WWE RAW Results: February 1, 2016By Cassidy| February 2, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results It would not take long for business to pick up on RAW as, three weeks before he, along with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, compete in a Triple Threat Match at Fastlane to determine who will challenge Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, RAW kicks off with “The Beast” as Brock Lesnar makes his way to the ring with his advocate Paul Heyman in tow. Heyman says that, at the Royal Rumble, The Wyatt Family hatched a “conspiracy” to remove Brock Lesnar from the WWE World Heavyweight Title picture, but their plan “failed”. Heyman then says that, whenever Brock feels like it, Lesnar will enforce the “eleventh commandment” that “thou shall not intentionally provoke” Brock Lesnar. Heyman continues, turning his attention to the Triple Threat Match at Fastlane, billing the match as being “brother vs. brother vs. beast”, reiterating that the winner of the Triple Threat Match will challenge Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. Heyman then says that, at Fastlane, Brock Lesnar will “imprison” both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in “Suplex City” and that Brock will stack both Reigns and Ambrose up in the middle of the ring and pin them both at the same time and go on to the main event of WrestleMania! Heyman then declares that, at WrestleMania, Lesnar will “conquer” the “billion dollar trophy husband” Triple H to once again become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Heyman then says that Roman Reigns already knows what it’s like to step up against Brock Lesnar and get “put back down”, saying that Reigns needs to explain this to Dean Ambrose and saying that Ambrose used to ride the “short bus” and calling the Intercontinental Champion a “nut job”. Paul Heyman’s address is then interrupted by the Intercontinental Champion himself as the fearless Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring, coming face-to-face with Brock Lesnar. As “The Beast” continues to stare him down, Ambrose says that he’s never been in a beast’s “lair” before. Ambrose says that he’s not “stupid” and he has all the respect in the world for Brock Lesnar, but he’s out there to tell Brock that he wants the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Ambrose then admits that he doesn’t really want to fight Brock Lesnar and he is well aware of the beating that he is sure to endure at Fastlane before telling Brock “take me to Suplex City baby”! The Intercontinental Champion continues, saying that he hopes that Lesnar is prepared to give out the worst beating that he has ever given out, saying that he is the “iron man” of WWE and he will drag his “broken body” into WrestleMania and he will take the title from Triple H. Ambrose then says that, out of respect, he just thought he would come out there and tell that to Brock Lesnar before saying that he wanted to come out there and see what all the “fuss” was about. Ambrose then leaves the ring, leaving an amused Brock Lesnar in the ring, laughing at what the Intercontinental Champion had to say. With former champion Alberto Del Rio a guest on commentary, the man who defeated him for the United States Championship at the Royal Rumble was in action on RAW as United States Champion Kalisto would go one-on-one with Del Rio’s League of Nations cohort “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, with Lana in his corner, in a non-title match. During the match, the action would spill to the outside where Kalisto would deliver a kick that sends Rusev into the steel steps. Rusev would then try to throw Kalisto over the announce table, but Kalisto would land on his feet before diving onto Rusev and sending “The Bulgarian Brute” face-first into the barricade. Kalisto then quickly hops into the ring just in time to beat the count, earning a count-out victory over Rusev. After the match, Alberto Del Rio charges the ring, but Kalisto quickly escapes the angry Del Rio as Del Rio is left shouting at Rusev. Backstage, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are waiting in The Authority’s office next to a glass case that houses the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt. WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon then enters the office, saying that Roman Reigns knows what it’s like to have the opportunity to be on the grand stage of WrestleMania, challenging for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Roman responds by saying that, after Fastlane, either he or Ambrose will be a whole lot closer to the title. Stephanie then says that “absolute power corrupts absolutely” before saying that she doesn’t know how much longer Dean Ambrose wants to be referred to as “Roman Reigns’ sidekick”. Reigns and Ambrose appear to see right through Stephanie’s manipulative tactics before Stephanie says that they will see how “united” they are when they team up in the main event against The New Day, saying that, “one way or another”, they will be “divided” and they will “fall” come Fastlane. Backstage, an interview with Brie Bella regarding her sister Nikki, who is recovering from neck surgery, is interrupted by Divas Champion Charlotte and her father Ric Flair. Charlotte would take credit for injuring Nikki Bella, saying that she doesn’t need to apologize before saying that Nikki Bella is enjoying the new phase of her life, which is sitting at home and doing her shopping online. The 2015 Slammy Award winners for Tag Team of the Year were in action on RAW as The Usos would face The Social Outcasts’ Curtis Axel & Adam Rose, with Heath Slater in their corner. In the end, it was Jey Uso taking flight, scoring with the Uso Splash, pinning Adam Rose to pick up the win for The Usos. The Miz is then in the ring as the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” would host his talk show segment, Miz TV, with special guest AJ Styles. Before bringing out his guest, The Miz says that the world has been “buzzing” about AJ Styles before saying that Miz TV is not just a talk show, it is a “forum for storytelling”. The Miz then says that AJ Styles’ story is “phenomenal” before introducing “The Phenomenal One” himself as AJ Styles makes his way to the ring, making his first appearance on Miz TV. The Miz then asks AJ Styles who he is, but instead of letting his guest talk, The Miz opts to tell AJ’s story of his roots in Georgia to his time as a football player. The Miz then continues to keep the spotlight on himself, saying that AJ would become a big star on the independent circuit, competing in “hole-in-the-wall” towns but always wondering what it would be like to compete in WWE. The Miz continues, saying that Styles would make it to WWE and would debut in the Royal Rumble Match, saying that Styles beat Chris Jericho in his RAW debut match last week. The Miz then asks AJ where he’s going to go from there, but The Miz again refuses to let “The Phenomenal One” answer, saying that AJ reminds him a lot of Daniel Bryan. The Miz then says that Bryan was a “tiny guy with a big heart”, claiming that Bryan didn’t do anything or “relevance” until he took Bryan on as a protégé, saying that he is the “father of the Yes Movement”. The Miz continues, saying that he wants to “mentor” AJ Styles and take AJ to heights that he’s never been to before and all that AJ has to do is say “yes”. However, when the fans start booing Miz and chanting “no”, The Miz is quick to change his tone, saying that there’s a reason that Styles might have been a “big fish in a small pond”, but the fact still remains that WWE is an “ocean full of sharks” and AJ will “drown” if he keeps listening to the fans. The Miz then calls Styles a “rookie redneck”, saying that there is “no chance in hell” that Styles can make it in WWE without The Miz’s help. Having heard enough, AJ Styles would unload on The Miz, tossing The Miz around the ring and pummeling The Miz with right hands before The Miz manages to scramble away, leaving a fired up AJ Styles in the ring. Following a confrontation earlier in the night, the Divas Champion was in action on RAW as Charlotte, with her two-time Hall of Fame father Ric Flair in her corner, would face Brie Bella, with Alicia Fox in her corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Brie Bella would lock in a sleeper hold on Charlotte and Ric Flair would get on the ring apron, ignoring Alicia Fox’s attempts to try and get “The Nature Boy” down. The Hall of Famer would then instruct his daughter to go for the Figure-Eight, but this would end up costing Charlotte as Brie Bella counters into a roll-up, securing the three-count to pick up the win over the Divas Champion! After helping Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, & Chris Jericho fight off The Wyatt Family on SmackDown, Big Show was in action on RAW as “The World’s Largest Athlete” would go one-on-one with The Wyatt Family’s Erick Rowan, with Luke Harper & Braun Strowman in his corner. Before the match begins, Luke Harper & Braun Strowman surround Big Show on the outside, but once the giant grabs the steel steps, Harper & Strowman back off, letting Big Show enter the ring as the match begins. Despite Luke Harper and Braun Strowman’s best efforts, Big Show would still plant Erick Rowan with a chokeslam, pinning Rowan to pick up the win. After the match, Big Show and Braun Strowman would come face-to-face before the fight would break out between the two big men. However, Harper & Rowan are quick to jump in as Harper, Rowan, & Strowman beat Big Show down before Rowan hits the spinning heel kick on “The World’s Largest Athlete”. Harper then catches Big Show with a big boot before Strowman runs Big Show over with a big clothesline. The three Wyatt Family members then drag Big Show to the outside, sending Big Show into the steel steps before Harper blasts Big Show with a super kick. Rowan & Strowman then lift “The World’s Largest Athlete” up, slamming Big Show spine-first onto the bottom half of the steel steps, having completely decimated the largest threat to their dominance! “Prince Pretty” was in action on RAW as Tyler Breeze would go one-on-one with Titus O’Neil. In the end, it was Titus O’Neil hitting the Clash of the Titus, pinning Tyler Breeze for the win. Backstage, a conversation between Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman is interrupted by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, wanting to talk to “The Beast” alone. Triple H asks Brock if he really saw Dean Ambrose get in the face of Brock Lesnar and “live to tell the story”, asking Brock is things are getting “soft in Suplex City”. Lesnar scoffs at Triple H before saying that they will see at WrestleMania, saying that he “looks forward to it”. In a rematch from last week’s RAW, Kevin Owens would go one-on-one with “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler. During a stellar match between two premier Superstars, Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler would go blow-for-blow with Dolph even hitting the Famouser on Owens on the outside. After a super kick fails to put Dolph away, Owens would hit a modified version of his Cannonball before going for the Pop-Up Powerbomb, but Ziggler counters, scoring with the Zig Zag, pinning Owens to pick up a hard-fought win. After the match, Kevin Owens would throw a fit on the outside, throwing some papers at Michael Cole before storming to the back. Before going one-on-one with Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks would have a few things to say as “The Boss” says that she is tired of sitting in the back and watching other Divas steal her “spotlight”. Sasha then says that is why she is on her own and no one is going to stop her from becoming the Divas Champion, saying that Becky Lynch may be “crying” about her loss at the Royal Rumble and Brie Bella may have beaten the champion, but neither of them hold a candle to her. This brings out Sasha’s former Team B.A.D. teammates Naomi & Tamina, saying that it’s a “proud moment” for them. Sasha says that she “respects” Naomi & Tamina, but she is there to be the “best” before Tamina says that she feels the same way. Now in the ring, Naomi says that they are veterans and they know that partnerships don’t last forever and, at some point, they all have to create their “own legacy”. Naomi then says that they can be competitors but still be “sisters” and Sasha asks if they are going to “support” her and have her back. Sasha then says that she still wants the three of them to have “unity”. In a rematch from last week’s RAW, Sasha Banks would have her former Team B.A.D. teammates Naomi & Tamina in her corner as “The Boss” goes one-on-one with Becky Lynch. During the match, Sasha Banks would knock Becky Lynch to the outside where, in full view of the referee, Naomi & Tamina were about to beat Becky down. However, Sasha was quick to exit the ring, keeping Naomi & Tamina from costing her the match, saying that she doesn’t “need” Naomi & Tamina and she didn’t ask them to be in her corner. Sasha then rolls Becky back into the ring before the argument continues on the outside, which leads to Sasha shoving Naomi and Naomi shoving back. Sasha then tries to get back into the ring to continue the match, but Naomi & Tamina pull Sasha back out of the ring, ending the match by disqualification. Naomi & Tamina then put the boots to their former friend and this is when Becky would decide to even the odds, exiting the ring to help Sasha fight off Naomi & Tamina! The fight then spills into the ring where Sasha & Becky get the better of Naomi & Tamina, sending Naomi & Tamina packing from the ring. Sasha & Becky then stand tall in the ring as the crowd chants “NXT” in support of this new partnership, born of a shared beginning in NXT. Then it was time for the main event as Fastlane opponents and ‘brothers-in-arms’ Roman Reigns and Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose would face WWE Tag Team Champions Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, with Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman a guest on commentary. During a wild match, things would completely break down on the outside after Kofi Kingston takes Dean Ambrose down as Roman Reigns would take out Kingston. Big E then grabs Reigns and slams Roman on the announce table, but Reigns would soon return to the ring, taking Kofi out with the Superman Punch before Ambrose hits Big E with Dirty Deeds, pinning Big E to pick up the win for Reigns & Ambrose. After the match, Brock Lesnar would come out as “The Beast” would methodically make his way towards the ring, but with Reigns & Ambrose’s attention on Brock, The New Day would strike as Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods would blindside Reigns & Ambrose. In the middle of the fight, Reigns and Kofi would take their fight to the outside, taking each other out while, in the ring, “The Beast” would pick his spot as Brock Lesnar would enter the ring, grabbing Dean Ambrose and leveling the Intercontinental Champion with the F-5! Brock Lesnar then exits the ring with a smile on his face, having given Dean Ambrose his first taste of the F-5 and re-asserting his dominance three weeks before Fastlane.
