WWE RAW Results: September 7, 2015By Cassidy| September 8, 2015 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results Just under two weeks before he will be defending not one, but both of his championships against Sting and John Cena in two separate title matches at Night of Champions, RAW kicks off with the WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins. The champion says that he is “once-in-a-lifetime special”, saying that, before him, it was just a “pipe dream” that someone would cash in their Money-in-the-Bank contract in the main event of WrestleMania. Rollins continues, saying that, before him, everyone was “clamoring” for someone to come along and knock John Cena off of the “WWE mountain” and that is exactly what he did at SummerSlam when he beat Cena to become the first Superstar to ever hold the WWE World Heavyweight Title and the United States Title at the same time. The champion then says that a statue was created in his honor; a statue that created so much “jealousy” before the champion was set to go on an angry rant about Sting, but Rollins calms himself before saying that, two weeks ago, Sting “stole” his statue. Rollins then says that Sting had the audacity to put his “filthy, little hands” on the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt, saying that Sting has the chance to “cement” his legacy at Night of Champions, but he has the chance to “crush” Sting’s legacy as well and that is exactly what he plans to do. The champion continues, saying that, last week, it became apparent that every title in the WWE will be defended at Night of Champions so he has to defend the United States Title at Night of Champions as well, saying that John Cena “politicked” his way into a title match and now he has to defend the United States Title against Cena a week from Sunday. Rollins then says that he searched and searched for a “solution” but then it hit him that he is “Seth freaking Rollins”, saying that it has been his year and Night of Champions will be his night because two future Hall of Famers will challenge him for his two championships. Rollins then vows that he is going to “own” Sting and John Cena at Night of Champions just like he owns all of the fans and just like he owns the ring, saying that, if it’s the last thing he does, he’s going to get his statue back. The champion continues, saying that the fans “deserve” to see his statue each and every week as a constant reminder that he is “the man”. Rollins’ address is then interrupted by his Night of Champions opponent, “The Icon” Sting, who appears on the Tron next to Seth Rollins’ statue. Sting says that Rollins’ statue belongs right there with him, saying that Rollins is “the man without a statue”, telling the champion that he’s there and the statue is there, so Seth Rollins should “come and get it”! Sting then dusts the statue off with a feather duster, but before an enraged Rollins can exit the ring, he is interrupted by “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Sheamus, who makes his way to the ring. Sheamus says that Rollins is “worried” about his two matches at Night of Champions, but Rollins argues that he is not worried about Sting or John Cena and he’s not worried about Sheamus either, saying that he’s got a statue to go collect. Sheamus asks Rollins if he realizes how “stupid” he sounds right now and the champion fires back, asking Sheamus if he knows how “stupid” he looks! Rollins then says that Sheamus looks like “Ronald McDonald with a bad haircut” and Sheamus responds by telling the champion to not make fun of his “family”. Rollins then tells Sheamus to get to the point and Sheamus says that his point is the Money-in-the-Bank contract, saying that he could make his “point” tonight, he could make his “point” on SmackDown, or he could make his “point” at Night of Champions, telling Rollins that he is already in for two title matches at Night of Champions and, if he sees fit, Rollins will have a third! Backstage, a panicked Seth Rollins confronts WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon, saying that he can’t let Sting, John Cena, or Sheamus think that the pressure is getting to him, asking if Triple H is around. Stephanie says that she has a plan, but the champion continues to ask for Triple H, saying that “planning” is Triple H’s “thing”. Rollins then turns around to find Triple H standing behind him as the COO asks Rollins if he doesn’t think that Stephanie can handle the situation and the champion backpedals, saying that he wanted them to come with a plan as a “family”. Triple H then says that the situation is irrelevant because Seth Rollins is “the man” and Rollins takes this to mean that he needs to focus on getting his statue back from Sting. Triple H then tells Rollins that he can put Sheamus out of his mind because “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” has a match with Randy Orton tonight before telling the champion to not worry so much about his statue, saying that Rollins needs to worry about his two title matches at Night of Champions. The COO continues, saying that as a way to prepare for Night of Champions, Seth Rollins will be competing twice tonight! Triple H then explains that the first match will be a Champion vs. Champion match as Seth Rollins will go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Ryback while Rollins’ second match of the night will be more of a “Champions vs. Challengers” match as Rollins will team with WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day to face the team of The Prime Time Players and John Cena! Stephanie then adds that her plan was for Seth Rollins to go after Sting, but Triple H’s plan is much better. Triple H says that he likes his plan because it gives Seth Rollins the opportunity to show the world that he is “the man”. The Divas were in action in the opening match of the night as PCB member Paige, with Becky Lynch and #1 Contender Charlotte in her corner, would go one-on-one with Team B.A.D. member Sasha Banks, with Naomi & Tamina in her corner, in a rematch from last week. During the match, Paige would look for the Ram Paige on Sasha Banks, but Sasha quickly escapes the ring and, when Paige goes to dive onto all three members of Team B.A.D., Naomi pulls herself and Sasha out of the way, leaving Tamina to take the impact of the move before the match returns to the ring. Shortly after this, Paige would go for the PTO on Sasha, but Naomi and Tamina would enter the ring to distract the referee, allowing Sasha to pull Paige’s hair and counter the PTO into a roll-up, scoring the three-count to pick up the win. Less than two weeks before they and a partner of their choosing square off against all three members of The Wyatt Family in a 6-Man Tag Match at Night of Champions, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose & “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns would face The Ascension on RAW. At the end of a dominant performance from Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns, it was Ambrose spiking Viktor with Dirty Deeds, pinning Viktor to pick up the win for his team. After the match, The Wyatt Family would appear on the Tron as Braun Strowman tells Ambrose & Reigns that it’s “okay to be afraid”, saying that he is their “destruction”. Bray Wyatt then has a warning for Ambrose, Reigns, and whoever they pick for their tag team partner at Night of Champions, saying that “the apocalypse waits for you at Night of Champions” before Luke Harper concludes with “run”. Backstage, an interview with Intercontinental Champion Ryback is interrupted by Kevin Owens, who says that he wants to wish Ryback “good luck” on his match, but Ryback says that Owens is “full of crap”. Owens then delivers a veiled threat to the Intercontinental Champion, telling Ryback to “not bite off more than you can chew”. Then it was time for Seth Rollins’ first of two matches of the night as the WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion would go one-on-one with Intercontinental Champion Ryback in a non-title, Champion vs. Champion match. During the match, Seth Rollins would narrowly avoid getting hit with Shell Shocked, battling back with a kick to the head of Ryback, but that is when Sting would appear on the Tron, still next to Rollins’ statue, saying that they are still “waiting” for Rollins. This would distract Rollins long enough for Ryback to surprise Rollins with a roll-up, scoring the three-count to pick up the win! After the match, an angered Seth Rollins would turn his attention to the Tron once more as Sting appears again, this time putting a Sting mask on Seth Rollins’ statue! Backstage, an already upset Seth Rollins is further angered by the appearance of his tag team partners in the main event, The New Day, who try to encourage Rollins before The New Day’s encouragement stops at the sight of someone standing behind Seth Rollins. The champion then turns around to see none other than WWE Hall of Famer Edge and “Captain Charisma” Christian standing there! Edge tells the champion that the last time they saw each other, Rollins had his “goons” hold Edge down while Rollins stood on Edge’s neck and threatened to paralyze him if John Cena didn’t bring The Authority back to power. Rollins says that he did what he had to do to get The Authority back in power, saying that as the man who earned the moniker “The Ultimate Opportunist”, Edge should understand that. Edge says that he does understand that, but the problem is that Rollins didn’t get the job done before “The Rated-R Superstar” gets in the champion’s face, daring Rollins to finish it now! The champion then stumbles over his words before storming off, saying he’s got a lot to deal with. This leaves an odd interaction between The New Day and Edge & Christian as Xavier Woods plays the trumpet for the legendary tag team before Christian busts out a kazoo and plays a song to the tune of Edge and the fans chanting “New Day sucks”. Big E then snatches the kazoo out of Christian’s hands, trying to eat it before smashing it on the ground. Things then continue to get interesting when a team very familiar with Edge & Christian enter the confrontation as The Dudley Boyz stare down both Edge & Christian and The New Day! Bubba Ray then tells The New Day that they just got done talking to The Authority and, on next week’s RAW, The Prime Time Players will get their rematch against The New Day for the WWE Tag Team Titles! Things get worse for the WWE Tag Team Champions when D-Von reveals that, whichever team walks out as the champions on next week’s RAW will defend the titles against The Dudley Boyz at Night of Champions! Edge & Christian then join The Dudley Boyz in chanting “get the tables” at The New Day. Claiming that she is tired of the attention she has garnered as a result of her involvement with Dolph Ziggler, Summer Rae would make an in-ring appearance on RAW to apologize to Rusev for her actions. Summer says that the past week has been the “most horrific week” of her life and, at the center of it all, has been the “true victim” of the entire situation and he owes this man an apology before Summer asks for Rusev to come out to the ring. “The Bulgarian Brute” then makes his way to the ring, standing before Summer as Summer says that she “owes” Rusev so much. Summer then says that Rusev gave her the strength to get herself into the shape that he wanted her to be in and he gave her the courage to pose for this month’s Iron Man magazine, showing her pictures from the magazine. Summer continues, saying that she feels “so terrible” before saying that she should have known better than to go into Dolph Ziggler’s locker room last week, saying that her “innocence” got the better of her. The clearly enamored Summer then fondly remembers the “steam” coming off of Dolph’s “tight body” before saying that she let Dolph kiss her, shouting that she “betrayed” Rusev and she will “never forgive” herself for it. Summer then says that it was a “moment of weakness” and it “meant nothing” before Rusev touches Summer’s face, saying that she “betrayed” him, but he accepts her apology. Rusev then smiles before the couple embraces each other and Rusev says that it’s not Summer’s fault, it’s Dolph Ziggler’s fault, saying that Summer is the “victim” here. Rusev then says that Lana is also a victim, saying that she was “wrongly seduced” and that her not being in the arena due to a broken wrist is a “lie”, saying that Lana is not there because she has a “broken heart”. Rusev continues, saying that he knows that he and Lana have had their differences, but he would never cheat on Lana and would never make Lana feel the way that Dolph has made her feel. This brings Dolph Ziggler to the ring as Dolph says that the world knows that Rusev and Summer Rae are lying and, most importantly, Lana knows they are lying. Rusev argues that Dolph is interrupting him when he should be with Lana, getting her flowers and taking care of her as she recovers. Ziggler says that Lana is the one who told him to come to RAW with a “message” for Rusev and Dolph then delivers that message with a super kick to the face of Rusev! Dolph then pummels Rusev as “The Bulgarian Brute” quickly retreats from the ring as Rusev & Summer back up the stage as Dolph stands in the ring, ready to fight and tired of the lies. With both Superstars holding a victory over each other in recent months, the rubber match would take place on RAW as “The Viper” Randy Orton would go one-on-one with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Sheamus. At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Randy Orton finally scoring with the RKO after several attempts, keeping Sheamus down for the three-count to pick up the win. Apparently having seen Randy Oton’s earlier conversation with Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns in the backstage area moments earlier, The Wyatt Family would appear on the outside, surrounding Randy Orton. “The Viper” would make a move towards Luke Harper, but Orton would get caught with a kick to the face by Harper before Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper pummel Orton. Wyatt & Harper then roll Orton into the ring where Braun Strowman awaits and, with an evil grin on his face, Strowman picks Orton up, ragdolling Orton in his signature chokehold before slamming Orton face-first into the mat! Bray Wyatt then kneels next to the motionless Orton, screaming “follow the buzzards”. Before they challenge either The New Day or The Prime Time Players for the WWE Tag Team Titles at Night of Champions, The Dudley Boyz were in action on RAW as Bubba Ray & D-Von would face Los Matadores, with El Torito in their corner. During the match, Fernando would have an issue with El Torito on the ring apron, slapping the mini-bull, but it was this confrontation that would cost Los Matadores as The Dudley Boyz would hit the 3-D on Fernando with D-Von pinning Fernando for the win. The Dudley Boyz then exit the ring and start to head to the back as, in the ring, Diego is arguing with El Torito before Diego kicks El Torito out of the ring! Diego then continues to bully El Torito on the outside, but The Dudley Boyz take issue with this and, as Bubba Ray sets up a table in the ring, D-Von brings Diego back into the ring as Bubba Ray puts Diego through a table with a powerbomb off of the top rope! “The Swiss Superman” was in action on RAW as Cesaro would go one-on-one with the self-proclaimed “A-Lister” The Miz. During the match, The Miz would turn his focus to the injured ribs of Cesaro and, with both The Miz and Cesaro on the outside, Big Show would come looking for The Miz after The Miz cost him the Intercontinental Title last week. The Miz would manage to keep his distance from “The World’s Largest Athlete”, escaping into the crowd as the match is ruled a double count-out. Enraged by not getting his hands on The Miz, Big Show would take his anger out on Cesaro, blasting an unsuspecting Cesaro with the Knockout Punch! With a week and counting until she becomes the longest reigning Divas Champion in history, Nikki Bella would make an appearance on RAW as the Divas Champion would be flanked by her Team Bella teammates Brie Bella & Alicia Fox. After an introduction from Brie Bella & Alicia Fox, Nikki Bella says that the “Bella Army” is counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until she becomes the longest reigning Divas Champion of all-time. Nikki then refers to the Bella Tron, calling it the “most important countdown in WWE history” before the Bella Tron reveals that Nikki Bella is just one week away from her record-breaking achievement. Nikki continues, saying that Team Bella is the Diva Revolution, inviting everyone to the “Bellabration” next week, promising a huge party when she breaks the record next week. PCB then interrupts Team Bella’s address as Nikki Bella’s Night of Champions challenger Charlotte is accompanied by her teammates Paige & Becky Lynch as PCB makes their way to the ring. Charlotte says that they love a good party, but they weren’t invited to Team Bella’s party before Charlotte reveals that The Authority has granted her petition and, next week on RAW, she will challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship! The #1 Contender then vows to beat Nikki’s clock, spoil Nikki’s attempt to break the record, and she is going to beat Nikki for the Divas Championship. With that, PCB attacks Team Bella and, while Nikki Bella tries to escape, PCB would take out Brie Bella & Alicia Fox before retrieving the Divas Champion as Charlotte hits Nikki Bella with a Spear before locking in the Figure-Eight, sending a strong message before their title match next week. Then it was time for the main event as, before he challenges Seth Rollins for the United States Championship in one of two of Rollins’ title defenses at Night of Champions, John Cena would team with The Prime Time Players to face the team of WWE World Heavyweight & United States Champion Seth Rollins and WWE Tag Team Champions Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, in a 6-Man Tag Match. At the end of a wild match, it was Seth Rollins managing to survive the STF long enough to tag in Kofi Kingston, but Kofi would immediately get caught by John Cena, who hits the Attitude Adjustment, pinning Kofi to pick up the win for Cena and The Prime Time Players. After a brief celebration in the ring, John Cena and The Prime Time Players would leave the ring and, at the end of a terrible night for the champion, Seth Rollins would stand in the ring in disbelief at how his night has went. That is when Sting would appear on the Tron again, still waiting with Seth Rollins’ statue as Sting rubs it in about Rollins’ bad night, commenting that the champion never did come and get his statue. This is when “The Icon” decides to reveal his location as he asks for the lights to be turned on, revealing that Sting, as well as Rollins’ statue, is standing in front of the back of a waiting garbage truck! Sting then has the driver start the truck before Sting taunts his Night of Champions opponent, threatening to knock the statue into the garbage truck before actually doing it as “The Icon” tips the statue back into the ‘mouth’ of the garbage truck before the truck operator pulls the lever and the statue is crushed into pieces in the back of the truck! Sting then rides out of the arena on the back of the truck as a furious Seth Rollins is left in the ring, throwing a temper tantrum in the ring before leaving the ring, grabbing his title belts and holding them high in the ring, letting everyone know that, despite how terrible his night was, he is still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the United States Champion.
