WWE RAW Results: January 11, 2016By Cassidy| January 12, 2016 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results RAW kicks off with Superstars filling the stage as Sheamus, Rusev, Kevin Owens, Ryback, Kalisto, R-Truth, King Barrett, Fandango, Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, The Dudley Boyz, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, The Usos, Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, Adam Rose, Curtis Axel, WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, and United States Champion Alberto Del Rio, among others, all stand on the stage. The sea of competitors is then split with the arrival of WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon and his daughter, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, as father and daughter make their way to the ring. Gesturing towards the Superstars on the stage, Mr. McMahon says that someone on the stage is going to be the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion after the Royal Rumble. Stephanie then says that one of them is going to be “the man” and it all starts with them throwing current champion Roman Reigns over the top rope. The Chairman says that it is “every man for himself” in the Royal Rumble Match before both McMahons bring up Superstars like Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, and any of the three members of The New Day as potential Rumble winners. This is when The Wyatt Family would appear at ringside as, with Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, & Braun Strowman standing in front of him on the floor, Bray Wyatt would stand on top of the announce table, saying that it’s just like he’s said in the past, “anyone but you, Roman”. McMahon then says that anyone could walk out as the champion, suggesting that even “The Beast” Brock Lesnar could be the new champion. Mr. McMahon and Stephanie McMahon are then interrupted by the arrival of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns as the champion glances at The Wyatt Family before entering the ring. The McMahons ask what Roman Reigns is doing out there and the champion responds with a question of his own, asking what will happen if he wins. Stephanie bursts out laughing at this possibility before The McMahons announce an unheard of match as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will compete in the first ever One Versus All Match against a to-be-determined number of Superstars as the Chairman explains that Roman could be facing ten, twenty, or even thirty of the Superstars standing on the stage! Stephanie then suggests that Reigns could even find himself facing his ‘brother’ Dean Ambrose later tonight, but Mr. McMahon corrects his daughter, saying that Ambrose is actually competing in the opening match tonight. An unsuspecting Ambrose is then blindsided by Sheamus as “The Celtic Warrior” takes the Intercontinental Champion down before Mr. McMahon reveals that Ambrose will go one-on-one with Sheamus. Per the orders of The McMahons, the opening match of the night would see Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose square off with “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus in a non-title match. During the intense match, Dean Ambrose would attempt a dive to the outside to Sheamus, but Sheamus would block Ambrose before repeatedly tossing the Intercontinental Champion into the ringside barricade. After sending Ambrose shoulder-first into the steel steps, Sheamus would try to send Ambrose into the steel ring post, but, as the match ends by double count-out, Ambrose counters Sheamus, sending “The Celtic Warrior” into the ring post. Ambrose would then repeatedly smash Sheamus’ face into the post, resulting in a vicious wound on Sheamus’ head. As blood runs down the face of “The Celtic Warrior”, Ambrose sends Sheamus into the steel steps before sending Sheamus chest-first into the announce table. Ambrose then sends Sheamus into the steel steps again before exposing the announce table, but when the Intercontinental Champion turns his back, Kevin Owens attacks Ambrose from behind, pummeling Ambrose with right hands. Referees would then rush out to break up the fight, but Owens would break free, getting a few extra shots in on Ambrose before finally heading to the back. Backstage, Mr. McMahon and Stephanie McMahon run into Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar’s advocate says that his client is a “prize fighter”, saying that Brock wants to fight for the “biggest prize of them all” on the “biggest stage of them all”, WrestleMania. Heyman continues, saying that there is “no bigger box office” than the WWE World Heavyweight Champion heading into WrestleMania to defend the title against McMahon’s “biggest box office attraction” Brock Lesnar. The Chairman says that he doesn’t like that idea before Stephanie suggests that they discuss the matter behind closed doors as Stephanie asks Heyman to follow her into their office, followed shortly by Mr. McMahon. In a rematch from last week’s RAW, “The Prince of Dark Matter” Stardust would go one-on-one with Titus O’Neil. In the end, the result was the same as last week as Titus O’Neil would hit the Clash of the Titus, pinning Stardust for the win. After the match, Titus would celebrate his win with the fans at ringside before Stardust would attack Titus from behind, tossing Titus into the barricade. After making his surprise return to WWE last week and announcing that he will be part of the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, “Y2J” would be on RAW as Chris Jericho would bring back his talk show segment, The Highlight Reel, and his guests would be WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day. Before bringing out his guests, Chris Jericho says the world is talking about his return last week, showing some of his favorite social media interactions from the past week, saying that, once again, he is back to “save WWE”. Jericho continues, saying that he’s going to win the Royal Rumble Match in two weeks and walk out as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. “Y2J” is then interrupted by his guests on The Highlight Reel as WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day would make their way to the ring. Xavier Woods says that they are out there to save Chris Jericho from himself. With The New Day now in the ring, Jericho would again stir up a “rooty tooty booty” chant from the crowd, enraging the WWE Tag Team Champions. Big E says that they are sick of Jericho’s “shameful” return to WWE. The New Day is then interrupted by The Usos as the 2015 Tag Team of the Year dares The New Day to prove that they are the better team. Kofi Kingston then brings up that there are only two Usos and this gives Chris Jericho an idea, suggesting that he will be in the corner of The Usos when they face The New Day! The match would then be made official as The Usos, with Chris Jericho in their corner, would face WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Xavier Woods would decide to parade around the ring playing his trumpet, but Xavier would find himself face-to-face with Chris Jericho and “Y2J” would temporarily scare Woods away from ringside. Later on in the match, Xavier Woods would get on the ring apron to distract the referee and, when Xavier gets off the apron, he finds Jericho with his hands on Woods’ trumpet as the former World Champion blares the instrument in Xavier’s face before breaking the trumpet in half right in front of Xavier! As Xavier is reduced to tears over his broken trumpet, Jey Uso rolls Kofi Kingston up in the ring, securing the three-count to pick up the win over the WWE Tag Team Champions. Having apparently enraged Mr. McMahon to the point of leaving the office, Paul Heyman is left to discuss his client’s terms with Stephanie McMahon as neither side budges with Heyman still wanting Brock Lesnar to have a guaranteed championship match at WrestleMania and Stephanie still refusing. Stephanie tells Heyman that the Royal Rumble Match is the “biggest opportunity” at the championship that Lesnar could possibly have. Heyman then tells Stephanie to tell both her father and her husband that Brock Lesnar says “no”. However, Stephanie would not back down, getting right back in Heyman’s face and, after reminding the advocate that her father owns Brock’s contract, Stephanie tells Heyman to tell his client that Vince McMahon says that Brock Lesnar will compete in the Royal Rumble Match. Stephanie then tells Heyman to never get that close to her again before Heyman says that he is going to “take care of this”. John “Bradshaw” Layfield is then in the ring to make the official announcement of the first inductee into the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame as, on April 2 in Dallas, the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be headlined by the six-time former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and one of the most recognizable, enigmatic painted faces in professional wrestling history as the man they call Sting will take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame! The Wyatt Family was in action on RAW as Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, & Braun Strowman would face Heath Slater, Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, & Curtis Axel, the group collectively known as The Social Outcasts, in an 8-Man Tag match. However, the match would be interrupted by the arrival of Ryback as “The Big Guy” would be out for revenge after he and Big Show were attacked by The Wyatt Family last week. The Wyatt Family would quickly overwhelm Ryback, but with The Social Outcasts wanting a piece of the action, an all-out brawl would break out. Ryback would then begin to thin the herd, symbolically sending Luke Harper over the top rope to the outside, as well as Erick Rowan. The Wyatt Family then regroups on the outside as Ryback stands tall with The Social Outcasts in the ring! After picking up an upset victory over United States Champion Alberto Del Rio on SmackDown, Kalisto would get the opportunity to do it again with much more on the line as the masked high flyer would challenge Alberto Del Rio for the United States Championship on RAW. Throughout the match, Kalisto would repeatedly prove that he is not to be taken lightly as the high flyer would continue to fight throughout the match, even avoiding Alberto Del Rio’s signature double stomp off of the top rope. After Del Rio avoided the Salida del Sol, a well-placed kick to the mid-section would seemingly halt the momentum of Kalisto, but when Del Rio goes to pick Kalisto up, the high flyer counters into a roll-up, keeping Del Rio’s shoulders down for the three-count to shock the world and become the new United States Champion! As an enraged Del Rio throws a fit at ringside, Kalisto celebrates one of the biggest upsets in recent memory, winning the United States Championship in his first shot at the gold. After using her two-time Hall of Fame father Ric Flair to retain the Divas Championship against Becky Lynch on SmackDown, Divas Champion Charlotte was set to go one-on-one with Brie Bella on RAW. However, before the match could begin, Becky Lynch storms the ring, assaulting her former friend before referees break up the fight. Becky then heads to the back as an angry Ric Flair enters the ring, claiming that, thanks to Becky Lynch, Charlotte won’t be able to compete tonight. With that, Ric Flair and the Divas Champion leave the ring, walking away from her scheduled opponent, Brie Bella. Then it was time for the first ever One Versus All Match as, per the orders of WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon and his daughter Stephanie, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns would have to compete against a to-be-determined number of Superstars. As Roman awaits the unenviable task, The McMahons come out to taunt the champion before bringing out his opponents as Reigns would have to go up against Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens, all three members of The New Day, Stardust, Tyler Breeze, The Ascension, and the entire Wyatt Family! The Chairman would then instruct Kevin Owens to enter the ring as the other fourteen competitors surround the ring before The McMahons explain that Roman Reigns will have to face each and every one of the Superstars until he can “no longer move” before McMahon calls for the bell to be rung. Throughout the match, Kevin Owens would definitely do everything in his power to try and take Roman Reigns out, but the resilient champion would battle back, even knocking both members of The Ascension off of the ring apron with a single Superman Punch! In a match with unclear rules, Stardust would then take a run at Roman Reigns, but Reigns would drop Stardust with a Samoan Drop before Tyler Breeze tries his luck and gets a powerbomb for his trouble. Roman then sends Stardust over the top rope to the outside before taking Breeze out with the Spear. The champion then glares at The McMahons, who instruct Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, & The New Day to enter the ring as, with Kevin Owens joining back in, the six-on-one beatdown would commence. Unable to withstand the onslaught of all six men, the champion would be dissected in the ring as The New Day holds Roman up as Del Rio delivers a vicious kick to the face of the champion. Del Rio & The New Day then pick Reigns up again as Sheamus gets his turn, connecting with the Brogue Kick. However, the dismantling of Roman Reigns is interrupted by the arrival of “The Beast” as Brock Lesnar marches down to the ring with Paul Heyman in tow! Brock would enter the ring, ready for a fight and The New Day would make the mistake of thinking that “The Beast” was out there to help them pick Roman Reigns apart, but Brock Lesnar would quickly make his intentions clear. Brock would then drop both Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston before getting a hold of Big E, taking the big man to “Suplex City”, tossing Big E with a German suplex. Lesnar then gets his hands on Kevin Owens, dropping Owens with a German suplex as well. Del Rio is then taken down a clothesline before Sheamus blindsides Brock Lesnar, but “The Beast” would withstand “The Celtic Warrior” before suplexing Del Rio and suplexing Sheamus! With Superstars littered around ringside, Brock Lesnar would glance at The McMahons before setting his sights on Roman Reigns, dragging the WWE World Heavyweight Champion to the middle of the ring before picking Roman up and delivering the F-5 to Reigns in the middle of the ring! Lesnar then exits the ring, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind that he is on no one’s side but his own and, at the Royal Rumble, he intends on winning the Rumble Match and walking out as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Roman Reigns then lays in the ring, hurt, but not hurt enough to avoid smiling at the prospect of getting another shot at Brock Lesnar. What did you think of this week’s RAW?
