WWE SmackDown Results: October 8, 2015By Cassidy| October 9, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results After their decimation of Dolph Ziggler, The Dudley Boyz, and United States Champion John Cena on RAW, the WWE Tag Team Champions would kick off SmackDown as The New Day would make their way to the ring. Kofi Kingston says that not even the combined powers of Dolph Ziggler, The Dudley Boyz, and John Cena could not overcome their “power of positivity” before Big E adds that The New Day “stood tall and dropped them all”, saying that such a beatdown has never been done in the “history of mankind”. The New Day then lists off some groups who were unable to achieve such a feat, naming The Shield, The Wyatt Family, The Nexus, The Corre, The Dungeon of Doom, and the nWo, saying that no one has “dominated” like they did on RAW. Xavier Woods then says that Philadelphia knows “nothing about being champions” before calling the Philadelphia Eagles “booty”. Kofi then says that The Dudley Boyz have “conned” their way into getting another shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles at WWE Hell in a Cell before Big E says that they will beat The Dudley Boyz. The New Day then starts their chant of “New Day rocks” before they are interrupted by Dolph Ziggler, who says that this isn’t a “joking matter”, saying that The New Day cost him his shot at the United States Championship. Dolph then reveals that he went to The Authority and they gave him an “opportunity”, saying that he asked for a match against the man who stole his opportunity and against a man who he probably taught to steal opportunities, revealing that he asked for a match against his former backup Big E! Xavier Woods sarcastically says that it will be a “fair fight” and Dolph responds by saying that they are “damn right” it will be a fair fight and that is when The New Day’s WWE Hell in a Cell opponents The Dudley Boyz come out to be in Dolph’s corner! The opening match of the night would be a match requested by Dolph Ziggler as “The Show Off”, with The Dudley Boyz in his corner, would face WWE Tag Team Champion Big E, with Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston in his corner. Unsurprisingly, things would not stay civil on the outside during the match as Kofi Kingston would get on the ring apron, but would get pulled to the floor by Bubba Ray. Bubba Ray then tries to catch Kofi with a boot to the face, but Kofi moves out of the way and Bubba Ray connects with the steel steps, appearing to injure his knee. Kofi then gets on the ring apron again and, with Xavier Woods distracting the referee, Kofi would get involved, wrenching Dolph’s neck over the top rope. D-Von would then pull Xavier off of the ring apron, but the damage was already done as Big E would pin Dolph and, with Kofi holding down Dolph’s foot for the illegal advantage, Big E would score the three-count, picking up the win. With just over two weeks before she gets her rematch for the Divas Championship against Charlotte at WWE Hell in a Cell, Nikki Bella would be on SmackDown as Team Bella would challenge Divas Champion Charlotte & Becky Lynch to a 6-Diva Tag match with Charlotte & Becky having to find a Diva to team with and that Diva would turn out to be Natalya! During the match, Charlotte would lock in the Figure-Four Leg Lock on Nikki Bella, but before the Divas Champion can turn it into the Figure-Eight, Nikki reverses the hold. However, Becky Lynch would deliver a dropkick to Nikki, allowing Charlotte to counter back into the Figure-Four before bridging into the Figure-Eight, making Nikki tap out to pick up the win for her team. Before he challenges Kevin Owens for the Intercontinental Championship a little over two weeks away at WWE Hell in a Cell, “The Big Guy” Ryback would go one-on-one with “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, with Summer Rae in his corner, with Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens a guest on commentary. In the end, it was Ryback hitting Shell Shocked, pinning Rusev to pick up the win. For the first time since returning a couple of weeks ago and laying both Neville and Stardust out with the Royal Bull Hammer, King Barrett would go one-on-one with “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville on SmackDown. In the end, it was King Barrett catching Neville with the Royal Bull Hammer, pinning the high-flyer for the win. Then it was time for the main event as, before they go one-on-one inside Hell in a Cell in a couple of weeks, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt would be in action on SmackDown as Roman Reigns would team with Randy Orton to face Bray Wyatt and his monstrous follower Braun Strowman. During the match, all hell would break loose once Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt set their sights on each other as Roman tosses Bray over the ringside barricade before delivering a dropkick to Braun Strowman. However, when Roman turns his attention back to Bray, Wyatt is waiting with a steel chair, driving it into the mid-section of Roman Reigns, ending the match by disqualification. Bray then delivers a chair shot to the back of Reigns before bringing Roman back into the ring, but Randy Orton would intervene, attacking Wyatt. This bring Braun Strowman into the ring as Braun manhandles “The Viper” before Roman catches Strowman with the Superman Punch, managing to get under Strowman and hoist the monster over-the-top rope to the outside. Bray then tries to surprise Reigns with Sister Abigail, but Roman fights out and Randy Orton strikes with the RKO to Wyatt and Reigns follows this up with the Spear! Strowman then pulls his leader out of the ring, helping Wyatt to the back as Roman Reigns & Randy Orton stand tall in the ring. What did you think of this week’s SmackDown?
