WWE SmackDown Results: July 23, 2015By Cassidy| July 24, 2015 WWE SmackDown Taking Advantage. Four nights after Battleground, the 831st edition of WWE Thursday Night SmackDown came to you from the Pinnacle Bank Arena at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE. Widely considered to be one of the most underrated Superstars in WWE, Cesaro has been stealing the show with his matches over the last several weeks, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind that “The Swiss Superman” is a force to be reckon with and, after making history last week by being only the second Superstar to ever defeat Rusev by pinfall, Cesaro is on a major roll right now and “The King of Swing” will get the opportunity to prove that he belongs in the main event scene when he goes one-on-one with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a non-title match! During the 6-Man Tag main event on RAW that pitted United States Champion John Cena, Cesaro, & Randy Orton against Kevin Owens, Rusev, & Sheamus, tension would rise to a boiling point on the team of Kevin Owens, Rusev, & Sheamus, leading to both Sheamus and Kevin Owens walking out on the match, leaving Rusev to face Cena, Cesaro, & Orton all on his own! Now, on SmackDown, “The Bulgarian Brute” will be looking to gain a measure of revenge when Rusev goes one-on-one with Kevin Owens. Match Results Sheamus (with Bray Wyatt & Luke Harper) def. Dean Ambrose by pin following the Brogue Kick. Neville def. Adam Rose by pin following the Red Arrow. Rusev (with Summer Rae) def. Kevin Owens by intentional count-out. The Bella Twins (with Alicia Fox) def. Naomi & Sasha Banks (with Tamina) by Nikki Bella pinning Naomi following the Rack Attack. Non-Title: Seth Rollins def. Cesaro by pin following the Pedigree. See page 2 for detailed results.
