WWE RAW Results: August 17, 2015By Cassidy| August 18, 2015 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results With SummerSlam just six nights away, RAW kicks off with The Authority as WWE COO Triple H & WWE Principal Owner Stephanie McMahon make their way to the ring. Stephanie welcomes everyone to RAW before saying that they are only six nights away from the “biggest SummerSlam in history” before plugging the WWE Network. Triple H then says that SummerSlam is so big and so epic that they had to make it a four-hour extravaganza, vowing that history will be made this Sunday. The Authority then runs down the big matches for SummerSlam, promoting the epic clash between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker before Stephanie reveals that there will be a contract signing between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and United States Champion John Cena later on in the evening for their title-for-title, winner-takes-all match at SummerSlam. Triple H then promotes Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper before revealing that Roman Reigns will go one-on-one with Luke Harper tonight. Stephanie then promotes the Divas Three-Team Elimination Tag Match between Team PCB, Team B.A.D., and Team Bella before announcing that, tonight, Divas Champion Nikki Bella will go one-on-one with NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. Triple H then says that it doesn’t “get any bigger” than what they’ve got in store for SummerSlam, but Stephanie says that it does get bigger. The Principal Owner then makes the official announcement that the former host of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart, will serve as the Host of SummerSlam! Triple H then concludes by saying that, as far as they are concerned, the road to SummerSlam starts right here, right now. Before he goes one-on-one with Sheamus this Sunday at SummerSlam, the opening match of the night would see “The Viper” Randy Orton team with “The Swiss Superman” Cesaro to face “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Sheamus and Cesaro’s SummerSlam opponent Kevin Owens. At the end of an intense match, Randy Orton would go for the RKO, but Kevin Owens would block the attempt, shoving Orton right into Sheamus and “The Viper” hits Sheamus with the RKO! Then, as Cesaro pulls Owens out of the ring, Orton pins Sheamus to pick up the win for himself and Cesaro, picking up momentum for their respective SummerSlam matches. Appearing from a dark location filled with mysterious smoke, The Undertaker would make his presence felt on RAW as “The Phenom” would address his huge WrestleMania 30 rematch at SummerSlam against Brock Lesnar. The Undertaker says that, when the “reaper calls your name”, there is no “remorse” and when the “reaper calls your name”, it is simply “over”. The Undertaker continues, saying that the “gates of hell are opening” and welcoming Brock Lesnar to his “eternal damnation”, saying that Brock’s “name has been called” and, at SummerSlam, Lesnar will “never rest in peace”. Backstage, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is with The Authority and, after making sure that the contract for his title-for-title match against United States Champion John Cena at SummerSlam is in order, the champion has a rather bold request. Rollins says that, after SummerSlam, he will be the first ever Superstar to hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the United States Championship at the same time. The champion then says that, in the lobby of WWE Headquarters, there are statues of some of the greatest legends in WWE history like Andre The Giant, Bruno Sammartino, & The Ultimate Warrior before saying that, after he beats John Cena, he feels like he deserves a spot next to those legends! Surprisingly, The Authority agrees, saying that, if Rollins is able to walk out of SummerSlam with both championships, then he deserves a statue in the lobby of WWE Headquarters with Triple H adding that, if Rollins wins, then he can “consider it done”! Six nights before he and Dean Ambrose face Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper at SummerSlam, “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns, with Dean Ambrose a guest on commentary, would go one-on-one with Luke Harper, with Bray Wyatt seated on the other side of the announce table. At the end of a hard-fought match, it was Roman Reigns surviving the onslaught of Luke Harper and firing back with the Superman Punch and the Spear, pinning Harper for the win. After the match, Dean Ambrose would take a moment to rub Roman’s victory in Bray Wyatt’s face before joining his “brother” in the ring to celebrate the win. Reigns & Ambrose then exit the ring and Bray Wyatt enters the ring, kneeling next to his fallen follower and shouting “follow the buzzards”. With the Divas Three-Team Elimination Tag Match coming up this Sunday at SummerSlam, Team PCB member Becky Lynch, with Paige & Charlotte in her corner, would make her singles match debut on RAW against the enforcer of Team B.A.D., Tamina, with Naomi & NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks in her corner. In the end, it was Becky Lynch locking in the Dis-Arm-Her on Tamina, making Tamina tap out to pick up the win. After Lana was humiliated by Summer Rae on last week’s RAW by being put in the Accolade by Summer, Lana was a guest on commentary as “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, with Summer Rae in his corner, would go one-on-one with “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry. Despite Mark Henry’s best efforts to avoid the Accolade, Mark Henry would succumb to the submission maneuver as Rusev picks up the win. After the match, Rusev & Summer Rae would celebrate their victory in the ring with the Bulgarian flag behind them, with Rusev’s face on the flag. Rusev & Summer Rae would exit the ring, but Lana would enter the ring, daring Summer Rae to come into the ring and fight her! This would bring Summer Rae back into the ring and, with Rusev on the ring apron, Summer would get in Lana’s face, but as soon as she does, Lana slaps Summer Rae across the face, knocking Summer to the mat. The fired-up Lana then dares Rusev to enter the ring and face her, but what initially appears to be a crazy decision on Lana’s part would prove to be a brilliant plan as Dolph Ziggler makes his return to WWE! Dolph makes a beeline for “The Bulgarian Brute”, planting Rusev with a DDT, but when Dolph goes for a super kick, Rusev pulls Summer Rae in front of him and Lana drops Summer with a kick of her own, leaving Rusev open for a super kick from Dolph! Rusev & Summer Rae then escape from the ring, humiliated, as Dolph and Lana share a kiss in the ring. Before he defends the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz and Big Show in a Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam, the Intercontinental Champion was in action on RAW as “The Big Guy” Ryback would go one-on-one with The Miz in a non-title match with Big Show a guest on commentator. In the end, it was Ryback hitting Shell Shocked, pinning The Miz for the win. After the match, Ryback would waste no time in grabbing a microphone and daring Big Show to face him in the ring. However, “The World’s Largest Athlete” would opt to save the fight for Sunday, ignoring Ryback’s challenge and walking to the back. Six nights before they put their respective titles on the line in a rarely seen title-for-title, winner-takes-all match for both the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the United States Championship at SummerSlam, Seth Rollins and John Cena would come face-to-face on RAW for the official contract signing. With Triple H & Stephanie McMahon presiding over the contract signing, The Authority first introduces WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, who greets The Authority in the ring. Rollins then says that he has to congratulate himself on the statue that will be made of him after he beats John Cena at SummerSlam, saying that it’s a special time to be a WWE fan. The champion continues, saying that the fans will be witnesses to a “special moment in time that will never be replicated” when he defeats John Cena and becomes the first Superstar in history to hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the United States Championship at the same time. Rollins then starts to sign the contract, but the champion hesitates before saying that, for the past decade, John Cena has been on the top of the mountain in WWE and has put down every opponent put in his path. Rollins then says that Cena is not “Superman”, he is the “villain” and he has been holding the fans “hostage” for the past decade, saying that John Cena is a “disease” and, with one well-placed knee, Rollins shattered Cena’s face into a “million pieces”. The champion continues, saying that he fired the first shot that began Cena’s fall from the mountain top and he began the process that will “free” every WWE fan, proclaiming that John Cena is the “disease” and Seth Rollins is the “cure”! Rollins then says that, this Sunday, he is going to crush Cena’s “legacy” just like he crushed Cena’s nose before calling John Cena a “coward” for not accepting his challenge face-to-face. Having heard enough from the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, United States Champion John Cena makes his return to RAW to confront Seth Rollins for the first time since having his nose broken. Saying that he is not in the mood to have a seat, John Cena says that Seth Rollins is trying to defend his legitimacy as a champion, but the fans are chanting “let’s go Cena” and “Cena sucks” and not saying anything about the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The United States Champion then says that Seth Rollins has been reduced to nothing more than a “cheap imitation of John Cena” before addressing Seth Rollins’ “Never Shuts Up” t-shirt that is an imitation of John Cena. Cena sarcastically congratulates Seth Rollins on parodying him, saying that it is about time that Rollins makes the WWE World Heavyweight Title mean something. Cena continues, saying that Seth Rollins was handpicked by Triple H to be the future of WWE and someone like Triple H does not make a decision like that unless he sees the same attributes in someone that the COO possesses himself, saying that Triple H has given Rollins every tool that he needs to succeed, even giving Rollins the Pedigree. Cena then says that Rollins could be a way for Triple H to make his legacy last “forever”, but there is a “big problem” that Triple H has been dealing with for the past decade and is not going anywhere anytime soon and that is John Cena. Cena then says that his time recovering has given him time to think about how he will pay Rollins back for breaking his nose and what he came up with will “haunt” Seth Rollins for the rest of his life and will “haunt” Triple H for the rest of his life as well. Cena explains that he had his new apparel made weeks ago that adorns the number “15” for his number of reigns as World Champion because he never expected to get another shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but that was before Seth Rollins’ opened his mouth and challenged Cena to a title-for-title match at SummerSlam. Cena then says that “payback” for him is simple as he will walk into SummerSlam, beat Seth Rollins, and become a World Champion for the sixteenth time, which will tie two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair’s legendary and unmatched number of World Title reigns! Cena continues, saying that, when Rollins loses this Sunday, then Triple H will lose as well because the all-time record for most World Title reigns is held my Triple H’s mentor, Ric Flair, and Seth Rollins will become a “footnote” and an “answer to a trivia question” as Rollins will only be remembered for being the guy that John Cena beat to become a sixteen-time World Champion. Cena then says that, at SummerSlam, Rollins will fight to protect “the past, the present, and the future” of Triple H’s legacy. Cena then says that there is one major difference, however, as Triple H was never Ric Flair’s “bitch” and, this Sunday, he is going to make Rollins his! With that bold statement, John Cena signs the contract and defiantly exits the ring, leaving a livid Seth Rollins as Triple H glares at the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, fully realizing that what John Cena said was true. Before the four teams collide in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam, WWE Tag Team Champions The Prime Time Players would team with The Lucha Dragons to face The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods in their corner, and Los Matadores, with El Torito in their corner, in an 8-Man Tag Match. In the end, it was Kalisto hitting a hurrincanrana on Fernando, keeping Fernando down for the three-count to pick up the win for his team. Champions would square off on RAW as, with the Divas Three-Team Elimination Tag Match coming up this Sunday at SummerSlam, Team Bella member and Divas Champion Nikki Bella, with Brie Bella & Alicia Fox in her corner, would go one-on-one with Team B.A.D. member and NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, with Naomi & Tamina in her corner, in a non-title match. During the match, Nikki Bella would go for the Rack Attack on Sasha Banks, but Naomi would get on the ring apron, distracting Nikki long enough for Sasha Banks to take advantage as the NXT Women’s Champion locks in the Bank Statement, making the Divas Champion tap out to pick up the win. Then it was time for the homecoming of “The Beast” as, six nights before his epic match against The Undertaker at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar, with advocate Paul Heyman by his side, would return to RAW in his home state of Minnesota. Before introducing his client, Paul Heyman touts the accomplishments of Brock Lesnar, including his winning of the NCAA Division I Championship at the University of Minnesota before bringing “The Beast” to the ring as Brock Lesnar makes his way to the ring with much fanfare, complete with confetti and streamers all in honor of Brock’s Minnesota homecoming. After Brock Lesnar soaks in the adoration of his fellow Minnesota natives, Paul Heyman puts on his best signing voice to sing “Brock Lesnar marches on” before the homecoming celebration is halted by the unmistakable gong of The Undertaker as the lights go out in the arena. However, when they come back on, The Undertaker is nowhere to be found, which puts a smile on the face of Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. Heyman scoffs at The Undertaker’s attempt to scare Brock Lesnar, calling it a “Jedi mind trick” before saying that The Undertaker could get “God and the Devil” on his side and Brock Lesnar would take all three of them to Suplex City! Heyman continues, saying that, ever since WrestleMania 30, The Undertaker has dreamt of the moment that he would get his revenge for Brock Lesnar ending his undefeated streak, saying that The Undertaker would get that moment at Battleground when delivered a low blow to Lesnar. Heyman then says that, the moment that The Undertaker locked eyes with Brock Lesnar at Battleground, Undertaker knew that he would never go from being the “conquered” to being the “conqueror”, bringing up that The Undertaker has never in his career beaten Brock Lesnar and, after SummerSlam, the same will still be true, saying that The Undertaker “fears” Brock Lesnar. Heyman continues, saying that you put any man in the ring with The Undertaker and The Undertaker will have a tombstone with that man’s name on it, but The Undertaker is not fighting a man this Sunday, he is fighting “The Beast”. Paul Heyman then says that, this Sunday at SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar offers The Undertaker “no recognition” of The Undertaker’s twenty-five years of destruction and Brock will make sure that there is no “resurrection” of The Undertaker. However, Paul Heyman’s intense speech is interrupted by the sound of The Undertaker’s gong and the lights going out in the arena once again, but this time, it was not a scare tactic as, when the lights come back on, “The Phenom” is standing toe-to-toe with Brock Lesnar and, much like at Battleground, The Undertaker resorts to a low blow to take Brock Lesnar down! The Undertaker then sizes up “The Beast” before delivering a chokeslam to Brock Lesnar in the middle of the ring before waiting for Brock to get to his feet, picking Lesnar up and drilling “The Beast” with the Tombstone Piledriver. The Undertaker then glares evilly at Paul Heyman before exiting the ring, leaving Brock Lesnar down in the ring, having successfully ruined Brock Lesnar’s Minnesota homecoming and leaving a lasting message for Brock Lesnar heading into SummerSlam.
