WWE SmackDown Results: August 13, 2015By Cassidy| August 14, 2015 WWE SmackDown Previous Page Detailed Results After the hatred between Sheamus and Randy Orton not only allowed him to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of RAW against Randy Orton due to Sheamus’ interference, but Orton would prevent Sheamus from cashing in his Money-in-the-Bank contract moments later, SmackDown kicks off with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. The champion says that all live fast-paced lives, but if they don’t slow down and soak up what is happening around them, then they are taking life for granted. Rollins continues, saying that there aren’t words to describe the “greatness” they are all a part of before saying that it’s like if Babe Ruth hit a thousand more home runs than he did or if Michael Jordan had won twenty MVP awards. Rollins then says that this is “genius” on the level that The Rolling Stones or The Beatles could ever “dream of”, saying that this is “unparalleled greatness”. The champion then reveals that he is, of course, talking about himself before saying that he “tamed” Randy Orton on RAW and “escaped” the Money-in-the-Bank cash-in attempt by Sheamus, saying that he also brought Neville “back down to Earth” and again reminding everyone that he shattered John Cena’s nose a couple of weeks ago. Rollins continues, saying that the fans will tell their grandchildren about seeing Seth Rollins in his “prime” before saying that there are some people who refuse to accept that the “future is now”. The champion then shows footage from Tuesday’s episode of Tough Enough where United States Champion John Cena accepted Seth Rollins’ challenge for a Winner-Takes-All, title-for-title match at SummerSlam. Rollins then challenges John Cena to show up on RAW this coming Monday night and accept his SummerSlam challenge face-to-face before saying that Cena will realize that, when you mess with “greatness” like Seth Rollins, you will “fail”, bringing up the list of challengers he has survived during his time as champion. Rollins is then interrupted by Neville as “The Man That Gravity Forgot” makes his way to the ring to confront the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Neville says that he’s been listening to Rollins’ list of achievements, saying that he is “disappointed” by Seth Rollins missing some very important details. Neville then reminds the champion that, despite John Cena’s broken nose, Cena still beat Rollins that night on RAW. Neville also reminds Rollins that, if it wasn’t for Randy Orton’s involvement on RAW, Sheamus would be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion right now. Neville then reminds Rollins that he hit the champion with the Red Arrow a few weeks ago on RAW and Rollins could not kick out, having to put his foot on the ropes to break up the pin. The champion says that Neville had the chance to shut him up a few weeks ago, but just like everyone else, Neville “failed”. Cesaro then comes out, saying that the Cesaro Section is sick of hearing Seth Rollins go “on and on and on and on and on”, but before “The Swiss Superman” can continue, he is blindsided by Kevin Owens! At the same time, Seth Rollins takes advantage of Neville’s back being turned in the ring, attacking Neville. On the outside, Owens sends Cesaro into the steel steps while, in the ring, Rollins hits Neville with his turnbuckle powerbomb. The champion then stands tall over Neville in the ring as Kevin Owens walks to the back. With a Divas Three-Team Elimination Tag Match between Team PCB, Team B.A.D., and Team Bella coming up at SummerSlam, two of those teams were on SmackDown as Team PCB member Charlotte, with Becky Lynch in her corner, would go one-on-one with Team B.A.D.’s Naomi, with Tamina & NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks in her corner. During the match, Charlotte lifts a charging Naomi up and over the top rope, using Naomi to take out Tamina and Sasha Banks. Charlotte then rolls Naomi back into the ring, locking in the Figure Eight, making Naomi tap out to pick up the win. For the first time since his surprise return from a severe staph infection this past Monday night on RAW, Intercontinental Champion Ryback would make an appearance on SmackDown. Ryback says that he feels “better than ever” before saying that winning the Intercontinental Championship made all of the pain and suffering in his career worth it. Ryback then shows what his knee looked like with the staph infection before saying that he Shell Shocked the staph infection before saying that he’s had to listen to people say that the Intercontinental Championship is “cursed” and he has to listen to The Miz trying to get him to relinquish the title. The champion then says that the support of the fans motivated him to get through the staph infection and return to WWE, declaring that The Miz and Big Show need to “wake up” because, at SummerSlam, it’s “feeding time”. Ten nights before Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns face Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper at SummerSlam, Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper make an appearance on SmackDown. Luke Harper says that he was born “holding the devil’s hand” before Bray Wyatt says that he gave Luke Harper “sight”, saying that Harper’s eyes are set on Roman Reigns tonight. Bray continues, saying that he will bring his “brother” to SummerSlam and Roman better make sure to bring his “lunatic”. This brings out the aforementioned “lunatic” as Dean Ambrose says that he doesn’t really have anything to say, he’s just out there to watch Roman do what they do best and that is “talk with our fists”. With Dean Ambrose in his corner, “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns would go one-on-one with Luke Harper, with Bray Wyatt in his corner, on SmackDown. During the match, Bray Wyatt’s repeated attempts to get involved in the match would spark a brawl between Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose with Wyatt slamming Ambrose on the ringside barricade as the match continues in the ring. Shortly after this, Roman Reigns would score with the Superman Punch, but that is when Bray Wyatt would interfere, ending the match by disqualification. With the match over, all hell would break loose between the two teams with Dean Ambrose sending both Wyatt & Harper to the outside before “The Lunatic Fringe” dives to the outside, taking out both men. Wyatt & Harper are able to get back to their feet, double-teaming Ambrose before Roman Reigns re-enters the fray as both Ambrose & Reigns toss Wyatt & Harper over the ringside barricade. Ambrose & Reigns then stand tall in the ring as Wyatt & Harper storm to the back. Before The Prime Time Players put the WWE Tag Team Titles on the line in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Match against The New Day, The Lucha Dragons, & Los Matadores at SummerSlam, WWE Tag Team Champions The Prime Time Players would face The New Day’s Big E & Xavier Woods, with Kofi Kingston in their corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Darren Young would go for the Gut Check on Xavier Woods, but Big E would rescue Woods and, together, all three members of The New Day looked ready to walk out on the match. However, Los Matadores and The Lucha Dragons would come out and, with The New Day’s attention on the masked men, The Prime Time Players would take out Big E & Kofi Kingston, allowing Darren Young to bring Xavier Woods back into the ring, hitting the Gut Check and pinning Woods for the win. After the match, The Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores would join The Prime Time Players, but as the champions hold up their belts, it’s clear that the alliance between the three teams is an uneasy and temporary one. Then it was time for the main event as, following a confrontation earlier in the night, “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro would join forces with “The Man That Gravity Forgot” Neville to face the team of Kevin Owens and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. During the match, Kevin Owens would twice avoid contact on the outside, shoving Seth Rollins in the way of the impact before Neville is finally to dive to the outside, taking Owens out. As Rollins tries to recover on the announce table, Cesaro comes over with a big uppercut to the champion, knocking him off of the table. Back in the ring, Cesaro would have control of the match until Kevin Owens distracted Cesaro, allowing Seth Rollins to take advantage as the champion scores with the turnbuckle powerbomb, but when Rollins goes for the Pedigree, Cesaro counters, locking in the Sharpshooter on Rollins. Kevin Owens would then break it up, distracting Cesaro long enough for Rollins to take advantage, rolling “The Swiss Superman” up and grabbing the tights for the illegal advantage to score the three-count and win the match for his team. After the match, Kevin Owens would try to put the boots to Cesaro, but Cesaro would battle back, lifting Owens up onto his shoulders, slamming Owens down before Neville comes off of the top rope with the Red Arrow! Despite losing the match, it was Cesaro and Neville who were left standing tall at the end of the night as they celebrate getting the better of Kevin Owens.
