WWE SmackDown Results: August 6, 2015By Cassidy| August 7, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results After he, Dean Ambrose, & Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, & Sheamus in a 6-Man Tag match on RAW, SmackDown kicks off with “The Big Dog” as Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring. Roman says that he thought that he was going to go one-on-one with Bray Wyatt at Battleground, but Bray decided to have a “family reunion” with Luke Harper. Reigns then says that he can do “family vs. family”, asking the fans if they want to see a “family war”. Roman then challenges Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper to face him and Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam, saying that he and Ambrose will be “bringing the fight” to SummerSlam. Roman’s opponent later in the night, Rusev, then comes out to the stage with Summer Rae by his side. Rusev tells Roman that he needs to get out of the ring because what he has to say is more important. Reigns then says that Rusev can’t just dress Summer Rae up like his ex-girlfriend. Rusev says that Reigns does not know what it’s like to be “backstabbed by a cold witch” before saying that, later tonight, maybe he will call Roman “Lana”. Roman then says that this is America and the only thing that they got out of what Rusev said is that Rusev is a “sexist freak”, daring Rusev to come down to the ring right now. Rusev opts to save the fight for the main event, aggressively waving the Bulgarian flag, but not making a move towards the ring. The opening match of the night was a 6-Man Tag Match as WWE Tag Team Champions The Prime Time Players would join forces with “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry to face all three members of The New Day. In the end, it was Mark Henry planting Kofi Kingston with the World’s Strongest Slam, pinning Kofi to pick up the win for his team. The Diva Revolution would come to SmackDown as Submission Sorority member Charlotte, with Becky Lynch in her corner, would go one-on-one with Team B.A.D. member Naomi, with Tamina and NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks in her corner. Charlotte was poised to make quick work of Naomi once she locked in the Figure Eight, but Sasha Banks would attack Charlotte, ending the match by disqualification. This would result in a brawl between the five Divas that saw Charlotte & Becky Lynch get the better of Team B.A.D. After a one-on-one match devolved into a five-Diva brawl, an impromptu tag match would take place on SmackDown as The Submission Sorority’s Charlotte & Becky Lynch would face Team B.A.D. members Naomi & NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, with Tamina in their corner. Despite Naomi not being legal in the match, Naomi would roll Charlotte up in a small package and both Divas would counter the other with Naomi able to keep Charlotte’s shoulders down for the three-count as Naomi & Sasha Banks pick up the win. Before his upcoming confrontation with “Arrow” star Stephen Amell this coming Monday night on RAW, Stardust was in action on SmackDown as the bizarre Superstar would go one-on-one with Zack Ryder. In the end, it was Stardust hitting the Queen’s Crossbow, pinning Zack Ryder for the win. Then it was time for the main event as, after challenging Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper to a tag team match against himself and Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam, “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns would go one-on-one with “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, with Summer Rae in his corner. At the end of a hard-hitting match, Rusev would catch Roman Reigns with a big side kick, but Roman would fire back with the Superman Punch, leaving both men lying in the ring. This is when Lana would march out to ringside, looking for a piece of Summer Rae as Lana would attack her replacement, leaving Summer down on the floor and nearly costing Rusev the match. Shortly after this, Rusev’s frustration would get the better of him and Roman Reigns would take advantage, scoring with the Spear and pinning Rusev for the win. After the match, Roman Reigns’ celebration would be interrupted by Bray Wyatt, who appears on the Tron, applauding Roman before saying that he tried to “warn” Reigns. Bray then says that his hands are the ones who will bring Roman’s “empire” to the ground before Bray accepts Roman’s challenge for SummerSlam, saying that Roman will bring his “lunatic” and he will bring his “brother”. Bray then states that he “welcomes” this war, laughing maniacally. What did you think of this week’s SmackDown? Post your comments in the box below.
