WWE RAW Results: June 22, 2015By Cassidy| June 23, 2015 WWE Raw Previous Page Detailed Results One week after he was not only reinstated by The Authority as the ultimate test for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, but selected as the new #1 Contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in four weeks at WWE Battleground, RAW kicks off with “The Beast” Brock Lesnar, with his advocate Paul Heyman in tow. Speaking on behalf of his client, Paul Heyman presents the crowd for the “official return” of Brock Lesnar before showing a “refresher course” of where Brock Lesnar has been, showing footage from three months ago where, on the night after losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after Seth Rollins cashed in his Money-in-the-Bank contract at WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar would appear on RAW, ready for his rematch for the title. However, on that night, new champion Seth Rollins would refuse Brock Lesnar’s challenge for a championship rematch, backing out of the match and narrowly escaping the grasp of “The Beast”. This would send Brock Lesnar over the edge as “The Beast” would proceed to tip the announce table over on both JBL and Booker T, put his hands on Michael Cole and hit the F-5 on the helpless announcer in the ring, and even F-5 a cameraman, resulting in Stephanie McMahon suspending Lesnar indefinitely. After showing the footage, Paul Heyman says that the only way he could negotiate Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE would be if Lesnar agreed to publically apologize for his actions! This appears to amuse “The Beast” before Paul Heyman reveals that, if Lesnar does not apologize to Michael Cole and JBL, then Lesnar will not get his rematch for the title and he will not be allowed to return to WWE. Brock Lesnar then exits the ring to confront a nervous announce team as Michael Cole, JBL, & Byron Saxton all stand up, ready to make a run for it if they need to. “The Beast” first confronts JBL and, surprisingly, Lesnar extends his hand to JBL, who nervously shakes Brock’s hand. Brock Lesnar then makes his way around the announce table, which causes Byron Saxton to steer clear of Brock, getting out of the way as Brock confronts Michael Cole. Cole does his best to not anger “The Beast”, shaking hands with Lesnar before Brock puts Cole in a headlock and sits him down in his chair, patting the announcer as Cole tells him “we’re good”. Having done what was asked of him with little incident, Brock Lesnar rejoins Paul Heyman in the ring. Heyman then says that he feels the need to “apologize in advance” for what Brock Lesnar is going to do to that “parasitic thief” Seth Rollins at Battleground. Heyman continues, saying that Rollins has been “protected” throughout his WWE career, having sold his “long-term soul for the short-term gain” of being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion before saying that The Authority has decided that “feeding” Rollins to Brock Lesnar is what is “beast for business”. Heyman then says that Rollins has a “one way ticket to Suplex City” at Battleground and those accomodations are “courtesy” of Brock Lesnar, touting Lesnar as the “former and future reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Heavyweight Champion of the world”! The opening match of the night would then see “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose square off with The Authority’s Director of Operations Kane. During the match, Dean Ambrose would go for Dirty Deeds on Kane, but WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins would march out to ringside and Ambrose would dive out onto the champion. “The Lunatic Fringe” then climbs to the top rope, but Rollins gets on the ring apron and, while Ambrose manages to kick Rollins off of the ring apron, the distraction allows Kane to grab “The Lunatic Fringe” by the throat, delivering a chokeslam to Ambrose off of the top rope, pinning Ambrose for the win! After the match, Seth Rollins would have a smile on his face as Kane looks back at the champion, perplexed by Rollins’ assistance. Backstage, Seth Rollins tells Kane that they need to get the “band” back together, but Kane sees right through the champion’s plan, saying that Brock Lesnar is coming after the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Rollins needs “backup”. Outraged at this accusation, Rollins denies being afraid of Brock Lesnar, saying that he is going to “destroy” Lesnar at Battleground. Rollins then says that this isn’t about him, it’s about The Authority, extending his hand to Kane. However, the Director of Operations refuses to shake the champion’s hand, walking off and leaving Rollins frustrated. The WWE Tag Team Champions were in action on RAW as The Prime Time Players would face The Ascension in a non-title match. In the end, it was Darren Young hitting the Gut Check, pinning Viktor to pick up the win for the WWE Tag Team Champions. As Bray Wyatt continues to wage mental warfare leading up to their match at Battleground, Roman Reigns would go one-on-one with “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Sheamus on RAW. During a hard-hitting match, the fight would spill to the outside where Roman Reigns would launch himself at Sheamus, leaving “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” laid out on the announce table. Reigns then rolls back into the ring as Bray Wyatt appears on the Tron, having a tea party with someone who is presumed to be Roman’s daughter as Bray tells Roman to find him. Fearful of his daughter’s safety, Roman would abandon the match altogether, rushing to the back as Bray reveals that he was only talking to an empty rocking chair. Backstage, Roman Reigns is frantically searching the backstage area for Bray Wyatt and his daughter when Roman finds the room that Wyatt was in. While Roman does not find Wyatt, he does find an eerie candle-lit display as the candles illuminate a wall adorned with pictures of Reigns with the eyes and mouth cut out with the message “Anyone but you” written in red on the wall as Bray’s voice is heard singing “I’m A Little Teapot”. Backstage, Seth Rollins confronts J&J Security, who refuse to give Rollins a cup of coffee for “old time’s sake”. The champion tells Noble and Mercury to “stop playing”, but Noble says that they dedicated their lives to make Rollins the champion. Noble continues, saying that their hard work has been met with cruel jokes from Rollins. Rollins argues that they are “family”, saying that he doesn’t need them because of Brock Lesnar, he needs them because, as the champion, he represents The Authority. Rollins continues, saying that, if Brock Lesnar decided to take Rollins out before Battleground, then that would be on the shoulders of J&J Security for not protecting him. The champion then asks if they are “cool”, but Noble & Mercury walk away from Rollins, showing no interest in a reconciliation. “The Man That Gravity Forgot” was in action on RAW as Neville would go one-on-one with The New Day’s Kofi Kingston, with Big E & Xavier Woods in his corner. During the match, Neville would have a face-off with Big E & Xavier Woods on the outside before The Prime Time Players to provide backup for Neville. However, the referee was having none of this as he ejects the WWE Tag Team Champions from ringside and, when Big E & Xavier Woods start taunting Neville, the referee decides to eject Big E & Xavier Woods as well! Without his backup, Kofi Kingston would fall victim to the Red Arrow as Neville pins Kofi for the win. The 2015 King of the Ring was in action on RAW as King Barrett would be looking to end his losing streak as Barrett would go one-on-one with Zack Ryder. In the end, Zack Ryder would go to the top rope and King Barrett would take advantage, catching Ryder with the Royal Bull Hammer, pinning Ryder to pick up the win. For the first time since he was the victim of a powerbomb on the ring apron by NXT Champion Kevin Owens at Money-in-the-Bank, United States Champion John Cena would appear on RAW to address the events of Money-in-the-Bank, as well as Kevin Owens’ desire to challenge Cena for the United States Championship. Cena holds up the United States Title belt, saying that the championship is a “symbol of excellence” and he is proud to be the champion of the United States. Cena then says that the “opportunity” that defines the United States Championship could be the “opportunity” that will “destroy” him. The champion continues, saying that Kevin Owens is a “man on a mission” and that mission is to take opportunities by “any means necessary”. Cena says that, at Money-in-the-Bank, he offered a “gesture of mutual respect” and Owens took that opportunity to put him out of commission. The United States Champion then says that, for whatever reason, Kevin Owens decided to attack a “ninety-five pound musician” last week, saying that Owens’ focus is now on the United States Championship. Cena then says that Owens is a “garbage human being”, but Owens knows how “embarrassing” it would be for him to have to hand over the United States Title to a “dirt bag” like Kevin Owens. Cena then admits that, if he accepts Owens’ challenge, then he may be accepting a fight that he cannot win, saying that he could simply say “no”. The United States Champion continues, saying that, if he refuses, then everything that Kevin Owens has said about him becomes true. Cena then says that he will do what a champion does and that is “fight”, saying that the United States Championship will not be “protected by politics”, saying that “if you want some, come get some”. This brings NXT Champion Kevin Owens out to the stage, saying that he doesn’t put much value into other people’s opinions and he really doesn’t care what other people think of him. Owens continues, saying that he’s been called “out of shape” and a “sloth” and Cena just called him a “dirt bag”, saying that he beat Cena at WWE Elimination Chamber and left Cena laid out at Money-in-the-Bank. The NXT Champion then says what he cares about is winning titles, saying that, once he stepped foot in NXT, he won the NXT Title and now he wants the United States Championship. Owens then says that he wants to make the United States Title a “symbol” of his “excellence” before saying that he is going to give Cena something that he “craves” and that is the acceptance of the fans, saying that Cena will “cheer the mighty John Cena and boo the evil foreigner”. The Montreal native then speaks to the United States Champion in French before Cena says that the fans are not “indifferent” to Owens because of where the NXT Champion is from. Cena then speaks to Owens in French as well as Chinese before declaring that, if Owens wants a fight at Battleground, then he’s got it! The United States Champion then vows that he will kick the NXT Champion’s ass at Battleground! Backstage, Seth Rollins confronts Triple H & Stephanie McMahon as Rollins says that The Authority is more than a “business arrangement” to him and he just wants this “family” to be back together. Stephanie then suggests an “apology” and the champion takes this to mean that Kane and J&J Security are going to apologize to him, but Triple H tells Rollins to “cut the crap”. The COO then says that they’ve invested a lot in Seth Rollins and they made the match with Brock Lesnar because they believe that Rollins is “ready” for Lesnar and he can get the job done. Triple H continues, saying that the champion would be an “idiot” to not be scared of Brock Lesnar, saying that a “smart man” has a “foolproof plan”. Triple H then says that a “smart man” will go to the ring and use the three little words that will make this whole thing go away, “I am sorry”. Rollins then asks what will happen if Brock Lesnar shows up and Stephanie says that, if Rollins wants to get the “band back together”, then the champion knows what he has to do. Triple H then pats the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt, asking Rollins how much he wants this “family”. With Alicia Fox now on “Team Bella”, Alicia Fox would accompany Brie Bella & Divas Champion Nikki Bella as The Bella Twins would face Naomi & Tamina on RAW. During the match, Naomi would inadvertently hit Tamina with the Rear View and Nikki Bella would take advantage, hitting the Rack Attack and pinning Naomi for the win. With an Intercontinental Title defense against both The Miz and Big Show coming up at Battleground, the Intercontinental Champion was in action on RAW as Ryback would go one-on-one with “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry in a non-title match with Big Show a guest on commentary. In the end, it was Ryback employing a big splash off of the top rope, pinning Mark Henry for the win as Big Show looks on. Ryback then exits the ring and Big Show confronts Mark Henry, asking Henry what is “wrong” with him before Henry shoves Big Show and Big Show storms out of the ring. Backstage, an interview with Intercontinental Champion Ryback is interrupted by Big Show, who says that Ryback is just a “little boy” in a “giant’s world”. The Intercontinental Champion then says that Big Show is “all talk and no action”. This sparks a brawl between Ryback and Big Show that ends with “The Big Guy” sending Big Show face-first into a metal door before shoving the giant into steel pipes, leaving Big Show laid out as referees rush in to break up the fight. “The Showoff” was in action on RAW as Dolph Ziggler, with Lana in his corner, would go one-on-one with Adam Rose, with Rosa Mendes in his corner. In the end, Dolph Ziggler would catch Adam Rose in mid-air with a super kick, pinning Rose for the win. After the match, Dolph Ziggler and Lana would share a kiss in the ring and, backstage, Rusev would throw a fit, tossing his crutches around before collapsing on the floor. Summer Rae then shows up, handing Rusev one of his crutches. Backstage, Triple H & Stephanie McMahon are meeting with Kane and J&J Security as Triple H says that Noble & Mercury doesn’t know the “pressure” that comes with being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Stephanie then says that all that they are asking of them is to go out to the ring and hear Seth Rollins out. With the biggest title defense of his career against Brock Lesnar at Battleground, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins would make his way to the ring to make a plea to Kane and J&J Security to back him up in his battle with “The Beast”. Rollins says that, sometimes in life, it is easier to “pretend that you are right than admit when you are wrong”, saying that he has come out there to be the “bigger man” and admit that he has been “wrong”. The champion then asks Kane and J&J Security to come to the ring because he would like to “apologize” to each of them individually. The Director of Operations and J&J Security then make their way to the ring to hear what the champion has to say. Rollins says that a team is only as good as its “foundation”, saying that Kane and J&J Security are his foundation. The champion then says that this has nothing to do with Brock Lesnar, saying that he has beat Lesnar before and he will do it again at Battleground. Rollins continues, saying that this is about “family” before telling J&J Security that he is “sorry”, saying that J&J Security are “role models” to him. The champion then says that J&J Security have always been there for him and he would love it if they would be part of his “family” again. While J&J Security think about what Seth Rollins had to say, the champion turns his attention to Kane, saying that Kane gets “better with age” and he will forever be the “devil’s favorite demon” and Kane is his “favorite WWE Superstar of all-time”. Rollins then says that he would like to extend the same apology to Kane that he offered to J&J Security, asking Kane to be a part of his “family” again. The three men then talk it over, but the champion appears to lose his patience, offering his hand to Kane and J&J Security. Before the matter could be settled, “The Beast” makes his arrival on the scene as Brock Lesnar, along with Paul Heyman, makes his way out to ringside, circling the ring as Seth Rollins, Kane, and J&J Security stand in the ring with their eyes on “The Beast”. While it initially looks like Kane and J&J Security are going to have the champion’s back, Kane and J&J Security would leave the ring, leaving Rollins all alone to face Brock Lesnar. However, just as Brock Lesnar is about to enter the ring to confront the champion, Kane pulls Lesnar off of the ring apron! Kane then delivers a few right hands to “The Beast” before Lesnar takes Kane down with a clothesline. Joey Mercury then launches himself at Lesnar, but Lesnar tosses Mercury into the ringside barricade before “The Beast” picks up Jamie Noble and drives him spine-first into the barricade! Brock Lesnar then enters the ring and, while Seth Rollins tries to get the jump on “The Beast”, Lesnar drills Rollins with a German suplex, followed by a second and then a third German suplex! The #1 Contender then stands over the champion before picking Rollins up for the F-5, but Kane would make the save, grabbing “The Beast” by the throat, ultimately planting Brock Lesnar with a chokeslam! The Director of Operations then goes for a second chokeslam, but Brock Lesnar counters, drilling Kane with a German suplex. Lesnar then goes for the F-5 on Rollins again, but Kane gets involved again and, after targeting the knee of Lesnar, Rollins and Kane take control of “The Beast” as Rollins and Kane drag Brock to the corner and deliver a vicious steel chair shot to the left knee of “The Beast”. Rollins and Kane then continue to beat down Brock Lesnar with Lesnar briefly fighting back before Joey Mercury gets involved as, with Jamie Noble apparently injured by Brock Lesnar, Rollins, Kane, & Mercury would continue the assault with Rollins coming off of the top rope with a knee to the skull of Lesnar. Kane then picks “The Beast” up, drilling Brock Lesnar with another chokeslam before Kane and Joey Mercury pick Lesnar up, handing “The Beast” to Seth Rollins, who delivers the Pedigree to Lesnar! With The Authority back on the same page, Seth Rollins stands tall over the slain beast, proud of his actions as Rollins holds the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt high.
