WWE RAW Results: December 21, 2015By Cassidy| December 22, 2015 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results One week after Roman Reigns attacked both her husband, Triple H, and her father, Mr. McMahon, before Roman defeated Sheamus to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, the special Slammy Awards edition of RAW kicks off with WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie says that the fans are probably wondering how she can be in such a good mood after seeing her family assaulted last week. Stephanie then says that McMahons “rise to the occasion” and “nothing” is going to get her down tonight before the Principal Owner is interrupted by the brand new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, who makes his way to the ring to a mixed reaction from the crowd. The new champion says that they are celebrating the Slammy Awards and they are celebrating a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion before Roman says that this whole thing smells like a “setup”. Reigns then says that he doesn’t “sweat” Stephanie, her father, and he especially doesn’t sweat her husband Triple H. The fearless champion then tells Stephanie to tell her husband that he is there and he is not hard to find and the Principal Owner responds by repeatedly screaming at Reigns to “get out” of her ring. Roman just continues to laugh at Stephanie, saying that Stephanie sounds like a “little kid” before Stephanie again tells Roman to get out of the ring before she makes him get out of the ring. The champion says that the fans do not want him to leave before Stephanie continues to scream at Roman to get out of her ring. Continuing to antagonize his boss, Roman asks the fans if they want to see him make her really mad and, with that, the champion turns his back to Stephanie. This works out just as Roman expects as the appalled Principal Owner tells the champion not to turn his back to her. However, Roman pretends like Stephanie is not even there as Reigns slowly exits the ring with a smile on his face as Stephanie actually insists that Roman get back into the ring! Reigns then hops back over the barricade and exits through the crowd as Stephanie continues to scream at the rebellious champion before calling Reigns a “coward”. Stephanie then tells Reigns that she is going to put him in her shoes as Stephanie announces that, tonight, Roman’s cousins The Usos will face all three members of The New Day in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. When that doesn’t get the attention of the champion, Stephanie announces that, tonight, Roman’s ‘brother’ Dean Ambrose will compete in a Steel Cage Match against Sheamus! Reigns then turns to look at Stephanie, continuing to smile as he holds the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt high before leaving. Stephanie then proclaims that, thanks to Roman Reigns, there will be “hell to pay” tonight! The first Slammy Award of the night would then be handed out as “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler would come out to present the Slammy Award for the Breakout Star of the Year. Dolph says that there is no “blueprint” to becoming a breakout star, you just have to make an “impact” before Ziggler presents the nominees as former Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens, “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville, reigning Divas Champion Charlotte, “Prince Pretty” Tyler Breeze, and The Wyatt Family’s Braun Strowman were all up for the award. Dolph then announces that the 2015 Breakout Star of the Year is the high-flyer Neville! “The Man That Gravity Forgot” then comes out to accept his award, saying that winning the Slammy comes as a “great shock” to him before thanking the fans. Neville’s speech is then interrupted by his fellow nominee Kevin Owens, who says that he should have won the Slammy, telling Neville to “take a walk”. Neville then leaves with his Slammy Award as Kevin Owens says that he is the breakout star, reminding everyone that he’s the guy that beat John Cena on his first night on the main roster. Owens then spots a smirking Dolph Ziggler standing nearby and asks Dolph what he’s laughing about before saying that the only way that Dolph could win a Slammy is if they have a “has been of the year” award. This insult sparks a brawl between Ziggler and Owens as both Superstars tee off on each other before referees rush out to break things up, separating the two competitors. The Wyatt Family then appears in the ring as, with Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, & Braun Strowman in his corner, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt would go one-on-one with the returning “Big Red Monster” Kane in the opening match of the night! It would not take long for The Wyatt Family to get involved as Kane would knock Erick Rowan off of the ring apron and the rest of The Wyatt Family would attack Kane. The Wyatt Family would then beat Kane down in the ring before The Dudley Boyz and Tommy Dreamer make the save, sending The Wyatt Family packing! This would set up an 8-Man Tag match as “The Big Red Monster” Kane would team with The Dudley Boyz and Tommy Dreamer to face all four members of The Wyatt Family. In a wild match, The Dudley Boyz would take Erick Rowan out with the 3-D before Kane takes Braun Strowman to the outside and, finally, it was Luke Harper scoring with the Discus Clothesline, pinning D-Von to pick up the win for The Wyatt Family. A former Intercontinental Champion would then return to WWE as Santino Marella would make a special appearance to present the nominees for the LOL Moment of the Year with nominees being Edge & Christian’s kazoo battle with The New Day, The Bushwhackers speech at the WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, The Miz & Damien Mizdow’s commercial for “Niagara”, Triple H & Stephanie McMahon dancing with The New Day, and R-Truth mistakenly thinking he was in the Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. Santino then reveals that the winner of the LOL Moment of the Year is R-Truth before Santino tries to accept the award on R-Truth’s behalf. Truth then comes out for his Slammy, but Santino runs off with the award and R-Truth gives chase. Making an appearance for the first time since WWE Hell in a Cell in October, the advocate for “The Beast” Brock Lesnar would appear on RAW as Paul Heyman would present the Slammy Award for the OMG! Shocking Moment of the Year. Heyman says that, with the exception of the Diva of the Year and LOL Moment of the Year awards, he believes that every single Slammy Award should go to his client, “The Beast” Brock Lesnar. Heyman then presents the nominees as Seth Rollins’ Money-in-the-Bank cash-in at WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar’s attack on Michael Cole and a cameraman on RAW, Kalisto’s Salida del Sol through off of a ladder through another ladder at WWE TLC, The Wyatt Family’s assault and abduction of The Undertaker at WWE Hell in a Cell, and Sheamus’ Money-in-the-Bank cash-in at Survivor Series were all up for the award. Heyman then announces the winner as Kalisto takes home the Slammy Award for his death-defying Salida del Sol. The masked high-flyer says that moments like these motivate him to keep flying higher before thanking the fans. As a result of a brawl earlier in the night, RAW would see “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler square off with “The Prize Fighter” Kevin Owens. During the match, Dolph Ziggler would score with the super kick, but Kevin Owens would fall out of the ring. Shortly after this, Dolph scores with the Famouser, but Owens would kick out before ultimately hitting the Pop-Up Powerbomb, pinning Ziggler to pick up the win. After being left in a livid mood by WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns earlier in the night, WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon would come out to present the Slammy Award for the Superstar of the Year with every Superstar on the roster eligible to win. Stephanie then presents some of the favorites to win the award, such as Roman Reigns, Sheamus, John Cena, Kevin Owens, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, The New Day, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Kane, Seth Rollins, & Sting, all of which are eligible to win Superstar of the Year, as well as any other Superstar on the roster. Stephanie then announces that the winner of the prestigious Superstar of the Year is none other than former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins! The injured former champion then makes a special appearance, coming out on crutches to accept his award. Rollins says that there’s a small part of him that wants to say “thank you” before saying that he was the only real option for Superstar of the Year, reminding everyone of his accomplishments in 2015 like cashing in Money-in-the-Bank to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania and becoming the first Superstar to hold both the WWE World Heavyweight Title and the United States Title at the same time. Rollins’ tone then changes as Rollins says that “one wrong landing” and his career changed in an instant before saying that, in 2016, he will “redesign” and “rebuild” himself, vowing to reclaim the title that he never lost, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In a rematch from WWE TLC, United States Champion Alberto Del Rio, with the rest of The League of Nations, Sheamus, King Barrett, & Rusev, in his corner, would go one-on-one with Jack Swagger in a non-title match. In the end, it was Alberto Del Rio hitting the double stomp off of the top rope on Jack Swagger, pinning Swagger to pick up the win. After the match, The League of Nations would strike as, with Rusev & King Barrett holding Swagger up, Sheamus would blast “The Real American” with the Brogue Kick. “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry would then make an appearance to present the Slammy Award for the Hero in All of Us Award, presented by Coca-Cola. Henry would then present the charitable nominees as Natalya, Roman Reigns, Big Show, Titus O’Neil, & John Cena were all up for the award. “The World’s Strongest Man” then announces that the winner of the Hero in All of Us Award is John Cena, saying that Cena is not there tonight. Mark Henry then says that he talked to a few of the Superstars in the back, saying that they don’t expect an award for their work because they do it for WWE and for all the fans, accepting the award on Cena’s behalf. Bo Dallas then comes out dressed as Santa Claus to present the Slammy Award for the Surprise Return of the Year with The Dudley Boyz, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, Demon Kane, & Sting all up for the Slammy Award. Bo Claus then announces the winner of the Slammy Award for Surprise Return of the Year is “The Icon” Sting before Bo says that Sting is not in the arena, accepting the Slammy on Sting’s behalf. Per the orders of WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, the 2015 Slammy Award winners for Tag Team of the Year The Usos would face WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. Despite the odds placed in front of them, the 2015 Tag Team of the Year would pick up a big win as one of The Usos would counter a roll-up attempt by Xavier Woods, scoring the three-count to pick up the win for The Usos. After winning the Slammy Award for LOL Moment of the Year earlier in the night, R-Truth would make an appearance to present the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year. R-Truth says that 2015 has been the “year of the Divas”, saying the Divas got “style”, “grace”, and “athleticism” before Truth presents the nominees for Diva of the Year as Nikki Bella, Naomi, Paige, Sasha Banks, & Charlotte are all up for the award. R-Truth then announces that the winner for 2015 Diva of the Year is Paige before Paige comes out to accept the Slammy Award. However, R-Truth tells Paige that he “made a mistake” before revealing that Nikki Bella is the real winner of the Slammy Award! This leads to a confrontation between Nikki and Paige as the two Divas hug it out and Nikki insists that Paige stay out there with her. Nikki says that she wants to dedicate the Slammy Award to all the women in WWE and all the women in the crowd. The Slammy Award winner for the Breakout Star of the Year was in action on RAW as “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville went one-on-one with “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, with Sheamus, King Barrett, & Alberto Del Rio in his corner, with The Miz a guest on commentary. In the end, it was Rusev locking in the Accolade on Neville, making the high flyer tap out to pick up the win. As The Miz makes his way to the stage to present the next Slammy Award, The League of Nations prey on Neville as King Barrett & Alberto Del Rio hold Neville up for the Brogue Kick from Sheamus. The Miz then makes an appearance to present the Slammy Award for the “This Is Awesome” Moment of the Year with Brock Lesnar’s destruction of J&J Security’s new car, Randy Orton’s stunning RKO to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, the dawn of the Divas Revolution, the momentary reunion of The Shield at Payback, and The Rock & Ronda Rousey embarrassing Triple H & Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania. The Miz then reveals that The Rock & Ronda Rousey win the Slammy Award and The Miz accepts the Slammy on behalf of The Rock & Ronda Rousey, mocking “The People’s Champion” and plugging his movie, Santa’s Little Helper. With Divas Champion Charlotte in her corner, Becky Lynch would go one-on-one with Brie Bella on RAW. In the end, with no help from Charlotte, Becky Lynch would lock in the Dis-Arm-Her, making Brie Bella tap out to pick up the win. Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair would then make an appearance to present the nominees for Match of the Year as the Triple Threat Match between John Cena, Seth Rollins, & Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble, Sting vs. Triple H at WrestleMania, John Cena vs. Kevin Owens at WWE Elimination Chamber, the Fatal 4-Way #1 Contender’s Match between Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, & Alberto Del Rio on RAW, and Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Hell in a Cell. “The Nature Boy” then announces that the winner of the Match of the Year is the Hell in a Cell match between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker at WWE Hell in a Cell. Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman comes out to accept the award on his client’s behalf, saying that Brock Lesnar has no interest in accepting awards, Brock is interested in a “fight”. Heyman then says that the fans want to see Brock fight, but no one in the locker room wants a fight with Brock Lesnar. Heyman then congratulates The Undertaker on being “man enough” to take a beating from Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell. As the Steel Cage lowers for the main event, a beating is taking place backstage as The League of Nations is assaulting The Usos with Alberto Del Rio tossing one Uso into the side of a trailer as Sheamus and King Barrett put the boots to the other Uso. Rusev then locks one Uso in the Accolade while Del Rio locks in the Cross Armbreaker on the other Uso. The League of Nations then holds each Uso up as Sheamus blasts each Uso with the Brogue Kick, leaving The Usos laid out before Sheamus says that there is “two down” and “one to go”. Then it was time for the main event as, per the orders of WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose would be forced to go one-on-one with Sheamus, with his League of Nations cohorts Rusev, King Barrett, & Alberto Del Rio in his corner, inside an unforgiving Steel Cage! However, before the match could even begin, Dean Ambrose would try to enter the cage, but with Ambrose keeping a wary eye on The League of Nations, Sheamus would drop Ambrose with the Brogue Kick, knocking the Intercontinental Champion to the floor. Rusev, King Barrett, & Alberto Del Rio then put the boots to Ambrose before sending Ambrose into the ring as the match gets underway. Later on in the match, Sheamus would meet Ambrose on the top rope, delivering White Noise off of the top rope to the Intercontinental Champion, but Ambrose would kick out. Shortly after this, Ambrose would try to climb out of the cage, but Rusev and Alberto Del Rio would climb up to stop “The Lunatic Fringe” and, with nowhere else to go, Ambrose would leap off of the top of the cage with an elbow drop to Sheamus, but Sheamus would kick out! After failing to pin Sheamus, Ambrose would try to crawl to the cage door, but as soon as Ambrose gets there, Del Rio slams the cage door on Ambrose’s head! Having seen enough of his ‘brother’ getting cheated by The League of Nations, Roman Reigns would emerge from the crowd as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion would blast Del Rio with the Spear before sending Rusev face-first into the steel cage, followed up with the Superman Punch! Roman then grabs a steel chair, delivering a shot to Rusev before using the chair to scare King Barrett off. Reigns then spots Sheamus trying to climb out of the cage, so Roman climbs the cage with the steel chair, tossing the chair over the top of the cage into the ring. Sheamus then tries to get to the chair first, but Ambrose already has his hands on the weapon as the Intercontinental Champion wears Sheamus out with the chair before spiking Sheamus with Dirty Deeds on the steel chair! With Reigns cheering him on, Ambrose would climb to the top of the cage, but he is caught by Sheamus as both Superstars would find themselves seated on top of the cage, trading blows at an uncomfortable height. Ambrose and Sheamus then both try to climb down the outside of the cage with both of them trying to stop the other one from winning before Sheamus makes an error in judgment by using a headbutt to knock Ambrose off of the side of the cage as the Intercontinental Champion falls to the outside, giving Ambrose the win! After the match, Sheamus drops to the floor and is quickly dispatched by Roman Reigns, who levels “The Celtic Warrior” with the Spear! Reigns and Ambrose then celebrate Ambrose’s victory as, backstage, Stephanie McMahon is asked for a reaction to Roman Reigns’ actions and the Principal Owner responds by assaulting interviewer Tom Philips with several slaps, leaving Philips in a heap on the floor!
