WWE SmackDown Results: October 15, 2015By Cassidy| October 16, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results A little over a week before he steps into Hell in a Cell to end his rivalry with Bray Wyatt at WWE Hell in a Cell, SmackDown would kick off with Roman Reigns as “The Big Dog” would go one-on-one with Bo Dallas. In the end, it was Roman Reigns connecting with the Spear, pinning Bo Dallas for the win. After the match, Roman Reigns would address his WWE Hell in a Cell opponent Bray Wyatt, saying that he sees “evil” when he looks in Bray’s eyes and the only way to “stop the devil” is to “ride straight into hell”. Bray Wyatt then appears on the Tron, humming “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” before saying that Roman’s “pride” will be his “ending”, saying that Roman is not his “master”. Bray then says that it does not suit him to wage war with Reigns tonight, but on RAW, he will issue a “prophecy” to Roman Reigns. In a rematch from RAW, “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville would team with “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro to face King Barrett and “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Sheamus with Stardust & The Ascension seated in the crowd with Stardust holding up a “Stardust Section” sign. In the end, Cesaro would go for the Cesaro Swing on Sheamus, but with the referee’s back turned, King Barrett would blast Cesaro with the Royal Bull Hammer as Sheamus would pin Cesaro to pick up the win for himself and King Barrett. Before he defends the Intercontinental Championship against Ryback a week from Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell, the Intercontinental Champion was in action on SmackDown as Kevin Owens would face Zack Ryder in a non-title match with Ryback at ringside. At the end of a dominant performance, it was Kevin Owens hitting the Pop-Up Powerbomb, pinning Zack Ryder for the win. After the match, Ryback would enter the ring, looking for a piece of his WWE Hell in a Cell opponent, but Kevin Owens is quick to leave the ring, leaving a seething #1 Contender in the ring. Backstage, a visibly upset Paige confronts Natalya, apologizing profusely for her words and actions as of late, begging for Natalya’s forgiveness and expressing her desire for the two of them to be friends again. Natalya tells Paige that she has a “long way to go”, but it’s a “start” before Natalya excuses herself and heads into her locker room. After finding out on RAW through TMZ that her boyfriend, Rusev, has actually been engaged to Lana for a month, Summer Rae would be right in the middle of things as Summer would serve as the Special Referee when “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev went one-on-one with “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler! During the match, it became clear what Summer Rae had in store for her ex-boyfriend as Summer would intentionally slow-count Rusev’s pin attempts and, when Rusev confronts Summer over the slow count, Summer slaps Rusev across the face! The slap would give Dolph Ziggler the opportunity he needed as Dolph would score with the Zig Zag, pinning Rusev as Summer makes the three-count. After the match, Summer Rae confronts Dolph Ziggler, saying, now that Rusev is out of her life and Lana is out of Dolph’s eyes, he can’t deny their chemistry. However, Dolph tells Summer that he knows what she’s trying to do, saying Summer is trying to “use” him and, when it comes to those kind of games, he’s “not playing” before Ziggler exits the ring. With a match against Randy Orton & Dean Ambrose on the WWE Hell in a Cell Kickoff show a week from Sunday, The Wyatt Family’s Luke Harper & Braun Strowman would face The Prime Time Players on SmackDown. In the end, it was Braun Strowman trapping Darren Young in his modified triangle choke, earning a victory for Luke Harper & Braun Strowman. With a title defense against Nikki Bella coming up at WWE Hell in a Cell, the Divas Champion was in action on SmackDown as Charlotte, with Becky Lynch in her corner, would face Team Bella’s Alicia Fox, with Nikki Bella & Brie Bella in her corner, in a non-title match. In the end, it was Charlotte locking in the Figure-Eight, making Alicia Fox tap out to pick up the win. After the match, Team Bella would ambush Charlotte & Becky Lynch, but Paige would make the unexpected save as the on-again, off-again teammates would clear the ring of Team Bella before Charlotte & Becky glare at Paige, unsure of what to make of Paige’s assistance. Backstage, Paige would confront Charlotte & Becky Lynch, apologetic over her recent words and actions. Charlotte tells Paige that they will take things a “day at a time”, but when a referee and a trainer rush by the three Divas, Paige is quick to make an exit. Charlotte & Becky follow the referee and trainer to Natalya’s locker room where Natalya’s locker room is in shambles with Natalya laid out on the floor, being attended to by two WWE trainers as Natalya clutches her mid-section! Then it was time for the main event as Cincinnati’s own Dean Ambrose would join forces with The Dudley Boyz to face WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day in a 6-Man Tag Match. During the match, The Dudley Boyz would hit the 3-D on Kofi Kingston, but when Bubba Ray goes for the pin on Kofi, Xavier Woods would attack Bubba Ray with his trombone, ending the match by disqualification. After the match, with Dean Ambrose still down on the outside after being pushed off of the top rope, The New Day would administer a sickening beatdown on The Dudley Boyz as Xavier Woods delivers a shot to the mid-section and the back of Bubba Ray before driving the instrument into D-Von’s mid-section and back as well. Big E then holds Bubba Ray as Xavier hits a running knee to the face of Bubba Ray, followed by Trouble in Paradise from Kofi Kingston. Big E then lifts D-Von up as Kofi comes off of the top rope for the Midnight Hour, taking D-Von out as the WWE Tag Team Champions stand tall over The Dudley Boyz once again, having effectively laid waste to the #1 Contenders.
