hit the mat, Sasha collapses from the headbutts on the top rope and, with both Becky and Sasha’s shoulders down, the referee counts the pinfall and calls for the bell, ending the match with a double pinfall and the referee rules the match a Draw, meaning neither Sasha or Becky win the match and neither are the #1 Contender! Thinking that she won’t have to defend the Divas Title at WrestleMania, a grinning Charlotte parades around the ring with her title as Sasha and Becky look on confused and disappointed. Familiar rivals would then face off on RAW as “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler would go one-on-one with the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz. In a quick match, it was The Miz surprising Dolph Ziggler with a roll-up as the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” picks up the win, surprising Dolph and even himself. After her acceptance speech for the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award was interrupted by the return of her brother, Shane McMahon, on last week’s RAW, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon would make an appearance on RAW. With the award stationed in the ring, Stephanie McMahon would bring her speech with her to the ring. As the crowd “boos” her speech and chants “We Want Shane”, Stephanie would start to read her acceptance speech before closing her folder and picking up the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award. Holding the award, Stephanie says that she works every day of her life and often sacrifices time with her family to help put on a show for the fans, but the fans disrespect her with chants of “We Want Shane”. Stephanie then shoves the award stand over before saying that Shane “blackmailed” their father and WWE and the fans cheer for it. Stephanie continues, saying that Shane can just waltz in and demand control of WWE before saying that, if Shane really cared about the McMahon family, it would have been nice if Shane would have showed up every once in a while. Stephanie then says that Shane hasn’t even been to a WrestleMania, let alone RAW, for seven years. Stephanie continues, saying that Shane has made it clear that he doesn’t care about his family, saying that, every time she turns around, Shane stabs her in the back. Stephanie then says that Shane hates that her and Triple H are married and it “eats him alive” that she wields so much power, saying that Shane’s sons will have to fight to run WWE just like her daughters will have to. Stephanie continues, saying that the very thought of her and Triple H having to work for Shane makes her “vomit”, but she’s not going to have to worry about that because The Undertaker is going to “dismember” Shane at WrestleMania. Stephanie then says that, after WrestleMania, Shane can take a more “permanent vacation” before saying that Shane is a reflection of the fans, saying that that they all have a “chip” on their shoulders. Stephanie then declares that there is no “denying” her and Triple H’s legacy of excellence and, sooner or later, they will be forced to show their respect and “bow down” to their “king”, Triple H, and their “queen”, referring to herself. Stephanie then exits the ring, storming to the back with her Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award in hand. The Lucha Dragons would have a tall task ahead of them on RAW as Sin Cara & United States Champion Kalisto would face The League of Nations’ Sheamus & Rusev, with King Barrett & Alberto Del Rio in their corner. In the end, it was a distraction from Alberto Del Rio that would allow Rusev to catch Kalisto with a kick to the head as Rusev pins the United States Champion to pick up the win for himself and Sheamus. After the match, Alberto Del Rio would attack Kalisto, planting the United States Champion with the double stomp to Kalisto’s chest before The League of Nations celebrate. After abandoning Kane & Big Show during a 6-Man Tag match against The Wyatt Family and explaining that the spotlight belongs on him and him alone, Ryback was in action on RAW as “The Big Guy” would face Adam Rose, with his Social Outcast teammates Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, & Curtis Axel in his corner. During the match, Ryback would show his newfound ruthlessness, relentlessly pummeling Adam Rose with right hands before the referee is able to pull Ryback off of Rose. Ryback then follows this up with Shell Shocked, pinning Adam Rose for the win before Ryback exits the ring and walks to the back, not even staying to celebrate his win. After putting their differences aside to form a formidable new tag team on last week’s RAW, AJ Styles & Chris Jericho, collectively known as Y2AJ, would face WWE Tag Team Champions Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, in a non-title match. At the end of a wild match, Kofi Kingston would go for Trouble in Paradise, but Chris Jericho would catch Kofi, locking in the Walls of Jericho, making Kofi tap out to pick up the win for Y2AJ over the WWE Tag Team Champions. After the match, AJ Styles tells The New Day that their win just put them at the top of the list for a shot at the WWE Tag Team Champions. Chris Jericho then says that Y2AJ are the “new big thing” before challenging The New Day to put the WWE Tag Team Titles on the line against Y2AJ on next week’s RAW! Following the shocking return of his son, Shane McMahon, on last week’s RAW and the subsequent booking of Shane against The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania with control of RAW on the line, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon would make an appearance on RAW. The Chairman says that it will be a “miracle” if Shane McMahon beats The Undertaker at WrestleMania and, if Shane does so, he will have control of RAW and, essentially, the entire company and, as a result, Triple H & Stephanie would have to “quit the business”. McMahon continues, saying that Shane would put him on some sort of “corporate sidelines” and he’d “never see the light of day” again. The Chairman then says that the fans would rally behind Shane in the hopes of Shane leading them into a “new era” of WWE never obtained before. McMahon then says that none of that is going to happen, saying that only “fools” believe in miracles, saying that he still “loves” Shane and he loves Shane enough to put him in the ring against the “most coldhearted, destructive force in the history of WWE”. The Chairman continues, saying that he loves Shane enough to put him in a match befitting that “unnatural force of nature” and that unnatural force of nature is his “instrument of destruction”, The Undertaker. With that introduction, the lights go out in the arena and the legendary gong sounds in the arena that signifies the arrival of “The Phenom” The Undertaker. Appearing for the first time since Survivor Series, “The Deadman” makes his methodical walk to the ring to confront Mr. McMahon. The Chairman says that The Undertaker is his “force of destruction”, but before Mr. McMahon can continue, The Undertaker grabs Vince by the throat! The Undertaker tells McMahon that he knows what will happen when he closes the door to Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania and the Chairman knows what he does, saying that the “blood” of Vince’s son is going to be on the Chairman’s hands, not his. Having said what he came there to say, The Undertaker then leaves the ring, leaving a stunned Mr. McMahon in the ring. The Chairman then grabs a drink of water before continuing his address, saying that, after WrestleMania, he will recognize that his son Shane has not only lost his match, but lost his “inheritance” as well. McMahon then says that, after WrestleMania, he will write Shane out of his will and give everything in his will to Stephanie! The Chairman then says that, after WrestleMania, he will “renounce” Shane as his son and Shane will no longer be his son, Shane will just be a “son of a bitch”! With the crowd stunned by the words of the Chairman, Mr. McMahon would stand in the ring, appearing distraught over the declaration he just made regarding his only son. After interference from Bubba Ray Dudley allowed D-Von Dudley to defeat Jimmy Uso on SmackDown, Jey Uso, with Jimmy Uso in his corner, would go one-on-one with Bubba Ray Dudley, with D-Von Dudley in his corner. During the match, D-Von would pull a table out from under the ring in an attempt to distract Jey Uso, but Jimmy Uso would rush around ringside to take out D-Von. However, when Jimmy leaps at D-Von, D-Von throws the table in the face of Jimmy, taking Jimmy out before Jey blasts D-Von with a super kick! The distraction would ultimately pay off once Jey heads back into the ring as Bubba Ray hits the Bubba Bomb, pinning Jey for the win. Following a count-out victory over Big Show on SmackDown, Kevin Owens would have to contend with “The World’s Largest Athlete” in a rematch on RAW as Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens would face Big Show in a non-title match. During the match, Kevin Owens would repeatedly try to get another count-out victory over Big Show, but Big Show would get a measure of revenge, racking the Intercontinental Champion up on the top rope and Owens would fall to the outside of the ring, ultimately earning a count-out win over Kevin Owens. Backstage, an interview with Brie Bella regarding her husband, Daniel Bryan, and her sister, Nikki, is interrupted by Lana. Lana says that Brie is loved by so many but she always manages to “bite the big one”, saying that Americans don’t understand what it’s like to be a “true woman”. Lana then says that she has a “figure” while Brie is “skin and bones” and, while her partner is a “brute”, Brie has a “tiny, little husband”. Lana continues, saying that Daniel Bryan can’t even fight for Brie while Rusev gets Lana everything she wants and the fans cheer Brie because they “pity” Brie. Lana then coldly tells Brie that, much like her marriage, Brie is “doomed to fail”. Brie responds by saying that, when Lana decides to step into the ring, then they can talk, but until then, Lana should go back to her “cave” and tell her “Neanderthal fiancé” that Rusev was great as a bear in the movie, “The Revenant”, commenting that Rusev needs to shave his back before Brie walks off, leaving an unamused Lana behind. Moments after a confrontation with Lana backstage, Brie Bella was in action on RAW as Brie would go one-on-one with Naomi, with Tamina in her corner. In the end, it was a distraction from Tamina that would allow Naomi to take advantage, locking in the Slay-o-mission, making Brie tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Lana would come out to the stage, laughing at Brie’s loss. Backstage, an argument between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks is interrupted by the Divas Champion Charlotte and her father Ric Flair. Charlotte informs Becky and Sasha that they will have a rematch on SmackDown to determine, once and for all, who will challenge for the Divas Title at WrestleMania. The champion then says that one of them is going to fall into “obscurity” while the other will become the answer to a “trivia question”. As he awaits an answer from Triple H regarding a one-on-one match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the main event would see “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose square off with The League of Nations’ Alberto Del Rio, with Sheamus, Rusev, & King Barrett in his corner. Throughout the match, Del Rio would target the injured upper body of Dean Ambrose, locking in the cross armbreaker on Ambrose in the ropes and even delivering his double stomp to “The Lunatic Fringe” on the arena floor, but Ambrose would continue to fight back. Despite the abuse suffered throughout the match at the hands of Alberto Del Rio, Ambrose would keep fighting back and would even dive to the outside, taking out the entire League of Nations! However, when “The Lunatic Fringe” rolls back into the ring, he is met by the arrival of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, but with Ambrose’s attention on the champion, Triple H would signal to The League of Nations. The League of Nations would then blindside Dean Ambrose, beating “The Lunatic Fringe” down before Del Rio drops Ambrose with a kick to the face. Triple H then shakes the hands of The League of Nations before the group exits the ring, leaving Ambrose all alone with the champion. Triple H then gets down on Ambrose’s level, telling Ambrose that he is “never going to beat the authority”, but Ambrose would catch the champion with a right hand, getting a few shots in on Triple H before “The Game” retaliates with a Pedigree to Ambrose in the middle of the ring. Triple H then accepts Dean Ambrose’s challenge for a one-on-one match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! The champion then exits the ring, but Dean Ambrose drags himself over to the microphone to tell Triple H “thanks”. Triple H then rolls up his sleeves and comes back to the ring as the champion tosses Ambrose out of the ring before hurling “The Lunatic Fringe” over the announce table. Triple H then tosses commentator Byron Saxton out of the way before “The Game” puts Ambrose on the announce table, repeatedly blasting Ambrose with right hands as referees rush out to try and break it up. The group of referees then manage to pull Triple H off of Ambrose and the champion makes one last circle of the announce table before grabbing his title belt and walking to the back, leaving Dean Ambrose laid out on the announce table.
